[Music] [Music] [Applause] You.

When the ruler of the first house is placed in the second house, the persona finds expression through the house of possessions and physical security. The second house is where we experience material stability and material satisfaction and sensual satisfaction. And all of the earth houses and signs have a stability component to them. So the sign that rules the second house shows our attitude toward money and the resulting financial experiences in the second house. As any sign on the cusp of any house shows our attitudes toward the contents of that house. So the sign on the second shows what we want to acquire. And the persona is more subdued and slower to react when the first house ruler is in the second. So there's a relaxed or sensual quality to the personality.

The second house is the setting where survival through acquisition will take place because the first house ruler is how we will survive. And planets in the second house show how we prosper. So the survival of the first house comes through utilizing one's assets and marketing oneself, how one earns what one earns. So the self-esteem is also an important part of the first in the second. A badly aspected first house ruler in the second house can show that one feels physically vulnerable or threatened by the material world and can suffer from low self-esteem or a poverty mentality. A well aspected first house ruler in the second can show one feels at home in their own skin and that self-esteem is assured. One's primal ego is projected into the setting of the second house when we have the first ruler in the second. So feeling superior or like a winner, it depends on how one feels about themselves, how one regards themselves. So the value that they ascribe to themself.

So we can look at the second house in terms of credit. And the second house is the money bank and the love bank. It's the credit we give to ourselves. Debt is the opposing factor in the eighth house. So the credit score in the second house, the debt burden resulting from that credit score is seen in the eighth house. So earnings are based on self-esteem and what is produced out of that are goods. So our ability to craft ourselves or something that's very much what our self-esteem is tied to. So physical cash is not credit. Physical cash is found in the second house. So we're like a banker who gives out our own loan and then calls it back. The credit we give ourselves determines how much then we can borrow or not borrow. And borrowing is in the opposing eighth house and creates the cycle both mentally and financially of borrowing and debt.

So when we're dealing with cash, which is the same as self-esteem, if we want more, if we want more stuff, or if we want to be the stuff, then we must be more productive. We must do more work. We must use our assets and talents to the best of our ability. So personal economic expansion depends on how much credit we issue to ourselves. If we give ourselves a lot of credit, then we can get a lot of credit. We earn more. Having given ourselves a lot of credit, we can work with what personal assets and talents we have to the best of our ability. Then we can get more stuff and finer things. So handling ourselves in the best possible way is beautiful. And beauty is a second house experience. If we give ourselves no credit, then we are poor. We have lack. We envy what others have. We have an eighth house experience. There's a, there's a debt of self-esteem. So this lack of personal credit is then mirrored back and experiences that reinforce the debt cycle. So look to how the first house, the ruler is aspected in the second house because it shows the instinct to survive. One's instinct to remain alive is served either successfully or not through the bank of life.

The first house ruler being in the third house brings experiences that stem from survival through mental acuity or learning or speaking or analysis. What can we pick up? So the persona also has experiences of courage or discouragement. There's a busy, multi-versatile way that the persona is going to express. And we speak up in the third house. This is where we find the, the, we find words, languages in the opposing ninth. So the persona shows up through mercurial experiences, stimulating experiences. The third house serves the needs of the first house. So we have survival through being mentally fit, survival through one's wits. And the third house contains the daily mail and the current events, writing and consumption of news. So the persona is in the setting of what is current, what is hip. The third house is a place of meeting people within our own kin, your general vicinity. So one wins and overcomes in the trades or as a writer or as a speaker or a technician. The wits are sharp. And one often is going to live by their wits when the first house ruler is in the third. Disorganization or attention deficits can be a third house experience with hard aspects to the first house ruler, especially if that hard aspect is from Mercury or the ruler of the first house is in a hard aspect to the ruler of the third house.

When the first house ruler is in the fourth house, we see the persona, the will to live coming through experiences of home, our intimacy, our roots, emotions. So survival is being served by support. The persona is in an introverted house and can reflect this with a quieter demeanor. So nurturing intimate others, endearing ourselves to intimate others, forming into intimate bonds with others in general, really is the path to self-preservation. So it's a dependence for the sake of survival, depending on the tribe. The fourth house contains close contacts, the people we live with and those closest to our home, our family. So the first house ruler in the fourth can show someone who takes charge in the home and runs the daily domestic activities, really in an effort to engender dependence in others so they can then stay alive. So we find things that are familiar in the fourth house. The first house ruler tends to open up in the comfort of those one already knows. So we find the persona sort of revealing itself in comfortable or familiar situations, in the home, among small, tight-knit groups. So the persona is coming through the foundation of the chart. When it comes through the fourth, there can be a strong connection to the present through the past. So a connection to the present through genealogy or through history. So the fourth house is also our emotional stability. The fourth is an area of life where steadiness is found and affected. It's either steady or it's not in the fourth house. It waxes and wanes as well. So whatever plans the tenant it are populated or going to show what's going on in there. So if the first house ruler is aspected harshly to other planets or to the Moon, especially, or in hard aspect to the ruler of the fourth house itself, then stability may be a challenge, as well as achieving a peaceful domestic relationship.

