As the age of Pisces gives way to the Aquarian age, Humanity has a choice. Do we walk down the path of transhumanism, merge with machines, and lose many of the qualities that make us human? Or do we honor our Birthright as human beings and explore the extraordinary capabilities of the unmodified human body? In other words, do we use technology to try to make gods of ourselves, or do we recognize that the kingdom of God is already within us? This is a collective decision, but it's also one that we're all going to have to make as individuals in the next few years. And it's what I've started to think of as the great split. Some of us will go one way, and others will go another.
In this episode of World Astrology Report, we're going to explore the great split, the trends that led up to it, and where things may be going. So strap in for another journey into the past to understand the present and the future.
In the past few hundred years, we lived through a very unusual period in history. During this time, vast numbers of people, particularly but not only in the West, came to believe that there was no such thing as the realm of spirit. They came to believe that stories of the supernatural, of ghosts and magicians and witches, or grander stories about the purpose of human existence and God and the Persistence of the spirit Beyond Death, were just that—stories.
In the 19th century, when conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn were taking place in the earth signs, societies were being transformed by machines: the steam engine, the railway, the power loom. And so people came to believe that the Universe was itself a great machine, composed of physical matter, the behavior of which was governed by immutable laws of physics. And to them, this physical matter was primary. They believed that if all the conscious beings in the universe vanished, matter would remain; the machine would keep churning on. And so they believed that Consciousness was a phenomenon generated purely by the brain; that any sense we might have that we amount to more than our material composition was nothing more than an illusion; and that death was the end.
But this way of seeing the world is a historical aberration. Very few people in human history have ever seen it this way. The sense that we're more than matter, that the cosmos is alive and infused with Consciousness, seems to be innate to human beings. And following Occam's razor, the simplest explanation for why that is is that these things are true. We're drawn inevitably to believe in spirit because we are Spirit.
But over the past couple of centuries, the forces of industry and materialism managed to banish spirituality to a protected corner of Life called religion. They almost completely eradicated the "woo woo" from everyday life, but not quite. You can drive out nature with a pitchfork, but it always comes roaring back again.

To the dismay of the devotees of scientism, the weird and rather dismal materialist quasi-religion that has accompanied the emergence and stunning successes of the scientific method, the "woo" is returning. As the Industrial Revolution was getting underway in the early 19th century, certain initiates of the mystery schools were horrified by what they were seeing, and they realized that they had to take some action if they wanted to prevent the materialist mindset from completely eradicating any conception of spirit in humanity. And so, as described by C.G. Harrison in his remarkable book of 1896, *The Transcendental Universe*, and as dark journalist Daniel Liszt has covered repeatedly on his channel, they initiated the wave of spiritualism that swept the world in the 19th century, starting with the Fox sisters. Mediums and séances became all the rage. But this was eventually seen as an experiment that failed. It didn't lead to a deeper understanding of the spiritual World, rather a conception of that world as being very similar to this one, only separated by the Wall of Death.
But later came the great occult Revival of the late 19th century, led by Helena Blavatsky and her Theosophical Society, founded in 1875, and then the other public occult organizations that emerged at that time. And this happened at a cyclically crucial time—the conjunction of Pluto and Neptune—indicating that these were seeding events at a seed moment, and that they'd come to change the world.
As the 20th century got underway, C.G. Jung brought the world of spirit back into the scientific study of the human psyche. And later, the work of people like Charles Fort, John Keel, Jack Vallee, and countless others showed that the world was far weirder than anyone still clinging to Conventional wisdom wanted to believe. Even mainstream science itself abandoned the mechanistic model of the world; quantum physics showed that matter was insubstantial and only attained form when seen by an observer. This is what the mystics were telling us all along. And so quantum physics proved that Consciousness, not matter, was primary, fatally undermining the Machine model of the cosmos.
