Saul [music] and David, they told Saul that the kingdom was going to be taken away from him. And the next thing he [music] was begging for the kingdom, but when they came to David, he said, "Take not the Holy Ghost from me." He knew that his dependency and his essence was tied [music] to the Holy Ghost. If you take the Holy Ghost, the kingdom is nothing. The Holy Ghost was more important to him [music] than the kingdom of Israel. SO TO PLEASE THE FATHER became his heartbeat and that was the heart of David. [music] So until WE COME TO THAT POINT WHERE OUR HEART beats and [music] the heartbeat of God is the same then the heart of David is not really ours [music] because we are considering this man then we should take up the nature. For somebody here, you have strategies. You have plans. But can you say to the Lord, [music] "There's nothing I can do without you. Not my will, but your will. Not my plan, but yours. Not my strategy, but yours. Not my own opinion, [music] but your opinion."
[music] I can on my own. I can [music] on my own. [music] I [singing] can make [music] I can make it on [singing] my own. Yes, I [music] can make it. I can [music] make you on [singing] my own. So continue with the sound. Okay. instrumentals. Okay, we're considering the heart of David with focus on love dimensions. The heart of David with focus on love dimensions. So for the past two weeks, we've been studying on David, the heart of David. And the focus has been on sacrifices, [music] right? Focus has been on sacrifices. We live in a generation where a lot of people love to get involved with sacrifices. I perceive the Lord will have me speak certain words to certain people, but let's stay on the [music] word first. Okay, if time permits, we'll get into that. Praise the Lord. A lot of sacrifices. Fasting is a function of sacrifice being made to the Lord. When you give is sacrificial, [music] especially when it's from nothing. Hallelujah. At this point or juncture in Nigeria, coming to church is also a sacrifice. Some people pay bills, I mean to transport themselves here, thousands of naira. You know, there could be churches all around, but you decided to fellowship here. Sacrifice and that's the heart of David. So we saw that he did those sacrifices not because he was expecting a reward. Hallelujah. But because he was interested in the will of the father and that was a hard posture that David had. And we learned about that and we've been getting involved in sacrifices. I want to believe right. Hallelujah. But it's important also we consider that the heart of David was the heart of a man that was filled with love. And that is why we're looking at the love dimension.
Now if you read Romans chapter 15 and verse 4, Apostle Paul writing the church in Rome, he says, "For whatsoever [music] things that were written before time," he said, "they were written for our learning that we may through patience and comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope." Praise the Lord. So everything that was documented in the Bible, they were written for our learning. They were written such that we glean from their wisdom. Praise the Lord. I said this one time and I'm saying again today that wisdom, the way God gives us wisdom is that he gives us his word number one or he gives us people. No one is foolish on his own. The way to walk in foolishness is also tied to the association you keep and to the things that you pay attention to. as regards your hearing. Hallelujah.
So, Apostle Paul then addressing the church in Galatia, what he say in Galatians 3 in verse one. Sorry, I'm very Bible I'm very doctrinal. So, you are fine with Bible, right? That's why you came to church, right? Amen. So, once I'm speaking above your head, wave your hands, okay? Is it fine? If I'm speaking too fast to raise just raise your hand, okay? Is it good? So, if you with me to this point, say amen. [music] Amen. Glory to God. So he says to them in Galatians 3:1, "Who has bewitched you? Oh ye foolish Galatians or oh foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you?" Right? Now he didn't say what he say who. Meaning that based on the instructions I've given to you, it is able to make you wise. Remember his council with themote how that he says through the pages of scripture they are able to impart you onto wisdom for salvation. Right? So he had already counseledled and thought built up this church in Galatia. However, they started giving their ears to other things and that's the thing with sounding mysterious. I was sharing in a meeting on Friday [music] how that many things that we say are actually nonsense. The cravings to sound deep outside of the written word is a craving to be lost. Hallelujah. Someone who has not learned on righteousness wants to learn on the constellation of the moon and stars. Hallelujah. You want to learn of how the sarafhic movements they are moving d or wait what is holiness? What's righteousness? And that's one thing about God's word impacts us with wisdom. The same word that saved you [music] is enough to grow you. Hallelujah. Peter writing in 1 Peter chapter 2, if you start from verse one, how that he was saying that lay aside. Okay, you're going to run. Okay, lay aside all filthiness, all malice, hypocrisies, guile, envys, and evil speaking. Okay. He goes further to verse two and he says, [music] "As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby." So if you do not desire it, growth cannot happen. You must first desire growth and approve of desire is pursuit. Are you with me? So you cannot desire a thing and not pursue after it. Brothers, you cannot desire a sister and not pursue. Hallelujah. A lot of sisters have desired Brazilian hair and they've pursued after it. I will forever be chasing after you. Hallelujah. They've been going after it. SO IT SAYS DESIRE THE SINCERE MILK OF A WORD. SO IF YOU DESIRE IT, YOU WILL PURSUE AFTER IT. Praise God. I know that brothers will be in meetings and during worship is a sister that they you know the one I [singing] love is [music] ever before me. Meanwhile, she's in front of you truly. Hallelujah. It's you that I [music] see. It's you that I see. Praise [music] God. So in all your desire, pursue. So you don't just say, "I love the word." Pursue after it. Moses while he was about living had to instruct Joshua. Popular scripture Joshua 18. He says, "This book of the Lord shall not depart from thy mouth." The way it will not depart from your mouth is that your eyes will see it. Deuteronomy chapter 6 from verse 6, down 9, IT SAYS, "WRITE IT. MAKE IT PLAIN. LET IT BE ON THE BANGLES. LET IT BE ON THE IN THE DOPLES. LET IT BE EVERYWHERE. LET HIM SEE THESE THINGS.
