from data centers. They are the backbone of AI technology. Data centers. Or half dozen data centers have been proposed.
This video shows one opponent who chanted recall at a city meeting last December. She's handcuffed and physically removed from the meeting by police. He got a letter from his utility company saying it plans to build a massive power line for the data center right across his property. "I had no choice. Uh and basically they're saying that if you don't agree, we'll take it by eminent domain. They'll just take over your land. Yeah. And we'll fight it to the end. And we'll fight it to the end. To the end."
The American dream, is it still obtainable or is it just that, a dream? As you can tell, my backdrop is a little different. I'm at a cemetery. But this isn't just any cemetery. Well, to me anyways, this is my family's cemetery. I have over 50 family members buried right here. Most of them were farmers right here in a certain amount of miles in a circle of land. My family farmed this land. We grew up here. We have hundreds of acres or well, had hundreds of acres.
So what is the point in all this? We're going to talk about something that is taking over what I would consider the American dream. Let's talk about it. Oddly enough, I spend a lot of time here. And it's not because I'm mourning the loss of loved ones or what most people would go to a cemetery for, but it's actually I am mourning the loss of a older life. I come here to the cemetery because literally my direct family all the way back to some sixth and seventh generation or great grandfathers and grandmothers you would call them are right here. See, my family settled here in the Ozarks in the very early 1800s. Actually, both sides of my family settled here in the Ozarks in the early 1800s. But it wasn't until my great-grandmother's side that they really established some very large farms and mills right here. So whenever I come here to this cemetery, I often think about how hard people had to work. The life that they lived, how they had to farm their own vegetables. They had to raise their own food. They were responsible from sunup to sundown. Basically, if they lived to see another day. There was no call for helps, especially here in the Ozarks. This is one of the last developed places even whenever things started getting industrialized. This was one of the last places.
So what does this have to do with today's video? Let me show you. So there are very few things in the outside world that I ever concerned myself with. Most of the drama, most of all the accusations I see on the news, a little bit of news I do watch or see on the internet, I really don't concern myself with. I don't stress about it and I don't worry about it. But there is one particular thing that it had me slightly concerned in the beginning, but now I'm honestly very concerned. And I've tried to not let this bother me. Matter of fact, back in December I'd started filming a video to put on my channel talking about this exact subject. And that is these data centers. But I didn't publish it. And always in the back of my mind, especially 3 months ago, 6 months ago, I I kind of always just assumed these data centers were only going to be in the big city. It was going to be another LA problem. It was going to be another major city problem. Boy, how I was wrong.
So what I actually have here is this is the family farms. Kind of why I started the video off in the cemetery. My family has been here for hundreds, well, almost hundreds of years. For a very long time. I spent pretty much everything I had to be able to keep this farm in my family. Thousands of dollars. As you can see, I have piles of trees here that I haven't been able to burn because well, I don't even have the time right now. And just the cost to do anything and run machines is is pretty expensive right now. >> [snorts] >> So I have spent thousands of dollars on this property. Myself and my wife. And this is the problem we are running into in the Ozarks. So we're really going to break down three major issues that are happening right now. One, >> [snorts] >> one of these data centers, right here I was reading an article the other day, a $8 billion data center is being put 15 miles from this very farm right here. And then about another 2 hours away, there is another data center that is a $10 billion data center that our governor and someone else had made a partnership with. The problem with these data centers is is you start speaking about billions of dollars. You know what? Whenever I hear the word billion, that means that the only people that are going to profit from this are the billionaires, not we the people. And the reason I'm getting all bent out of shape about these data centers is because I have now realized that they are going into places where land is still obtainable. The reason that I bought this farm and the reason that I was willing to basically reverse myself in the direction I was heading. At the way me and my wife were working, I was pretty well probably going to be able to retire at I would say 45 years old, which isn't that far from right now. But I was given the opportunity where I could buy, you know, my direct family members out that had inherited a lot of this land and they gave me a decent price on it, but I still had to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain hundreds of acres of land. Now with that being said, I took this operation on because I wanted to keep it in the family, but ultimately I wanted to have another way to make money. And there's a few things happening here. Not saying that I can't still make money on this property, but really that American dream is dead. And I'm going to explain to you why.