Today, we're gradually seeing a mass Reawakening to the spiritual and spectral dimensions of existence. We see it in the growing acceptance of astrology and remote viewing and other unconventional ways of knowing. We see this in the gradual acceptance that psychic phenomena and UFOs are very real. We see it in the growing realization that ancient peoples had knowledge that we don't and were far more advanced than mainstream historians like to admit. And this is really just a return to normalcy. The early scientists were all into what today would be considered weird stuff; they were Mystics, Cabalists, astrologers. And so, like Wile E. Coyote running off a cliff, those people who still hold to the materialist model of the world are about to realize that the Paradigm they're standing on has nothing substantial to hold it up. In a certain sense, they already know they've lost this battle, and so they're fighting some kind of rear-guard action by promoting the idea that we're living in a simulation.
Conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn move from the Earth signs into the air signs in 1980. Air is the element of communication, connection, and intelligence. Since then, as our societies have become increasingly dominated by Information Technology, we're starting to see theories of the cosmos that say that everything is really just information, and that we're living in a simulation. They seem to like this idea because it implies that somewhere there really is a fundamental material reality—and comforting for them—it has computers in it. It seems to me that popular models of the cosmos mostly depend on whatever technology happens to be dominant at the time and seems to be influenced by the Jupiter Saturn conjunctions. In the mechanistic earth age, we lived in a machine; in the informational air age, we live in a simulation. Give it a couple of hundred years, when we're living in an age of water, and the theory will be that we live in a cosmic womb.
But back to the present. We've been through an extremely materialistic period, dating back to the Enlightenment, and are now slowly but surely rising out of it. But was there a point to these centuries of capitalism and material realism? Was there a point to what legendary astrologer Robert Hand has called The Endarkenment? Well, I think there was. The poet T.S. Eliot wrote, "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." And so that period in the darkness wasn't for nothing; we learned a few useful things, and it was necessary to abandon an older model of society when knowledge was guarded by a priestly class who decided which small portions of the truth would be fed to the masses.
That things have changed because this is an era of mass initiation. One of the figures coming up in the late 19th century was the Austrian Mystic Rudolph Steiner. Steiner was a brilliant scholar of Goethe, an initiate, and a member of the Theosophical Society. He later formed his own organization, the Anthroposophical Society. And Steiner called his approach spiritual science—science. He believed that we could and should investigate the spiritual world with the same rigor and rationality as we approach Natural Science. He taught people to tap into their natural Clairvoyant abilities, and he wanted to bring disciplined observation and thinking to spirituality. Steiner died 100 years ago, in 1925, at the end of a life dedicated to promoting spirituality. He believed that materialism had led to World War I and thought that if it wasn't checked, it would lead to a still worse War, which of course came in the form of World War II. But he said that Anthroposophy would get another chance to move the world in a more spiritual direction in the 21st century, around the time we're living through now.
And here, I think it's time to talk about the age of Aquarius. The subject of the astrological ages is a slippery and poorly defined one for the most part, and that's why I haven't talked much about them on this channel. But I've recently been drawn towards exploring them. I recently gave a 2-hour live stream on this subject, which members of World Astrology Report can watch right now on my website.
Now, the astrological age is conventionally defined by the point in the Zodiac that the sun is in at the Spring Equinox each year. Due to the phenomenon of the procession of the equinoxes, that point of the zodiac is changing over time, over the course of a cycle lasting about 25,800 years. It cycles around the Zodiac, moving by about 1 degree every 72 years. One way of dividing up the processional cycle into phases is the Yuga cycle, which I gave a recent long-form live stream on, which you can watch again on Worldastrologyreport.com. But another way is to divide the 25,800 years into the 12 Zodiac signs, giving 12 ages of 2,150 years each.
The sun is in the constellation of Pisces right now at the Spring Equinox in the sidereal Zodiac, which is the Zodiac aligned with the stars rather than the seasons, as in the tropical zodiac. The Vernal point is at about 24° of Pisces now, and that point won't reach the sign of Aquarius for more than 400 years.
Now you may already know a bit about the age of Pisces, which many astrologers link with the coming of Christ. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and as such, Pisces has one foot in the real world and one in the world beyond. It's a sign that tends to be very conscious of the flaws of the material world and one which seeks return to the ocean of Consciousness. It's the Sign of Mystics, Martyrs, drunks, and Poets.
