When your child comes to you every morning as their first priority, how does that make you feel? Before they run into the world, before they ask everyone else for help, before they get distracted by noise, before they start carrying the weight of the day alone, they come to you. They sit near you. They speak to you. They look for your presence. They want to hear your voice before they listen to any other voice. Would that not touch your heart? And in a wholly [music] beautiful way. This is how God welcomes His children. He is not a distant father who is too busy for you. He is not annoyed when you come close. He is not tired of hearing your voice. The Lord is always there, waiting for His sons and daughters to come and speak with Him. Not just one morning. Not just two mornings. Not only when life feels heavy. Not only when there is an emergency. But every morning. Because morning [music] is sacred. Morning is the hour when the soul is still tender. The mind has not yet been filled with all the voices of the day. The heart has not yet carried all the burdens of responsibility. The spirit has not yet been pulled in many directions. And in that early space, God waits for you to bring your soul to Him. So He can strengthen you for the day ahead.
There is a great difference between remembering God >> [music] >> when you have free time and seeking Him as the first priority of your soul. There is a difference between fitting God into the leftover spaces of your day and saying, "Father, before anything else touches me, I want Your presence to touch me first." There is a difference between casual religion >> [music] >> and a heart that is truly hungry for God. Surface-level seeking will never lead you into the [music] depths of His presence. A hurried glance toward heaven is not the same as a surrendered heart. A quick religious habit is not the same as a soul that says, "Lord, I need you more than I need control. [music] I need you more than I need answers. I need you more than I need the world's approval. I need you more than [music] anything this day can offer me."
And maybe this is why God brought you here this morning. Not to make you feel guilty, but to call you deeper. Not to shame you for the mornings you rushed past Him, but to invite you back into the secret place. Not to condemn your weakness, but to remind you that strength begins [music] in His presence.
The Lord says in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." That verse is not cold. It is not harsh. It is an invitation. God is saying, "If you truly come after me, you will not be disappointed. If you seek me with your whole heart, you will find me." But notice [music] this, He speaks about the whole heart. Not the distracted heart. Not the divided heart. Not the heart that wants God only as a last option. He says, "When you seek me with all your heart."
What does it mean [music] to seek God with all your heart in the morning? It means you come honestly. You do not come pretending. You do not come [music] with polished words and hidden burdens. You bring your tiredness. You bring your gratitude. You bring your fear. You bring your confusion. You bring your hunger. You bring the parts of you that still need healing. You come as you are, but you come with sincerity. And God honors sincere seeking. He is not looking for perfect words. He is looking for a real heart. He is not asking you to impress him. He is asking you to turn toward him. He is not far from the one who whispers, "Lord, I need you." He is near to the one who says, "Father, before I begin this day, I want to be with you."
David understood this kind of hunger. In Psalm 63:1, he says, "You, God, are my God. Earnestly I seek you. I thirst for you. My whole being longs for you in a dry and parched land where there is no water." That is not casual language. That is thirst. That is longing. That is the cry of a soul that knows it cannot live on noise, success, entertainment, food, work, or human approval alone. David was saying, "God, my soul needs you like a thirsty body needs water."
My friend, your soul has thirsts that nothing in this world can satisfy. You can have a full schedule and still feel spiritually empty. You can have people around you and still feel inwardly alone. You can achieve goals and still feel restless. You can scroll, consume, chase, plan, and work and still feel like something inside you is dry. Because the soul was made for God. When you seek God early, you are not doing a religious performance. You are giving your soul what it was created to need. You are saying, "Lord, before I feed my mind with messages, news, tasks, worries, and opinions, I want to drink your presence before I answer the world. I want to hear from my father before I carry responsibility. I want to be [music] carried by your grace."
This is why Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Seek first. Not seek when everything else is done. Not seek when the day has already [music] you. Not seek only when the problem becomes too heavy. Seek first. Make God the first priority, the first voice, the first presence, the first place your heart turns. When God is first, the rest of the day begins to find its proper order. That does not mean every problem disappears. It means you stop entering the day empty. You stop walking into pressure without covering. You stop [music] reacting to life from spiritual dryness. When you begin with God, your heart becomes lighter, your mind becomes clearer, your work becomes less chaotic, and your spirit becomes less scattered. His presence covers the day like morning light. It does not always shout. Sometimes it simply brightens what was dark. It softens what was tense. It steadies what was anxious. It reminds [music] you that you are not alone in the meeting, not alone in the kitchen, not alone in the car, not alone in the decision, not alone in [music] the waiting, not alone in the battle.
