Great, we're back again. And you're all so very, very open. It's wonderful. What to think, what to do next? You know, I've been preaching for years and doing things for years, and it's always the same. God help me. What do I do next? It shouldn't be like that, but it is, I'm afraid. It just is.
Okay, well, we, I want to share in this next session, and I want to pick up where I started in the last session when we talked about sonship design. And it involved the best way I could get you to picture it. And I haven't got anything to put up on the screen. But if you were to take three circles, or just put a circle and then put another one that interlocks with it, and then a third one so they all interlock together. Just put the three circles. And on top one, right, intimacy. And on the one on the side, right, assignment. Ministry, serving. Assignment. And then on the other one, right, transformation, maturity. And you'll see this little spot they all connect. In other words, there's something, there's a place where all of them interact with one another. And that represents the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who, who helps in every aspect of our sonship.
So, I won't go, I don't want to go into sonship. I want to go into something else, but just want you to see this, and then you'll see what we're going to talk about in this session, how to work with the Holy Spirit. So, for example, in intimacy, Ephesians 2:18 says, "We have access to the Father by one Spirit." So, the Holy Spirit gives you the access and enables you to get into the presence of the Father. Not only that, 1 Corinthians 2:9 and beyond tells us that the Holy Spirit reveals to us the things of the Father, reveals to us what the Father has freely given us. So, when it comes to intimacy, you need the Holy Spirit. Intimacy, the Holy Spirit helps us with the whole process of intimacy.
Then we look at the area of our assignment. Acts 1:8, "To do the assignment, wait till you receive power from on high." You can't do the assignment without the flow of power. In Romans 8:14, "Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God." So, assignments mean I need to be led by the Holy Spirit and empowered by the Spirit to fulfill my assignment.
And then thirdly, the area of maturity or transformation. Uh, Romans tells us in 8:29, "We are to be conformed or shaped to become like Christ," but it's the Holy Spirit who does it. 2 Corinthians 3:18, uh, tells us, "We are changed into that same image by the Spirit."
Now, I don't want to do teaching on it all. I just want to show you that the Holy Spirit is central to all our sonship. He's central to our intimacy. He's central to our assignment in fulfilling our assignment. He's essential to our transformation because he knows the heart, searches the heart, can show us the places we need healing and transformation. He's the one who helps us and changes us into the image of Christ. So, you notice then, we're dependent on someone to help us. Jesus said, "I will give you another Comforter, another one just like me." Comforter, someone who comes alongside you as your helper. So, the, the Holy Spirit is assigned to us. Assigned to us. And so, he has a number of things he's assigned to do. I won't teach on all of that. I just want to use these illustrations or first points to show you the need to be able to work with the Holy Spirit. We just need to learn how to work with the Holy Spirit.
So, I'm going to just share some very practical things that I have learned related to that, and, and then we'll just, uh, you and demonstrate some of these things. So, if I'm going to work with the Holy Spirit, that's the title of this, uh, session, working with the Holy Spirit. I must be able to do at least four things. Number one, I must learn how to yield my inner life to the Holy Ghost. I have to learn to yield to him. Surrender is not something that comes easily. People want to always be in control. So, there is a warfare. Who will be in charge? Who will be in control? And the broken parts of my life will fight to stay in control. So, surrender or yielding to the Holy Spirit is a daily experience. It's a lifelong experience. I need to hear and respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit. So, I need to be able to recognize him speaking to me. If I'm going to work with him, I need to recognize when he's talking, communicating with me. Three, I need to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit in my life and ministry and decision-making. How to be led by the Holy Spirit. And finally, I need to learn how to minister the life and power of the Spirit.
So, you can see just by putting those four things up, there could be a lot of sessions on just those things on the Holy Spirit, working with him. I'll try to condense it down and get it to just some things I feel the Holy Spirit wants to bring to us today. So, let's just talk about then yielding to the Holy Spirit, surrendering to him. Surrendering to him. Yielding to him. How do I yield him? So, there's some things that the Bible tells us as direct commands. Here's the first one, don't grieve him. If you're going to yield to him, don't tick him off. In other, don't, don't. It says, "Don't grieve the Holy Spirit." So, it tells believers in Ephesians 4:29 through right through to verse 5:5, uh, it, it, it tells us there, "Don't grieve the Holy Spirit." To grieve means to cause an immense amount of sorrow or distress. He's your friend to help you, so don't really do things that really keep hurting him all the time. And most Christians are unaware of this. They're unaware of it. And, and that's where the problem is. If you're unaware of what he likes and what he dislikes, there's going to be a problem because you'll do things he doesn't like and be unaware.
So, I just find here, see if I can find it here, the, the, the scripture there. We'll just go into Ephesians chapter 4. I want to move on on this. Let's really get through this. I want to talk about the practical aspect. And, uh, verse, verse, um, verse 29. "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what's good for edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And don't grieve the Holy Spirit by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil speaking be put away with you with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." So, people know that they've been around a while, they know that.
So, here's the thing. The Holy Spirit is very sensitive. Holy Spirit has feelings. Has a personality. He's a person, not a force. And so, when it says, "Don't grieve the Holy Spirit," that statement is made in the midst of other statements. And what grieves the Holy Spirit, if you look at all of those statements that are made there, it's how you treat other people. It's violating the law of love is what grieves him. This is what grieves him. We grieve the Holy Spirit in the way we do life and relationships. So, grieving the Holy Spirit has to do with life and relationships. And we'll come to the next one, don't quench the Holy Spirit. That has to do with ministry and flowing with him. So, don't grieve the Holy Spirit.
So, notice there, as we read what it tells us, "Don't grieve the Spirit," it's in the context of him, how we're treating people. It says, "Don't let any corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but rather words that will build and impart grace." "Don't let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and arguing and evil speaking be put away from you also with all malice." Now, you notice there, all the things it talks about, basically, it boils down to words, how you speak, and secondly, how you treat people. God is watching every interaction you have. And people get, we can, it's easy to get puffed up with all our knowledge and revelation and forget we're called to represent our Father and love people. Treat people with honor, treat people with respect, treat people as people of great value and great potential, and withhold judgments about them. It doesn't mean we don't speak the truth and evaluate things, but it's to do with your attitude to people. How you treat them.
And so, you notice there are three things that he, he talks about. Number one, he talks about words, the kind of way we speak to one another, the way we treat one another with our words. Secondly, he talks about, uh, in the area of bitterness and, and malice. That's holding hard attitudes towards people, anger and unforgiveness, essentially. And if you go on to, uh, chapter 5 and the first four verses, he then very much focuses on your internal life and keeping yourself clean from sexual defilement. So, notice then, three things then that grieve him. So, if you're going to build a relationship with someone, find what they like and do it. Find what they don't like and stop it. It's not kind of rocket science, is it? Uh, most of this stuff isn't rocket science. Sometimes I really, I look at it and I think, this is so simple it passes everyone. Everyone knows this stuff. But often we just need to be reminded again.