So if we must learn David and the state of his heart, we must learn his devotion. So in Psalms chapter one and from verse one, Bible says, "Blessed is the man that sit not in the seat of a scul or nor delight in the way of sinners." Right? But his delight is in the law of the Lord. For in it he meditate, right? Day and night. For he shall be okay, you see verse one. Like a tree, verse three, planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season, his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he dwet, he shall what? Prosper. So David stayed there. You will see how that David was referred to as a man after God's heart. Why was it called a man after God's heart? Because he knew the will of God. And the will of God is not in the air, is in the word. It was um um Kenneet Ehagen who said that faith begins where the will of God is known. And where the will of God is known is written in the word. Hallelujah. And there are three major wheels of God. Number one is that man is saved. Number two is that the kingdom is populated. And number three is that man grows in stature. Praise the Lord. I hope that um we would get time to focus on that. But we need to concentrate on the heart of David. The heart of David was a heart of love. So the things that were written according to Romans 15:4, they were written for our examples. They are written for our learning. 2 Timothy 3:16, Apostle Paul writing in Timothy, he says, "All scripture, they are written UH BY THE INSPIRATION OF THE ALMIGHTY." So the Holy Ghost inspired the writings. 2 Peter 1:18, 19, 20, 21, 22. Let's stay on 20:21. You will see how the Bible helps us see that holy men spoke as they were moved. So they didn't speak because they felt like speaking. They spoke because they were moved to speak. So every documentation in scripture is inspired by the Holy Ghost. Even the mentioning of the harlots in scripture. Amen. Yeah. Uhhuh. They married multiple wives in the Old Testament. Doesn't it mean that God permits us to marry? No. Their mistakes were written so that you will learn not so that you replicate it. And that is why we do not see God best until we see him through the lens of Christ. So whatever Jesus did not validate is not permitted to be a doctrine. Praise the Lord. And you see quickly how that we build doctrines. I think I've shared this one or two places. How that we build doctrines. Doctrines are built majorly about five or six focal points. Number one, um, you must check out if it is written in the Torah, [music] right? That's the first five books, right? Genesis, what reference was it there? Um, was it was made there? Okay, check out for it. Was, for instance, let's use love as a litmos test. Was it mentioned in Genesis? Was it mentioned in Leviticus, um, Deuteronomy, Exodus? Was it there? Then the second place that you need to check when you're testing for [music] validity of doctrine is to check in the book of the prophets. Check the prophets. Okay? So when you check the prophets, you check the psalms number three. Okay? You check the four gospels. Hallelujah. You check the epistles. Amen. How many is that now? Praise God. Before we form doctrine, holiness check all through it stands right check all through love it stands. So we don't just come say h I think I think I think and that's the only way you cannot become a victim of edatitus you don't eat titus was titus is sinning so the visions people are having we place it side by side with scripture so scripture becomes the final authority praise [music] God so he says the things were written for our examples say for my examples for my learning. [music] My life is made better by the authority of the word. So stay with me. So in case you're writing, write this. Scriptures was written to be spoken [music] and it was spoken to be written. So if these men wrote as they were inspired of the Holy Ghost, [music] it means that they heard before they wrote. Right? So it was spoken and then written and it was written to be spoken. Right? So each thing each time you look through scriptures and you study, it is to the end that you are empowered to speak the same. Are we together? So David was a man of the word because he was a man after God's heart. God's heart is written codified in letters. So if you do not have access to the written word, you might not have access to his heart. The heartbeat, the heartbeat of God is made very visible by the written word. What's the heartbeat of God? Souls. What's God doing on not building buildings? Sorry, he's not building cathedrals. God is winning souls. This is going to sound a little controversial, but that's the truth. God is not taking seven mountains of influence because Jesus did not emphasize that. If you must take the seven mountains of influence, it's to the end that you are propagating the gospel. Amen. [music] So if you want agriculture, you want tech, you want all those, good. It shouldn't be because, oh, I'm going to take it because that's what Jesus died for. No, no, he didn't die for that. He died for souls. Amen. [music] Is it fine? Awesome.
