Hi guys, my name is Sonia and I'm here in Seattle right now. I'm super excited to show you Aua Verde Cafe, which is this Mexican restaurant right on the water. It's super cute, has an amazing It has amazing food. Um, I'm just going to order and show you guys how to order food in English, have a conversation with the staff, and just show you what the food looks like. So, let's go.
And to get to Aua Verde, we're going to be walking along the A, which is the main street right next to the university. Um, it's kind of the heart of the U district, so it's always super busy. There's always people to see and things to do. And then something I love about the AV is how many restaurants and cafes they have here. Um, there's just so many different cuisines to choose from. And I've lived here, this is my second year living here, and I have yet to try even half the restaurants. So, yeah, you really never run out of things to do. The A is also like an amazing place for art and community and that kind of stuff, just because I think because it's right next to the university, it offers a lot of opportunities for students to express themselves. Every year there's uh like a food walk that we do where restaurants will offer samples of their food for $5. We also do like music shows and um like art shows here. So, that's super fun.
So, here's the outside of Agra Verde. It's super cute. I love like the bright green color. It's definitely very noticeable. Um, and it can get really crowded just around lunchtime and dinner time because it is such a popular spot and it's right on the water. So, you know, nice place to take pictures while you're having your food. Um, that kind of stuff. As you can see, it's right on the water, right next to this adorable little park. Um, I'm pretty sure you can bring your food down here and eat if you want to, which on a sunny day like today is just perfect. Um, super refreshing spot.
Something else I love about Aua Verde is that they don't just they're not just a restaurant, but they also rent kayaks and paddle boards. Um, so as a kid, like sometimes we would make a whole day of it. We would come down here, rent a kayak, and then afterwards have lunch at the cafe. Um, so it's just kind of fun that they take advantage of being right on the water and that they have that opportunity for um guests to come and do that. So super fun. Their entire menu is online, which is really nice because I feel like the line would get super long if everyone had to figure out what they wanted to order at the counter. Um, I usually get the mango dia when I'm here. It's like a quesadilla with mango inside, which sounds a little weird, but they have super fresh ingredients, so it's really good. But I'm kind of feeling more like a burrito or something. Yeah, I'll get a burrito.

Okay. And then also the enchiladas with um pork in it.
Okay. Um, and then I think that'll be it.
Veggie burrito. Oh, we actually only have like chicken enchiladas or veggie enchiladas.

Um, no, that's it.

It was pretty good. I went to Fremont, which was really fun.

This is like the outdoor seating part of the restaurant. Super cute, super high energy. And as you can see, it like looks right out onto the water. Um, which I love, especially now that it's finally sunny out. Um, it just makes for like super enjoyable. Sorry if the music's loud, but again, very high energy, very busy cafe. Um, yeah, they also have this super cool self-served salsa salsa bar, which is kind of nice with like unlimited salsa. Um, which I always use. Our waitress gave us free chips, which was super nice of her. And then I have all these salsas, too. I think this one's a red salsa. This one's a green one. And then this one's like a chipotle salsa, which is my personal favorite, just cuz I really like spicy food. Um, but yeah, I'm excited to try it.
M so good. Was really good. And like everything here is so fresh. They like I know they hand make their tortillas. Um and you can definitely taste it. Like the salsa is so good. Um oh, and then they also gave us this number. It like has our order. So 21. The number 21 is associated with our order. And then the waitress will come out and bring our food to the table when it's ready.
Hey guys, our food just came. Honestly, super fast considering how busy they are and everything looks amazing. So, this is these are like chicken enchiladas and the brown stuff is like a mole sauce. Um, looks like it's sesame seeds on it, too. Honestly, that's so pretty. Um, and then it comes with reffried beans and Spanish rice. And then this is a veggie burrito. This is what I got. Comes with side of chips. Um, it has squash, beans, rice, lettuce, all that kind of stuff in it. Um, so yeah, I'm excited to try. Maybe I'm a little weird for this, but I like eating my burritos, especially ones this big. Like, look at this. Um, with a fork and a knife, just cuz I feel like it's super messy anyways. But yeah, I'm really excited to try this. I've never had a burrito from here before. Like, every time I would come here as a kid, I was kind of picky. I was like a picky eater, so I would only have the quesadilla, which my parents were fine with cuz it was cheaper. Um, but yeah, it looks like The burrito has like the same Spanish rice in it that the enchiladas came with, but let's try it.
[Music] Oh my god. Yeah, that's super good. A lot of like interesting flavors just with like the squash and everything, but still warm and like the sauce they use is amazing. Yeah, feel like it'll go really well with like maybe the salsa verde. So, let's try that.
[Music] Oh my god. Yeah, this is like perfect for today. Okay, I switched food with my friend just so I can try the enchiladas for you guys. I can't actually try them cuz I don't eat chicken, but I mean the molly sauce looks so good.
[Music] It has like a very earthy taste. Like I feel like mole is so unique in its flavor. It's kind of hard to describe. Um but it's really good. It's like very savory, very rich, and like slightly spicy, honestly. But yeah, really good.
