To pass in those days, to clear with God, yes, it was Alleluia.
Now, the 12 disciples who will walk with Jesus in this very crucial assignment that God, for which reason God had to bring Jesus down to the earth in human form, where to be revealed, selected. It was too critical. It was too critical an assignment to be done in the flesh. God was the owner of the ministry. God was the one behind the mission of Jesus at a point from point in time, different points in time. Because of ministry, you hear Jesus say, "I do not think of my own, but that which the Father has told me I do. I do nothing of my own."
So, the assignment was too critical. So, for such a very significant choice of men and or women, as the case could be, it had to be done purely in the spirit, connecting with God, who had, who was the owner of the assignment. And Jesus, to show you the seriousness behind these, the selection of this, of men, or the selection of this man, because it could have been less than twelve, it could have been more than twelve. Even the number was deliberate by God. That particular number of twelve, God has his own reason for making them twelve, not five, not eight, not sixteen, not twenty-four. So, by God's understanding of what He wanted to be done, not just when Jesus was alive, but also after His accession, God decided that this choice of the twelve disciples, apostles, will be twelve in number.
So, Jesus, in verse 12, the Bible says, "He went into a mountain." Not for any other fame, but to the world to pray. Why? Because the choice of these disciples could make a man, the reason why He came to the earth in the first place. A bad husband can finish your life. A bad husband as a pastor. For some years, I have seen cases where it's clear that certain godly women don't deserve the husband they have. The husband, even in some instances, he hits her. God, any time He hears Jesus is angry and vested in His spirit, the same reasons why God loves her and God is impressed with her are the same reasons why the husband doesn't like her. She, 2017, "Son, God is calling our wise woman." For those same reasons, the husband sees as a fool and a Mugu. And this is vice versa.
There are seven people that will play a very close and sensitive role around your life. If you make a mistake in the choice of such people, you know what would the real mistake is? Not just choosing the wrong person, choosing those who ought not to be there. No, the real mistake is choosing someone that is meant to cause damage. You have to recognize that one of the tricks the enemy does. Now, you see that as a book, we highly recommend it in the church. For the past 15 years, it was one of the best books ever written on deliverance and spiritual warfare, "Secrets of the Dark Kingdom." It was written by American missionary T. Vitamins, who was in Africa for about 25 years. He served in many West African countries, some other parts of Africa, but in the later part, it was sent more to Nigeria. And one of the discoveries, so he, he did a very in-depth when some of these guys are doing some research, they do, they really do a very good work. So, he carried out an extensive research. And one pastor who walked with him, you know, I brought it, we brought him here to share with us about three or so occasions. He's late now. He, in letter, even told me that when it was time to publish that book, every printing press that they took it to, crushed their machines. Crashed. Is that it happened the first time, the second time, the third time. So, by the fourth time that, that, you know, that work eventually came out of the printing press. And one of those things he shared, the secret discovered is that the kingdom of darkness have now gone far to the east, and that they look into the future vessels that God is going to use mightily in the seasons ahead. And then what they do proactively is that they probe the wrong spouse into the life of that vessel of God ahead of time. It is already programmed ahead of time. So, there's a difference between marrying a man and marrying a man who is a spoiler, prepared and anointed and empowered by the devil and his kingdom. If you marry the wrong man who is not an agent of Satan, you would do certain things to please him, and at the point in time, he will love you. He will love you. But if someone is an agent, there is nothing you would do to please that person that will change that person.
So, Jesus, knowing this very well, the Jesus could just have prayed for one hour in the house. Why must He go to the mountain? That shows you how critical it is to choose the wrong persons for very sensitive roles in your assignment and time here or not. How long was, was it going to be around? He had just really three and a half years. Three and a half years. And it took 30 years of preparation for an assignment of three and a half years. And these were the same people that He was primarily going to depend on to carry on the work He was, He was on earth. That after His accession, the Bible says, "He went to the mountain." A place of seclusion, a place devoid of noise and destruction. He went to the mountain. What for? To year God. Yet God talk about what? Nothing else but to Him. Name that this visit to the mountain was not for revelations on other things. It was just to year God. Give Him some specific names. Can I tell you something? Your name has been written by God for setting purposes on this earth. That is part of your assignment. That is part of your destiny. That is part of your divine purpose. I pray that you will discover that purpose. That amen. Is week. I also pray that anyone that needs to recognize that God will open their eyes on time to recognize your purpose, that the wrong person will not be chosen for something you will tend to do. And in marriage, either in some realm of life, whatever God had ordained that you will be the one. May the wrong person never replace you. Let your name connect with heaven. Praise ye the Lord. Praise hear the Lord.
