All right, y'all. You might miss the fullness of this revelation that Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell is about to present because your flesh is not prepared to receive the level of conviction that is about to be stirred up in your heart. So, I'm just preparing you upfront for the conversation that we're about to have because this is something that I've been thinking about for the past couple days, 2, three days since I heard this. And now I feel like I'm ready to actually have a conversation on exactly what he just said. All right, I'm going to play the video as always. We're going to have a conversation. All right, let's go.
God is not going to allow anyone to make it to the end with all the answers while they're walking. If he did that, we would not need faith. Right? God is never going to create a life for anyone that makes him unnecessary. It doesn't exist. So even right now, let's take your life, right?
>> Can we be fully transparent?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. You are a very successful person financially. You understand finances. That is like your niche, right? You've done very well financially. Um you don't want for nothing. Then you can go buy what you want. Praise God. Right? There's a measure of control there. You got your hand on that. You know what you're doing there, right? But then God calls you to do this. You don't know what the future's going to be. You don't know what's going to happen to the podcast. You don't know who's going to stay on the platform and watch and who's going to jump ship. You have no idea. And where you are right now, you know where you are. You're in a place right now of complete dependence upon God. And right now in this season, he's teaching you what he teaches everybody. I will never create a life for anybody that makes me unnecessary. In all of our lives, God will show himself to be necessary. You know what you need right now? God, you know where he's going to keep you in this season? On your knees. You know what? You're going to shed more tears. [snorts] You're going to pray more like you've never prayed. You're going to trust him like you've never trusted. Your knees are going to be more bruised than you've ever been because you, God, you're leading me to do something I've never done. It's scary.
[music] There's anxiety. Where are we going? I see step A and B, but I don't see C, D, E, and F. I don't see the rest. And that's exactly where he wants you to be. Because now in this place, if God blesses initiated by God, you know, people jump shift because they have an affinity for the old um podcast host, and that's fine. That's there's nothing wrong with that. They jump shift. We look up a year from now, 5 years from now, and God has done something powerful, miraculous with this podcast. You know who will get the glory for that?
>> God.
>> He will.
>> Yeah. because right now you have no idea what's going to happen next. [snorts] That's the same thing that happened to me when I changed the name of my ministry from Victory to 2019. Like, no, I thought I was going to die with the name Victory Church. The Lord said, "No, you're going to change this name." But Lord, what's going to happen next? I don't know, but you're going to trust me. Change the name. [snorts] He tells me, "I want you to preach through Matthew." Well, how am I going to do that? It's going to take years. This what I want you to do. Preach through Matthew. But Lord, like, people are not going to they're not going to want to sit there and listen to me walk through a book that's going to take years. I don't care. Preach through Matthew. The month after I start preaching through Matthew says, "Now throw away your notes." Like, "What do you mean? Don't go back in the platform with no more outlines. Do your outlines in the prayer time and then go on a platform with just your Bible and trust me." Like, so I got to memorize my outlines and I'll [clears throat] be up there with just my Bible and my memory and the Holy Spirit. You know what I'm saying? I haven't used an outline in [clears throat] a platform in 3 years, right? So I'll be up there sometimes in a fog trusting the Holy Spirit to bring things to my memory and God told me to do that right and I'm like so what like you talking to a man who pastor a church for 10 years and go up on the platform I got my iPad got my notes got all my things right so I got everything in front of me I know a month after he tells me change the name to 2019 he tells me you work on your outlines in private and then pray them into earth and do not go back in the platform with another outline so I have not carried an outline into the pit in three is so every time I go up there it's I'm afraid you know if I have a brain fog in the middle of the gathering I got to the Holy Spirit has to give me download like everything I'm saying the Holy Spirit is giving me downloads as I'm preaching cuz I have to I have to pray that into my heart all that was scary for me right Lord is calling us to do stuff right now that's scary for me you know access crusades all the things all that is scary you know who got control he does I don't I have no control so I want to encourage you something with with initiated by God I want to encourage enourage you to not see yourself as a owner of this podcast. I want to encourage you to see yourself as a steward. It's a different title, as a manager of something God is going to build and you steward it. I don't see myself as an owner of 2019, right? I see myself as a steward. I see 2019 as something that belongs to the Lord and I'm just managing it for him. Right? We are stewards. So, what I'm saying to you is when this episode is over, whenever you go to pray again, I want you [music] to take your new platform and dedicate the whole thing to God. [music] God, listen. Um, I give you this platform. I give you the whole thing. The entire the entire thing, I lay it at your feet. It belongs to you. Whatever you want it to be, let it be that. I will I will be a steward of this platform and not an owner. And if you approach it as a steward and not an owner, then the responsibility for the platform belongs to who?
