Lord, as Jesus told us to pray, Your kingdom come. Your will be done, Father, as it is in heaven. And Lord, we ask now that You would release heaven, continue to release it even now as the word of God is preached. Lord, as Your people are receiving, Lord, let the atmosphere of the King permeate. Let the atmosphere of the King radiate. Lord, You are the rock and the fortress, and we hide ourselves. We're reminded of Your word, Jesus, in John that said, "If you abide in My words, and My words abide in you, you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Lord, we're praying for that abiding atmosphere, that abiding, Lord, that place of what it means to stay under. That's what it means to stay in one place. To stay under the canopy, the canopy of Your word, the canopy of Your Spirit, the canopy of grace, the canopy of Your blood, the canopy of Your absolute overarching power and truth. Lord, we align our hearts with You this morning. You are Deliverer. You are Healer. You are righteous and true. And we ask now that You would release Your kingdom in this atmosphere, breaking every lie, tearing us under every form of evil that's trying to find a place illegally or, Lord, through legal means. Lord, we ask for repentance to come. Lord, in Your word, You said those who confess their sin, 1 John 1:9, Lord, if we confess our sin, You are faithful and You are just, meaning You're righteous to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us from all things that are unlawful, trespass, and unrighteous. Lord, we thank You that You're still that same God. You've never changed. The word of the Lord is forever, and our God changeth not. You're the same yesterday, today, and forever. We love You, Jesus, and we bless You in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. You can be seated this morning. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen. Yeah. We want to thank You, Lord, that You would begin to pour that out this morning. Lord, there would be a word, the word of the Lord, that would come in verses and understanding, God. There'd be a cleansing in the atmosphere that would begin to take place through the blood of Jesus Christ, through the water of Your word, and through the oil of the Holy Spirit. Lord, those three agree, as it says in First John, there's three that bear witness on the earth: the blood, the water, and the oil. And we thank You so much this morning, Lord, for You are releasing that in Jesus' holy name. And everybody said, Amen. I'm going to keep praying a little bit. Hallelujah. Just a reminder, maybe put your phones on silent if you can. Want to remind you, uh, today is a great day in the house of the Lord. We're starting our first session here, and then we will, uh, move into, I think we take a little break at, is that 11 o'clock is our, you guys are going to help me out, or 11:30, or anyways, I'll just preach until we're, when is it? 11, 11ish, and then we're going to hit another section. So, what I want to do, uh, you guys got to kind of keep me flowing here because I was, we did a conference in, in, uh, northern Washington here about five months ago, and I had brought, um, six sets of notes, and I didn't get out of the first set, and I taught for eight hours straight. And so, I got to, I got to be careful here what I do and how I go. And so, uh, just trying to, the team asked me this morning, where are we, what are we doing this morning? And I'm like, Lord, You got to help me here. Uh, we've got so much stuff. What I thought I would do this morning is take you back just a little bit, uh, not too much review from last night, but kind of build on last night. And then this next session, uh, the following session, we're going to tackle the subject of rejection. But I want to, I want to just dive down a little bit deeper this morning as we are here, and I want to talk about the human will a little bit. Um, this is the part in Christianity that you and I are responsible for. Um, it's our human will. It's there, there are some things I'm going to just wipe my glasses off here. I must have cried and snotted all over them there while I was praying, worshiping the Lord. Wasn't the presence of the Lord wonderful? You know, that's the, that is the, the wonderful thing about conferences. And the horrible thing is it happens to me every time you do a conference, people come hungry, the, the, the, the worship team goes to the next level, and the atmosphere of the presence of the Lord comes in, and you just want to stay and just worship and be there, and then you have all these other things that you came for that you paid to hear, and I just want to be in the presence of the Lord. So anyway, it's a wonderful thing, but it's also just a, um, what in the world? All right. So, human will. Let's talk about that for a bit. Human will. You know, oftentimes when we come to a deliverance conference, we, we think about all the things that maybe, you know, you heard me talk about it last night, familiar spirits, generational spirits, soul ties, torments, temptations, you know, uh, all of this stuff. But here's the deal. The, the, the, the decoder ring, so to speak, in the kingdom is a lot to do with your will. Your will. I want to, I'm just, if you're taking notes, the human will, this is a great phrase: the human will is the gatekeeper of the soul. The Well, thank you. Look at you. Okay. Thank you. You guys are blessing me here. All right, I can get excited about that. Um, the human will is the gatekeeper of the soul, which means what? Now, when we're talking about, let's just, let's just go over a couple of spiritual things here. We talked about last night that your soul usually resides right here, right? Where's your will reside? Your neck. Now, it's connected to your heart and to your head, but it's actually the, the gateway right here, the neck. Think about the scriptures that talk about it. What did Stephen preach on in that two, two full, almost two and a half Bible pages worth of a message that he brought to the people in Acts chapter 7? And what did he end up saying after he told them about all the journey of how God had been faithful and rehearsed their, their Hebrew heritage and the things that God had did and brought them out of the land of slavery? And then when he ended up, he says, "And you stiff-necked, hard of heart." What was the issue? It was their will that refused to partner with the word of God. It's their will. God can send power. God can send authority. God can send miraculous movements of the Spirit of God. He can testify. In fact, as the scripture said, in fact, as Stephen said it, you ought to read it. It's really one of the first places. Uh, if you haven't read Acts chapter 7 in a long time, I suggest you do so. It's one of the first places that the word "church" is mentioned in the in the New Testament. He actually called the old, he actually called the children of Israel the church in the wilderness. He