Now, David had to pray in Psalms 119 and verse 18. David [music] says, "Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." Praise the Lord. Open my eyes that I may behold. Not just look at anything, not just see anything, but I may behold wondrous things out of thy Lord. Jeremiah had to say in Jeremiah 15:16 [music] that what I did eat and it became meat and rejoicing of my soul. [music] So there are things in the word David sought after. Men of old have sought after and we also should seek after. Praise the Lord. Again we are talking about love dimensions as a [music] subtopic of the heart of David. Praise the Lord. Quickly let's read together Psalms 19 verse 7-14. We're going to read together Psalms 19 verse 7-14. Is it? Are we ready? Let's try and read together. One to go. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making let's stay there. So he says the law of the Lord is perfect. means that it's flawless, right? And next thing he's doing is that he's converting the soul. Okay? And next thing he does is that he makes wise the simple. By simple here it means the foolish. Okay? So he makes them wise. God's word is able to impart [music] wisdom. I use King James version. I grew up reading old King James. though. All my memorizations are old king James. I'm sorry. Amen. Next verse, verse 8. [music] It says, "The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is what? clean, enduring. The judgments of the Lord are true [music] and righteous alltogether. More to be desired are they than gold. Yay. Sweeter also. Let's stay here. Now, sometimes you can raise songs and say that I wouldn't trade you for it is [music] good. I won't trade you for riches unto you are. You are my everything. You are You are my everything. Sometimes when we sing it is because we have not really seen riches untold. You know what riches untold is you are [music] the reason I live. If it was pastor Lawrence who was sharing with us, you will know the heartbeat. Your heart knows what you respond to. So we can say it you looking at 100,000 I wouldn't trade you. I mean when that money comes in where they're just telling you just sign this your share is just $100 million. I mean an alert you receive and you cannot sleep. Not because you are sick but because your heart is already finding are you they just say sign just sign. It's easy to play church and stand and say [music] I love you forever. It's because our love has not really been tested. [music] Love is not butterflies in your belly. [music] The butterfly will develop into something else. And you know the lifespan of butterfly is short. [music] Hallelujah. It is Christ in me, [music] the hope of glory. So the sign of love is not that heart that is bumping [music] on WhatsApp. It is the cross. Hallelujah. So we must come to see this love will be tested. David's love was tested. [music] See the way we respond to things when pressure comes is a true reflection of the state of our heart. He said I [music] didn't know what came over me. I just saw that I slapped her. It has been hungering you if there's a word like that to slap her. [music] He said just got out of hand. Hallelujah. I cannot slap my wife. I cannot. But you slapped her. I didn't mean it. We know you meant it. Hallelujah. Get a bottle of Coke. [music] Shake it. Shake it. Shake it. Shake it. Shake it. Then open it up. [music] What will come out? Water. The same thing there. Same thing. Some people have been waiting to curse the nation. They've been waiting to curse the [music] president. And so he just needs to implement one policy that is not favorable. [music] And the next thing the floodgates. I said it. THAT MAN IS AH it has always been there. If you drive in a bad you will learn how to the the bikemen [music and singing] they they will teach you a lot. Your love will be tested. [music] And hear me this is not a prophecy. This week your love will be tested. [laughter] It's not a prophecy. This week your love will be tested. [music] Whether you say amen or not you will see it.
For those of us who grew up with siblings, [music] you know, you have you have a younger brother who you've arranged that tr you want to wear. He just visits you and the next thing he ransacks your wardrobe. That one that you have kept, he now sees that is bigger than him. [music] He now slim fits it. That's the one he loves. And the next scene is coming before you and say how does it look like [music] for our age. Yeah. That [music] you know I know some of us grew up in homes where your dad your mom was telling you that you are loving you are amazing. You're the next person that happened to them. When me I was growing, the way my dad and [music] mom perceives that we should understand love is that they paying our school fees. I love you and pay your school fees. I am I am I'm doing that. And my own father told me I love you before. [music] Maybe he would. Hallelujah. Uh it was in 2004 I heard I love you for the first time. I ran away. Yes, it was strange. How would you hear that? I I say you're lying, Joe. This guy know I beg. [music] I ran out of the library. Yes, that was SS1 or SS24. I ran away. It's not possible. Ah, which kind of love? I beg. In fact, the way we tell our siblings that they are looking well is that ah [music] you look like human being today. That's me telling my sister that she's looking beautiful. Ah Omar join eh that's a guy you are beautiful you are handsome see your head well the clothes is fine sh and so when people are now liking their post on [music] Instagram they are now that's my brother we can farms from afab we don't do that I think I shared once how that my sister had traveled and um I think then was um she she went to Malaysia for a few days [music] and when she returned obviously I'd missed that they were you know and so she came to church she came to look for me here and I [music] think I was attending some people so when I got down the ushers told me that ah your sister came look for [music] you so I just went to look for her and she saw me she was almost coming like you know I know we don't do that here like how far I missed you too what kind of hug I know handshake too okay but these things we learn [music] and the things we are handing over to our next generation to our children are a better version of the things that we experienced. [music] Not the same. Not the same. We are gleaning on their wisdom.