Jesus went where? He went to the mountain to pray. And you know, He excused every other person, including His mother. That He loved, including His mother. That your mother can recommend, but there are some things in life that it will be dangerous for you. For your mother to be the ultimate decider. When your mother would be the one to decide the woman you will marry, you are going to have a problem. Because if your mother is tribalistic in her thinking, and she has come to a conclusion that you must marry someone from her own tribe, and your destiny, the one God has chosen, the one Proverbs 18 verse 22 calls your greatest treasure in life. He says, "A man's greatest treasure is a wife from God." Provides after 2018 verse 22, "In man's greatest treasure," and your greatest treasure as a wife could be someone from another region of the country, someone from outside your nation, someone from outside your continent. And you know what? God will make your heart receptive to that woman. God will not walk on the heart of your father and mother because you are the one that has the responsibility to make the choice. It is when you have accepted and you are ready to run with it, and you are not praying, "Lord, every important person around my life connected with my destiny, Lord, minister to them as well." Then God will minister to your father, minister to your pastor, minister to your mother, and some, whoever it is that He has placed around you. But you are the one that God will originally speak to, and is expecting you to have the final say. Because sometimes there could be objection, even when it is the perfect will of God. Even when it is a perfect will of God. And there is nothing as bad as God choosing someone and you dump that person. God will not just bother to choose for everyone. But when God gives you a name and you put that name aside, you know, you know what it is to be notoriety. You have seen that happen even in politics. In politics, someone is governor, is a kingmaker from nowhere, and he brought you in, used his influence and resources, made you win party primaries, and you won the election all on his platform and influence. And then he gives you a name in lieu of someone for an appointment, and you dump that name. That is the beginning of trouble. That's the beginning of trouble. I know the implication. You run with your own choice. You are your own. When trouble comes, God will be laughing. When trouble comes from your own choice, God will be laughing. I told him, "Let's see how far you go." I told him, "You're going to seven-day fast." God will smile because you may see the time you are going through, whatever has a short time. But in the eyes of God, eight thousand years is equivalent to two one day. So, you may think you have been through a lot. In the eyes of God, it's not even one full day. I pray that every lifetime decision that is ahead of you after this message, you will not make a mistake. Can that man or woman say "Amen"?
So, Jesus went into the mountain, Luke 6 verse 12, to pray and continued all night in what? In prayer. To who? To God. Who was praying? Jesus. So, even Jesus, at the level of His anointing, make note. This is Luke chapter 6. By Luke chapter 4, He had already been anointed. By Luke chapter 4, He had already returned in the power of the Spirit. He had moved into the synagogue and declared that the Spirit of the Lord is upon Him. By Luke chapter 4, the Spirit of God was already upon Him. The anointing was all. So, even with the anointing, for such a critical choice of men or women, as the case would be, Jesus had to absolutely depend on God. In fact, to revert back to God, that list had to come from God. There are certain people you must never choose by yourself in life. Let God be the one to choose that man. Let God be the one to choose that woman. Because, where, can I tell you something? What really matters is the person that carries God's backing. Because you, we don't even need the best person. Hello, hello. You don't, we don't really need the best person. What we need is God's choice. Because with God's backing, someone that is completely unqualified today, with the grace that will come from God, with the backing that will come from God, you are going to get the best, the very best outcome and experience from that choice of God. On the other hand, you can, in your own wisdom, and using secular criteria, choose what is perceived as the best person, and you would have ended up making the greatest mistake of your life. No wonder the book of Proverbs says, "It had a novice, Aloha, Aloha, novice apprentice is better than a skilled rebel." A skilled rebel, you know what it causes? A skilled rebel. That means he's an expert. He's the best. Where is the rebel? The day you make the mistake of choosing him, you are finished. Like Satan, he would divide your kingdom and move away with at least one head of people that God had ordained to stay with you. An untrained