Rare's Big Plan For Season 15!

There seems to be a decent amount of confusion in the community around this topic. I've gotten quite a few comments wondering where most of the season's content is. So much was announced, and only the two Megs, the Hunters Call Emissary, and their fishing voyages were added after the patch. So I wanted to make a quick video talking about this, just to get the information to anybody who might be looking for it.

Right before patch day, Sea of Thieves announced that they really don't want this season to turn out like the last season, with a lot of stuff being broken for a very long time. Just in case you didn't play last season, just know that nearly everything that was put into the game when season 14 launched was taken out within like a week. We didn't see everything fixed until nearly a month later. To combat this and make sure they can keep the performance and quality of the game up as things get implemented, they're going to be releasing all of the seasonal stuff in smaller phases over the course of the season, rather than all at once.

Here's how we'll see stuff coming to the game. Phase one took place a couple of days ago, giving us most of the normal stuff we see in seasonal updates: new pets, Outpost shop updates, Emporium updates, bug fixes, and the Plunder Pass. Then we also got our first seasonal content update, which included the two brand new Megs—the Barnacle Dread and the Feared Redma. We also got Hunters Call NPCs coming to Outposts, which now have updated faction shops, fishing voyages, and Emissary flags. And we also, of course, got all of the brand new Hunter's Call loop.

Phase 2 will be happening in March. We'll be seeing the new hunting spear that we saw in one of the teasers, along with the wildlife update. This could include things we haven't seen yet, but boars, lizards, more seagulls, and jellyfish have been confirmed. Med, also, this is a little bit of a side note, but why is the word "jellyfish" censored in Sea of Thieves?

Then in April, near the end of the season, we'll be seeing the phase 3 update. This will include boar hunting voyages, as well as on-demand Megalodon hunting voyages. So far, we don't have a whole lot of information about what these will look like, but I'm excited for them nonetheless. I'd also speculate that this is when we'll be seeing the Meg curse. I think that's slowly releasing the update to ensure service stability and quality control overall is probably a good choice, but what do you think?