So [music] David was a man who longed after the heart of the Lord. Okay? So when he was comparing the law and the judgment of God to find gold, it was because his heart had seen gold. It was literal. [music] He didn't write. He said, "Uh, no, no, no." He had been tempted, [music] tested. He knew what he was saying. Praise God. Side by side. I know we [music] have a lot of unsincere people or insincess, sorry, insincere people in the church where we [music] say a lot of things that are different from the things we do. I know. But I'm saying that we should consider the heart of David based on this scripture. He said more to desire. God was talking about the Lord the judgment that is the Bible the the word than gold. [music] He went further to say yay than much fine gold in case that gold is not fine. He now say sweeter than honey and a honeycomb. [music] Praise God. Next verse. [music] Let's read together please. One to go. [music] Moreover, by them is thy servant, and in keeping of them [music] the same law. Continue. Next verse, we're going to verse 14. Who can understand his errors? [music] Cleanse thou me from secret faults. Next verse. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins, [music] lest let them not have dominion over me. Then shall I be upright, and I shall be what? [music] from next verse. Let's read together. One to go. Uh-huh. [music] Meditation on my heart. Be acceptable in thy sight. Oh Lord, my strength and my [music] redeemer. Hallelujah. Once there's a sync between what we say and the posture of our heart, [music] then we will make advancement. A lot of times we are saying a lot of things that different from a posture of our heart and David was not that man but he knew that it was natural for the human mind to think [music] differently from you know and say something different for what he's thinking and so he had to pray that let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart let it be acceptable in thy sight. It was a prayer and I think it's a good prayer to still pray. Hallelujah. Sometimes we have met people who we know that these ones have intentionally hurt us and yet you have to say to them, "Guy, [music] I love you. I celebrate you." In your heart, you are not celebrating them. Your heart is different from what you're saying. Such a one needs to really ask the Lord. Especially in our generation where we are healing everybody. Chama. Ah my boss I celebrate you. Meanwhile in your heart of heart I say see. Hallelujah. But that was not David. The heart of David was such that he understood his fities and he trusted the Lord to help him. I hope that you will not be too big to ask the Lord to help us. Hallelujah. [music] So a man can say that he loves the Lord, but until he spends time with the word of the Lord, his words are not true. God's word is his romantic peace to the [music] believer because he is a groom and we are his bride, right? So every documentation in the word is to the end that we are presented to him without what spot or wrinkle. Right? [music] You could see Ephesians 5:25-27 how that Bible Apostle Paul talking to the church in Ephesus. Husbands love your wife even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it that he may sanctify and cleanse it. Okay. With the washing of water by the word that he might present it to himself. All right. a glorious church having no spot or wrinkle, okay? Or any such thing that it should be holy and without blemish. Praise the Lord. So, David lived a life that was worth emulating. So, when you glean through scriptures, you see that the life of David was one that we need to learn. Yes, you've learned about his sacrifices. You must also learn about his heart, which is the heart of of love. Praise the Lord.
So quickly let's let me let's let's run let me see 1st Samuel 18 because of our time 1st Samuel 18 1st Samuel chapter 18 let me skip some things and verse one and it came to pass when he had made an end of speaking [music] unto Saul that the soul of Jonathan was what okay was neat with the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Now Jonathan loved David. Now you understand what had happened there. David had just defeated Goliath, right? And now this guy seen by Jonathan, Jonathan just saw him and said, "Ah, no, no, no, no. I love this guy." Brotherly love. I mean, the love that Jonathan had for David was such that Jonathan could die in the state of David. Jonathan was such a guy that he could boldly defend David anywhere. [snorts] At a point it was said that you know the father of Jonathan that is Saul, King Saul said to him, don't you know that this guy is going to be the next king. It's like saying that he's using your glory and yet you love the one using your glory. Do you understand what I'm saying? that what is meant to be yours. The one who would end the dynasty, who would end the the track record of leadership or kingship or whatever it is, royalty is the one you are saying that you love like your soul. He would inherit all that is meant to be yours and you say you are fine with it. That was the kind of love that Jonathan had for David. Before then, we didn't see if David had that kind of love towards others. But I could glean on that and say that Jonathan Jonathan's love for David made David's heart to come into a posture of love towards other men because before then if you read about his sacrifices yes you will see how that he had love for animals and all the likes right you could defend them and his heart was such that he could defend sacrifice himself towards that but now this was a human coming loving him as himself off. Now, few verses after this, the women started [music] singing that David defeated 10,000, Saul defeated 1,000. That's from around verse 7. [music] Now, conflict is always built or ignited or stirred up by words. By words. Now the true test of conviction. Convictions are tested on four platforms. Number one, time tests conviction. Number two, the devil tests conviction. Number three, God himself tests conviction. And number four, conflict tests [music] convictions. Right? Conflict. He say, "I love you, Lord. I will not leave you." And that is why when for instance if those of us who have finished from universities and all the likes you will see that the fact that you're a fellowship