But seeking God early is not only about receiving peace for yourself. When you truly draw near to the heart of God, he begins to place his burdens in your heart, too. You start caring about souls. You start praying for people who are lost, hurting, confused, or far from him. You begin to carry a holy concern for your family, your community, your nation, and the people who may never tell you how broken they feel inside. [music] A person who is truly near God cannot remain selfish forever. His presence expands the heart. His love teaches you to intercede. His spirit makes you aware that your morning prayer is not only for your comfort, but also for his kingdom.
And we seek God not only to receive blessings, but to be kept. To be kept from drifting. To be kept from becoming cold. To be kept from living only for earthly things. To be kept from losing spiritual sensitivity. To be kept from becoming so busy with life that we forget the one who gives life. That is why this morning matters. This is not just a habit. This is a meeting with your father. This is the soul returning to its source. [music] This is the child coming home before stepping into the world.
So, take a breath. Before your phone becomes the first voice, let God be first. Before work becomes the first pressure, let his presence be first. Before the noise of the world enters your mind, let the word of God enter your heart. Come with your whole heart. Come with thirst. Come with honesty. Come with the simple prayer. Lord, I am here. I seek you first. Strengthen me for this [music] day.
And now, with hearts turned toward the Father, let us seek him together in prayer.
Dear heavenly Father, this morning feels like a beautiful morning. Not because everything around me is perfect, but because I get to come to you. I get to seek you. I get to begin this day in your [music] presence through this moment of prayer with Grace Prayer. And Lord, outside of you, where can I truly find peace? Where can my soul rest without pretending? Where can my heart be held without fear? Where can my mind become quiet in [music] a world that never stops speaking? Father, I have looked for peace in many places. Sometimes I have looked for it in answers, in people, in plans, in comfort, in achievement, in control, in the hope [music] that if everything around me could finally settle down, then maybe I would feel settled inside. But again and again, I return to this truth. Peace is not found first in perfect circumstances. Peace is found in your presence. So, this morning, before the world becomes loud, before my responsibilities call my name, before my phone, my schedule, my emotions, and my worries try to take first place, I come to you. I seek you early. I seek you honestly. I seek you not as a religious duty, but as a child coming close to the Father.
Lord, teach me to seek you from the early hours of the morning with my whole heart. Not with a divided [music] heart. Not with a distracted heart. Not with a heart that says your name while already running toward everything else. Gather me back to this moment. Gather my thoughts. Gather my emotions. Gather the scattered pieces of my soul and bring them under the quiet covering of your love.
There is a promise in scripture that studies [music] me when I feel far away. In Jeremiah 29:13, you tell your people that they will seek you and find you when they seek you with all their heart. Father, let that become real in me today. Let me not seek you halfway. Let me not offer you only the leftover corners of my attention. Let me not come near with my mouth while my spirit remains distant. I want to seek you with sincerity. I want to come close with hunger. I want my whole heart to turn toward you.
Lord, break every shallow place in my spiritual life. Break the habit of rushing through prayer just to say I prayed. Break the pattern of reading scripture with my eyes while my heart stays untouched. Break the comfort of spiritual routine without real affection. Break the coldness that slowly grows when I become too busy to sit with you. I do not want a thin prayer life. I do not want a surface-level faith. I do not want to know Christian language, but lose the warmth of walking with Christ. I do not want to sing about your presence and yet rarely make room for you. I do not want my soul to live on crumbs when you have invited me to the table. Father, take me deeper. Take me past appearance. Take me past habit. Take me past hurried words. Teach me to stay. Teach me to wait. Teach me to listen. Teach me to be still without feeling like I am wasting time because time with you is never wasted. Time in your presence is where my soul is restored, >> [music] >> my mind is renewed, and my heart remembers what matters.