apprentice, untrained, untrained, up-wreck. Forget about what is important. Is it the one that God has chosen? On the job, at the point of the appointment, she may not have what it takes. But because she is the choice of God, God will give her the grace. Can the women say Amen? Are you confident that God will use you for something? Then let your amen be louder. Can God use women for great things? Can God use you for great things? Can God use young men for great things? I can tell you that there are many elders and many people in position today to make the choice who don't believe that women should be given any serious responsibility. There are people today who still look at 50-year-olds, 50-something-year-olds, 60-year-olds as small boys. Nigeria, as it is today, we have leaders who believe that until you are 70 and above, you can lead the nation. And it's not just Nigeria, some African countries are faced with a predicament at the time where we have a Macron in in France coming on board at the age of 39. We have a prime minister coming on board at 81 in Austria. And there are those today who would not accept it. David, whose only track record is just looking after the sheep. He's just looking at other sheep. So, you know, if you look at the contest, then that means the elder brothers of David obviously have something they were doing, and they must have been doing something more noble. They were not in the bush looking after the sheep. So, their own understanding and criteria is someone that is in a position. The elder brothers of David have trained us for trained, loaded CV, had worked in the World Bank, and all those things are there. They may have all of those qualities, but they will fail as a president. And we have had them. We have had them. They will fail, especially when God is not backing that person.
So, verse 13, "And when it was day." When it was day. 2020 is your daytime. A time will come in your life when it will be announced that God has chosen you. Can I hear your amen? If you are confident of your destiny with God, coneja your amen. [Applause] Listen, you are going to hear some names now that never appeared in the Bible before. In fact, some names that we have never had from Genesis chapter 1 to Malachi chapter 4, Malachi chapter 3, in the whole of the Old Testament, that name has never been mentioned. From Luke chapter 1 to this point, that name has never been mentioned. But Jesus was already ministering. And this tribe names that we are going to be mentioned, you may not be the only men following Him. You may know the only men. Someone else will be going to be selected, but they were going to be in another group of 70. And on that group of 70, it wasn't an issue of first confession. It wasn't an issue of foundation member. And it had not. There was a good friend of Jesus Christ when he was a youth. That doesn't mean that God would never use your, your old friends in school. No, that is not it. But in, in this particular context, so he had nothing to do with people he was familiar with over time, his childhood friends. In the new year, when it was day, he called on to him. Why did he call them? The list is ready. And the vital information you need from God at this time of your life today. May a lot upon the heavens. Whatever is blocking the angel carrying God's answer to your prayer today, God, send reinforcements to remove those. [Applause] After to death service, you yet God clearly every cloud of confusion that has been projected using witchcraft, using sorcery, using voodoo, using spiritual manipulation to divert your attention from the real choice of God to a strange man or strange woman. Then, Lord, let us obstacles in the name of Jesus. With clarity, you a year. Whatever God will see and you will walk with what God has spoken. Let your amen connect with heaven. Please sit in the presence of the Lord.
And when it was day, because you will not be on the mountain forever. Well, it was day. You will not keep on praying a particular prayer point forever. At a point, God will finally answer. Nothing he could not, you know, you know, I could have returned. It wasn't compulsory that he had to stay in the mountain, on the mountain all night. If he had spent one day and God spoke just after one hour, he would have returned. The way the story is, the way it is, is because, you know, it was until after he had prayed all night that God finally spoke. Just like what happened in Daniel chapter 2, verse 16 to 19, when Daniel called his three friends, Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego, and they decided to pray concerning the king's dream. And after they had prayed one night of prayer, just one night of prayer, by morning, God spoke. God spoke, and everything God said was accurate and correct. You hear God? God will give you direction. You will not be a victim of wasted years. And your career, you wouldn't waste your time, our resources, investing on the wrong thing in the name of Jesus.