equates what they did there with what we're doing now. Before before the Apostle Paul ever said in 1 Corinthians chapter 10, he said, "These things were written down." Come on. That's a, that's another good place you probably ought to go is 1 Corinthians chapter 10, because it says, "Your fathers all were delivered from the blood, from the Passover lamb. They all walked through the waters of the Red Sea. They all ate the same spiritual food." None of this is on the notes. Sorry. I'm just, I'm just going from memory here. So, you're all right. I saw you looking back there going, "Where in the world is this guy at?" Uh, this is all just, this is this is appetizer before we get into the main course here. Okay, y'all ate the same spiritual food. Y'all drank the same spiritual drink. Yet with most of them, God was not well pleased. And then he goes through all the things that they did that they were, and I find it interesting. I won't be talking on this, but it says, "And they were destroyed by the destroyer." Two different Greek words. Why? Because they grumbled and they complained and they did what? They hardened their will against the evidence of who God was. And then it says, "And these things," and you should read it again, "and these things were written down as examples for us on whom the end of the ages fall." Meaning that he actually recorded them, journeyed them so that you and I in the New Testament would have an understanding that the same things of their nature that they had a display of God that was supernatural time and time again. Fact is, it's rehearsed in history. Moses would say, "For they resisted me." Read what Hebrews chapter 3 and 4 says, "They resisted me 10 times." 10 representing what? Law. It means that the law of resistance was greater than the law of God. Let me say that again. Some of you aren't getting this. The law of resistance, meaning what? Your will can keep you from receiving the laws and the principles of God. And for them, they didn't do what? They didn't mingle it with faith. They didn't mingle it with faith. Are you okay if I just preach under the anointing here a little bit? Is that all right? All right. I I want you to go ahead and turn. I wouldn't plan on doing this, but I want you to turn to Hebrews chapter. Fact is, I should just stop planning anything anymore. I'm thinking, um, Hebrews. You need to be quiet in Jesus' name. All right. Ah, now notice what it says in Hebrews chapter 3. I want you to turn to verse 6 and following. Hebrews 3, verse 6. "But Christ is faithful over God's house as a son, and we are His house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. Therefore, the Holy Spirit says, 'Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion in the day of testing in the wilderness where your fathers put Me to the test, and saw My works 40 years.'" Notice he equates the day with their generation. We want to immediately move it to, well, there's just a day. No, no, no, no. When God speaks about a day, because He sits in time and He's eternal, He speaks about your day. Your day is your life. Your day is the year spans that He's given you. It means that all Israel, remember, there was 39, 40 years in the wilderness that they shouldn't have been. That was responsible. They were responsible for those 40 years. And even in the midst of it, they still did not believe God because the last part of their 40-year journey, what started off in the at the waters of, or excuse me, in the place called Rephidim, and this is, I'm quoting, uh, Exodus 17, in Rephidim, that there was a place where there was not water. It was the first time that Moses was told to strike the rock, and he did. And water flowed from the rock. This is after Passover. This was after the waters of the Red Sea. This is after the waters of Marah that were bitter that the cross went in and healed. This was now their first journey out. Like God had already revealed Himself in three, four major times prior to Exodus 17 at the at the place of the striking of the rock, and what he would now name it was called Rephidim, which was means a place to spread out and a place to allow yourself to have rest in who He is. They didn't do that. Instead, they were attacked by the Amalekites. Why? Because they grumbled and complained and started to get warfare on the back end of things that started to take the weak and the weary. Why? Because they'd opened a door. Moses strikes the rock. They got water. God in His mercy gave them water. Anyway, from that point, he calls it, uh, Meribah, and, uh, look it up. Exodus 17. He calls, he names it Meribah, and Meribah, because they would journey now through the 30, after they failed to enter the promised land, they would journey all of those years, and about year 38 after being in the wilderness 30 years, they would start their journey again with the second generation, and the same, the same place, it's Massah and Massah and Meribah, okay? The same place where they grumbled and complained in one generation, at the end of the the last generation dying off, guess what they did? They complained in the very same place in the waters of Meribah. That's why the Bible mentions it twice. Why? They journeyed full cycle in a generation. Meaning what? The people with their will never got out of them their own will and transferred it to actually submitting their will to who God was. So much so that Moses finally, now I'm not blaming this on Moses, but you need to understand Moses picked up this charge pretty, pretty significantly. He blamed them for his issue. "You caused me." Why? Moses in the beginning of his ministry started interceding for them. By the time, by the time the 38 years were done, and when God told him to speak to the rock, he struck it twice. And he struck it twice out of what? Out of anger and frustration that the people would not actually obey the Lord. Now, that was Moses's issue. Does nobody, there's a great lesson. Nobody makes you do anything. That's right. And Moses, in his exasperation, lost his promise because he didn't revere God as holy and honorable in the midst of what God told the leader to do. There's a whole message in that, but I'm, I'm pointing to the fact here, going, the human will, this, when, when we read this here, the human will resisted God for 40 years here among God's own people. Why do we think that we could be any different? Are we not of the same nature? Listen, they had physical manna fall on the ground six days a week. You thought the Beatles had that song, "Six Days a Week"? No, it was God that originally did the six days a week and the feeding program for the children. Six days a week, He fed them. 39. The only time the manna stopped was when they crossed over and got in the promised land and established themselves. That's it. The Bible says in, in, in 1 Corinthians 10, and you're going to read that as well. He says, "What? He said, 'And the rock followed them.'" Do you