Well, I'll tell you what. This is bound to merit a lengthy, grammatically flawed Truth Social post.
So, we have the spectacle of my successor in the Oval Office making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproved. And the the degree to which, um, that undermines public health. The degree to which that can do harm to women who are pregnant, all of that, um, is a is violence against the truth.
It appears that former President Barack Obama has had enough of sitting on the sidelines. You look at his comments last week. And so when I hear, uh, not just our current president but his aides who have a history of calling political opponents vermin, enemies who need to be targeted. That speaks to a broader problem that we have right now. And and something that we're going to have to grapple with. All of us, whether we're Democrats, Republicans, independents, uh, we we have to recognize that on both sides, undoubtedly there are people who are extremists and who say things that are contrary to what I believe are America's core values. But I will say that those extreme views were not in my White House.
And today, in a speech at an event in London, he held Donald Trump to account, arguing that what we are seeing is not just political spin, but a sustained assault on the truth. And in the wake of Trump's hyperbole-filled bananas UN speech the other day, a rebuttal like this is needed.
The American public agrees with it. I mean, I was very proud to see this morning I have the highest poll numbers I've ever had. Part of it is because of what we've done on the border. I guess the other part is what we've done in the economy before.
Why do you think that's that people are going to feel that? Because we we do see polling that doesn't pull well in the economy. The the recent Fox polling said 52% say the economy is worse under this administration. You got unemployment at the highest rate in four years. Um, groceries made a big jump in the last term. So, how is that you're looking forward with these plans that you just talked about? When will people feel that, Mr.
Obama publicly condemned Trump's claim that taking Tylenol during pregnancy causes autism, calling it, quote, a violence against the truth. And he warned that such claims not only mislead, but they undermine public health and trust, which used to be something we agreed on and now not so much. So we can help them to bend the moral.
Yeah. Okay. You know.
Also, especially young people, cuz it's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on and who are afraid of death and insignificance and they won't let go. And you know, they build pyramids and they put their names on everything and they're just they get very they're very anxious about it.
History is not short of those figures, sadly. Neither is is the present.

The degree to which that creates anxiety for parents who do have children who are autistic, which by the way itself, is subject to a spectrum. And a lot of what is being, uh, trumpeted as these massive increases actually have to do with a broadening of the criteria across that spectrum. So that people can actually get services and help. Not to it's it's all of that, um, is a is violence against the truth.
And this comes just a day after Trump made sweeping claims that he has, quote, ended seven wars, that inflation was defeated, that grocery prices were down under his watch, and that climate change was the biggest con job in history. All of which were epically fact-checked by CNN's Daniel Dale on the spot.
There are a lot of issues there. So, first of all, some of the conflicts he's counting as wars he resolved were not actually wars at all. Uh, for example, Egypt and Ethiopia have argued over an Ethiopian dam project on the Blue Nile, but they were not in a raging war in which thousands of people were being killed. Similarly, he's Trump has claimed that he prevented conflict between Serbia and Kosovo from resuming resuming, but they were not in a raging war either. Uh, in addition, the conflict involving the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighboring Rwanda has not actually been resolved. Uh, we have good reporting from just a day ago talking about how hostilities have continued despite the peace deal that was signed under President Trump. And then in addition to that, India denies that President Trump was responsible for mediating, uh, its ceasefire, its truce with neighboring Pakistan. So a whole lot of issues with just that one claim. And Pamela, there were a whole bunch of other claims that were just out and out false. So I don't even have time to run through all of them. But on inflation, President Trump said that grocery prices are down during this presidency. They're up and the pace of the increases is accelerating as the tariffs take, uh, take effect. Uh, he has claimed that inflation has been defeated in general. No, inflation is also accelerating. It was 2.9% last month, up from 2.7%. He said that European electricity bills are high, which is true, but that ours are coming way down. No, in the US, they are increasing sharply, up 6.2% in August compared to a year prior. Uh, and there were a whole bunch of other topics. He claimed that he has secured 17 trillion in investment in the US. Well, just yesterday, his own White House press secretary said it was about 9 trillion in investment. So, I don't know where the additional 8 trillion in a day has come from. And even that initial n trillion that press secretary claimed is highly dubious counting a whole bunch of things that aren't actually spending but rather are vague commitments from various countries. You and Kylie address the environmental claims. I just want to address one more. He claimed that China builds a lot of wind turbines and manufactures them for others but refuses to use it, uh, itself barely uses wind power. In fact, China is the world leader in the use of wind power. It is building additional wind power in China, uh, far faster than the pace at which the US is building, uh, in the United States itself. So the idea that China just, you know, foisting this terrible source of energy on other countries while refusing to use it is a reversal of reality.
But I want to say this right. Are we really surprised that the president is waging a war on truth? This is the same man that was on record lying more than 30,000 times during his first term where in which when faced with an unprecedented global pandemic, he would get in front of the American people and claim it would just go away like the flu before rhyming off potential methods to combat COVID without the council of medical professionals.
Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, uh, whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light. And I think you said that hasn't been checked, but you're going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, you can, which you can do either through the skin or, uh, in some other way. And I think you said you're going to test that too. Sounds interesting.
Right. And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, uh, by injection inside or, or almost a cleaning because you see it gets on the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it'd be interesting to check that. So that you're going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds, it sounds interesting to me.
Yes. It's not surprising that this man is leading an administration overseeing violence against the truth which puts people's health in jeopardy. I think it's impossible to listen to Donald Trump appearing on the international stage and not think this man is literally unhinged, irresponsible, bizarre, bonkers, ludicrous. I don't even know why his staff are allowing him to stand in front of a mic at this point. It was completely incoherent. And you know, I have many, uh, other let's say less polite even responses, but he's completely undermining US authority on the global stage. He's undermining global peace. He's calling into question the purpose of the UN. He canceled UN UN funding. And here he is lobbying to get a peace prize. And the man is literally, uh, cozing up to our foreign adversaries. I mean, it's wildly irresponsible.
As Obama claimed, it's not about partisanship. It's about restoring the notion that certain claims must be held to a standard, even when they come from the leader of said country. Fact that a CNN journalist is treated not as a critic, but as a necessity during one of Trump's speeches, signals just how unreliable the information is.
