In this video, I'm going to be talking about Touchstone Education. Touchstone Education are a property training company that provide mentorship and support to help people become financially independent in property. Now, that's a great business model. I do the same. I've been running since 2016.
However, a few years ago, I got somebody messaged me and they said, "Samuel, I've done Touchstone Academy. I invested £15,000. I was told I was going to get supported and mentored and looked after, but it was almost non-consistent. The mentors were rude. I was then told after I paid that I actually only got 20 minutes one-on-one mentorship a month, and I haven't got any results. There's not really a great community. I wish I'd done your training instead."
Now, this person, you know what I said to him? I said, "I think it's your fault. You need to take responsibility. You need to put the work in." However, after a year or so of him messaging me and asking me questions, and I, you know, I try and help him, I'd try and help him, he then joined the academy, my academy. And when he joined my academy, he became very, very, very successful. And one of the first things that he did when he joined my academy was when he got the app and he saw what he actually got. "Oh my gosh, I can just put unlimited mentoring calls whenever I want. I can literally speak to you, Samuel, and you don't live in a different country for tax reasons. You're here. I can hang out with you in person every week. I can go to all these different academy groups. You, instead of asking me for money to do more stuff when I'm part of the academy, Samuel, you're investing in me, 'cause that's what we do. We write checks and we fund people's deals. When I've got deals, if I want to sell the deal, you're helping me sell the deal and you'll sell it for me and take a very small fee, and I'm, oh my gosh."
So, every time anyone would come to me from Touchstone and then join my mentorship on the academy, they'd always cry tears of joy, happy tears, during the onboarding when we were helping them put together their business plan, when we were booking out their plans, they'd cry tears of joy. And suddenly they started succeeding and winning.
So, I've been very careful 'cause I never wanted to speak badly of anybody. I don't want to speak badly of Touchstone Education. I mean, I'm sure they're doing a lot of good. They're helping people get into property. They're doing great marketing, and that's fantastic. However, I strongly feel that if you take £10,000, £15,000, £20,000, sometimes £5,000 of somebody to give them support, a mentorship, I strongly believe that that mentorship should be more than 20 minutes one-on-one a month. I mean, we offer unlimited whenever you want. You just book a call in. Whether you want to speak to a solicitor, an accountant, a mortgage advisor, if you're looking at a property that needs a refurb and you don't know how much it costs, you just send it over and we quote the refurb. If you've got a deal and you need help selling it, we give you the investors. Like, that's what I feel the standard in the industry should be.
So, I've never been a member of Touchstone Education, so I've not personally experienced their mentorship. Certainly don't want to speak badly of them. But what I do want to say is, if you've been a member of Touchstone previously and you've spent £15,000 and felt a little bit unsupported, here's what I'm saying: Come and join the academy. Now, there's a problem. You already invested £15,000, £20,000 in Touchstone, and then maybe they sold you some more stuff on top of that as well. Maybe they then got you to invest in some of their deals as well. So you might be £20, £30, £40,000 deep invested in yourself already. So I don't want to say to you, "Come and do the academy, it's £12,000." Whilst I could say that, and many people have done that even after being part of Touchstone, I don't want to say that because you're already invested. I feel almost, I feel like it's a shame, it's a sin, it's wrong. I'm empathetic towards people that have spent tens of thousands and now they haven't got any results.
So here's what I'm saying instead. Number one, if you want to do some of our training programs, if you want to polish up on some of your skills, by the way, new, up-to-date training, we, I want to just give you £1,000 credit. If you're a Touchstone Academy member, you spent £50, I want to give you £1,000 to jump on one of our courses. Maybe do the commercial course that we run, which is commercial conversions combined with commercial investing, and it's all put together in one incredible, up-to-date, amazing, banging course. It's, it's a grand. I'll give you a thousand-pound credit to do that.
Second thing, I want to do. There's three things. Second thing I want to do is I want to invite you, if you want to come to an academy networking event and network and actually sense a bit of community and get some support and come down and network with our academy members. I'm saying, come on the house. Come on the house. Come and see what it's all about.
Final thing I'm saying is this: If you want to become a full academy member and you want to get myself and my team fully invested in you, investing in your deals, looking at your deals, putting together a bespoke business plan for you, and actually holding your hand and actually holding you to account and really giving you a full unlimited one-on-one support, maybe you think that sounds unbelievable. No, surely not. The academy, my academy is £12,000, and you get unlimited everything, all the training, all the support, all. Maybe you're thinking, "Oh, but I've already been down that road and it didn't work." So here's what I'm saying: I will allow you to join the academy, the full academy. And by the way, when you're in the academy, there's no additional selling. We don't go, "Now you're on the academy, oh yeah, but if you want to do further advanced." No, no, no. That's it. It's the mountaintop experience. It's everything. It's me, it's you, it's the team, it's everything. So you want to do the full academy, you can join the full academy and you can invest a fully refundable £1,000, fully refundable, which will give you a whole month on the academy. Now, if in that month you're like, "Actually, this isn't really for me," and at the end of the month you're like, "Nah, you know what, I don't really need this. I already know everything and it's kind of similar to Touchstone kind of thing." You know what we'll do? No questions asked. You don't even need to give us a reason. We will refund you for free, completely refund you. Which means that you've got £1,000 worth of training free, you got to come to an academy networking event for free, and now you got a whole month on the academy. And if you actually, nah, give you back the £1,000 completely for free.
Why am I doing this? I'm doing this for two reasons. Reason number one, I'm doing this is because genuinely, I feel like frustrated. I get countless messages. I feel my heart breaks for people, and I've spent hours and hours and hours sitting down with people and turning their journey around and giving them the support. And some, some heartbreaks when people, if you've spent £15,000 and you're like, "I didn't really get the support." I think it's wrong. That's the first reason. Second reason is because from a commercial perspective, I know that after a month, you ain't going to say, "I want my money back. It wasn't very good," because it will blow you away. I know that after that month, you're going to end up becoming a fully-fledged academy member and involved in. And I know that you're going to end up on winners on a Wednesday, you're going to end up in the newspapers, you're going to end up with loads of friends and mentors that support you and stand by you. And financially, the ROI, it's just going to make sense. But I wanted to put an olive branch out there. Try before you buy. Come down.