understand what that's saying? The rock followed them in the journey. That means from the first time that Moses struck the rock in Exodus 17, that that rock miraculously appeared to them in every part of those 38 years, revealing and giving water for 38 years. As the heavens opened and gave manna, so the rock followed them. That rock was Christ, and that rock released water to them for 38 years. Yet the scripture says in Hebrews 3 that what? That they tested them in their day and they wouldn't hear His voice. Why? Because it says their heart, they hardened their heart. What was Stephen's indictment? "You stiff-necked and hard of heart, you always resist the Holy Spirit." You see, the key to getting deliverance, in my opinion, and why we're talking to church people here, we're not talking to demon-possessed, unsaved people. There's not really a big conference going on for that. We're, we're talking, we're talking to Christian people who want freedom and are looking and and and I say this carefully, and are looking for some shortcuts to live in freedom so that they can just move on with their life without pain or suffering. When the reality is, we should be here at this conference because we recognize that the thing that's probably got us bound is the fact that our will and the hardness of our heart has not received what's already been given to us. Now, this is the time when I say it at home and I smile. I says, "I love everybody." I know sometimes I, I'm, I'm throwing some stuff there, some fastballs, but I need you to understand, we got to deal with the will. We have to deal with the will because the will is the gatekeeper of the soul. And if you don't submit your will to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, if you don't submit your will to what it means to actually have not only faith, but it means a surrender. Probably the biggest word in the gospel that is not in the gospel, but the summation of the gospel, is the word allegiance. If there's not allegiance in your heart to God and to Christ and to His word, you are going to have issues in your Christian walk, and you're going to open yourself up to demonic bondage. Why? Because the place where you're going to have freedom is abiding in Christ. He tells us that if you abide in My words, and My words abide in you. Now, that's what we talked about last night, right? You actually have to allow the word of God to reframe your thinking. You have, that's part of repentance. Repentance. The very word repentance in the Greek is what it means to change the way you think before you ever make a turn. And this is what, Oh man, Pastor Tom, this is what just fries my potatoes here. I just, it frustrates me to no end when people just think all they have to do is repent and just turn without changing the way they think. That is not repentance. Repentance means I actually have to change the way I think and the way I process and the way I have viewed an entire topic or philosophy, then I can turn and walk the other way. If I still believe the same way, make the same choices, do the same thing, I haven't repented. I have actually, I know this is going to shock people, I've actually lived a deceptive form of repentance, and I've actually trapped in a lie. What? Yes. Because if you don't change the way you think, you didn't repent. That's right. So you think you turned? Have you? Nobody raised their hand, but if you want to raise your spouses, go ahead. Uh, if you've repented for something and found yourself immediately over and over and over going back to the same thing, and you told yourself you repented and you were clean, that was your deception, and that was the lie that was speaking to you. That is called, hear me say that, that is a religious spirit. That is not a spirit of righteousness. That's good. Religious spirits work in, Oh, here we go. We're going to, Oh my goodness, 'cause I just heard something in my spirit here, and I'm, I'm going to be careful here, but I'm going to say it. Religious spirits work in the realm of religious teaching. Yes. They come to church. Why would we think that a religious spirit wouldn't come to church? Why would we think that it would love the idea of going to somebody who would just, you know, as though that did anything? So you know Latin. Great. The Virgin of Guadalupe. She isn't a nice virgin. That's right. She's a demon. That's right. Having someone put the sign of the cross over you and tell you to go and sin no more is not repentance. It's not biblical repentance. That's a religious form, work, and it is a lie. That's right. Because you have to stand before the mediator who is Christ Jesus. And He knows the thoughts, the intents of your heart. And if you don't bring your thinking to Him to begin to think like He thinks, you actually have not aligned yourself with Him. That's good. That's great. Now listen, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm for people who know Jesus, and I'm for everybody else that doesn't know Jesus to get to know Him. Amen. What I'm not for is I don't believe that every religion is the same. I'm not a co-exist-er. Speaking truth. Come on. Amen. That doesn't mean that I'm to fight in the flesh, but it means that there's only one way. There's only one truth, and there's only one life. And if I believe that, and you believe that, then you cannot buy some of this gobbledegook that comes out of religion because it's a, it's a serpent lie. So the very words mentioned, mention in repentance is the literally the removal of, and this is what I find in deliverance, and I'm sure Pastor Bev and the team has found this too. Your biggest work in deliverance is not where God comes and does what He does. It is the jackhammering out. Yes. Of the sidewalk that led you there. That's really what it is. I'm getting calls from a pastor in India, but I can't take that. So, no. No, you have to answer the phone. Hello. Yeah, right. I've been there enough times. Uh, listen, when you, when you, we, we, we sponsor a lot of work in India. We love India, and I, I go there a lot, and, um, uh, I remember the, and here I am on a story. I remember the first time, uh, have you ever been to India? No. Okay, you got to go. Uh, everybody needs to smell what hell and curry fused together. Smell. Anyway. No, I just, uh, but, but the reality, I remember, uh, dealing with this guy. They said, "Hey, pastor, we're going to take you to this guy. He's a, he's a tailor, and he can make you a, make you a set of suit pants and a suit jacket in, in one day." Really? I said, "Okay." So, he comes in my hotel room. He measures me and does all the stuff, and, and, uh, and he goes, "Where do you want your pockets? And do you want the button?" And I go, "Yes." And I so then I asked him, I said, "Do, now you're sure you can make this in 24 hours?" "No, no, no, you don't understand." He goes, "Let me say, try it again. Can you make a suit in 24 hours?" I don't know