The astrological age is defined by the interaction between the tropical zodiac, which is linked to the seasons and thus to life on Earth, and the sidereal Zodiac, which is connected to the Divine Realm of the stars. And so it's said primarily to influence spiritual beliefs and symbols and objects of worship. In the age of Taurus, bull worship was common, as in the Minoan civilization or in Egypt with the god Apis. When that age gave way to the age of Aries, the Bulls became sacrificial Rams. And in the age of Pisces, Christianity rose, the symbol of which in the early days was a fish. The disciples were fishermen, and Jesus called himself a fisher of men.
The religions that appeared during the age of Pisces, like Islam and Christianity, have certain things in common with the distinct flavor of Pisces. Both see the world in terms of Good and Evil; both exalt martyrdom—the sacrifice of one's life for one's faith and God; both are focused on life after this one, and whether it will be spent in heaven or hell; and both have a strong eschatological dimension. They have an inbuilt belief in the coming of the end times, which will be marked by a colossal battle.
But it won't have escaped your attention that the times and the spiritual orientation of the world have changed already over recent centuries. We've seen the rise of Science, scientism, and Atheism. Yet we've also seen a return to the world of spirit that I described earlier in this video. What's going on? Could it be that the age of Aquarius has already begun?
The Australian astrologer Terry McKennal has pioneered a completely different approach to calculating the astrological ages, and it centers around the understanding that astrology was always, in the ancient past, a visual art. What was important to ancient astrologers was what could be seen in the sky, not the abstractions that we get from using astrological charts. If you look at the first stars rising from the Horizon on the Spring Equinox, you can't see the stars of Pisces because they're obscured by the brightness of the Sun. What was important to ancient astrologers looking at the stars? It was the moment that they made what's called their visible helical rising. This is the first moment that they're visible in the night sky just before the sun rises. For example, the ancient Egyptians began their year at the time the star Sirius, the dog star, made its helical rising. And the stars making their helical rising on the Spring Equinox now are the stars in the constellation of Aquarius. So McKennal argues that the age of Aquarius actually began in 1433, roughly when history scholars believe that the Medieval Age ended and the Modern Age began. He believes that the age of Aquarius is modernity, in other words. And so, with this way of seeing things, we're already deep into the age of Aquarius, and the age of Aquarius really began in the early 15th century, around the time that the printing press was invented, which soon led to the Protestant Reformation, the rise of the scientific method, and the decline of the Catholic church.
Now you might think that the age of Aquarius can't have arrived yet because the age of Pisces religions like Christianity and Islam are still very strong. Well, we need to think of the astrological ages as acting like waves, not blocks. At the start of an astrological age, the new sign starts to assert itself; its influence builds and builds over the course of the age, reaching a maximum at the end of its age. It then gradually diminishes as the next sign asserts itself over 2,000 plus years. So, by this reckoning, the influence of Pisces and Piscean thinking is still strong, albeit declining, but the age of Aquarius is already well underway. And I think we see that in the tension between the Piscean religions and things like atheism and the New Age, which I suspect are both reflections of the age of Aquarius.
The image of Aquarius is a man pouring water. The great wizard Carl Jung, who wrote extensively on the astrological ages, believed that in the age of Aquarius, man will be essentially God, and God man. Writing after the invention of the bomb, Jung wrote that, "The signs pointing in this direction consist in the fact that the cosmic power of self-destruction is given into the hands of man."
So let's assume the age of Aquarius is underway. What does this mean for Humanity? Well, I think that here we have a choice. We can recognize the Divinity already within us, following Jesus's words that the kingdom of God is within you. This is the path of spiritual science, the path that Rudolph Steiner advocated a century ago, and of which he prophesies the return of right around now. But there's another path we could take, a much darker one.
The writer and speaker Greg Braden recently released a book that explores the choice Humanity faces now, entitled *Pure Human*. In it, he outlines the choice faced by Humanity to acknowledge the Divinity already within human beings or to take another path, one that denies that Divinity and attempts to use technology to modify our bodies and genome to fix what it sees as the human predicament. This is the path of transhumanism, and it's the one that the new Silicon Valley Tech oligarchy is trying to push us onto.