So, you need to guard your words. Are the words you're speaking, are they filled with the spirit of love that builds people up, or are they judging, criticizing, tearing them down, negative? What are you, what is the river of your life? In the way you treat people, can you get over and give grace to people? Can you get over offenses? Can you learn to speak the truth instead of bearing the anger and then feeling ill will towards people, especially in marriage? And, and then finally, what are you letting happen in your inner world and tolerating in terms of the kind of conversations we have and the things that are talked about? Are you allowing defilement to come into your life? These things grieve the Holy Spirit. And when they grieve the Holy Spirit, there's a loss of peace, there's a loss of joy and life. Doesn't mean you're not at church and doing your stuff. It's just you're not a light carrier. And, and the, the joy diminishes. It's just, it's just the influence is so slow you don't notice it, and then suddenly you find, I'm not actually doing too good. I don't know how I got here. I got no idea what started me off, 'cause there's lots of little things. And sometimes it's just right back to home, how you treated one another at home. Anyway.
So, so don't grieve the Holy Spirit. Second one that tells us then, it, it says in relations, that then it says, rather, this is what he likes. He likes it when you're kind. He likes it when you're tender-hearted. He likes it when you forgive one another as God in Christ forgave you. So, notice there, God, this is the, these are things he likes. He likes, "Love is patient, love is kind." So, be kind. Practice kindness, practice patience. Just those two, and you'll be amazed at the changes in your connections and relationship. Especially to yourself. Practice patience with yourself. Practice kindness to yourself. 'Cause if you're not doing that to yourself, you won't be that way with anyone else either. Anyway, that is sort of kind of obvious, isn't it, really?
Anyway, second one he says, 1 Thessalonians 5:19 says, "Don't quench the Holy Spirit." Now, quenching the Holy Spirit is really quite different. That has to do with the ministry of the Spirit. The ministry. The word quench means to put the fire out. Means to extinguish. Two pictures. If I give you pictures, 'cause pictures, you know, you have quench, don't quench the Spirit. Almost everyone thinks that's someone else, not me. It is, is this a trouble? We, we know we've got to keep that open. Is God, am I quenching you in any way? Is there any way I'm hindering your flow? And, and you'll be quite surprised. I'll give you some ways we quench the Spirit, then you can work it out for yourself. Holy Spirit, show them.
So, to quench the Spirit is like putting a wet blanket on a fire. Have you met people who are wet blanket people? Well, don't be a Holy Ghost wet blanket then. If he's starting the fire, a fire up, stir up the fire. Keep focused on what he's doing and keep fanning it up so it's stronger. Don't kind of quench it. So, the other a picture is, you've got a hose. You've ever seen, you've got a hose that gets a tangle in it, and then the water just stops going. He's only got water. You know, the pressure's there, the water's there, but it's just that bend in the pipe. It's restricted the flow. That's quenching the Spirit. Okay, so then that. So, I always like to ask questions. So, what, how do I quench the Spirit? What ways would I stop the flowing? For some, they never got started, but for others, how do I stop it, you know? Well, I'll give you a few. Here's a few. There's, I, I started to think of a few. Here's one of them, fear. Fear stops and shuts down the flow of the Spirit. Fear gets you focused on yourself, and you don't flow. That's why Paul wrote to Timothy, "Stir up the gift of God inside you. Get the flow going again. You're quenching the Holy Ghost." Why? Fear. "God has not given us the spirit of fear." He was intimidated by all the old people. Yeah, old people, 'cause he didn't know. He's on a shame culture, and young people tend to treat older people with high respect and yield to them, and he's being intimidated by people he's trying to change. Spirit of fear. Spirit of fear, and it's a very big issue. Fear. Fear will turn you to focus on yourself. Fear will quench the Holy Spirit because you're yielding to another spirit. Control, where you become inflexible. You have to have everything controlled. So, control is connected to fear, 'cause people are afraid to control things so that they, nothing to be afraid of. So, if you're controlling things, you're quenching the Spirit, 'cause when he moves, yeah, stuff happens. If you're worried about stuff happening, what people might think, you, you'll, you'll quench the Holy Ghost, 'cause your priority is how people respond rather than what God is wanting to do. And this is a key thing. If we're going to be moving in revival, you can stop revival. Hard to start it, but once it starts, it's really easily stopped by someone in leadership becoming restrictive or controlling. There's classic situations in New Zealand of that. Uh, so another, another here is unbelief, where we actually are in unbelief that God could work through us. Unbelief. What else? What quenches the Holy Spirit? Well, dishonoring him is one. Where we actually don't honor him and give him a place. Tradition. Well, we've done it this way. Well, we'll do it this way. Well, listen, the world moved on. While you're doing it this way, the world has moved on. We're in another whole 'nother generation. We need the next generation to arise and with new ways of bringing the gospel to new needs that people have and new challenges that people have that we never faced. So, give them room. Give the Holy Ghost room to generate new ministries, new styles of doing things, and don't look at it and say, "Oh, we didn't do it that way." You know, don't. That's quenching the Holy Ghost. Just say, "Come on, go for it. We're with you, and we'll give you wisdom and help you on the way." So, the church needs the younger generation to arise up and, and become part of the answer to what's going on. And they need the older generation to pray with them and make room for them and show them how to do it. And don't worry about them getting it wrong. Don't worry about people getting it wrong. It's the fear of getting it wrong stops anyone doing anything. Just say, "Well, like falling off a, like trying to learn to ride a bike, you fall off a few times." Now, you see, if it's a mother, "Oh, my poor little, oh, you hurt your knee. Come on, put that bike away. Wicked bike." You know, but, but it's a father, "Get back up on the thing. Come on. Don't worry about that graze. Get back on the bike." And that's the difference between pastoral and apostolic. The apostolic says, "Get back up and get have another go. Don't worry about a few cuts and grazes. Don't worry. Get back on. You'll learn. Let me hold it for you and stabilize it. There you got it." So, it's the different now, and I'm being disrespectful. It's just the difference of how people are wired. The pastoral church to nurture and keep it safe for everyone, and the apostolic, which wants everyone to grow up. Get over the little stuff. Get the big stuff in mind and make things happen. If something's happened, cheer it on. Don't, "Ooh, I don't know about that." You know, don't. They see that's grieves the Holy Spirit. 'Cause it's a whole built on an attitude of pride and judgmentalism. That unleashes demons against you, by the way. Anyway.
