I want to make a very important clarification about destiny, and please listen attentively to the clarification I'm going to make, he says. I noticed there's a big misunderstanding of the concept of destiny, even among well-informed believers and spiritually minded people. Destiny is about certain things and events that God, God.
Now, in this, by the time you begin to check and research on destiny, you discover that many times in the secular world, destiny can be defined without the God factor, and that is incorrect. Because not every future event is destined, it's part of your destiny. Not everything you would do in life is part of your destiny. And there are people who assume, and wrongly, that everything that will happen in your future is your destiny. It's wrong, it's very, very wrong.
Destiny is about certain things and events that God has already predetermined in the spirit realm that are supposed to subsequently happen here on earth in certain lives, families, nations, locations. Some aspects of destiny are often timed to happen at a certain time or season, year on earth. And from the Holy Book, the Bible, we find examples of destinies that were revealed ahead of time. In every generation, we see people benefiting from the predetermined events of destiny, and they include, I will just talk about two of them.
First, Samson. And you see the revelation of the destiny of this child, of the man, Samson, even before he was conceived. In Judges chapter 13, verses 2 to 5, God is the one responsible for writing down your destiny and the destiny of any man, any woman, any child before we are born.
The second person was John the Baptist. Luke chapter 1, verses 13 to 17. God has a book of destiny. Psalm 139, verse 16. God has a book of destiny. And unknown to you, many times when you pray in the spirit, when you pray in tongues, one of the consequences in the spiritual realm is that it opens the way for angels to take up your book of destiny and open it up to see what is supposed to be fulfilled now or soon afterwards. And when they read it, they get into action. That is part of the benefit that comes when you are praying in the spirit, among other benefits.
On verse 2, he says, "Some wise men from the East arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 'Where is the newborn king of the Jews?'" Now, let me talk about the star. Your star is a spiritual indicator of the ultimate height of your divine destiny. Your star doesn't show your years of preparation. Your star does not reveal your years of waiting. Your star reveals that major high point of your life and your destiny, according to the script of God. Your star is a spiritual indicator of what you are supposed to become, what your son, your daughter is supposed to become at some time in life. At some time in life, you have not yet become that thing, but you carry your star, revealed that all things being equal, following godly direction and counsel, this is what you have a potential of becoming sometime in life. And you know this through your star.
Your divine destiny can be foreseen. Your divine destiny can be discovered. Unfortunately, this can also be achieved by the enemy and his agents using demonic powers. Agents of the occult can see the star of a child as early as within 21 days of conception, not delivery, within 21 days of conception, within the first month of conception. Agents of the occult can see what that child, the star that that child carries. So through your star, your divine destiny can be foreseen, it can be discovered. And this can happen through divine revelation, it can also happen through demonic means. Your star, or divine destiny, can be discovered well ahead of time, even before your physical birth. I've been emphasizing this, and we have scriptural examples of men like Samson, King Cyrus, John the Baptist. These are men whose divine destinies were revealed before they are born.
Now, let me make a major clarification on, on the, the concept of destiny. Destiny is not everything that will happen in your lifetime. Destiny is not everything that will happen in your future. Why? There is what is called the permissive will of God. The permissive will of God. The perfect will of God can be successfully hindered. The perfect will of God can be delayed. It can be rejected, even by the beneficiary. The man that God actually ordained for you as a single sister, as your husband, you can reject him. And when that persists, at a point in time, that opportunity will be given to someone else. The perfect will of God can be rejected. It can be changed. It can be changed. It can be given to someone else. The perfect will of God can be set aside by men, by powerful forces. The perfect will of God can be abandoned. And people now, and someone, including even a minister of God, is now pursuing something that is outside the perfect will of God for his life or ministry. The perfect will of God can be stopped completely.
Now, to strengthen or to deepen what we are saying here, God can subsequently change or replace someone He had initially chosen. God can change someone He had initially chosen. God can replace someone He had initially chosen. So that is a big lesson to us that as we move on in life, we must at the end of the day focus more on what God is saying now, and not what God said in the past.