president does not mean that you will still serve the lord after after time just you just see that ah you need to pay bills oh I said ah no no no lord you know I love you but [music] we need to chase the bag you always be here let me chase the you will see praise the lord so time will go past and certain people will have lost Praise the Lord. Okay. So these women started singing those songs and the next thing that happened in the next verse verse 8 Bible says and Saul was rough right that is he was angry and the saying displeased him and he said they have ascribed unto David what to me they have ascribed but praise the Lord. So he heard them. So he was angry. Go to the next verse. And Saul eyed David from that day forward. This is King James. The truth is that he gave him bombastic side [music] eye that you heard. It's fine that you want to even take my son's possession. But like me and you now, they're now singing your praise in my presence. Hallelujah. Move on the next verse. Bible says and the very next day in fact a tormenting spirit from God. Hold on. Does God have a tormenting spirit? So you understand what this guy is saying. The absence of God's spirit is [music] room for the enemy to manifest. Right? So because at the point the spirit of the Lord was not upon him because strife was already in his heart. Okay? Competition was already there. self was already there. So it gave room for an evil spirit to operate. So it's not like God has evil spirits somewhere. So when you misview evil spirit, it's your time. So evil spirit, you have done enough. We come out. Oh yeah. No, God doesn't have it. So once there's no light, there will be darkness. [music] Amen. So the evil spirit came upon Saul and he prophesied in the midst of the house. Next thing that happened was that David played with his hand and as at all the times and there was a javelin in whose hands? And the next thing Saul did was he threw the javelin at him? Have you gone to the next verse? Yeah. It says, "And Saul cast the javelin, for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence how many times? He tried using the javelin [music] about two times. Now you know that this person does not just hate you in their heart. Physically they have showed you that auger it's like someone you visited and person say I love you that when you open and the person forgot to tell you that he has a rod trailer and a American pit boo and then you just open the gate once you open the gate lock it there's no gate man there I open it for you so you just open bar and next you lock it and the next thing these two guys are waiting for you I like to use an example of a dog because I remember the time when some Nepal guys came when it [music] was NEPA not BHT okay then and they came to the house to cut light and I told them that we had already paid they said no we have not paid and the way [music] the wire is if you cut it the wire will drop into the compound and you know they like to pack wire so I release the dog I said we have paid they say I'm not paid I said climb so the dog was barking from this end to that end from this end to that [music] end the barking everywhere barking Backing, backing, backing, backing, backing. So they couldn't cut it because if they cut it, they won't be able to pack it. Hallelujah. A lady once was going to, you know, grind pepper and looked, peeped, saw our dog, said, "Tiger, tiger, tiger." I told the [music] dog, "Hold on." She finished. No, God has forgiven me. So finished grinding the pepper. She was coming back and she came again. Tiger, tiger, tiger. And I said to him, catch her. That was my heart. I've changed. And he went after her and [music] she held on to the pepe. But it got to a point it was between her life and the peppe. So she threw the peppe. The dog returned home after the peppe came down. So immedately my dad returned. Then I said dad this happened today in case some people come to this is what I did. This guy he was say tiger tiger tiger. And I I knew he was going to defend me. So he was also waiting for them to come but they didn't come. And that's the natural state of heart of a man. Selfish [music] you know in fact I make bold to say that that is one reason why selfie was developed to help harness [music] the selfish nature in man because each time you point a camera at yourself you are the focus of attraction. You discover that your head is bigger than everybody's head because it's selfie. But the death on the cross was not a selfie. It was a group photograph. All of us we featured inside. Hallelujah. All of us were there. They didn't cut some people's head. He said, "We didn't see this." No, no. We were there. So when he died, we died. When he resurrected, we resurrected. Praise the Lord. So this guy had javelin thrown at him about twice. And yet he kept on going to serve the Lord. So, one thing happened. Let's jump to the next verse [music] or let's go to verse 14. Go to verse 14 because of our time. Go to verse 14. Bible says, [music] "And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways and the Lord was with him." Meaning that he had reasons to lose his mind. He had reasons to misbehave. But guess what? He still behaved wisely. [music] So the reason why a person will say that I started smoking because my parents abandoned me they did this is not because of those situation it was because [music] they lost themselves. David never lost consciousness of who he was his [music] identity. Are we together? He had a choice. It was enough reason for him to hate Saul. It was enough reason for him to say that no let me go and stay in the bush. If it is lion I'm contending against I know I'm contending against lion but this one you now say you love me you brought me to royalty and yet you are even attacking me you want to kill me thank God I escaped for my life praise the lord but these things were required they were important for the journey of becoming a king you see the greatest expression of a believer's maturity is his love work if you truly are maturing it will show in your love work in your love work. If your love work is still questionable, then truly your maturity is questionable. And that is the thing about this love work. We are all growing in it daily. Daily. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord.