So, uh, so, so if we don't know how to work with him, that, that's another reason that we can quench the Holy Spirit is how to work with him, how to build an atmosphere, how to, how to flow with the gifts, how to open up the atmosphere in your worship, how to sense when God is moving and then work with him. All of these things are, are important. They, if you don't know what to do, then you won't, you won't make room for him. And so, those are some of the reasons.
Okay, so how can I yield to the Holy Ghost? Well, start talking to him. Talk to him. Honor him. You know, develop awareness that he's there. Give him a bit of room to move. Speak in tongues. I can't tell you how much the value of speaking in tongues to activate your spirit man and stir the realm of the spirit around your life. It's a gift given to us. So, I want to get down to some, some of this, the, the practical of how you would work with him. That's where I really want to go to. As we share the next session, I want to, the next part I want to talk about how to work with the Holy Spirit and then how to minister to people.
So, if we read in Matthew 12 and verse 28, Jesus said, "If I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the kingdom has come." And notice he said, "I by the Spirit." So, there is a partnership. There's a working with the Holy Spirit. And so, ministry requires, uh, if we're going to have the supernatural, we learn how to work with the Holy Spirit. So, what does that look like and feel like? How do I do that?
In John 7 and 38 and 39, Jesus said, "Out of your innermost being will flow rivers of living water." And he was speaking about the Spirit. Now, notice he's describing that we are the temple. That the life of God is within us, and it will flow out from within your spirit. So, it can only flow from within your spirit if you are exercising faith for it to happen and understand you're not waiting for something to come down from heaven. For many people, when we think about God and God working, when you talk to them about where they feel God is, they often think God is up there. The, the mentality is God is up there. No, God has come to live in this house. So, now in ministering the Spirit, it requires I cooperate with the indwelling Spirit. Hence the need for ongoing transformation, ongoing intimacy, and then learning how to let my life be a channel for him to work through. It's not a big mystery. He said, "The Holy Spirit moves like a river moves." So, what does a river move like? It is a flowing movement. So, it's not like stop, start, that kind of thing. When to, to move with the Holy Spirit, it's like a flowing movement.
In, in the book of Ezekiel, when Ezekiel got a vision of this, now remember he's in the Old Testament, so his vision is in Old Testament terms. He saw a temple, he saw a river, and the river was flowing out from under the door of the temple, and the river went out, and it got deeper as he went with it, and then it went out and it brought healing and, and freedom and salvation, and so he's getting a vision of what we're called to participate in. 'Cause we are that temple. The river flows out from within your spirit. So, when you're releasing the power of God, it's from within your spirit.
Now, notice he said he stepped in the waters up to his ankles, meaning there was just a trickle of water at the beginning of the move. But as he kept moving in the water, the water got deeper. And then it got up to his knees, then it got up to his waist, then it become such a big move he couldn't walk anywhere, he's just carried with the move. And he's describing the way the Spirit of God moves, that his movement starts very little. Because it starts so little, we often ignore the little stuff and don't actually take steps of action. So, the picture that he got was something like this, step in and start walking with the flow of God's Spirit, and as you do, the waters will deepen, meaning there'll be a greater manifestation of the Spirit. Until in the end, it's a massive river, speaking of the glory of God, and now we've got no part in making it happen, we're flowing with what God is doing. So, he's talking about dimensions of the Spirit. The faith dimension, trickle. They're moving into the anointing, and they're moving into the glory realm where God is doing it. So, the key thing in it is this, it starts little, you've got to take a step. And if you'll keep taking steps, then more of the anointing flows through you. The, the room begins to fill with that anointing.
So, the first thing about the river, it is a flow. The second thing about the movement of God or about a river is, it's spontaneous. It's not something you can make happen, it comes and happens. And when it happens and starts to flow, you have to recognize something is happening and stop what you're doing and work with that. It's spontaneous, so it's, it's not like it was planned. Spontaneous, the opposite of being planned or structured. So, for those who are structured, this is like a nightmare. Their worst fear has come. But you can be structured and spontaneous. Structure gives you the planning, but in the midst of it, surrender to what the Holy Spirit is doing. And just give him a bit of room to move. But it'll make it so messy. Well, what does that matter? Who's in charge here anyway? You know, there's a problem right there. Is the program in charge or is the Holy Ghost in charge? We say, "Oh, oh Holy Ghost, be in charge." And then we have our program and won't make a bit of room for him. I remember going to one church and I saw the program, and everything was down to the minute, including five minutes to move in the Spirit. I thought, "You, you haven't got a clue about how the Holy Spirit moves." Another one, they gave me a, they gave me the thing and I said, "What, what, how can I serve you? How can I help you?" Well, we want a move of God. I said, "Wonderful, wonderful. So, here's the program. We want you to preach a message and have a move of God." I said, "Well, how much time is allowed for this?" It was 20 minutes. Well, you see, how long since they ever had a move of God? It's so long they don't even know it happens. They've altered everything to appease people who are, "Hurry up. Come on. Get me out of here." Okay, go. Rest of us are hungry for God. Oh, dear. So, moves of God that you build the atmosphere takes time to develop it. It's a particular kind of meeting, see?