"And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples and obtained." Can you see what we are saying? Of them, they were not 12. They were more of them. "He chose twelve, whom he also, whom also he named apostles: Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas." Remember Thomas was going to be, you know, it had its own issues. Thomas was not a man of strong faith. He was not a man of strong faith. So, by all reckoning, we were not, we did him fit, at best, to be among the 70, not not settling, not in this esteemed group of twelve. But by the, by the, by the mercies and the author of God Himself, Thomas was chosen. In that area of life, we had nobody would have chosen you. God would choose you. I don't care whether the person, even by your left or right, likes what I'm saying. By the mercies of God, for certain things that ordinarily you would not have been chosen in life, by the mercies of God, your name will be called out. [Applause] He sits in heaven and does whatever pleases Him. If you want to protest, you can carry placards. But God, you are God's choice, and time will prove this very soon. Talk to your neighbor, say, "I hope you are listening to what a pastor is saying." Please get the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
So, He chose twelve, whom He also named the Apostle Simon. And they went on. Matthew and Thomas. James, the son of Alphaeus. Note, two names were mentioned there. James and John. Simon and Andrew. It says in verse, verse 14, "Simon, whom also He named Peter; and Andrew his brother; then next we who? James, Andrew, John from the same family." God carries a governor and raises a president. He sits in heaven and does whatever pleases Him. And not only are telling you about possibilities, it has already happened. Not in one obscure country, in the most powerful nation on earth today. No, no, no, no, no, no. It was the quota system? No, no, no, no, no. Somebody has come from that family before? So, no. You know, there are other families now. God doesn't do it that way. If you follow God, where your brother can never be, you know, an obstacle to your destiny. Brothers are ordained to complement, to be a support, a blessing to your destiny. And I keep on telling you, because we are kinds of messages, somebody does not, someone doing walking right with God does not need to go down for you to go up. And God will never, and sad that prayer or or no, that we she, you know, one of the things we love about God. As long as you stand of her, as long as this man is doing his best in the fear of God, in the part of diligence, no matter how much somebody else under him in that same cycle is also doing very well, and God wants to lift that person, God will never bring down this man. It will never bring down a God-fearing son or daughter. Wins. He will never bring down a faithful servant. In order to elevate another. God as in do such things. It can go to the extent of opening doors that were not there before. And when you open those doors, he who go higher. The other one will also go higher. But God will not bring down a faithful soul just to promote. And not a faithful soul. Totally was in devil. I don't need to die for you to rise up in life. That prayer, that commitment, you may not have meanings. But in some audiences, in some settings, that is a powerful word. It's prophetic. It's prophetic. God will never bring you down. You will always go up. Thank God. Thank God. Thank God. That in God, in His wisdom, went back. He went back to the naming ceremony of each of these 12. When it was clear who God would choose. To they were going to be 11 faithful disciples. And then by professing, by prophecy, there will be a betrayer among His disciples. So, since they were going to be 12, by God's reasoning, He just chose that He needed just 12. So, 11 would be faithful and real disciples. Why one would play the role of this event, a traitor, and betrayal of Jesus. And when God saw that his name, you know, God, of course, looks ahead. If the will of each of them, normally, who have names. A few, for instance, you know, the issue of names can come in at any point in time. But in the case, in this particular case, just like it happened with Cyrus at the time, one of the other disciples was being born, the Spirit of God influenced that, that disciple also be called Judas. And you know the implication. So that we would know that it is not that name Judas that made Judas Iscariot do what he did. It is not that name. There are times where a name is bad, a name has negative spiritual application. But in Judas, it is correct. It was not because of his name. In fact, if you were to give Judas Peter, he would still have played that role. He would still apply that negative role. You know, you know the other side of it. Out of a bad family, God can raise you to give a good name to that family. You can come from a tribe where a lot of people from that tribe seem to have some negative traits. But God can use you from that same tribe to change the perception of people about that tribe. So, no, no, no, no. Our pastor is not, it's not like that. And he's from that side. Our MD is not like that. He's from that side. Our leader is not like that. And he's from that same environment. So, what happens next in your mind? You have only processes that any negative trait you see from people from that same tribe has to do with them as a person, and not because they are from that tribe. Because you have found one man who is from the same tribe, the same family, but does not carry that negative trait. Does not carry that negative trait. And that is why your name now will open doors for any other person carrying your family name. Your name will open doors for your children in the name of Jesus. And any attempt that the devil would make to spoil the glory of your family name ahead of time, that attempt will fail. Because he's going to discover that irrespective of what it did here, he thought he had done to spoil the glory of your family name ahead of time, when your time comes, what God has said will happen. We still have, no matter how bad the name of Nigeria has been messed up in the minds of people worldwide, in this new Nigeria we are about to enter, as the glory of God begins to manifest, the same people that always suspected Nigerians for the wrong thing, the same people would be the ones recommending Nigerians. Let your amen connect with heaven.