Number one, beef right now is at an all-time high. I initially bought this land because I was going to update the fencing during my time off of work. I was going to take a year off and just spend all of my money and my time and basically making the channel while I was upkeeping this property. But here's the problem with that. Beef and cow are unattainable right now. Um and there's a back end to this as well because not only is it outrageous to try to buy cattle right now, there is no one in their right mind that is a young person that one is going to be able to afford the land to buy and then two, be able to go out and buy cattle to put on the land and then have the years and patience and know-how to raise those cattle to get calves to then start making a profit. This thing takes 20 years. My neighbor back here has 450 acres. He's the closest farm to me and he has been in the cattle industry for 25 years and just now really starting to make a profit. And that's only because he's invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into the land and to the labor himself. Well, now we have another issue. Data centers. Here's the problem about whenever you go to buy a piece of property like this. Let's say you the viewer is watching this land and you want to buy a piece of property in Arkansas. Well, there's two ways that's going to go down. Hopefully you have cash. Because now the people that are buying the land up here are billionaires and they have the cash. Therefore, if you're just a regular person, a we the people kind of person, you're going to need to go to a bank. You're going to need to come up with a down payment. You're going to need to do a contract. You're going to need to do paperwork. You're going to need to have the ability to wire the money, transfer the money, sit down and have a meeting versus well, these huge billion-dollar companies, they make a phone call to the landowner and they wire them the money instantly and they obtain the land. Now keep in mind, I was never worried about this up until right now because I never thought this would happen in rural Arkansas. But I have been watching YouTube videos and shorts of people showing rural land all over the United States and it is becoming these data centers. Now, we have already established that a young person no longer can afford to farm or have the know-how or the time or the family that even wants to go in that. So how many young people, how many of these Gen X's or or millennials and down are truly going to want to farm? Because I can tell you as someone that had a great paying job and was able to save money and invest money, now I'm stuck with two large farms that I can't buy cows to put on them. I barely can afford the fencing and the government funding that I have applied for to get help from the government to help me with the fencing, there's not a whole lot of money left in those because they have realized that they don't have to pay farmers anymore. They really don't. Now, not saying that those programs don't still exist, but the problem we have here is even if I did get fencing put up, what do you think I'm going to do? Just go out and use all the money that I spent on purchasing this property in a down payment and the taxes? You think I'm just going to have enough to magically go out and buy cattle? No. So we eliminate that. You can't afford to farm on your land. Well, now you can't afford to even buy the land because as a landowner myself, if I was in a life or death situation where I had to sell my land, who do you think I'm going to want to work with the most? If I'm a morally good person, I would want to work with the local farmers or a local family here and keep it local. But nine out of 10, we know that's not the reality we live in. This farm is going to get sold to some billion-dollar tech company just like this farm right here. So this particular farm that was sold was 130 acres and it is going to be a 360,000 square foot building. There's going to be six of these. This is 15 miles from this farm right here. 360,000 square foot building near Johnson Regional Medical Center. It's going to be right next to a medical center. >> [snorts] >> So just let that sink in. I'm in rural Arkansas. And this is what we have right here from the Ozark Mountains. We're in the most beautiful place that I have ever found. There's a reason why I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain this property, to live here, to create a lifestyle for my family and my children to where they can see the freedoms of living in America. But now, you've obtained the land, you've bought it, can't afford the upkeep of it, you damn sure can't afford any farming to put on it. And now, the other land that you could want to buy or get into this market, it doesn't exist because it's going to be bought up by data centers.