Okay, so it's spontaneous. And so, when the Holy Spirit moves, he moves spontaneously. The second, third thing is, he moves, he's very gentle. So, a lot of people, they, their understanding is, well, it's got to be all God. And I think, "What are you talking about?" It's, it's got to be me working with him. And when he comes, he's very gentle, usually. He's very gentle impression. In fact, it's so gentle and slight, you could easily miss it. And most people miss it 'cause it was so gentle. They, while I'm waiting for, I want to hear this. This is God. You, we're not going to hear this is God. You won't hear that. You just have a slight impression, a little quiet voice, a thought, a picture, a feeling to do something. That's all it is. And, and that's all you got. You're in the, you're in the shallow waters indeed. It's so shallow you hardly think there's any water there. You're spending all your time wondering, "I don't know, I don't know about this." That's what goes on. Whereas you just take a step of faith. I will show you how to do that in a moment. That would be great to do, but so, okay, so, so, so, so the first thing is the nature of the flow is like that. Second, you build an atmosphere for this to happen. Don't just happen. So, so see, if your mentality is it just happens, you also don't understand that God put man in the earth for governance. He won't do anything without us. You say, "Well, God is God, he could do it all." No, no. He's governed that by prayer, men would bring him earth to do things in alignment with his will. So, it requires someone surrendered and praying. So, there's an atmosphere you build. Now, you, you have to build an atmosphere within which God moves. And mostly that's how things happen. So, you build your atmosphere, you build an atmosphere of faith. And so, you build the atmosphere of faith and expectation by preaching the word and believing for something to happen. Don't you sort of, well, we preach what this, wait around, see if anything happens. That, it's not going to happen that way. You need to preach to the word in such a way, I am confident God wants to do this. You say, "Well, that's going out over the edge." Yes, it is. It's stepping out into the shallow water. Putting yourself out in the place of risk or painting yourself into such a corner you look a bit silly if nothing happens. And that's where the problem comes. We're worried about how we'll look before people, so we won't take the risks. That's always the challenge. Okay. So, build the atmosphere, and you, so you build an atmosphere through the word and through the worship of expectation for God. And then you've got to take a step. So, unbelief or familiarity is a great quencher of the Holy Ghost. See, even, even Jesus, Mark 6, could do no mighty work among the people. Now, you think, "Wait a minute, this is Jesus. He's anointed with all this power. How come he can't do anything?" Because of the attitude of the people. A spirit of unbelief settled over them because of their familiarity. Ooh. Familiarity breeds disrespect and dishonor, and so he could not do anything. So, what he did do was he found people who were open and hungry, laid hands on them, and he went around teaching to build the atmosphere. You read at the end of Mark 6, he went to another place and they heard, "Jesus is coming. Bring out the sick. Bring out the sick." And they just ran with the sick and miracles were everywhere. Same Jesus, different environment, different outcomes. Now, that's a great lesson on the power of God that you build the environment for God to come and dwell in and do the work of miracles. That means you've got to prepare people and teach people, help them understand these areas. You build that environment. It doesn't just happen. Well, it's very clear. So, so if there's a strong environment of unbelief or familiarity, then less happens. Okay, then. So, then we have to activate your faith. So, to activate your faith, listen to God first of all, get into prayer and fasting, 'cause that'll stretch your faith and grow your faith. And then listen for God to give you an impression of what to do in the meeting.
Now, I remember when I was first stepping out and I felt like I'm spot, I need to step out in words of knowledge, but a bit scared. So, what I thought I'd do is this, I will, I will wait on the Lord before the meeting and ask him for words of knowledge. So, I began to just pray in the Spirit, just practice without pressure, I call it. No one's looking. Practice without pressure, just me and God. And I begin to picture the meeting and, and then I would just kind of get an impression, I'd write it down. Someone there in their body's got this problem, someone there is in that side of the church. And I just wrote it all down. I had about six. And then I came to the meeting and I thought, "I'm going to give it a go." So, I said, "God has been speaking to me before this meeting and I have things that he is wanting to people he's wanting to touch." And I began to call out the name. And then someone said, "Yes." I thought, "Whoa." So, I did it a few times and got lots of people come out. I thought, "That's amazing." So, I did it the second week. And wow, this is amazing. The third week, I froze with terror. Because suddenly we've now got lots of people in the church. We had a whole heap of people coming 'cause God is starting to move and they want something to happen. And I'm realizing, "Well, they're going to look at me and I, what can I do? I don't know what to do." And sing again, sing again. So, I'm in the front row and everyone's waiting for me to get up and do something. Like, sing again, another round, please, another round. I was almost going to say, "Please, all close your eyes while I ran from the room." I was really, I was really scared. Anyway, I finally got up and got moved. And I'm just finding my way, and then I felt the Lord impress me that I needed to start to do that without a prompt. You know, just try it without. Try one without the list. Try without the list. I was starting to get dependent on the list, you see? Leaning on the list now. Oh, this is how we do it. We find something that works, you lean on it. That's the problem. You get it all, you lean on what you've done, you know, rather leaning into the Lord. So, so I tried to get one. I got one the first round. I thought, "That's great." And then, then I tried it again. I didn't get any. I thought, "Oh, well, I'll keep trying. Keep trying. Just keep trying." And, uh, then I got down and, uh, I, I froze again. And then I started to get one. And then, and the Lord said, "I want you to decrease the list until it was nothing." And then, and then he won't let me use lists anymore. If I stand trying to get a list, I can't get anything. It's just how it is. You've got to grow in your faith, and you just take steps. And if you don't care, and you're not worried about people too much, you're worried about just, I want to press into God and, and believe God to do stuff, then stretch out. Start to stretch your faith. Remember, it starts like a trickle. Don't worry about the trickle. Just if it's a trickle, yeah, a trickle. Awesome. Next week, there's more. So, so you have to just keep in, in that stretching out process. That's how you work. And, uh, that's how I did it, and I got going, and, uh, and, and was able to overcome the initial fears and whatever. So, how we get going.
So, then, then when it comes to ministering people, wow. So, I'll just, I'll move away from that just so I, I probably have to demonstrate because that's the best way to do it. So, when you're going to minister to people, develop God-consciousness in your private life. Develop an awareness of the presence of God with you. That's why the worship intimacy is really important, becoming aware of God's presence. So, when you come to pray for someone, the thing that will happen straight away, "God, where are you?" It'll come up straight away in front of you. You know, you, someone come up with a need or some kind of thing, and immediately, "Oh my God, there's a need, and they want me to pray for them." And they, you know, and, and you can get caught up where, "I can't do this, you know, this is too hard." And your focus is on yourself meeting the need rather than this, "I am the minister of God. I'm just a gateway. I'm just a messenger. I'm just a postman." Postmen aren't that important, really. They, they only got to do one job, that's deliver the mail. Get the mail from here, deliver the mail there. So, moving in the prophetic is really like being a postman. Get the mail from here, deliver the mail there. Now, it's the how to do it because in between, we're not sure we got the mail. And we're scared to deliver the mail. You notice it's all about me on the way. So, so you got to. So, the, the way I found to help deal with that is to become conscious, God-conscious rather than need-conscious. And so, time in the presence of God, and particularly meditating on the presence of God, and you start to develop consciousness of him. Now, we talked about staying focused in your worship time. Now, in your worship time, if you're distracted all the time, you won't be conscious of God. Your mind is not being trained to be attentive to God. So, meditation helps train your mind for what we're about to do now.
So, if I come to minister to someone or to just pray for someone, then what I need to do is do two things. Number one, I point them towards the Lord. Because otherwise, I put a huge pressure on you to come through for them. So, maybe there's a need or something, but point them towards the Lord. I want you to focus your attention on Jesus, expecting to receive. And when they do that, it just will take soul pressure off you. It just gets them focused towards the Lord as their source. Then the second thing, before I try to minister, I then give God my attention, too. I focus on the source. So, we've got two people, one having a need focused on the source, the other having to be the messenger also focused on the source. It's very, I'm making it in steps, but it's actually quite a simple thing, and I'll demonstrate it in a moment. And as I focus on the Lord, I just become conscious and aware of him and open for any impression. So, when God speaks, it will be very gentle. It'll be just an impression or a little thought or a little picture. And I've got to by faith just take that, identify it, and then begin to act on it. Identify it and act on it. So, fix your mind on the Lord, give him your attention. Tune in to something spontaneous coming. And as soon as it comes, by faith now, identify it, and that's what you'll work with.
