As one of the the SESAC officers, I spent four days last week in Washington DC, uh meeting with a number of uh folks from both Congress, um from the legislative and the administration uh branch.
It was very interesting to me as a learning piece that in 10 of the 50 states, the counties administer the social services. Yet for all 50 states, those funds go directly to the state, which I think accounts for some of the inherent tension that we often feel with our legislature regarding allocation of funds that that really should be going through counties, but because we're a minority structure go to the go to the state.
Um, we also talked about uh technology in conducting eligibility work. What kind of training would be needed? Mr. Bman did um indicate that he would make a trip to California in the near future and we'll work to coordinate state uh our own HHS agency DHCS and county repres uh state representatives as well as county representatives, ideally including James um if in fact Mr. Bman does make that.
