There are five human instincts you do not control at all. The first one is blushing.

When you get embarrassed, your face turns red instantly, and there's no way to stop it. The blood vessels in your cheeks react to adrenaline before your thinking brain even catches up.

The second is your pupils. When you look at someone you're attracted to, your pupils dilate automatically. You don't get to choose it. That's why people with larger pupils are often seen as more attractive. Your brain reads it as interest without you realizing it.

The third is the flinch. If something suddenly moves toward your face, your hands jump up in about 14 milliseconds. That's faster than conscious thought, and it's a reflex you've had since birth.

The fourth is contagious yawning. When someone nearby yawns, your brain often makes you yawn, too, even if you're not tired. That's your mirror neurons automatically copying what they see without asking your permission. You might even yawn while watching this video just because you heard the word yawn.

The fifth is goosebumps. When you're scared or deeply moved by music, tiny muscles under your skin tighten on their own. You can't turn it off because it's wired directly into your fight or flight system, not your thoughts.

You like to think you're in control of your body, but in reality, your body is constantly making decisions for you. Faster than thought, deeper than awareness, but these things make your life 10 times easier. Just imagine having to take every breath manually. You will get exhausted in like 2