First Kings chapter 17. And the Lord gave an instruction, verse 1. Truth, verse 4, to the prophet Elijah. "Go to Cherith and hide there, and there was going to be provision to feed him there. The ravens would bring him bread twice daily, and the brook was going to be flowing with water to take care of him." Now, after a while, God, by His own initiative, decided to move Elijah to somewhere else and continue His promise of provision. And the Lord said to him, in verse 8 through 9, "Go to Zarephath, for I have commanded a widow there to feed thee." Now, should Elijah have, having heard this new and most current instruction, would Elijah, would you expect Elijah now to hold on to what God said earlier and refuse to leave Cherith?
So in your journey in life, there will be times where God will give a new instruction that is different and sometimes contradictory to the previous instruction. What you need to do, two things: One, you must verify. Ask God prayerfully whether it is truly God that is speaking. Confirm what you are hearing now. And when it is clear that is God speaking, you must obey what He is saying now. May the Lord give you more grace to hear His voice clearly, in the name of Jesus.
So God can subsequently change or replace someone He had initially chosen, or refuse to do what He had initially promised, as clearly stated in these scriptures. In Jeremiah chapter 18, verses 7 to 10, very important scripture. Jeremiah 18:7-10. It says, I'm reading from the Amplified Bible. It says, "At one moment I might suddenly speak concerning a nation or kingdom that I will uproot and break down and destroy." This was, this, he says, this could sometimes be His initial pronouncement. Now, take note of verse 8. He says, "If that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent and reverse my decision concerning the devastation that I intended to do."
A classic example of these was God's word to Nineveh through the prophet Jonah. God commissioned the prophet Jonah to take His word to Nineveh and tell them, "Within 40 days, Nineveh will be destroyed." But the moment they received the word, the king mobilized the people, and immediately they did two things: they prayed and fasted, one, and then they turned from their wicked ways. And when God saw them do those two things, the destruction that God Himself said will happen in 40 days did not happen. It did not happen. And that did not in any way now make the prophet Jonah a fake prophet. Did you now genuinely hear from God? The first time he heard from God, did God give him that message to Nineveh? God gave him the message. Was that message fulfilled? No. Why? Because they changed from their evil ways before the day of judgment.
And then verse 9 says, "Or at another time, I might suddenly speak out about a nation or a kingdom that I will build up or establish, and if they do evil in my sight by not obeying my voice, then I will reverse my decision concerning the good with which I had promised to bless them."
In Exodus chapter 3, verses 7 to 8. Exodus 3:7-8. God promised the people of Israel two major things: one, to bring them out of Egypt. That was the phase one of His move. And two, to bring them into the land of promise. However, due to the sins and disobedience of the people, only the first part of God's promise was eventually fulfilled. Did Moses lie when he told the people that God was going to take them out of Egypt and into the promised land? He didn't lie, but only one part was fulfilled.
In 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5. 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5. We find from the Easy-to-Read version, he said, "But God was not pleased with most of those people," referring to the generation of Israel that came out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses. So they were killed in the desert. This was not the original intention of God.
So in God's permissive will, when people refuse to do what God has instructed or led them to do, God will not force them to comply. Instead, He allows or permits them to continue with their personal choice. Don't call that your divine destiny. You are pursuing your personal agenda, your personal ambition. And interestingly, God will help you to some extent, even in your own personal agenda. As you pursue your personal ambition, God will also help you, but He's not compelled to. And certainly, the help of God, I will come, cannot be compelled to the kind of help you would have received from God if you were instead walking in the direction of His own will for you.
In God's permissive will, God's instruction can be set aside, and something else is carried out. And we see the greater the level of wickedness in any environment, the more you see this in manifestation. God's preferred choice can be rejected or set aside. Listen to this. In the permissive will of God, the person that God does not want can still be chosen. The person that God does not want can be appointed. The person that God does not want can be elected. The person that God does not want can be promoted. The person that God does not want can be enthroned. And the person that God does not want can be imposed by men due to human influence or demonic manipulations. It's happening every day. So in the permissive will of God, God allows men or evil forces to successfully delay or postpone repeatedly something that should have happened earlier. Praise hear the Lord. You.