Now, you say, "Well, I haven't got anything much." And I'll demonstrate. I'll just pray and minister to two or three people so you can just see, and I'll describe what's happening as it's happening. So, you can see it in operation. And, uh, it's quite interesting. So, it's the same then. It, it, it starts with just a little, and if you give the little and keep your attention fixed on the Lord, the little starts to flow, and then it becomes a movement of words or movement of power. But you got to be quite intentional in this. And, and, and then you just practice. Just practice, practice, practice, practice. So, I'll just, uh, do this to two or three people so you can just see. And, and each step, I'll describe it, see? So, I won't use you again. He's wanting more prayer. Where's, you can help me since you're here, you know. Okay, so where's, you stand there. Don't just stand behind him. All right, so I, I want to just talk then about the, the flow of the Spirit in power. 'Cause you, this is something Jesus, it says in Luke 6, felt power flow out of him. Luke 8, he felt power flow out of him. So, you can feel power flow. And what caused it to flow is someone is pulling on it, drawing on it. Faith. And so, you can, you can feel the power flow. So, you just put your hand on my hand for a moment there. I want you just to close your eyes, and I want you just fix your attention, fix your mind on Jesus, and there it is. So, I've, I've positioned him to receive. Now, as I'm in the ministry flow now, I'm watching and aware of two things. Number one, is the Spirit coming upon him? Because when he's focused on the Lord, the Holy Spirit will come upon him. And if he's hungry for God and open to God, and there's faith in his heart, Holy Spirit will come on him, and I can feel that. I can feel that anointing. See, the Holy Ghost coming on him right now. I'll declare it. He's coming upon him now. And you see what happened? Now, I haven't ministered anything. I just got him to position himself so God could come to him. And in, in the positioning him with his heart open and expectant, the Spirit of God starts to draw around him now. Now, I haven't prayed. I didn't really pray. We didn't, I didn't even get into ministry flow. I was just observant of the first thing, what is the Holy Ghost doing around me? What's the Holy Ghost doing on him?
Now, other people, it's like a stiff wall. My God, it's like a wall. You actually think, I think I've just run into a hard wall. Here's the news, you have. It's called unbelief. There's something that's cloaking them, which is a hindrance to them receiving. So, if you carry on without and ignore it, it's likely nothing's going to happen. Because there's something controlling them. So, then I might talk to them and say, "Hey, listen, I just feel there's a block to you receiving. Like, can we just talk about that?" And, and sometimes there's an issue God will bring out just there. Often, it's rejection coupled with unbelief, or they've had a trauma and there's control. And if you just try to ignore it, then it's not going to go away. It'll be a hindrance for them receiving. So, no matter how anointed you are, if they're not receptive, they don't receive. That's the message of Mark 6. If they're receptive, God will come even without you almost. He'll run ahead of you 'cause he's hungry. He wants to touch their life. Okay. Okay, just come back again. We'll do it again. This time I'm going to do it a bit differently. So, I'm just showing you one side of it, that if the person is open and receptive, power flows to them. Now, that's not power flowing from me. I wasn't engaged in ministry. I was just preparing him to receive, and he's so committed and open and hungry that Holy Ghost just came straight on him. And for some people, they're like that. They're really open. It's almost like just God's got to just touch the atmosphere, and bang, they're they're falling over. They, you can tell those people are worshipers. True worshipers. You can tell they, they yield in worship.
Okay, just put your hand on my hand again. Okay. Now, power flows. So, just fix your eyes on the Lord. I'm going to hold on you so you don't fall over. Now, so the first part is getting him to just focus his attention on the Lord. The second I do, no matter what the mis- ministry is, I still do it this way. I just pause for a moment. He's focused on the Lord. Now, I just fix my attention on him. Now, if you meditate on the Lord day by day, what you find is the, the, you just fix your mind on him, you drop in the Spirit to where you live with him in the daily relationship. Because it's a habit. Otherwise, you freak out, it's all up to you, and then you pray some silly long prayer with no power. Not, he's not wanting a long prayer, he wants the power of God. So, to get the power of God is no use praying prayer, I need to actually engage with God and release the power. So, if I was just to do this for a moment, I just begin to fix my mind on the Lord, I begin to see him full of majesty and power, and he's near me. Oh my, I can feel it now. So, now from within, release the power of God. Power of God touches him, comes on him. Or, you can release the power of God through the word. So, I just put my hand on him, just lightly. I like to do it this way, so she can tell I didn't push him. Otherwise, people get all caught up. Pushing is a substitute for God. Pushing is the flesh, trying to look good, make something happen. Rather than engaging with God and feeling his presence and power. And then, faith is activated by the command, "Power!" And then release the power of God. And so, something happens to him. It is still on him. So, so power is released by command, sometimes released by breathing, sometimes released by laying on of hands. But, you need to just be conscious that there's a flow from within you to touch them, or there may be God directly coming on them. Learn to discern the coming upon and the coming through. You just become aware of those things. So, if I feel no flow, there's a block, I need to inquire of the Lord, what's the block here. Otherwise, you'll do stuff and nothing much will happen. Okay, how you doing? Oh, he's okay. Just leave him, he's in there having an experience. So, it's a second touch. If you keep praying for people, the touch of God gets stronger and stronger on their life. The river starts to increase. It just starts to increase.
So, if we were to just move prophetically, and so, all of the ministry flows out of connecting with God, becoming conscious of him, and then responding to the promptings. So, Jenny, you can help me right now. Come and stand here. And I'm deliberately doing it this way, just so there's no sense where I'm, I'm trying to engage or pressure of any kind. So, it's just a, a contact. A point contact can often be a channel for the Holy Ghost to flow. So, sometimes it just, the Bible talks to you about laying on of hands, but also through the laying on of hands, the power will flow, and it will just touch. Holy Ghost will come on her. Right then. So, just focus your attention on the Lord. Just fix your eyes on him. Now, I'm reaching out now for him to move prophetically. So, I'll just fix my mind on the Lord. Lord, I want to flow. I stir up that gift of prophecy. Thank you, Lord. You know all about her circumstance, situation. Lord, I ask you now for a word to minister to her. So, now I'm conscious of his presence and waiting just a moment for the impression. And the impression might be very simple, might be just one word. And if I just start with the word, I'll activate the flow. And because I practice journaling, I'm practiced in flowing with the flow. That's why worshipping and journaling prepare you for ministry, 'cause all of that worship, you're focusing on the Lord, and becoming conscious of the Lord, you're listening to the Lord, you're engaging with the Lord. Now, you're all prepared for ministry. So, again, don't separate it. Ministry is just the same thing. I just need to engage him, see what he wants to say.