>> God.
>> Therefore, right? There you go. And he don't lose no battles and he don't fail. That's the way I lead 2019. I don't lead it as an owner. I'm a steward. It belongs to him. It's his reputation. [clears throat] I'm just a manager of what belongs to him. have people on >> channel for God's work here on earth. >> I'm just a condor. One day I'll be gone and if the Lord carries somebody else will take it over and they'll be responsible for I'm going to give an account for my stewardship before God. Right? And so 2019 because it doesn't belong to me. I don't feel a pressure on what it's supposed to be. I don't feel that pressure when I was uh when I was pastoring Victory Church for 10 years. >> I led that as like a boss, like a owner. I had a control over everything, right? So the reputation everything was on me and God had to break my grip from that through co he loosened my grip. I lost everything and so I don't need 2019. I don't I don't feel this pressure of what 2019 is supposed to be. I don't feel that pressure. My only pressure is is is am I being holy? Am I striving for purity? Am I ringing out sin from my heart? Am I growing in intimacy with Christ in prayer? Am I trying to hear God? Am I obeying the steps he's telling me to obey? Even if people don't understand, am I dealing with warfare, persecution, arrows, bullet wounds flying at me? Am I dealing with all of that in humility? Am I praying for my enemies? The outcomes. I don't deal with outcomes.
>> I let the outcomes be on him. I am not up at night worrying about outcomes. I don't worry about that stuff. I worry about obedience, faithfulness, holiness, purity, prayer, intimacy. That's what I if I'm up at night, I'm stressed about those things and the condition of my heart and the sin of my heart. And you got to do the same. You worry about that [music] and trust the outcomes to God. Whatever this is going to be, put that in his hands.
>> Amen.
>> You worry about the intangible things that people can't see. And the tangible things that people see, let him let him handle that. Let it be his reputation and not yours. Even if people don't understand, you do that, it takes the pressure off you what the podcast is supposed to be. It's supposed to be whatever God wanted it to be.
>> If you do completely dedicated to him,
>> then he's responsible for it, not you.
>> Yeah,
>> that make sense.
>> You actually just brought me back.
>> He's talking to her in the context of her podcast, right? You can take exactly what he said and just apply it to your life personally. You don't have to have a podcast. You don't have to have a business. You don't have to have any any of that. You can take exactly what he said and you should apply it to yourself personally. I'm somebody who I'm up I'm I'm up at night and you want to talk about the conviction component of this conversation and we're going to get even a layer deeper. I'm up at night and I'm stressing about the outcomes. I'm stressing about the things that the world has trained and conditioned me to stress about the financial elements of it. The the the the safety of my of my family, like having a roof over my head, the the future element of what what is life going to look like in the future for myself, for my family, the like my health, like am I am I like am I am I going to be healthy? Am I going to be around to walk my daughter down the aisle? Is are my kids going to be healthy? Is my wife going to be healthy? I'm stressed like my my family, my parents, like that relationship, that dynamic, my friends. I'm up at night and I'm I'm I'm stressing about these things, right? I'm stressing about potential outcomes, right? But the thing that was so interesting that Philip Anthony Mitchell just said is that he's not necessarily concerned about the outcomes. He's stressing about the intangible things that the world cannot see. He's stressing about um being holy. He's stressing about striving for for for purity. He's stressed about is he properly is he properly ringing out his own sin. He's stressed about am I growing in in intimacy in Christ in prayer? Am I am I actually trying to hear God? Am I obedient to the steps that God is telling me to take even if it doesn't make sense to people? Those are the things that he's stressed about. Am I am I am I praying for my enemies? Am I acting with a heart of humility? He's stressed about the condition of his heart, not the outcomes, the tangible physical outcomes that you see here on this earth. You know what's so interesting? Matthew 6 verse 30. Listen to this. Listen to this. And if God cares so wonderfully for wild flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don't worry about these things saying, "What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?" These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers. The constant concern, the constant anxiety, the constant pressure, the constant stress that we put ourselves under in relation to thinking about the outcomes. Those are the things that are burdening the hearts of unbelievers. Those are the thoughts that dominate the minds of unbelievers. So as believers, why are we are why are we assuming the heart posture of unbelievers if we claim to have our faith, our full trust and dependence on Jesus Christ? But your heavenly father already knows all your needs. Seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and he will give you everything you need. Often times the things that we are stressing about from an outcome standpoint, a lot of that stuff is not even a a necessity. It's not a necessity. according to how God views it. Because those those things that we are stressing about, those outcomes that we desperately want to see, those are the very things that could directly impact the intangible qualities that we should be concerned about. The condition of our heart And so what what is