what to do. I'm like, is that a yes? Is that a no? Because I said, "Now listen, I got to get on a flight. I got to go. I'm going to give you this money, but if the suit isn't here, as a good little Mennonite boy, that's a bad deal. Can you make the suit?" "Yes." "Okay. Yes. Is this way? Let's try this together. Let me help you with some American ease. Yes." He goes, "Yes." Anyway. Anyway, so, point being, I'll get back on the track here. The point, my staff is dying over here going, "Oh, dear God, let this not be live-streamed." All right. Um, the, the, the reality is, your will has to bring your heart and your mind under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not just in a one-time action of, "Lord, forgive me. I'm sorry I sinned against You." Yes, that's true. That is, that's the beginning of repentance. But it's not the follow-through of repentance. Follow-through of repentance means what? I'm going to now recognize, Lord, every place that I resisted Your Spirit as I started thinking, as I started dwelling, as I started moving toward the things that brought me now to the wrong conclusion and to the error. That's real repentance. It's called, I mean, if I'm, if I'm, Pastor Trent here has his Bible open to Titus. If I am looking at the Bible like this, and all I see of the Bible is the spine. Repentance means I change. I move now, and I see the fullness of the Bible. It isn't, "Well, I hope I'll get it someday, and Lord, just forgive me," and then I stay looking at that truth with my own interpretation. I actually have to get and change position in my thinking, and now I have to walk with a new understanding. That's repentance. And if we don't get that, then what you're doing in deliverance is you're actually hardening your heart, and you're creating a religion in deliverance. You can make a religion out of everything that's in the scripture. You okay? So the soul of man, we talked about the soul. If we talk about soul, and then we talked about the will, man is comprised of three parts: mind, will, and emotion. Okay, that's the soul. The mind, will, and emotion. Each has its own function and responsibility. The will's responsibility is to make choices and act on decisions. The human will is an incredible force. The human will can indeed resist the Holy Spirit. And it can resist God's attempts to bring you clarity, to bring you instruction, to enhance your faith, and to flow in the Spirit. You can resist all of that by your will. God has endowed mankind with certain inherent traits, and He made man a free moral agent with power to make choices. In fact, there's so much so that you know these scriptures. Uh, I think you're tracking with me now. We're in Deuteronomy verse 30. I think I'm on page 8 of the original. Perfect. Thank you. Incredible. Uh, "You can see I have set before you today life and good, death and evil." Why would God do that? God does that because He understands He's made you with a human will and has given you the power of choice. Okay. God has implanted in the heart of man a measure of faith that enables him to accept the gift of salvation, and has given man every level of virtue that man can choose to walk in that virtue or to violate that virtue. That's why Paul says in Romans 12:2, he says, "For the grace given to me, I say to everyone among you, to not think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment according to the measure of faith that God has assigned." So God has given every person a measure of faith to partner with your will. And that's why deliverance is, is, is contingent, in my opinion, many times, and I think every team that's done deliverance will say, there are the absolute miracles of God that come in that you just, no one can explain, and they're just God moments and God encounters. But the majority of deliverance, I would say 80 to 85%, partners has to partner with the will and your thinking in order to partner with the power of God and the truth of God's word to actually get free. And if you're just waiting, same, the same would be, and if I could just say this and cross over just a little bit, the same would be with healing. Healing has that same anomaly that God does miraculous healings, and He does it outside of even when there's no faith. He's just a great, awesome, good God. That's what He does. But for the most part, healings work with a partnering of the scripture and your faith, and then taking it and walking it out. Fact is, that's one of the words we're going to look at, I think, in just a little bit, is called the word *eomi*. *Eomi* in the Greek is, is, is a word that means, uh, it means healing, but it means progressive healing. It's the word that's used with the lepers. And Jesus met the 10 lepers, and the one leper came back, and he said, "Was there not 10 lepers?" Yes, there were. When He said, "Go show yourself to the priest." They went and showed themselves to the priest. And then one came back recognizing that as they went, they were healed. They weren't healed the moment they were standing there in front of Jesus. He sent the word. It was in their partnership and obedience that they actually had to go show themselves to the high priest. And in the process of them still having to say, "Now hear me, unclean, unclean." This will preach, because Jesus didn't tell them to say that they weren't unclean. They were still having to keep the laws of society that said, as you were a leper in your unpronounced clean state, if you didn't have a clean status, you had to stay outside of the city limits. You had to stay outside of the protection, and you had to, anybody you encounter, you had to put your hand over your mouth and declare that you were unclean. But it was in the midst of the going that one of them recognized that they were healed, and immediately turned back. Didn't go to the priest. He actually, by faith, went back to the highest priest. And Jesus said that, and that's that word. They were healed as they went. Probably ought to write that down. They were healed as they went. Same word that is used in Acts 10:38. "And He healed all who were oppressed by the devil." Guess what word that is? *Eomi*. Same word. Might turn me down just a little bit. Thank you, sir. You can turn me up when I get to pray at the end. Just *eomi*. Jesus, who God anointed, who went around doing good, healing *eomi* all who were oppressed of the devil. Meaning what? Many times, not only physical healing, but your physical deliverances, your deliverances of a soul, deliverance of a mind. *Eomi*. What does that mean? You're healed as you go. You're delivered of oppression as you go. You're delivered of vexation as you go. Why? Because your will partnered with His word. And you gave ground to the word of God that has power in His word and authority in His word. And you aligned your heart with allegiance. Yes. And you started breaking shackles that you had partnered with lies before. Why? Because