And so, what happened in verse 16, "And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also was a traitor." Praise ye the Lord. So, you could see the mystery of God's choice playing out here and there. Some things we learn from the experience of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ showed the right example on what we should do with our strategic relationships. Number one, He submitted. He fulfilled His obligations to His family. He fulfilled His obligations to His family. He submitted to His parents. You remember what happened at His at age 12 in Jerusalem? He submitted to His spirit. He obeyed His spirit. Later on in life, before He departed, He also did something. He arranged for His mother to be taken care of. He arranged for His mother to be taken care of and handed her over to Apostle John, who was one of His inner circle of three. The inner circle had Peter, James, and John. Inner circle of three. And then you had the twelve. Secondly, you observed that Jesus always submitted to God's will and His leading in the choice of people. God, oh, Jesus always submitted to God's will as regards the choice of people. Number three, Jesus was ready to serve people, and He served people. He was ready. He was enforced. He was ready, and He actually served. Starting from the very beginning, He served His biological father by assisting Him in carpentry. Technologies, you know, in this season of errors and extremes, even though it was clear that Jesus was being called to what you want to describe as a real full-time ministry, at a point in time, and for a period longer than the time He actually spent in ministry, Jesus was involved in carpentry, assisting His father. Assisting His father. These were examples for all of us to learn from. He wasn't one young huge who will just sit down somewhere and be watching His father from afar, laboring alone in what God had called His father to do. Some time ago, income in life, when Jesus would no longer be into carpentry, but there was a time where Jesus was still under His father, and whatever God had, you know, programmed His father to be doing was what Jesus was also doing in support and assistance to His. It's a lesson. It's a real big lesson. Your mother goes to the market to trade, and possibly sometimes your mother is the one that is even a widow, and she's the one taking care of the family. And from whatever she earns, she is sending you to school, giving you monthly allowance, taking care of all your needs. And then you are on holiday, and you can't spend one week with your mother in that same shop. Learn from Jesus. Learn. Except your mother telling you, "No, stay home." Learn from Jesus. Nobody's going to, nobody is saying that God has also called you to do the same business as your mom. A time will come when you'll be free to do whatever you wish to. But at the point in time in your life, like Jesus, you should be seen to also support your father, support your mother, whoever is taking care of the responsibility of the family in whatever by providence they are doing today. One of those things that will make it well for you in life is there in the scriptures. Ephesians after 6 verse 2, is by the parental blessing, part of which comes by the way you relate with your father and your mother. Jesus assisted His father in carpentry, even though that was not what He was going to do for Himself later in life. Also, on that service, Jesus served people. He served more teachers of people. How? As they functioned in certain areas of ministry, in certain areas of me, if His soft people in certain areas of different areas of ministry. Number four, you must find out your destiny partners and relate with them. You must find out your destiny partners and relate with them. Because this is another area where Jesus set an example. Jesus found out His destiny partners. In some instances, He went to the extent of exclusive prayer, such as the prayer at the mountain to choose the twelve. He found them out, and then when He knew them, He related with them as, you know, their role in His life and ministry demanded. For instance, Jesus walked with the 12. The 12 apostles. Jesus also worked with the 70. Jesus had a close relationship with the inner circle of three. And who are those? Peter, James, and John. Inner circle of three. And then there were some God-sent women that also had a powerful fellowship who were supporting the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible recognized them. The Bible recognized these women who were always be. And you see, the Spirit of God had used these, those that instead brought me back to that instance, and He said, "There must be a balance in anything we are doing." Is that those women, you know, those women will leave the house in the morning, and may not come back till they leave. Meantime, they traveled with Jesus. They moved. You know, they were always with Him. In addition to that, they supported Him and His ministry with their substance. With their substance. We are not even talking about individual gifts and honor that they showed to Him from time to time, which I also some I recorded in the scripture. And the Spirit of God was asking me a question, is that, "Do you think those women did have husbands?" All of those who maintain, have husbands. Many of them had husbands. Many of them. But having a husband does not mean that you are not nothing in life. That even between