Let you truly become the first priority of my life each day. Not only in what I say, but in how I begin. Not only in what I believe, but in what I choose. Let my morning show that you are first. Let my attention show that you are first. Let my decisions show that you are first. Let my reactions show that you are first. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Father, that word first reaches into my heart this morning. First before fear. First before work. First before messages. First before pressure. First before the noise of the world. First before I try to fix everything myself. First before I ask people what they think. First before my mind starts running ahead into worry. Lord, put my life back into holy order. When you are first, I do not have to be ruled by urgency. When you are first, I do not have to be controlled by panic. When you are first, my soul remembers that I am not the source of my own life. You are. You are my beginning. You are my covering. You are my wisdom. You are my strength. You are the one I need before I need anything else.
Give my soul a deeper thirst for your presence. Let me not be satisfied with spiritual dryness. Let me not become comfortable with distance. Let me not live on yesterday's encounter when you are inviting me to seek you today. Make me hungry again. Make me tender again. Make me aware of you again. David once prayed from a dry and thirsty place in Psalm 63:1 saying, "You, God, are my God. Earnestly I seek you. I thirst for you. My whole being longs for you in a dry [music] and parched land where there is no water." Father, I understand that cry. There are days when my soul feels dry even when my schedule is full. There are days when I am surrounded by activity, but still feel empty inside. There are days when I have food, conversation, responsibilities, plans, and noise. But my spirit still whispers, "I need God." So, Lord, let that thirst lead me to you, not away from you. Let it not be numbed by distraction. Let it not be buried under busyness. Let it not be satisfied by things that cannot truly satisfy. Entertainment can distract me, but it cannot restore my soul. Success can excite me, but it cannot become my savior. Human approval can encourage me, but it cannot replace your love. Only you can fill the deepest place in me.
This morning, >> [music] >> I seek you not only to receive something, but to be with you. I come not only with requests, but with gratitude. Thank you, Father, for breath. Thank you for mercy. Thank you for protection through the night. Thank you for another day to know you, love you, serve you, and walk with you. Thank you for the quiet ways you have [music] carried me. Thank you for the prayers you answered openly and the dangers you protected me from silently.
Teach me to talk with you intimately, not with performance, not with religious distance, not as though you are a stranger I must impress. You are my father. You know my voice. You know my thoughts before I speak. You know the truth behind my smile. You know where I am strong, and you know where I am still fragile. So, help me come honestly. Let prayer become conversation again. Let me tell you what is really in my heart. Let me thank you for small things. Let me ask you questions. Let me sit quietly when I have no words. Let me listen for the gentle correction of the Holy Spirit. Let me enjoy your nearness. Not only seek your hand.
Father, let your word become the foundation of my thoughts. I do not want my mind built on fear, assumptions, social media, old wounds, cultural noise, or the opinions of people. I want scripture to shape the way I think. I want your truth to become the ground beneath my feet. I want your promises to correct my fear. I want your commands to guide my choices. I want your wisdom to train my reactions. Scripture describes your word as a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. In Psalm 119:105, Lord, let that lamp shine over my thoughts today. When I am confused, bring me [music] back to truth. When I am anxious, bring me back to promise. When I am tempted, bring me back to holiness. When I am discouraged, bring me back to hope. When I am distracted, [music] bring me back to what matters. Let the Bible not remain closed while my mind is open to everything else. Let me not be more familiar with the voices of the world than with the voice of my shepherd. Let me not feed my anxiety [music] all day, and then wonder why my peace is weak. Give me a serious commitment to scripture. Not legalism, but devotion. Not pressure, but hunger. Not a checklist, but relationship. Father, help me stay in your word long enough for it to stay in me. Help me read slowly. Help me meditate. Help me ask, "Lord, what are you showing me?" Help me not rush past conviction. Help me not ignore comfort. Help me not only admire truth, but obey it. Let your word settle into my thoughts until it begins to change [music] the way I see everything.
Let the light of your presence cover my whole day. Let it cover my morning. Let it cover my work. Let it cover my conversations. Let it cover my decisions. Let it cover the places I will go and the people I will meet. Let your presence be like sunrise over the dark corners of my heart. Let it push back fear. Let it soften tension. Let it bring clarity where my thoughts [music] have been cloudy. God, you are light. You are refuge. You are peace. You are the father who walks with his children. You are not only with me in this prayer. You are with me when I leave this quiet space. You are with me in the car, in the kitchen, in the workplace, in the meeting, in the waiting, in the phone call, in the unexpected interruption, in the decision I did not plan for. So, let your presence go before me. Let it rest upon me. Let it follow me. Let it surround me like a shield. Let me be aware of you in small [music] moments. When I feel rushed, remind me that you are near. When I feel pressured, remind me that I am not carrying this day alone. When I feel distracted, draw my heart back to you.