When the first house ruler comes into the fifth house, we see experiences stemming from one's will to survive coming through competition and play. So one proves themselves through using one's physical or natural abilities to win at the game of life. It's an impressive position. It's a lusty position for the first house ruler. So a lust for life and survival through children is also going to be a factor. One's vitality can be very strong if the first house ruler is well aspected, or vitality can be weakened if harshly aspected. The willpower as well, especially if harshly aspected to the ruler of the fifth house of the Sun. So the ego is not retiring or shy with the first house ruler in the fifth house. One has a pretty high natural confidence. And that can also be a cockiness, especially if the ascendant ruler is in aspect of Jupiter or Uranus. So there's some wild oats to sow with the first house ruler in the fifth house. One is going to achieve supremacy through how well they score both in sports and romance. So it's a highly creative placement and encourages personal self-expression. It's hard not to express oneself with a childlike glee or exuberance. So it's not the most mature placement for the first house ruler. And someone might even regress as they grow older. They can grow younger as they age with this placement.

[Music]

The first house ruler in the sixth house leads to experiences where we win at problem-solving and arranging our life in a way that serves our larger goals. So the regimen serves the need to succeed. It serves the goals. It serves how one wants to ultimately win. The persona is in the setting where we find maintenance. So the will to live is facilitated by good health and good routines. The focus is on details in the sixth house, particular opportunities, particularities. So there can also be a will for being of service, being a particular surface, ingratiating oneself or serving others can also be a source of feeling seen, of showing up. If the first house ruler is frustrated by hard aspects to other planets, to Mercury, or to the ruler of the sixth house itself, then we can see an ego or an inn that is small or interprets itself as inferior. So it's an, it's an inferior self-image. And we would do seemingly inferior things in the sixth house, things that, you know, seem small, but they actually in the long run are quite important because they do pave the way to the larger goal being met or the larger need being met. So the first house ruler in the sixth can show a diminutive ego. And this can be a gracious or humble persona or expression of ego with easy aspects, or inferiority or feeling humiliation with the hard aspects.

The first house ruler in the seventh house shows the persona comes through experiences with others. So the self-image and the will to survive is served by harmonization with others. The area of life where we find relationship with others is where the ego is seeking to succeed at life, where the self-image is coming through. So survival comes through partnership. And we make our internal enemy our friend. And as a result, our external enemy becomes our friend. Or we see others as the enemy if we do not understand the enemy within us. So the seventh house is the mirror. What one seeks in others is found in the seventh house. And what one sees in others is really the result of self-image, the first house. So self-reflection can result in social reflection that is very life-affirming with this particular placement. We can be at war with others or see them as an enemy, depending on the self-image and one's integration of their own self-projections. So relationships are the result of the self. And the more we reflect on who we are and how we are, and the more willing we are to accept who we are and how we are, the more life-affirming the resulting feedback is. The more we're willing to accept others as they really are, if and how we reflect on ourselves is reflected in others. So we can prove our right to be by allowing ourselves to be. And this keeps us safe from extermination. The seventh house is where we find open enemies. We can have physical safety in this area of life, the area where we deal with enemies, if we are at peace with ourselves. So one survives by achieving peace in the war within oneself. One survives by making their enemy into their friend.