He was anointed and went around doing good, healing *eomi* all who were oppressed. Notice it doesn't say that they were all miraculously healed. There are many accounts in the scriptures where it was miraculous, instantaneous. But just as in the gift of healing, that has, it's the one thing that is just, it's always a mind-blower to me that in, in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, in the gifts of the Spirit, the Bible says there's the gift of discernment, there's the gift of tongues, interpretation of tongues, you know, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, you know, when he gets to the gifts of healing, notice what he does. He doesn't say the gift of healing. It's Pentecostal, plural gifts. It's the gifts of healing. Why? Because there's more than one. That's right. Meaning that God chooses to heal in a variety of manners, not just in one way of miraculous healing. Although everything that He does in the supernatural is miraculous, deliverance is miraculous. It's a miracle sign and wonder. You can read that in the scriptures when they, when Jesus brought deliverance, they would say, "This is none other than the hand of God." Jesus actually accredited. He said, "If I cast a demon out of you by the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you." It is a miracle sign from heaven of conquering a power that had enslaved the world, and a new King brought His authority, His grace, His love, His truth, and liberated you. That is a miracle. The same way. So when we're studying deliverance, we also have to see some of it that works with healing and recognize that the reason God gave every person a measure of faith is so that you could partner with His word. And in partnering with His word means one of the main things that you're asking the Holy Spirit to do is to help you repent. Yes. Because repentance is not just a one-time thing that is being taught out in Christianity. Yeah. There are preachers on the air, if you watch Christian TV, there are preachers on the air that say, "Once you're a Christian, you don't sin anymore." Are you kidding me? Yeah, you talk to your wife. That's right. Yeah, let's not. But the reality is, think about that. Repentance, it's not unto salvation. Yes, you can. You can repent once unto salvation, but there is a lifestyle. Yes, that's right. Of repentance. That's not putting my salvation on the line. It's about now living in the will of God, of allowing my mind to be sanctified so I can walk in the fullness of truth. If I bought the religious lie, 'cause listen, you can have a religious lie on one end of the scale that doesn't even let you talk to Jesus by yourself. You can have another religious lie on the other end of the scale that says you don't need to repent after you've been saved, and you just live, and God's always with you, and whatever you think, and whatever you do, and all that you choose, it's all good. Yeah. That's a lie. That's a lie. The reality is, we are given, Jesus washes the disciples' feet. Yes. He didn't need to wash their whole body because it wasn't a salvation issue, but He recognized that they picked up dirt in the culture and in the day. And there has to be the washing of our minds because we, we do what we, we talked about last night. We begin to bend things toward our own soul. We listen to things that we then go, "Well, I don't know if I, I don't necessarily purpose to be deceived," but that's why He tells us all the time, "You must be sober. You must be awake. You must be alert. You must be fully clothed." Why? Because there is always stuff trying to move you. The whole point that fixes that is my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit to repent often. Not because I need salvation, but because I need right alignment. Yes. Now, I, I, I don't want to talk about my wife's driving too much, but I'll never forget, we were in a pastor's conference, and, and, and this wasn't my wife, but we were talking to another pastor's wife, and she just said, "I, I have to confess to you guys, I'm, I feel so foolish. I, my husband bought me an SUV, and and it had four-wheel drive, and so I thought it meant that it didn't matter what I went over." And I looked at the person, I said, "Describe what that means." Well, I just thought it didn't matter what curbs or what embankments were there. I'd just go through a parking lot and just go over them. And I looked at the husband, my eyes got big. I go, he goes, "Totaled our vehicle." Yeah, not good. She would just go over speed bumps, curbs. It was an SUV, and it didn't matter. And knocked the alignments out, knocked everything out. Listen, I'm not saying that's how you drive in your Christianity, but a lot of people run their Christianity like this woman ran her SUV. Every limitation that was to be a boundary and a check limit of conscience and the word of God being put there, you just run over because you just got, you got salvation. It's your SUV. No, no, no, no, no. You allow the Spirit of God. You allow the Spirit of God to come bring sensitivities to the boundaries of His word. And those boundaries are not law.
to you. They are life.
>> And that's what repentance does. Repentance brings you back into that place. Okay, we doing all right? We got that.
>> All right. Romans 2:15 says, "They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts either accuse them or accuse them." God's put it inside of you to work with his spirit. Even unbelievers, he's talking about there's something inside of him that even works with some of the mechanisms even when they're not saved that he's got working in the law of the heart and the mind. So therefore, Romans 6:16, do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one in whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or obedience with leads to righteousness. Romans 7:14. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I'm of the flesh, sold under sin. The human will.
Spiritual disciplines as prayer, reading the word make us strong in the Lord and the power of his might. Then the laws of society strengthen our will by placing restraints on us which keep us from fulfilling passions we would otherwise want to fulfill. Demonic spirits devise schemes and strategies to get past our human will who is the gatekeeper of our soul to gain entrance. So let me say that again. Demonic spirits devise schemes. That's why Paul said in several places as he's writing, "Friends, I don't want you to be ignorant of Satan's schemes and devices or the wiles of his devices."
>> And you know what? You know what that word "schemes" actually is in the Greek? This is the amazing part, Pastor Tom. I when I when I thought about this, I thought about Texas, even though I don't like people moving to Texas from Oregon. People do all the time, but Texas probably has the best description of this. There are roads that follow along major freeway roads right alongside every freeway.