I don't want this to come across as complaining, but well, I kind of do because I want to kind of lay this out for you. I don't know anyone that is for these. I truly don't. I have never met anyone that is like us and probably the majority of the people watching this video that wants these data centers. What is the outcome? What good is going to happen with these data centers? How much is it going to take before we, the people, decide to stand up? You know, I was watching a video the other day and it was showing these people protesting against the data centers. You know why the government allows us to protest? Because it doesn't do any good. Um they they have clearly understood that uh over the last 10, 15, 20 years, protesting really doesn't get you a whole lot of anywhere. So, my question is is when is enough enough? I always said I would never involve myself in what the masses are doing. Um you know, because it didn't affect me. I've always lived out here and and had a lifestyle where we could kind of avoid some of that. But now, it's in our backyard and I have to almost be careful how I word this. But I think you are going to eventually get people that can pull their heads out of their phones and realize that they're willing to break free of the chains of this system to fight for a little bit of freedom because what has happened is this society and this government and these billion-dollar companies have figured out how to get the normal free-thinking people to no longer be free-thinking, but [snorts] be way too afraid to stand up and speak up against what is wrong because one, if you do, you're going to lose your job, or two, um you don't have time. Everybody I know right now is working multiple jobs, three day three jobs, two jobs, seven days a week, or they've worked their tail off to get a retirement and then they go back to work, or they can't even retire. How are you going to have time to stand up for what these billion dollar worth companies are doing to you if you are tied to a system to where if you don't show up, well, you don't have power. You don't have a job. When is the people's breaking point where they are willing to lose that before they lose everything? Because that is the only direction I can see any of this going. And I hate to use the word conspiracy theory because 5, 6, 10 years ago, I probably would have thought data centers and this thing happening, especially where I'm at, would be a conspiracy theory, but it's not. And it's happening right now. And we're at a time right now where the generation of land owners are dying off left and right. Their children don't want the land. The way I was able to obtain even this property is because no other person in my immediate family was dumb enough to be willing to spend their inheritance or their retirement or whatever it may be. I didn't get an inheritance. No one in my immediate family did. But no one was dumb enough to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on this property and the other farm that I bought. And I had to ask myself the other day when I seen the check that was uh written or seen the amount that was written for the data center going just right down the road, what would I do in that situation? And I can tell you what I would do in that situation. I would be willing to sell everything I have and give away everything I have to make sure that this piece of property isn't a data center. We have to put a stop to this. This is the craziest video I thought that I would make on my channel, but this is not a future that I think any of us want to be involved with. There's only one reason the government wants these data centers, and it is to only benefit them. This is not going to benefit we, the people. And I hated to turn this video into some sort of wine fest, wine, not like drinking wine, but whining fest, because that's essentially what this sounds like. But I wanted to say this on my small platform that these are popping up in rural America. These are pop popping up in the Ozarks. These are taking over. And if we don't take a stand, this is exactly what is going to happen everywhere. We are no longer going to have land. We are no longer going to even be able to afford it. They are pricing us out of our own towns. No one in their right mind, especially the people of these small towns, can even compare to the money that is being funded for these data centers. The average people of this town, everybody put together, doesn't make the money that we could even buy or come close to matching what a data center from California is willing to pay for the property. We're pricing ourselves out of America. We already don't own the national forest. Just research that. Now, we're about to not even own our own property because I can almost guarantee you if I fight tooth and nail and I keep this land right here, probably within the next 10 years, they're going to tax me out of this so hard that I won't have any other choice. But I can assure you right now, I hope that there are enough men and women and people that can band together and stop this [ __ ] because I don't know what else we can do, but I know where I stand on it. And I wanted to make this video because maybe it'll get your wheels turning. I want to leave everybody with this right here. This is a quote that I found whenever I purchased my first farm. You you don't own this land. Um even though I pay the taxes on it and I'm here, I don't own it. This is actually just borrowed land. The person that owns this is going to be my daughter and her daughter. So, all I'm on is borrowed land. And to know that the billionaires are about to scoop all of this up, just kind of drives me crazy. Glad we talked about it.