So a war because of our time a war had broken up or broken [music] you know broken out and Saul was involved. He went with Jonathan. Let's jump to 2 Samuel chapter 1. We're going to stay on this for a bit. 2 Samuel chapter 1. We'll read from verse one. Now it came to pass after the death of Saul when David was returned from a slaughter of the Amalikites and David had abode two [music] days in Zigglac. Next verse it even came to pass on the third day that behold a man came out of a camp from Saul with his clo and [music] the earth upon his head. And so it was when he came to David that he fell to the earth and did obesence. Now hold on. Bible says [music] he came out from the camp. It didn't mean that he belonged to that camp, right? Thank you sir. Now he came out and he rent his clothes. So you would naturally say that he was mourning right? Come on now talk to me. You you say he was mourning right now that oh there's a loss. So we are mourning. So he tore his clothes and he came out. Even puts debt on his head. You say ah this guy is sympathizing with us. [music] Right. But move on. Next verse. He says, "David asked him, where have you come from?" He says, "I've escaped from the Israelite camp." The man replied. Just follow this story. Next verse. And David said unto him, "How went the matter?" I prayed thee. Tell me. And he answered that the people have fled from the battle and many of the people also are fallen and dead and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also. The way I'm saying it is I'm because I'm reading it. Go back. Let me actually say it possibly the way he said it. Ah hey the fight that broke out there is even God that saved me. Even Jonathan and Saul they are dead. say, "Wo, is God saved me? The only thing I came out with is my life." Next verse. Because if you hear that narrative or story, you start beating this guy. Uh-uh. Sorry. Thank God you're even alive, right? Not even knowing that he's the one. Move on. And David said unto the young man that told him, "How do you know that Saul is the eye that Go back to the previous verse. Thank you. King James version. That's what I love. Are you led? Okay. And he answered, next verse, please. Verse 5. And David said unto the young man that [music] told him, "How knowest thou that Saul and Jeratan his son be dead?" Next verse. And the young man that told him said, "As I happened by chance, you would see whether it's chance upon Mount Gilboa, behold Saul leaned upon his pair, and lo, the chariots and the horsemen followed hard after him." Next verse. And when he looked behind him, he saw me. Someone who is in war. And he called unto me and I answered, "Here am I." You see the story. Now you think that is one of them. With this, if you have read to this point, you will believe he's one of them, right? But look at what happened. And he said UNTO ME, "WHO ART THOU?" AND I ANSWERED HIM, "I am the people that we are fighting against. So [music] your position now called you to come. I don't know if you are on you are following and you too you now you just ah I am your enemy and he felt comfortable with you. Next verse and he said unto me again stand I pray thee upon me and slay me. Simply put he begged me to kill him for anguish is come upon me because my life is yet whole in me. Next verse. So I stood upon him and slew him. See the way he said it. Because I was sure that he could not leave. Could he leave Jo? So I just finished the work. After that he was falling and I took the crown from upon his head and the bracelet that was on his arm and I have brought them hither unto my Lord is the audacity for me. So he brought it to David so that David you know you have been anointed king now and this one has been standing on your way. You know we can even raise it as a prayer point. Every man who has been standing upon my rightful position. Oh yeah. What are you waiting for? Die. DIE. RIGHT. BECAUSE THAT SHOULD BE HIS PRAYER POINT. And now they are presenting to you what you have been praying for. Next verse. And David took hold on his clothes and [music] rent them. So he was not even excited at are we together. So the fact that he got it was not it. It was a process of getting it. The heart posture we must have if it is going to break hearts for us to arrive at it. That is not what God will plan for us to have. If we have to BRUISE HEADS, A LOT OF BLOOD SHED JUST FOR US TO HAVE THAT WHICH was rightfully ours. And you can understand what happened to Jacob and Esau. IT WAS PROPHESIED AHEAD OF TIME that Jacob will rule over. But Jacob had to put in flesh to help. And after he even got the blessing from his father, he still wrestled with an angel and he was telling the angel to bless him. If you were blessed by your father, which blessing again are you asking for? He said, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." But your father has blessed you. And that is when you come to see how that truly it is the blessing of the Lord that maketh a man rich and he has no atom of sorrow added to it. Jacob then stood before Pharaoh and Pharaoh asked him how old he was and he had to addund and something hard years. King James added hard to it. He had toiled all his life. He was carrying the blessing. But yet he was suffering because the process was not well done. Each time we break God's [music] process. Each time we break God's process, we elongate our journey each time. So the heart of David here was that he didn't want this to come to him leadership to come to him based on the hurt of another. If you read 1st Samuel 24, you will see how that David tore a piece of the clo of Saul and his heart broke. Ah, so other men were like, "Ah, God has given you." I mean, the guys who were the mighty men, God has given you said, "No, how dare me touch the anointed of the Lord." That was his heart. Now the push of that heart in 1st Samuel 24 imparted on please go back to 2 Sam. I'm sorry chapter one imparted upon the heart of these guys who walked with him because after David rent his clothes THE NEXT THING THAT happened