you and God, you cannot even express yourself in fellowship with God, in connection with God, because you are a wife. So, we husbands, we must be, we must be careful. So, sometimes required, at the end of the day, you may just expose yourself to the wrath of God. The woman may stay because she doesn't want a broken marriage, but it can bring a decisive judgment of God on the husband. At the point in time, no, you must not go to church today. Now, you must not, you must not give the, even her own income, you will tell her not to give to church. Why must you buy this? Why must you? Whatever these women followed Jesus. They followed Him. They supported Him. The Bible records. And there were some women, is there in the scripture, some women who supported Jesus in His ministry, different from the 70, different from the 12. And many of them, we have married women. So, let's, let's please, let's create a balance. We preach submission in marriage. Or let's, let's create a balance. Let's be careful not to expose ourselves to the wrath of God. I have, have studied and I've discovered that it can be terrible in life when God decides to deal with a particular person. It can be terrible. May you never have that kind of experience. Recently, the Lord has been ministering to me, saying, "Take note." He said, "Sodom and Gomorrah is Boko Haram, and the Fulani herdsmen have become the book." This Sodom and Gomorrah people of today, the same level of anger with which God came down to destroy and to judge Sodom, the people of Sodom and the people of Gomorrah, is what will happen to Boko Haram. If you are not one of them, say that I am a. It's what will happen to the Fulani herdsmen. May you take up certain captives? Can you interview them? Or to our Muslims, they, you set them aside, then you deliberately wait for Christmas Day. You deliberately, you are going to kill them. Then to spite God more, you deliberately wait for Christmas Day and you slaughter them. You, you capture a man, family man, is dedicated to God, serving God for over three decades as a priest of God. You even discover that this man is a priest beyond his local church. He has been serving on the platform of the body of Christ. He is even a council chairman of a Christian Association of Nigeria. And then you demand ransom for a priest. Then, okay, they now tell you, "Okay, we pay." Say, "We want 2 million." I thought, we thought it was 2 million dollars. And I heard directly from those in that location. They asked for two million euros. Two million dollars would be like something like seven, seventy-two million naira. About two million euros, you'll be talking of something about over 800 million. So, they were asking for it for council chairman. So, some, some people got, took only God. They wouldn't know. We had, they got the money because I know that one of the challenges the church has, and not the church in the North doesn't have the financial strength that the church in the South has. The church in the North doesn't have that financial strain. And they offered fifteen million. And I said, "No way." Then they demanded, "Renounce his faith." He said, "Never." One very critical, possibly will randomness because a message is too critical, very, very, very, very critical message. But one major lesson we'll take home is that God doesn't just tell you everything to do in life. No, it doesn't. He gives you the opportunity, gives you the freedom to also use your, your level of wisdom, your knowledge, and sometimes your heart's desire. What you know will make you happy, yes, provided it doesn't contradict the Word of God. Whatever you feel will make you happy, God allows you to also choose. But there are some times when God now will be the one to say, "Go this way. Take this job. Take up this career." Once God has spoken, confirm it. Because there are many lies, lies, the arrows of lies, deception in the spirit, appearing to be the voice of God. Many jobless men and women who have gone into ministry for, for money. One of the ways they, the source for money every week is to come to go to people and tell them, "I have a word from God." When God has not spoken. Submit on the next ablation ministry. They would not, they would not. They would rather continue in their freelance of a level of operation. And to survive, they continue to bomb bad people. Will God send a word? Gotta have a word from you for you from God. But when God is truly the one saying something, "Do this. Give this. Go in this. That choice. This person." Don't joke with it. Don't joke with it. Don't joke with it. One of the things you learn with powerful people who love you, don't mix them up. When a powerful person who is giving you a lot of favor and still has great plans for you, once in a while, asks us something, someone should be chosen for something, someone should be appointed, and he doesn't do that 100 percent of the time. 90, 80, 70 percent of it. Just once in a while, he will bring his own name. You must learn to give them their due consideration. God will not give you the name of everybody that you need to choose 100 percent of the time. But whenever He does, you must take note. Whether you like that person or not, whether people like that person or not, be sure that is really God speaking. Once you are sure, that person must be appointed. That is the spirit of David. That's the spirit of David. People don't want him. People don't want her.
