This might be the most advanced deck system in the US right now. No more shaky platforms, no more beams rotting out after 2 years. This is the well-known Insta Deck system. It's made from high strength polymer, lightweight, but built to carry serious weight, and it makes deck building way simpler.
The core is a modular grid with a pressure lock design. Each panel snaps into the next. The tolerance is down to fractions of an inch. I decided to test it in my own backyard to see if it actually lives up to the hype.
First, remove the grass. Level the ground roughly. It doesn't have to be perfect. Here's the impressive part. The base panels are self-leveling. No laser level, no thick gravel base. The structure adjusts to minor uneven spots on its own.
Lay down landscape fabric, then connect the grid modules by hand. Line them up, press down, they lock tight. Next comes the deck boards. Composite boards or natural wood both work. They snap into preset clips built into the system. Tap them lightly with a rubber mallet. They're secured instantly. That's it.
The finished deck looks clean and solid. Water drains easily.