was that these people also rent their clothes. [music] Watch 2 Samuel 1. Are you there? Next verse. See, then David took hold of his clothes and rented them. Likewise, all the men that were with him. SO, IT WAS NOT JUST SOMETHING THAT DAVID DID. THE HEART OF DAVID HAD been imparted on them. No competition here. Our generation has a problem where we begin to compete with people we should be learning from. Competing with people we should be collaborating with. That was not David. The people who had walked with him had come to take a glean from his heart. But that's not where we are going to. This verse says, "And they mourned and wept and fasted until even for Saul and for who? His son. And for the people of the Lord and for THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL." ARE YOU SEEING THE HEART? Because they were fallen by the sword. Next verse. But it looked like David just took a break from the suru. Now ask this young man that brought the news where is thou and he answered I am the son of a stranger an amalikite you even he even said you're a stranger. David then said unto him, "HOW WAS THOU NOT AFRAID TO STRETCH FORTH THY HAND to destroy the Lord's anointed? Me that have been anointed, I can say that after all, it's anointed against anointed." I be man of God against man of God. But you, you've not even SMELLED MINISTRY AND YOU ARE DRAGGING MEN OF GOD ONLINE. YOU'RE NOT EVEN A WORKER. [music] YOU HAVE NOT PASTORED. Every friend that has come into your life, they have all left. YOU ARE STANDING ALONE AND YOU ARE BOLDLY DRAWING AND DRAGGING MEN. And that's how those men of God are. That's how they are. And next thing we chat you up, what church do you attend? What do you do in your church? Said, no, I just like to stay low. I'm just there in the church. I don't like to be noticed. YOU ARE NOT SERVING IN ANY CAPACITY, NO RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN, then you have no right to talk. He asked him, who are you? He [music] said is I'm a son of a stranger, an Amalachite. I says, what gave you the boldness that you now think that you can now touch the Lord's anointed? [music] Next verse. And David called one of the young men and said, "Go near and fall upon him." Simply put, go near him and kill him. And he smoked him and he died. That mouth, that's the last news. The one he thought he brought good news, but good news became the head of his life. And David said unto him, "Thy blood be upon thy head [music] and for thy mouth, [music] it has testified against thee, saying, I have seen the anointed." So most things that stand against people are the word spoken. He didn't not even because he killed the anointed, but [snorts] because he could speak. And you hear the words of Jesus saying that the sin is even greater in the heart than it is in action. That if you look at a woman lustfully, you have committed immorality with her in your heart. The devil did not have to. It was in his heart that I [music] will ASCEND AND BE. GOD JUDGED HIS HEART FIRST AND EACH TIME we come before the Lord, the Lord first judges our heart. The summary and the totality of a man's life is first the posture of his heart as a man thinkketh in his heart. So he is so the words you would say is out of the abundance of your heart. Maybe he was thinking that the next he will give him a ministerial position for bringing the crown. After all you slew my enemy. No that was not the heart of David. Move to the next verse. David then made a very very profound statement when he was lamenting. Next verse he says. Next verse ma'am. Next verse turn not is said good. He says the beauty of Israel is slain upon the high places. How are the mighty fallen? Next verse he now goes further to say tell it not in Gats. publish it not in the streets of Ashcelon, LEST THE DAUGHTERS OF THE PHILISTINES will rejoice. SO THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN IN THIS FAMILY BECAUSE LOVE
IS AT THE CORE OF OUR HEART. It will also end in our heart. It does not go outside of our heart. It doesn't need to be heard by another because the same offense in my heart will be multiplied when it is heard by another. Are we together?
So David says, "Let's [music] kill it. Let's make sure it's not published. Let's make sure nobody's testifying of it." And that was why he killed that guy. You can't talk about it. That he the Lord's anointed died anyhow. [music] The Lord's anointed. Yes, he had every right to say that he was against me. He was doing this against me. But again, the Lord had his hand upon him. Praise [music] the Lord. He said, "Lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, [music] lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph."
There are things that happen in the body of Christ and you see the way people talk about it, you will know that the love for the body is not there. And this morning if we are learning about the heart of David, we must learn about the love dimension that David had in which [music] when he saw his enemies, people who were not enemies in in secret, enemies publicly, he still loved them. And that is why I say a lot of times that love is for our nature before it is our culture. [music] Love is not something we first give. Love is for something we are, we became, [music] we can give because we have. Every demand God makes upon a man is a demand of his investment upon such a man. God has invested love in our heart. So when he demands for it is not above our capacity to deliver. Hallelujah. And God wants you to love. Jesus speaking to his disciples, he says, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye love one another." Hallelujah. If you love one another, Matthew chapter 5, if you read downwards, you see how that Jesus was saying to them, how that they should love not just as the way the world loves. Where is your reward if you love the way they love? So we ought to take our love ahead above the love expressed [music] by this world. Love is not a now is a doing word. Love is not understood until it is expressed. Love gives.
