Welcome Back And Let's start Our Second Lesson of my free Thai.
Hello. Hello. How are you? I am fine. What is your name? My name is Lily. And you? My name is Tom. What country are you from? I am from England. Are you Indonesian? No. I am not Indonesian. I am Thai. Are you from Bangkok? No. I am a student. Are you a teacher? Yes. I am a teacher. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you too.
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to make and understand dialogue like this. What our goal from the beginning? To indicate nationality, we use the structure: Person + Country. The word "Person" means "คน" (khon), and by adding the country's name, we get the nationality. "คนไทย" (khon Thai) means Thai Person or just Thai. "คนอเมริกา" (khon America) means American. Also, "เป็น" (pen) is "is" in Thai. To indicate nationality or origin: "ฉันเป็นคนไทยค่ะ" (Chan pen khon Thai kha) - I am Thai. "เขาเป็นคนอเมริกาครับ" (Khao pen khon America khrap) - He/She is American. "คุณเป็นคนไทยใช่ไหมครับ" (Khun pen khon Thai chai mai khrap) - Are you Thai, right? "ใช่ค่ะฉันเป็นคนไทยค่ะ" (Chai kha, chan pen khon Thai kha) - Yes, I am Thai. "ไม่ใช่ค่ะฉันเป็นคนอเมริกาค่ะ" (Mai chai kha, chan pen khon America kha) - No, I am American.
Exercise One: Answer the questions in Thai.

The word "อะไร" (arai) means "What". It's commonly used in questions to ask about things, objects, or situations. "คุณชื่ออะไรคะ" (Khun chue arai kha?) - What is your name? "ผมชื่อทอมครับ" (Phom chue Tom khrap) - My name is Tom.

How to ask "Where are you from?" in Thai? Let's learn now. "คุณมาจากประเทศอะไรครับ" (Khun ma chak prathet arai khrap?) - Where do you come from? "ฉันมาจากประเทศไทยค่ะ" (Chan ma chak prathet Thai kha) - I come from Thailand.