being communicated here is that seek the kingdom of God above all else. The intangible stuff. And we we already know this. The kingdom of God is the complete opposite of what the world would expect it to be. The kingdom of God is the complete opposite of what the world expects it to be. And we see that in the person of Jesus, God in the flesh. But hold on one second. Put a pin in that. Seek the kingdom of God. Verse 33. Matthew 6:33. Seek seek the kingdom of God above all all else. Above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. We're stressing about the wrong things. We're up at night worried about the wrong things. We're anxious about the wrong things. If we were simply concerned and and and stressed about the things of God, the condition of our heart, our faithfulness, our our our relationship with God, our our prayer, our intimacy with God, our dependence, our our obedience with God, our humility, our concern for our neighbor, praying for our enemies. If we were more concerned about that, the outcomes that we're stressed about would actually be turned into God giving us all the things that we need truly. And what we want in the flesh oftent times is completely different than what we need. And just as our earthly parents know how to g give good gifts, how much more do you think our father in heaven understands that? How much more do you think our father in heaven understands what we need? This is so interesting speaking about we understand that the kingdom of God is upside down, right? The world has a completely different view of what the kingdom of God is. And often times we find ourselves stressed out a and operating our day-to-day life with a level of anxiety that is comparable to unbelievers. Matthew 20. Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor. Verse 21. What is your request? He asked. She replied, "In your kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left." But Jesus answered by saying to them, "You don't know what you're asking. Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering? I'm about to drink." "Oh yes," they replied, "we are able." Jesus told them, "You will indeed drink from my bitter cup, but I have no right to say who will sit on my right or my left. My father has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen." When the 10 other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant.
[music] But Jesus called them together and said, "You know what? The rulers in this world, Lord, you know that the the rulers in this world lord it over their people and officials flaunt their authority over those under them, but among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be the first among you must be your slave. For even the son of man came not to be served but to serve others and give his life as a ransom for many. So Jesus is saying the rulers in this in this world they they lord it over the people. They flaunt it. The authority that the rulers of this world have they flaunt it. They be flexing it over the people. But the son of man, Jesus, God in the flesh, the one who actually deserves the [music] glory, the one who actually deserves the worship, the one if anybody can flaunt or flex the authority, it's him. But he came not to be served, but to serve. Completely upside down. It's completely upside down. And often times the things that we are worried about, the things that we are stressed about completely upside down upside down in relation to the kingdom of God. And once again, that's what the unbelievers stress about. That's how the unbelievers operate. That's the world view that the unbelievers have. Surely as believers in Jesus Christ, we should be operating apart from the unbelievers. We should be set apart. That's holiness. Holiness is to be set apart. So if we are operating in the same capacity that the unbelievers are, what does that say about us? What are we actually concerned about? Psalm 51 verse 10. Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. It's not a it's not simply about the outcome. It's about who you're becoming in that process. And I know that's so cliche. But God is an examiner of our hearts. He's not simply examining the outcomes. If that were the case, then we could do whatever we wanted. We could treat people however we wanted to treat them. We could act as terribly as we wanted, knowing that we are doing wrong to people, knowing that we're finessing, knowing that we're scamming, but because the outcomes are good according to the world, then that's good with God. That's not how it works. That's not how it works. Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and and renew a right spirit within me. Matthew 5:8, blessed are the pure in heart. For they shall see God. We could we we should be up at night stressed, worried, concerned, anxious about the condition of our heart, not the outcomes that we are trying to produce for ourselves here on this earth in this flesh. We're worried about the wrong things. We're anxious about the wrong things. and and and guess what? We've been conditioned to do so. We've been trained by the world on the ways that they believe we should feel and the things that we should stress about. We need to wholeheartedly go to God and ask for help in terms of the condition of our heart. Create in me a new heart. Oh God, please allow me to seek you with a passion that far exceeds any other desire that I have for anything else here on this earth. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. And guess what? At the end of the day, when we put the outcome fully on God, it is always going to be better than we could ever ask for, think of, or imagine. Cuz that just is how it works. That is the nature of God. That's what he does. That's what he did. That's what he is coming back to restore. I don't have anything else to say. Let me know what you think. Get in my comments.