>> A scheme in the Greek is this. It is an adjacent path that works. If this is the middle of the this is the perfect will of God, a scheme comes alongside of it. A scheme comes alongside of it and builds a path of thought that is not aligned and allegant, but it's similar. And that similar path goes along. That's why it's hard to tell the difference when you're not immersed in the word of God. It sounds like God. It can even feel like God, but when you don't have the word to check it like God, then it always leads you to a different place. And that's where deception, false prophecy, a false voice comes in. I can't tell you, and I'm just going to say this. I probably said it last time. I don't know how many people I have prayed for that are God-loving Christians that when we got down to the voice that they thought was the Holy Spirit, it wasn't holy at all.
>> Yes.
>> It was a spirit.
>> Yes.
>> It just wasn't holy.
>> The Can I say this carefully? The highest honor in hell for a religious spirit is to be passed off impersonating the Holy Spirit.
>> Let me say that again. The highest honor that I believe is given out in hell to a religious spirit is if he can masquerade the voice of the Holy Spirit and and present to you that he's the one that's guiding your life and you think it's the Lord.
>> That's why the Bible says even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. Is it no wonder that his messengers also? Why do we why do we look at this thing and go, "Huh?" And you know what the problem is? Here's the problem.
>> Now, we haven't touched the notes really. So, but let's just keep going because here's the problem. Because we don't test
>> the spirit.
>> I'm going to ask you a question. Don't raise your hand. When you believe you hear the word of God in a word for yourself or a word for others, do you just automatically assume and take it? Because if you do, you are in great great danger of being in error.
>> You see, there's a philosophy, and I'm going to be careful where this comes from, but I'm going to say it because I've had to deal with it a lot on the West Coast. You'll have to deal with it here. The reality is there are certain theological uh understandings that believe that because you're saved, everything that you get in a thought process is a God thought.
>> Yeah. Because when because God No, let let me tell you the theology behind it. Because God knows your heart and you love God and therefore when you pray, God only gives good things. So when you get inspiration or you get thoughts, it must be the Holy Spirit.
>> That is foolishness.
>> Now, here's the issue. It can be right a lot of the time. The problem is on the average, it's about 30% wrong.
>> I don't know about you, but if I handed you a glass of Kool-Aid and said, "This is I love grape Kool-Aid." You know, I mean, they it's just one of sugar-free grape Kool-Aid, of course, you know, and I keep it I keep it cold in the refrigerator. If somebody says, "Hey, you want a glass of cold sugar-free grape cooler?" Yes. Hey, it's only got 30% urine in it.
>> Am I still going to drink that?
>> I SHOULD HOPE TO SHOUT NOT.
>> But the problem is when we get to church, we allow a religious spirit to work with us. It works in deception to think that now your word
>> is now because it's you and because you have a relationship with God now you should just totally be fine giving this word because you know God
>> bypassing I don't know how many check valves in the Bible
>> in order to actually process. Now folks this is the same way with deliverance. I'm talking about prophetic word, but now I'm talking about how God speaks to you.
>> Yes.
>> And if God agrees with you on things that are not in his word and contrary to his word, but God agrees with you.
>> You might have a spirit of deception,
>> a spirit of religion,
>> and probably rebellion.
>> YEAH. BECAUSE YOU CAN'T JUST HAVE ONE OF THOSE.
>> That's right.
>> True.
>> Because you've bypassed clear instruction of God's word to receive what you wanted to receive. Bypassing every check valve of accountability. Bypassing testing every spirit. Bypassing the word of God that has other things contrary.
>> I've had people sit in my office tell me even after I know they're doing terrible go, you you you you're now living in sin. You've you've divorced your wife. And why did you do this? Because God told me to divorce her. Really?
>> Okay. Uh, and when did God tell you this? Well, I was just praying one day. I had already met who I'm who I'm really attracted to. Oh, so God spoke to you after you lusted for another woman.
>> Well, that's not how it went down. No, no, no. Tell me. You said you heard God. I I didn't put those words. You heard God after you had already had an affection and a conversation going on with someone else.
>> Not God.
>> Ain't God. Well, it's a little G.
>> It's your It's your God that you serve at the at the altar of idolatry and fornication.
>> Yes.
>> But he ain't mine.
>> Now, I'm just I'm just picking up
>> things that are common in church land.
>> Yeah. This is not This is not unbelievers I'm talking about. This is
>> That's right.
>> quote believers.
>> Yes.
>> And so repentance. Now, I know we're we're I'm kind of hammering this home, but you have to understand in order to break what we're going to talk at next section, next session in about 15 20 minutes from our break is that you're going to have to understand that in order to deal with a spirit of rejection, you have to be willing to get rid of the spirit of religion and deception in order to believe God's word.
>> Because rejection is the opposite of what God's word says about you. It's the exact opposite.
>> There's only one person in this universe, now I'm speaking on rejection. There's only one person in this universe that's rejected.
>> Two people experienced it. One continues in it. Jesus became rejected of the father when he hung on the cross for you and I. Was part of the reason that he cried out, "My God, my God, why have thou forsaken me?" He was rejected by the father because he who knew no sin was made sin for us. The sin for us caused the father to turn his back and breach that relationship because he had to pour out his wrath and allow death to take his son.
>> Yeah.
>> The now Jesus got his life back. Why? Because there was no sin in him.
>> That's right. And he fulfilled the scripture says, "I have the power to lay my life down. I have the power to take my life back."
>> Amen.
>> But there's only now one other entity or individual, we'll just call him an entity that lives in constant rejection. And his name is Satan or his name was Lucifer.
>> He's the only one that is eternally rejected. Yeah.
