Hey everyone, in today's video, we are going to create this awesome 3D carousel animation in After Effects using only expressions. So, let's start the video. [Music] So, let's start by creating a new composition. I'll name it Main Comp, perfect. And 10 seconds is enough. 30fps, okay, okay. And I'm going to use five images. You can use any image or video. It's entirely up to you. And we need to create a new composition. So, 500 by 600, 30fps, 10 seconds, okay. And you'll have to drag and drop Image One or the video, whatever it is. One minute, you'll have to drag and drop. And here, we need a shape layer on the rounded rectangle. Perfect. It needs to be alpha-matted. If you are using an older version, you won't find this alpha-matte option like this. You'll have to do it manually, alpha-matte, tag-matte. Okay, mine is complete. Now I need a border. For the border, I'll duplicate the shape layer. And by turning on visibility, let's turn the fill to none. It will work even if I don't, but let's do it, which looks good. But if you want to make it even better, there's an effect here, Four Color Gradient, you can apply that. Let me see once how it looks after applying. Any changes? Ah, this one looks quite good to me. If you want, you can also rotate it here using expressions. For me, it's fine. Yes, step one is completely done. Now you have to duplicate Composition One as many videos or images as you want to use. I have five images, so I'll duplicate it five times. Okay. Now, you have to go into each composition and change the images. For example, in Composition Two, I'll replace it with Image Two. Some adjustments will be needed. Okay, scale. [Music] Position. So, you just have to go into each composition and change only the image. For example, in Three, I'll change it to Three, Image Three. So, I'll see you after making the changes. Okay. So, I have changed the images from Composition One to Five, as you can see. Now I'll go back to the Main Composition. I'll drag and drop Composition One. And make sure 3D is enabled. Let's create a null. And let's rename the null to Controller. One thing you need to keep in mind is that the renaming must be done correctly. Otherwise, there will be problems with the expressions. And we need to apply an effect to the null object, which is Slider Control. Slider Control, okay. And in Slider Control, we need to rename it to Radius. R-A-D-I-U-S, Radius. Let's duplicate it and rename it to Count. C-O-U-N-T, Count. Again, duplicate and rename it to Rotation. R-O-T-A-T-I-O-N, Rotation. And and, duplicate it one more time and rename it to Scale. Now the renaming chapter is closed. Now it's time for the expressions chapter. In Composition One, go to Position, press Alt, click the stopwatch. The expression box will appear. Then you have to copy and paste the given expression. You will find this expression in the description. Just copy and paste. Okay. One thing to note here is that it will show a slight error, which will be resolved. You just need to make the Count greater than zero. You'll see the error in the expression has disappeared. Next, you need to go to Scale. Again, Alt-click and just touch it with the scale of the Controller, and it will be done. Touch. And then, and one more expression is left, which you have to give on Y Rotation. I'll provide the link for this too, meaning check the description. Just copy and paste. Okay. Where did it go? No problem, it will appear. If you set the Scale to 100 here, then it will appear. You can also increase it. It's entirely up to you. Now the final animation part begins. You have to copy Composition One five times. Meaning, however many images you have. I have five images, so you have to replace them all. I'll replace Composition Two. Composition Three, oh sorry, sorry, I'll replace Composition Three with Three. I'll replace Composition Four. And with Composition Five, I'll replace Five. I have replaced everything, composition by composition. Next step, go to the Controller and make one change, which is in Count, you have to enter the number of images you are using. I have five right now, so I'll enter five. Okay. Now, by going to Slider Control, you can slide here to set the desired distance. You can also set the Scale, how much scale you want. And by going to Rotation, you can give the full rotation here. So, I'll create a simple animation. I'll slide a bit here in Rotation. Okay, nice. Pressing U, let's do the graph like this, so that it boosts in the middle. At the start. Okay, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. Okay, you can create any animation. You can also create animation using Scale. It will become smaller or bigger. If you want the mirror effect here, you can also create that. For this, you don't have to do anything. You have to create one more new composition. So, I'll create it quickly. And here, I'll drag and drop the Main Comp. I'll duplicate it. And and, here, right-click, Go to Transform, and Flip Vertical. Okay. And slightly decrease the opacity a bit here. And here, a Gaussian Blur effect is also optional. You can give it if you want. Yes, and create a Solid. And with this, Four Color Gradient, mainly for the background. I prefer to go with a slightly darker tone. Because the glossy effect looks good only in dark tones. Perfect.