But why? Well, if you're watching this, you're probably at least open to the idea that there's a spiritual dimension to life. But there are many people in the world who aren't—people who remain attached to what I consider illusions: that there is no realm of spirit, that life is merely the result of chaotic random processes, and that human existence is fundamentally meaningless and can only be given meaning by humans ourselves.
And here's the thing: if you believe that human life is the result of an inexplicable Cosmic accident in a cold, dead universe, and that each of us is alive only for a brief speck of time before entering Eternal Oblivion, then of course you want to live forever, and of course you believe that there's nothing sacred about the human body and that it could and should be modified to prevent all suffering and to extend life. If you think like this, you won't have any particular attachment to "reality." You'd probably think that a virtual realm that perfectly simulated the real one would be just as valid as the material one. The thing is that atheism and materialism inevitably lead to transhumanism, in my opinion. Most of the people who think this way aren't bad people; they just have a different, and in my opinion, false understanding of the cosmos.
With all this said, I think it's likely that dark spiritual forces are working through them, and there's probably a small group of people occupying positions of great power who are actually well aware of the realities of spirit but are pushing us down the transhumanist path anyway. One of those figures may well be World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab. The Future Forecasting Group team of remote viewers did a double-blind remote viewing of Schwab and saw that he was into astrology—something I talked about in this video just a few months into 2020, after the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Schwab—the Great Reset—his proposal to remake the world using the opportunity offered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Schwab's vision is a world in which everything and everyone are connected with digital technology as part of what he calls the Fourth Industrial Revolution. And make no mistake, this is a totalitarian vision—one in which every aspect of life of every human is controlled by corporations, plutocrats, and bureaucrats using AI. Of course, you'll own nothing and be happy, or face the consequences.
But this transhumanist vision isn't just about changing the world that we live and work in; it's about changing us. The transhumanist plan is for a Humanity augmented by technology and artificial intelligence, one in which our very genetic code is rewritten by AI in a bid to make us healthier and happier. One of the best-known transhumanist ideologues is the World Economic Forum adviser Yuval Noah Harari, who has laid out a vision of a transhumanist future in his book *Homo Deus*, meaning God-man. That title is very telling. The shadow side of the age of Aquarius will likely be hubristic attempts to use technology to become as gods. To the likes of Harari, there's nothing sacred about the human form or indeed humans themselves. He talked about technology making the vast majority of humans "useless." There's no love in a vision like this. The transhumanists aren't interested in the inherent capabilities of human beings or in the Divinity already within us.
And I think we really do have incredible natural abilities. Anyone who's read Paramhansa Yogananda's *Autobiography of a Yogi* will understand what I'm talking about. In that book, Yogananda describes meetings with many Hindu Saints who had extraordinary abilities, cultivated by dedicated meditation practice. They could be in multiple places at once or read minds and heal the sick, for example. The transhumanist will offer us technological substitutes for these abilities—think of Elon Musk's Neuralink. But anyone with a degree of spiritual sensitivity can see the damage our overreliance on digital technology is doing to our souls. It has its uses, of course, but in so many areas it only seems to make the world shittier. Social networks replace socializing in the real world with an easy-to-access but superficial and unsatisfying substitute, leaving a generation of young people timid and fearful of real-world social interaction. Music streaming services cheapened music, destroying the livelihoods of the artists and making music a throwaway thing. CGI ruined movies—think of the first Star Wars movie, far better than the CGI-filled new episodes. This same toxic industry is now pushing AI companionship, so it's trying to replace your closest relationships. Tech has winnowed away at the social world and made it much harder to actually meet people, and then it steps in with the solution: an AI companion. I could go on.
Over the past 15 years or so, with Neptune in Pisces, social network-powered smartphones created a world of zombies addicted to apps that were literally designed using the same principles as slot machines. And yet the tech oligarchs who did all this are not only not in jail, they're now more powerful than ever, and they will no doubt throw everything they can into retaining their stranglehold on society with new and more immersive and insidious technology.
We're all going to have to choose our path in the next few years, and I hope we choose wisely. Neptune, planet of collective ideals, is about to move into fearless, individualistic Aries, and I hope this signifies us breaking free of the illusory world Silicon Valley has built for us and us heading back out into the beautiful planet we live in once again.