So, I saw a picture of something just immediately drop into my mind. And you think, "Oh, you got one word. This one word, what can you do with one word, you know?" Well, you, you have to, when God gives you a word, it's a seed within which is a message. So, you start by describing what you see. And as you just start describing what you see, like a newsreader, more will just drop into place. And then things will start to happen. Now, I'm doing this slowly, step by step, to break it down. So, okay. So, we've broken it down now. She's focused on the Lord.
I'm focused on the Lord. I become conscious of his presence, just waiting on him. Fixing your mind on him will reduce fear levels. Fear will make you focus on yourself and stop everything happening. So, you the discipline of focusing your attention is a big help.
All right then. So, I look now and I have one word. So, I just wait on the Lord. If nothing else comes, I'm going to need to start with that. So, as I start, I'm bringing something from the Lord. So, don't use old King Jamie English or anything like that, and don't go all weird. Just talk normally. Just talk normally. God talks normally. You know, he he he talks in the language we talk in, you know?
Anyway. Okay. So, I need to now speak as though I'm delivering a message. So, there's no place for yourself to get into it. Speak and let it flow until the flow stops, then stop. Now, as I speak, it'll open up. Okay. So, this is what I felt. So, I just said, this is what I sensed as I reached out to the Lord. I sensed that the Lord is putting a new sword in your heart and in your hand. God is doing a work in your life at this time. And you have Now, you see, I'm just starting to get the flow going. So, now I you have been crying out to the Lord. There's been a season where you have been desperately seeking the Lord, saying it's not enough, it's not enough. There's been a season where you've been in turmoil and warfare almost at a level you haven't had before. And that is the sword in your heart. There's people you're concerned about, there's situations you're concerned about, and the Lord is moving because of your prayers and intercessions. God has been drawing you into the place of prayer, drawing you into the place of fasting, drawing you into intercession, firstly for family, but it's beyond family. There's a hunger in your heart for a fresh move of God. And God is bringing to you a massive freedom from fear and intimidation. God is bringing to you a new sword in your mouth. You will begin to rise and move into different parts of our nation. Your voice will begin to be heard. You will begin to carry a voice of reformation. You'll carry a voice for repairing the altar of the Lord. You'll carry a voice for prayer, for healing, for deliverance. You're going to begin to carry a mantle over your life to bring healing and and uh and uh and uh deliverance, and also the activation of a new generation. The Lord is turning your eyes towards the coming generation, towards those who are young adults. He wants to fill your heart with a passion for them that they might be mobilized and activated. And I sense the Lord saying, "Don't stick with the old ways. There are new tools, new ways, new areas to flow out in. So, be willing to explore, be willing to experiment." God is bringing a mantle upon your life to empower you to do this. And over the past few years in ministry, you've had many, many things come against you. And they brought an intimidation of your life and ministry. And God is breaking this assignment of witchcraft. Of words raised against you behind your back. Of words that come from the past, from voices from the past. God is delivering you from the power of those words and shutting down the assignment in heaven that has been against your life.
Father, in Jesus name, I just take authority now today in Jesus name, we break that assignment. I speak to every spirit behind it. I command that you release her now in Jesus name. Now, now, now, now in Jesus name. Loose her now in Jesus name. I break that yoke of fear and intimidation in Jesus name. Thank you, Lord. Holy Ghost come. Whoa, I can feel that power Let that mantle rest upon her. Father, I ask you'd bring her into encounters now. Encounters in that place of prayer. Whoa. See how once you start, the water gets deeper and deeper, but you got to start. And I only started with one word, that was the word sword. So, that was all I had, one word. I don't ever get much more than that, one word. I sometimes think "Come on, get a little bit more than that, you know?" No, no, no, one word, that's all you need. The the the seed contains the tree. Just have faith that within the seed is the tree. Everything God does is by the seed. So, our problem is we ignore the seed, we're just looking for the tree all the time. It's just a little thing.
Okay. How we doing? How was that for you? Yeah. Okay, well, that's good. Thank you. Okay. Okay then. So, so, first of all, I got the word sword. I saw the picture of a sword and heard the word sword. So, then I Now, what you do is when you get something, you need to focus on that and lean in to inquire more. Now, the problem is we get into the mindset of judging. "Oh, that can't be God." Now, that's judging. You don't you act as an observer who inquires. "Oh, a sword. What does that mean? What is that about?" And and then I saw the sword was in the heart and in the hand. So I got first the sword, but when I inquired, I saw something had entered her heart and caused grief and pain, but also there was something God was putting in a hand. Now, it didn't seem much. Just saw the heart and the hand. So notice it's very very little, but that's upon that you start. And you you're like a newsreader, you stay postured to look and just say what you're seeing or hearing until the flow stops. And if you'll do that, it'll just keep turning up like a news read like tissues in a in a in a box. You know, if you got a box there with tissues, you know, how many tissues in there? I don't know. Just one by the look of it. No, no, there's a whole supply. Our problem is we look we I want the whole supply first. When I see the supply, then I'll share them. How do you know there's one? But trust me, there's more in there. That's how it goes. And and see, you don't see tissue number two until you pull out tissue number one. So nothing's going to happen. You got this little wee seed there, and until you step out and do something with it, nothing more happens. You you've just got to take that step of faith and take that risk. And as you do it, it all begins to flow. So take that one out. OH, THERE'S MORE. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. THERE'S MORE, IAN. THERE'S MORE. THERE'S MORE. But wait, there's more. But wait, there's more. Now, once you start the flow, there's there's a movement starts to take place and then lots can happen to lots of people. And then you just start to say for example, if I was moving in the meeting, then I might pray for another one and just seeing what God is doing and I might find out there's another one, there's fear. Oh, okay then. So now there's someone else afraid. I wonder how many are struggling with fear and intimidation. Just put your hand up right now if you're struggling with intimidation and fear. Just put your hand up right now. See? So why did God just choose this one? Because it's just a door opener for everyone else. Can you see it? Yeah, don't focus on how little it is. Within that word sword, there was a movement to set people free in here of fear, which we'll do that in just a moment. Can you see? But you God doesn't show you it all. He just shows you just a little bit and wants you to trust him and step into that little bit. And as you keep moving with it, keep inquiring. Don't Oh, thank God. Get over it. Go home and have lunch now. No, you've got to stay in that place. God, what do you want to do? And and then your ministry can open up. So in your church ministries, plan that after the worship, you will stretch out moving in the spirit. You'll start to pray for people. You'll start to stretch out for people. Ask God to give you words of knowledge in the in in the private place