Father, give me peace in my work, my responsibilities, and every encounter today. Let me work with diligence, [music] but not anxiety. Let me serve with excellence, but not fear. Let me carry responsibility, but not carry it as though I am God. I am not the source. I am not the savior. I am not the one holding the whole world together. You are. When I face tasks today, give me focus. When I meet people, give me grace. When I feel tension, give me self-control. When someone speaks harshly, help me answer with wisdom. When plans change, help me remain steady. When something takes longer than expected, keep irritation from [music] ruling me. Let peace be visible in the way I move through this day. Jesus said in John 14:27 that [music] he gives peace, not as the world gives. Lord Jesus, I receive that peace today. Not shallow peace. Not temporary peace that disappears when circumstances shift. I ask for the peace that comes from [music] knowing you are present. You are faithful, and you are in control. Keep me aware that you are always beside me [music] and always covering me. I do not want to forget you once the day becomes [music] busy. I do not want to leave this prayer and live as if I am alone. Remind me throughout the day, God is here. God is near. God is covering me. God is leading me. You are my hiding place. You are my shepherd. You are my protector. You are the one who watches my coming and my [music] going.
Cover my home. Cover my family. Cover my health. Cover my mind. Cover my work. Cover my steps. Cover my conversations. Cover the quiet places of my heart that still need healing. Let no fear rule me today. Let no darkness overtake me. Let no confusion master me. Let no attack of the enemy prosper against me. Keep me under the shadow of your wings. Keep me close enough to hear your voice. Keep me sensitive enough to follow your leading.
Father, place in me a burden to pray for the souls of others. Let my morning seeking not become only about my peace, my blessing, my breakthrough, and my comfort. When I draw near to your heart, let me begin to care about what you care about. Let me remember the lost. Let me remember the hurting. Let me remember the lonely. Let me remember those who are smiling outwardly, but breaking inwardly. Let me remember those who have drifted far from you. Give me a heart that intercedes. Bring names to my mind. Put people on my heart. Teach me to pray for my family, my friends, [music] my community, my nation, and even those who have wounded me. Let my closeness with you overflow into compassion for others. The heart of Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the crowds. Father, give me that kind of heart. Not a cold religious heart. Not a selfish heart. Not a heart that only wants personal blessing. Give me a kingdom heart. A heart that prays, "Lord, save souls. Heal hearts. Open eyes. Bring people home. Use me today as light. Use my words to encourage someone. Use my kindness to remind someone that they are not forgotten. Use my prayers to cover someone who does not even know they need prayer. >> [music] >> Let my life become a quiet witness of your love.
And Lord, let seeking you every morning keep my heart from growing cold or drifting away. I know drifting can happen slowly. A hurried morning. A neglected prayer. A closed Bible. A busy week. A small compromise, [music] a heart that says, "I will seek God later." Again and again, until later becomes distance. Do not let me drift. Do not let me become numb. Do not let my love grow cold. Do not let me live close to [music] Christian words, but far from Christ himself. Wake me when I am wandering. Correct me when I am compromising. Draw me when I am distracted. Restore me when I am dry. Make morning seeking a holy anchor in my life. Let it keep me from spiritual coldness. Let it protect me from the noise of the world. Let it strengthen [music] me against temptation. Let it fill me with peace before pressure arrives. Let it remind me daily that I belong to you.
Today I declare that I will seek the Lord early. I will seek him with my whole heart. I will not live on the surface when God is inviting me deeper. I will not give the first and best of my attention to fear, noise, or distraction. I will give my first affection to the Father who loves me. My soul thirsts for God. My heart longs for his presence. My mind will be shaped by his word. My day [music] will be covered by his light. My steps will be guided by his peace. My life will stay close to his heart.
Thank you, Father, for meeting me this morning. Thank you for welcoming me when I come. Thank you for hearing my voice. Thank you for drawing me closer. Thank you because when I seek you, I do not seek in vain. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
We have sought the Lord together this morning. You have walked with me in prayer and in this Grace Prayer family, we lift one another up before [music] God.