>> No human is eternally rejected unless they forever resist the spirit of God unto death and the blood of Jesus Christ. Then they become rejected with the rejected one. Let me say that again. Rejecting the blood of Jesus, the grace of God, the sacrifice of God's own son over and over and over. And then when your milk curdles, your shelf life comes to an end, that's where your fate is sealed. Then you will either be a accepted because of you've received the gift of eternal life or b you've rejected the gift and you will now stand before the father in revelation chapter 20 at the white throne judgment with all the other unrighteous dead and you will have to give a reason for why you rejected the only gift of life there was. And your part will be with the one who rejected and has rejected God in fullness and be put into judgment. That's the only reason somebody would say I'm rejected
>> because they I don't want anything to do with God. I don't want anything to do with his son. I don't want anything to do this but and I will stay in that rejection for the rest of my life. That's the only person that could be rejected ultimately. Everything else God overwhelmingly in the scriptures deal with.
>> Yes.
>> Overwhelmingly says you're accepted. You're loved. God gave himself for you. And yet somewhere we choose not to repent and to believe the lies. We don't allow the thinking to actually be jackhammered out by our will and by our diligence of the word replacing what we have thought with what his thoughts are. And that's why we stay under the burdens and under the under the weight of the yolks of slavery and why deliverance is is a constant thing with this subject that we're going to deal with next session on rejection. But the key to it for the most part of us for most of us is a subject I'm dealing with now and called the human will. Your will has to choose. Am I going just like Israel had to choose. Am I going to believe God by his works and his love and his care and all of the signs and wonders that he did? He said with most of them they didn't. Am I going to believe the gospel, the witness of grace, the truth, and all that God has and is and is available. He promises to never leave me or forsake me to not leave me orphan. He will come to me. He He's constantly speaking and affirming. Or am I going to resist that and say, "No, but it's different for me. It's a repentance issue.
Now listen, demonic spirits can devise schemes, plans. Those schemes, those wiles, they run, they look like the path, but they're not the path. And how does he use it? Well, he tries to gain entrance through the soul, through the human will. One of the easiest ways he does it is through what the Bible says in 1 John 2:16, through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Those three things are how the enemy usually finds a a hold. Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. And how he does that are several other things. So if he'll use the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, the pride of life, he'll use people in that process. Meaning he'll use influence. He'll use influence. How many have a social media account? You can raise your hand on that one. I want to see. Yeah. Yeah. Don't don't be ashamed. You got Instagram, you got Spy Book, Facebook. Um, you got Okay. H how many have those? Okay. Now, because 85% of the room responded, what do we call people that make their living on those platforms?
>> Influencers. Proverbs 110, Psalms 1:1. The Bible talked about influencers way before Facebook and Instagram. Come on. Remember Psalms 1. Blessed is the man who does not sit in the seat of counsel of the evil or in remember and you just start rolling down through. What is happening to a generation of Christians in this day? They are being influenced by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. If you do you ever look at your phone when it says to you at the end of the week or maybe that maybe Jenny, my wife just programmed it for me to say that, but it says how long your average hour time on your phone has been. Anybody ever have that? What's your average? Thank you. Four hours, some five, some six. Now, I know there's some legitimate things you're answering emails and work, but have you asked yourself how much time do you have you actually spent that day under the influence of God's word and the Holy Spirit?
What's the other thing he uses? Seduction. Proverbs 2 6 through19. Just turn there real quick. I'm going to read a couple of these off while we're doing this. Proverbs 2. I probably should have had them printed, but I knew if I printed all of them, I'd be tempted to preach all of them. So, so you will be forbid. You will be delivered from the forbidden woman, the adulteress, with her smooth words, who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house sinks down to death, and her paths lead to the departed. None who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life. Seduction. Now listen, when the Bible talks when the Bible talks about the woman, please hear me ladies. This is not a woman of physical proportion. This is a spirit that he calls that has more of a feminine persuasion to it.
>> It's like I I I teach this in our church. You know, it's not like the belly dance woman. Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. You know, am I attractive to you? You better not say yes. All right. Okay. We're not talking about that kind of that kind of seduction. We're talking about a spirit that operates in a seducing that has words.
>> Yes.
>> It's tied to influence.
>> Yes.
>> It's tied to words that sound promising. It's tied to articles that you would look at on Buzzfeed or on uh TMZ or on uh what's some other stuff that you might look at? Uh those kind of things that aren't super racy, but they're on the edge and they're constantly giving you the tidbits of what Hollywood insiders are doing and how their lifestyle AND ALL OF THE THINGS. THERE'S A SEDUCING OF WHAT A LIFE OF IMMORALITY AND PARTNERS AND ALL SORTS OF THINGS WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE. AND YOU CAN BE A CHRISTIAN AND STILL DO THAT
>> if you've if you've read any of the articles that are out there. And I'm I'm probably going to take heat for this, but if you've read some of the articles from Nicki what's her
>> Yeah, that one. Nicki Minaj says that she has a great relationship with Jesus. SHE I JUST LIKE I READ THE ARTICLE. I JUST LIKE CUSSING STUFF.
>> NO, NO, NO. It's both.
>> Trust me.
>> Yeah. She'll she'll talk to us. She doesn't, you know, me and God, we we we just have an agreement. He knows my life and and I can just be real with him. So I'm like, God, what the f is going on? And it wasn't fervency or what faithfulness. Articles that I'm seeing coming out about Hollywood and about entertainment and everybody promoting their own version of what a relationship with Jesus looks like. Like the porn star that just got baptized again because she felt the Holy Spirit. But she immediately refused to cancel any of her orgy uh video sites that were going to be done because she just needed to renew. And that's the way her and God have have have worked the relationship out. She's accepted, but she can keep living in her stuff.