in prayer, so it takes the pressure off you. But when you deliver it, don't deliver it with intimidation. That's what we're going to Don't come and say for I think I think I think I've got There may be some needs here. Now, you see that's filled with fear and uncertainty. It's not going to produce anything. You you'd be better to go for broke. And just say something like this. I was praying before the meeting and God dropped into my heart some specific needs he wants to touch today. And there's someone here with this. Or I want to pray for you. You know, and just go out there. And you say, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. What if nothing happens?" And right there is the attack of the devil to shut you down, to quench the spirit. Right there. You got to stop Well, what if something happens? I'm going to give it a go. Something will happen. You see how we work it? And and as you do it, something happens. And it's it's always like that. And they say, "What if nothing happens? What if nothing happens?" No, no, something's going to happen. So we just pray for a few people. Now, we had a whole heap of people who are struggling with fear, but I want to pray with you first. Come on, quick, come up. Quick, quick, quick, quick. Come up. Come up as a couple. Come up as a couple. Have we? Oh, they're not ready for lunch. Well, that's awesome. We can just pray for a few more people in. Okay, come on up. Just come here. Hold hands together. That's right, headaches. We need to pray for those tormenting headaches. God wants to set you free. Okay? Wants to set you free. Then he wants to speak over your lives about your destiny. And the moment I mention that word headache, you've got something happening. You start to feel turmoil, hey? Cuz it's a demon. Yes, it's a spirit. So we just need to get you delivered. See? Now notice you see you're starting to feel it. It's manifesting its presence. This is why you're feeling it. What are you feeling at the moment? A lot of heat in my face. A lot of heat in your face and in your head. All right then. Will you just close your eyes right now? Thank you, Lord. Right then. Now, this is a generational thing? You've had it all your life? All right then. So Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I take authority now. I break generational curses of idolatry, religious idolatry, I break now all attachment to worship of the dead, worship of false gods. I break it now. I command the spirit of torment. I command you now. I command you to release her and come out of her now. I break now words spoken over you that took hold of and claimed your life as a young girl. I break those words now in Jesus' name. I break all generational curses associated with that religious system. In Jesus' name, I command you let it go now. Now, now, loose. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Amen. Okay, you getting them too? Yeah. Yeah, okay. There we go. Let's It's a spirit. Okay, you get it sometimes. All right then. Well, Father, right now in Jesus' name, I come against that spirit of torment. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command you now to let him go. I speak specifically into the power of Jezebel. I bind you, forbid all of your operation. Tormenting spirit producing headaches. Jesus' name right now. Let him go. Let him go. Loose him in Jesus' name right now. There it is. Okay. So now So while that just happened, I was really brought them up to prophesy. So like I say, if you get in the flow, you never what's going to happen. Stuff happens. You just flowing. And you're not trying to make anything happen. You can really relax and laugh and enjoy it all. How you feeling? Hey, that's good. Okay, just hold hands together. Holy Spirit wants to come on you right now. Thank you, Lord. So again, so I want you close your eyes, look up to the Lord. So we wanted to remove the hindrance that was there just at that point. Now, we look now at what God wants to really do, which is to speak into their lives and destiny. So you say, "Well, what what do you do?" Well, first of all, just fix your attention on the Lord. Focus on him. So that puts them in a posture to receive. And now I need to do the same. I need to fix my attention on the Lord. Now, I'm breaking it down to one, two, three steps, but actually it's a relational flow and it can happen very quickly. But by breaking it down into steps, it helps you understand it's a step by step by step movement, but it flows. Okay? There we go. So I've been in Asia for such a long time. They like it all that way, so one, two, three, four. Step one, do this. Look to the Lord. Step two, me look to the Lord. Okay, now we're ready. So I'm looking to the Lord now and I and I just thank God for his goodness. Thank you, Lord. You're a wonderful God. Loves this couple. You really do love them. Your hand is upon their life. So now usually what will happen when you pray for a couple is you find the flow will often go to the man as the head and leader, but if you just wait and then often the woman doesn't feel like she got anything. So I try to when I'm praying for a couple, just wait a little longer and focus just on believing for the girl or the woman to get something first. It makes sense? There it is. Then you feel the presence of God come the moment I mentioned that. Fire. I feel fire coming on you. Thank you, Lord. So I just wait for a moment. And God is stirring a fire of passion in your heart. He's stirring in you a passion for worship. I see you you're quite musical. I see you love music, love worship, and that's kind of in your heart. You're attracted to it. It's like you're drawn to it. And I see God making you into a worshiper. And God is wanting to release and activate in your life a prophetic gift. He's wanting to activate an understanding how to flow with him prophetically so he can bring words to encourage and words to heal. And in the past, you've been quite intimidated, lived in the shadows of others, but God is bringing you out in your own right to discover you're a woman of God. And I see God wanting to connect you where you can be mentored and helped to develop fire and passion in your life and spirit. That old identity of being held down, held under, God is breaking that off you today and he's calling you forth to be a woman of God. He's going to send you even to your own people to minister to them, to speak the word of God. Even though their hearts are hardened by religion, nevertheless, they'll see the joy, the life, and the vibrancy in you. And they'll be touched by the words that God has. And I just see worship is going to be a key part of bringing the presence of God around your own life into your home. And I see also it's going to be a key part in God's moving through you to touch others. And And so I'm God wants to encourage you. You're hungry for the things of God. You're hungry to learn. I see you just setting your heart to learn, to learn about the kingdom. It's like you've you've been set on fire this last couple of days, suddenly realizing there's a kingdom I never I know much about it. I I I want to know more. I'm hungry for more. And and I see that God is awakening your heart to the supernatural. And I see God raising up You got a strong heart that cares for people. I I a pastoral role God building around your life where your your home is open, you're gathering people up. People like you, got a lovely spirit, you got a caring heart. And I see the Lord bringing people to you to minister to them, instruct them, and as a couple, you're going to become your household will become a house where people find healing and restoration, are encouraged and built. You're going to start to find the enormous joy of being engaged with God's work of ministering to people. Holy Spirit, come on them now. Let your presence and power touch them both. We release and activate the gifts of God in their life in Jesus' name. Thank you, Lord. That's good. He got a good touch, isn't it, eh? Thank you, Lord. Father, we just release that prophetic anointing. Father, the realm of worship, that prophetic anointing right now. Just lift your hands right up. Lift your hands right up. Holy Spirit, come upon her right