AND THAT WAS THE HEART of David. David gave. David did not just give his substance. He gave himself. Apostle Paul did the same. While I was studying, I came across a woman who, you know, likened to one of the god's generals, um, I think, um, Mark Fen. Am I correct? Media, I think you guys have the [music] name. She developed a bow leg for constantly going to preach the gospel. [music] She was always riding on a horse. So after a while, she developed ble. She was not born like that. Some of us want to maintain our figure eight. We don't want to lose anything for the gospel. How much will you do for the love of the gospel? Hallelujah. If the whole crux of the gospel that you have believed has to do with the things that you have gotten, then you have not really come to embrace the gospel. The gospel when received, yeah, that's an Amy simple mfassen. Okay. The whole crux of the gospel is not just what we receive, it's also what we lose. You must lose self. Lose self. A man was asked, they said to him, "What have you gained by praying? You are still on the same one room apartment and nothing has changed." He said, "Yes, I agree that I'm in the same one room apartment and that and that and that." But one thing has happened. I've lost anger. I've lost malice. I've lost ability to hold on to strife. [music] What have you lost to the gospel? Is the gospel priced enough to make you inconvenient? Me, I just love my convenience. You I just love it. Have you come [music] to that point where you can go all out for the gospel? Some people cannot hear God say to them, [music] "Sell all that you have and give for the cause of the gospel." Some people are graduates today. They cannot hear. Even in our age, it's becoming more strange to hear God say to people, resign your job and go to a village and be a missionary. It's becoming strange. Leave all and follow. Leave all and follow. All Apostle Paul says THAT I EVER COUNTED gain I saw it AS LOSS. ALL I FELT THAT I LOST, I found out [music] that it was truly gain. So all that you ever think, imagine that you lost to the gospel, heavenwise, it was a gain. All that you thought you gained by your convenience, if it is not translated to souls, then it was truly not a game.
The heart of David is the heart of love. Every day love will be demanded from you. Your response must be enough given to everyone. Give it to everyone. This guy came to Jesus asked how [music] many times should I forgive my brother? And Jesus said 70 * 7 right in a day. So it means that you must be jobless to be counting. number one step on you said you know I'm warning you that's how you did the other time number two I forgive you number three until 490 right no Jesus was simply saying [music] that love is in your heart count no wrong see me and hear me well if you read 1 Corinthians 13 you will see that a man can sacrifice and yet have no love but you cannot love and not sacrifice you can do the things that David did and yet not have the hearts that David had. But the heart ensures that you have the result and that is why we are considering the heart of David.
I want you to bow your heads and ask the Lord. The Lord, find my heart yielded to your word [music] yielded to your instructions, yielded to your pruning. We are like those people in the hands of [music] you know the potter. The way he pleases is the way he moves us. [music] And we have seen the heart of David. How that he loved. [music] He had reasons not to love but he loved. He saw men who HURT HIM AND YET HIS RESPONSE was love. long lost relationships will be restored. [music] Lift your voice and talk to your father to help your heart. [music] Tell him to help your heart. [music] I want to see you more clearly. [music and singing] Love you more dearly. follow [music] you monarly day by we want to see [music] you [singing] more clearly. Love you more [music] dearly. [singing] Follow you more [music] deeper. [music] I want you to get a neighbor. We're going to pray the prayer we prayed last week. [music] Philippians chapter 1 verse 9 and 10. Get one neighbor. You're [music] going to pray for that neighbor. Philippians 1 9 and 10. Just one person. Get [music] one person to pray with. Are you there? Philippians [music] 1 9-10. I sense the anointing of our Lord here. I'm waiting. Philippians 1. [music] If you can pick your Bibles, please do. Okay, they're here. Let's read together. Okay, let's read together. One to go. And this I pray. That your love may abound yet [music] in knowledge. Verse 10. [music] Wow. That he may approve things that are excellent. That he may be sincere. So [music] you're going to look at your neighbor and you're going to read this scripture in prayers to them. Are you are you are you with me? From verse [music] 9. Take it again. Proverbs 9. You are praying for them. And this I pray that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. Next verse. That ye may approve things that are excellent. That he may be sincere. [music] Lift your voice and pray for that neighbor. [music] Pray for that brother. Pray for that sister that their love may abound yet more and more [music] that they may APPROVE THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT. Be sincere without offense. Come on, pray. [music] [music] Yes sir, we are that church that loves. [music] Yes sir, we are that church that loves. Whatsoever [music] things are pure, whatever things are lovely, there are things you are to prove on your heart is without offense. My God, [music] your heart is without offense. My God [music] [music] in Jesus name we are praying. Get another neighbor to pray for. [music] Some people's hearts as we are praying for them, some people's hearts are receiving healing. While we are praying for some other people, we are preparing [music] them for the days ahead. We're preparing them for the days ahead where their hearts [music] will be yielded to give love at the face of offense. [music] We're going to pray the same scripture over this new neighbor [music] from verse 9. that their love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment that they will approve things that are excellent that they will be sincere without offense [music] till the day of Christ. Lift your voice and pray for that brother online on ground. [music] Lift your voice and pray for that sister. Your heart is without offense. Offense has no place in your heart. Love will grow in you. You will grow in the knowledge of the love of the father. [music] Yet more and more. Yet more and more. [music] Yet more and more. [music] Yet more and more. Let's more and more. [music] Let's pray. I perceive a second wave of the anointing. [music] I began to hear how that the spirit of wisdom is being released. I heard it on Friday. I'm hearing it again. How that is impacting his sons and his daughters with the spirit of wisdom. With the spirit of wisdom. It's like the wisdom of the ancient. [music] It's like the wisdom of the ancient. It's like the wisdom of the [music] ancient. Yeah, I heard this on Friday. Young ancient. [music] Yeah, there's a spirit in man. [music] The breath of the Almighty giveth him understanding. Wow.