>> This is mainstream stuff, folks. Lack of repentance, lack of truth,
>> right? Influence seduction to embrace lifestyles that have never ever been congruent with a life of holiness, new or old.
>> That's right.
>> Trauma. 2 Samuel 13:20. Lust of the flesh, lust the eyes, the pride of life. Trauma. Trauma can bring all sorts of things in your life. But do you know that trauma can actually make a person prideful? Yeah.
>> That because of what happened to you, you don't trust anybody.
>> And then you know better than anybody else that when they comes to get that that's not the answer you were looking for.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Moving on.
>> I don't know. I don't know if it's getting getting in the house here. Uh how about curses? Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life can come through how the enemy gets around it is through curses.
>> Cursing your own life in your tongue is the power of life and death. Other people's curses that he uses people to curse your life. How about deception? Romans 7:11 and 2 Timothy 2:26 as we looked at last night. Those are the avenues that those three things lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life. That's how he five things that he uses to get and get around your will to begin to partner with things where you don't bring your will into alignment with God's word.
>> Listen, any demonic strong man who can master the human will can then make you his slave. Any demonic strongman who can master get you to partner with your will and actually have authority over your will because you've aligned it with him will make you his slave. That's why Romans 6:16. Do you not know that if you present yourself to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether of sin that leads to death or obedience that leads to righteousness. Once the human will or the gatekeeper of our soul has been weakened and taken captive, the demon controls that gate. That's why it's constantly looking. If it can get in through a religious spirit, if he can control the gate of your will, then he will direct you and lead you into various places. Are you there?
>> And and many times it won't just it won't take you to the porn studio. If you're dealing with a religious spirit, where will he take you?
>> To other churches and to other Christians and to other groups where where my church doesn't recognize my gift, but I found places that will.
>> Come on.
>> A demonic stronghold will what? How demonic strongholds are built? Demonic inspired thoughts are introduced to our mind. And if the will does not resist these thoughts, they become beliefs about God or about self or about others. Entertaining these thoughts will invoke negative emotions. Have you noticed that when there is demonic activity or potential to have a stronghold there even in a religious spirit, the religious spirit, have you noticed this? This is a classic classic case to test a religious spirit. A religious spirit will never be accused of encouraging and building up someone else.
>> I you you got to hear this. A religious spirit will never ever be accused. You know, you're just so encouraging. That's a RELIGIOUS SPIRIT. YOU'LL NEVER HEAR THAT. YOU'LL NEVER HEAR somebody speaking in love, in kindness, and building somebody up in love and and and in not in not in a weird prideful thing, but in a genuine builder and uplifter. It can never be a religious spirit because a religious spirit always has to have something negative to work with. That's why the admonition in the scriptures so clearly are all the time and multiple uh books of the Bible that the Holy Spirit had Paul write. Backbiting, division, faction, evil speaking, murmuring, all of those things belong to a religious spirit.
>> All of them. And then reason comes in and just says, "WELL, I'M JUST I JUST I JUST WANT TO BE HONEST."
>> NO, that's the blinder. You're being honest from a religious spirit's perspective.
>> You're not actually being honest with the truth.
>> The truth that's covered in love.
>> Yes.

>> The difference between a religious spirit and one that has not a religious spirit is a one that speaks truth always has to have the platform of love. That comes in the in the in the aspect means it believes the best. We're talking about 1 Corinthians 13. It it it doesn't keep a record of wrong.

>> It's it's endless. It hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things. Why? Because that's the platform in which truth sets.
>> A religious spirit will always operate in. Well, I'm just being honest. I don't want to be fake. And so, here's the real. And it always brings a sense of condemnation, a sense of shame, a sense of error, and a sense of I don't belong.
>> Those are the lies that we've got to begin to break. Because what you didn't realize, it's a it's those three things, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, the pride of life. It religious spirit works with pride. And that's why it's so strong. There probably is, I'm going to say this, there probably is nothing more in church land stronger than the religious spirit because of pride
>> because it operates under pride and control
>> which is and I will I don't know if we'll get to it but that is witchcraft.
>> That's right. Yes.
>> So, a religious spirit opens up depending on how strong it is. It opens up the atmosphere of witchcraft, which is the desire to control, to control others, to control the atmosphere, to control. Now, that doesn't mean that you can't have opinions. You can have opinions. It's just how does that opinion actually come across? And what does it do in your heart?
>> Yes. If that opinion leads you to begin to go down a religious place of pride where you constantly believe you're right and everybody else is wrong, it isn't it isn't the Holy Spirit that's leading that.

>> Okay. I feel like Joshua. Son, stand still. All right. I'm going to take two more minutes. Acts 10:38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth, healing all that were oppressed of the devil. That word oppressed is a long Greek word and it's made up of several other words. First one is kata. Ka ado nasteo is actually the word. Katada means something that is coming down something that has that is dominating. Donastes the other Greek word means a ruler or officer with great authority and it's where we get the word dunamis power. So when you put the word denastes and katada in it as the Greek you now have the word oppression that carries the idea of domination. So when the Lord says he healed all who were oppressed of the devil, it expands a bit of our understanding when he says, "Okay, here's what oppression is. You've actually been dominated by a force that brings a domination over you." There are various levels of of domination, right? You can have a a a dominating tyrant, right? The idea of domination or you can have an influence that dominates as superiority that you can't seem to get to another side, another revelation. So when it says oppressive power, this is comes from something that's cruel. It comes from something that has has a control over your mind. And that's what I want you to see as we get to pray.