The first house ruler in the eighth house brings the ego and the will to survive into the realm of life where we find debt, secrets, buried treasure, repressed things, crisis, sexuality, what we owe. So the persona is more covert and less apt to reveal itself. So knowledge is power. And the less knowledge others have, the more the person with this placement feels that their physical survival is secure, their supremacy is one. So one wins the war and proves themselves through the art of deception. With the first in the eighth, one can be deceived about themselves with hard aspects to the ruler of the first house. And the persona can take on an "ends justify the means" type of bent. So the self-image can be darker in the eighth house. Survival comes through transformation of previous self-images. We form a different, more evolved image when we dig deep and confront the hard things that we must reform, reform if we do not want to be an enemy, if we do not want to see. And so we self-reflect in the seventh house. This turns into looking into the abyss in the eighth house. A willingness to see or being completely deceived. What appears to be a bottomless chasm is actually us at our highest. It's us at our most unrefined. So we achieve supremacy in the area of life where we experience fear. We master that fear. We, we subdue that fear. So deep self-preservation can be the outcome. Or self-preservation can be at risk if we have hard aspects to the ruler of the first house or Pluto and hard aspect to the ruler of the first, or the ruler of the eighth and hard aspect to the ruler of the first.

The first house ruler in the ninth house has the persona coming through the area of life where we find confidence and vision, ideology and adventurous experiences. So this is a firehouse, like the fifth house. And with a first house planet tantric the fifth or the ninth, we're going to see an increase in confidence or in one's assumption of their, their abilities, especially their physical abilities. So confidence and self-image can even be inflated in the ninth house. Or we can see risk-taking, especially with hard aspects from Jupiter or the ninth house ruler to the ruler of the first house. So confidence and initiative, they can be challenged by hard aspects to come into proportion to reality. Or if aspected harshly to Saturn or Pluto, there's often a fear of expansion. Or we could even see morality issues or tax issues. So easy aspects can confer a positive life outlook and a can-do attitude. Our survival is served by how we believe in ourselves. What are the images that we believe in? If we believe too fully and without proportion, then we are at risk. But we don't want to not believe in ourselves or in possibilities. So there's a spontaneous way the one engages with life when we have the first in the ninth. A lust for more experiences, more information, more adventure, really colors the interpretation of reality.

[Music]

The first house ruler in the tenth house shows the persona and the will to survive comes through the area of life where we are going to establish ourselves, where we're going to become firm. So one wants to be something. One wants to be recognized for what they, what they have accomplished, what they are. When we have the first house in the tenth house, and the primitive ego is elevated in the tenth house, and this can lead to narcissism if we see hard aspects or even easy aspects that don't encourage real self-evaluation. So we can also see someone who feels like an underachiever and the resulting compensating behavior. So I need to show up through success can lead to a relentless approach to achievement or becoming somebody. And people can often experience authenticity problems with the first in the tenth due to the mask of the persona being expressed as the public image. So one can fear exposure or seek it out, really depending on aspects and how one recognizes themselves with the first in the tenth.

The first house ruler in the eleventh house shows that one will show up through group interaction, working with others in a way that really serves our own objectives is very life-affirming. Gathering with others, and we partner with others in a platonic way. It's an extroverted placement for the ascendant ruler. There's often just a lot of interaction with life. The life force is focused on breaking through previous limiting self-images and questioning who one is. So self-inquiry can lead to enlightenment regarding the nature of the ascendant, the nature of the images that we have. So one may pierce through self-images and even leave them by the wayside of personal progress. With the first in the eleventh, the persona is innovative, very quick to learn. So one gravitates towards new or offbeat experiences. Survival is going to come through lucky risk-taking or successfully pushing the envelope. And one can see themselves as a rebel or an original. So self-preservation also comes through self-realization.

The first house ruler in the twelfth house shows that there is a mystical side to the persona. Often people with this placement do not understand why they are not clear or plain to others. Sometimes the first in the twelfth control person who doesn't really know themselves and lack self-awareness, although the self-image will seem quite deceptively clear. So one must go through their images of perfection or shame, really depending on aspects. We have to pierce those images. There is a spiritual self-image that will almost always exist with the first house in the twelfth house. And one is going to find a selfless surface to be an outlet for survival, giving of ourselves often to the point of exhaustion. So it isn't uncommon for self-deception to be obscuring a more accurate self-image or preventing self-images altogether. One is often their own worst enemy when we have the first in the twelfth, but they may not know it. So it's a case of sleeping with the enemy until we clarify who we really are, until we see through our own deceptive self-images. And the persona is sensitized and often quiet, a contemplative or dreamy, sometimes distracted by fantasy or daydreams. So what achieves supremacy through compassion? One achieves supremacy through, through honest self-evaluation. And compassion can be exhausting with hard aspects to the first house ruler or Neptune and aspect to the first house ruler. Exhaustion can really be a symptom of one undoing themselves through boundary problems that are more disguised as no compassion or sensitivity. The persona and images of self can be seen through, or they can take one in completely when we have the first in the twelfth.