now. Jesus' name. Oi. So, amazing what happens, isn't it? Hm? Prophesy. Over him? I just did. It's all so natural, it doesn't always get noticed. Okay, so I want to pray for people to be free of of intimidation. And in a moment. So, that's you and you know that's you. It intimidation shuts our gift down. Now, intimidation attaches to our identity. Any place we're struggling with rejection and feel a lack of value in ourself, that's where it locks in. And it reinforces old things. It reinforces old beliefs. I'm no good, I can't do and and pushes you then to become afraid of what people will think. So, today we can break the spirit of intimidation off your life, but there has to be a commitment to build your identity strongly in the Lord. This is who I am. Take the heart journey and learn how to deal with the roots of rejection. Because if you don't, the thing just keeps coming back. Every ministry becomes about your identity. So, the Holy Ghost is given inside us for establishing identity. He comes upon us to serve others. And the moment the devil will always try to turn you so your identity is connected to doing. And the moment you embrace that kind of thinking, you're sunk. Because now it's all about how people view you. So, that's the first temptation of Jesus. If you be the son of God, prove it. Do this or that. It's always that shift from my identity. I am who God says I am. I am happy in my father's presence and in his course, path. Assignment. The moment the assignment becomes how I establish identity, position, the role, the title. Did they notice me? Didn't notice me? Did they was it All of that stuff, it leaves you open to demons to torment you. You know, I was going to pray for you before I pray for everyone else. Just come quickly. Just stand there. Holy Ghost, come on him. The God I just felt the Lord say new season, new season. I feel as though God has now created space for you where you can now enter a new season. But that new season, there's a whole lot of things he's causing you to shake off. And in this next period of time, you're going to find the Holy Spirit showing you various ways that you've been entangled through movements and ministry and stuff that you've been involved in through even through church. There's a lot of things entangled and and closed off who you really are and what you're really called to do. And I just see God raising your stature to a whole new level of authority in the ministry of healing. I see God is going to lead you into pressing for greater miracles of healing, greater miracles. You've already got a level of it starting to flow now. I just see you building for cancers to be healed, for breakthroughs in people's lives at a much greater level. God is wanting to increase honor on your life. You've secretly served, secretly poured your life out, but now God is just he's like he's removing entanglements so that you can become free. And so you can come to another whole dimension. I believe the spirit of fathering is coming upon your life. Even though you've not been fathered in your own life and ministry, nevertheless, God is putting a spirit of fathering upon you and people will feel your tenderness, your love for them. And I see him bringing a strengthening in your own identity. God's presence is on your life. Lord, touch him right now. You can just let stand up and I'll lay hands for the for that impartation. You're also one of the ones who minister prophetically, healing, deliverance to people. Like a passion in your life. It's just a fresh dimension of glory, deliverance glory. Come on, OH LORD. FIRE. COME ON HER. Thank you, Lord. I heard say Hello, Ian. How are you doing, my brother? I'm so glad you came. I'm so glad you came. Well, want to pray for others to be free of fear and intimidation. So, I want you to come right now. Just make a road right across the front and we'll pray for you. And now you've been touched by God, you should pray for them as well. Ian can come and pray. And come on there. When you can get up, you can pray as well. That's right. Holy Ghost, come. Now, don't look at me. Look at the Lord. Lift your hands to the Lord. You know, there was there's a you know, Elijah has a great assignment from God and then what came against him was a spirit to intimidate him. It's a spirit of witchcraft. And witchcraft really attacks prophetic people. Gets them fearful and on themselves. So, keep your eyes closed. And I want you to just just just stay with me with this picture I create. Elijah had an assignment and a call from God. He started out pretty strong. But there was retaliation and reaction. Which is always designed to steal the life. A spirit was launched against him. Although he killed the prophets of Baal, he didn't kill the prophets of Jezebel. They came and they wrote witch witchcraft curses against him and instead of holding his ground, he become overwhelmed by what he saw. Intimidated. And then it says he he ran. Now, we may not run away physically like he did, but we can draw back from our assignment, draw back from the responsibility God has given us, draw back from the call of God. And when you draw back, there there's a problem. This where you'll end up with. It says he then began to isolate. He he separated from his companion. Then he sat down. He he become shut down inside, no longer functioning. And then all he could think of was the depression he felt and you know, actually death will be quite good. And I'm looking forward to it happening. And and and God just ignored his request to die. God just gave him angels' food, gave him a bit of a sleep. Got Then he ran away, just hid in the cave. And here's the word of God to him. Elijah, what are you doing here? And for those of you who've come forward, it's like Elijah in the cave. What are you doing here? Elijah. God is calling your name. You don't belong in a cave. You have an assignment. You've just lost focus and become intimidated. And God wants to bring you to a fresh assignment and a fresh anointing. And when he came out of the cave, he had to choose to come out of the cave, God freshly commissioned him. So, you can stay in the cave, intimidated, afraid, holding back, withdrawing. There's so many reasons we withdraw. Disappointment, betrayal, injustice, grief, things going wrong, spiritual attack, all kinds of things. But behind that is a spirit that has one thing in mind, shut you down, stop you being who you're called to be. And God says, "Elijah, what are you doing here? I need you. I have an assignment that only you can complete. I need you to come out of that cave and embrace your assignment. So, I want you right now answer this question. What happened that caused me to go into the cave? May be in a sequence of things. The Holy Spirit will show you. Do I need to forgive someone? Forgive them. Do I need to process and let go some of the grief and pain? Then make a decision when you go home to do it. Make a decision I'm coming out of the cave. I refuse to be intimidated. If the environment you're in doesn't allow for you to flourish and function, why you in that environment? Change the environment or change where you are. Led by the Holy Ghost, of course. I'm going to pray for you in a moment. For the for the Holy Ghost to break the spirit of witchcraft and intimidation that shut down so many of you in your prophetic realm. And we're going to believe for God to impart a fresh assignment anointing upon you. Wonder if Rob is here. Wonder if he can get on the keyboard. Let's We need to ramp that music right up in a moment. If you're ready, just okay, close your eyes, lift your hands to the Lord right now. I'm going to lay hands and pray for you. I'll pray a prayer first, then the ministry team will come and lay hands on you. Just let the power of God rest on you and set you free. You ready? You ready right now? So, I'm going to lead you in a prayer, then I'll pray for you. Follow me in this prayer. Father, I come to you in Jesus' name. I declare Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I'm redeemed by the blood of Jesus from every curse, every evil spirit, all the power of sin. I belong to Jesus Christ. I am a child of God with an assignment from my father.
