SEO tier list. Here are the things I think you should invest time in and shouldn't based on my, uh, I think now almost 10-year experience in the SEO space.
So, I'm going to give you things that are S tier, meaning that they're things you should invest a lot of time and effort in when you like starting your SEO campaigns. And SEO also, we can apply this to, uh, GEO or however you want to call it, like generative engine optimization or AEO, uh, AI engine optimization. Whichever term you want to use, I think they're all BS. But regardless, let's say this, this is the tier list to optimize your site to rank both on the classic search engines like Google and Bing, and to be cited or mentioned in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok.
And so, let's break it down. I won't do this in any particular order. I'll just do it, uh, however I feel like it. But just know that this is based off of my experience. And if you're seeing success with something that I put in the D tier, maybe you're doing the right thing, right? Some things that I see success with, other people don't. And the other way around.
Now, let's start, I guess, with the, um, a classic one, right? One of the most important things and one of the things that I attribute the most to the success of my SEO campaigns and GEO campaigns, which are backlinks. Now, not every kind of backlink, by the way. These two in specific: PR, right? Press releases and niche edits. Okay? These, like, and I know you guys, I've said this enough, right? A lot of you guys know you need backlinks, right? Because links are a crucial part of SEO, right? But not a lot of you guys do them. I think because maybe you're afraid of building them. You think it's a black hat strategy, and it can be, but most times if you build backlinks the proper way, the way I teach you how to build in this channel, you won't be penalized. I, in almost 10 years of SEO, never had a site penalized because of backlinks. The site penalized overall. Okay.
Now, if you want a little bit more about what these are, I'll give you some tips. Go to youtube.com, search up Vasco SEO tips, right? And then just on the YouTube search bar of my channel, type in, click here, type in PR, and then watch this right here. It's a 15-minute long video teaching you step by step exactly what will be submitted on.
"Welcome. So, I'm going to show you how to right here like Bar Chart, Bazinga, uh, AP News, and like a bunch of these authority publications. Google. This is key. Like building PR, press releases are good for brand attention and also building links because like Fox, CNN, uh, SBC, Huffington Post, Forbes, these are all brands that are trusted in Google's eyes. So what do you think happens when all these link back to you? Well, they Google will think you are also an authority publication. So building PR is one of the best ways to build brand trust, increase your domain metrics. Even though like if you're looking at Ahrefs, some of your domain metrics like DR, uh, domain rating, these are can easily be manipulated. I wouldn't blindly trust them, but there's some truth to them. There's some correlation to them. Point being that building backlinks, PR, um, and also niche edits, which what these are, basically is, I have videos on this. Go to my channel and just type in, uh, let's just do backlinks. Oh, you watch this right here. And this right here teaches you how to build backlinks. By the way, which by the way, these backlinks, the niche edit backlinks are the exact same backlinks if you pay me to build them. If you go here, purchase backlinks on Arvo.com, and I have here a bunch of results from people who, uh, I build these backlinks to. If you were to pay me, I'll charge you $450 for three backlinks. And you can just learn how to build them for free on the videos that I just showed you. Okay?
Point being is that these backlinks work. Niche edits work. And what they are is a niche edit. It's different from a guest post. A niche edit is you find an old, uh, piece of content, an article, whatever, on someone's site, okay? And you go out and edit, right? Niche edit, niche, because it's the ideal backlink should be niche, right? If this, if your brand is about, if you sell, um, pens, right? You don't want you necessarily don't want the backlink from a site that talks about dogs. Okay? It's not really relevant. Okay? The ideal backlink is one that's both relevant and powerful. Okay? Relevancy is key and power in terms of, okay, is this domain, does this domain have actually real traffic? Where does the traffic come from? Are they bots? Are they not? Do they have eye metrics? How, how strong is their domain rating? Okay? So again, all these metrics can easily be manipulated, but they give you a sense of how powerful a backlink is. Point being is that a niche edit is where you find an old post, right? And then you go here and edit the content to link to your site. It's a niche edit. Okay? So now you have a link from an already indexed page. That's powerful. So these two types of links are very, very powerful. So PR, go watch the video that I just showed you before. You can learn how to do it. Niche edits, you can pay to do it for you, or you can just watch the videos that I just showed you as well to build them yourself. So that's the first one. S tier. Big, big, big one. And I see a lot of impact with that.
Let's go, for example, for a, let's go for D tier, which is in the same sense, which is still backlinks, uh, except PBN. And so basically, these aren't necessarily cheap backlinks. Okay? These can be expensive, but they can be trash. A lot of people try to sell like comment links and all these like forum, like all these weird links that you, you can pay hefty amounts for, but they won't move the needle at all. Now, I put PBN here as a, um, as an exception. And by the way, here also included is, for example, oh, what's called safe links. These are links that come from like Russian networks. And I think if you search for this on my YouTube, you'll find some. These are very risky to do. Now, backlinks, excuse me, PBNs can, like, you can be slapped in the face when you're building PBN. PBN stands for private blog network. It's a basically a private blog, private network of blogs of sites that you own and control. So you own all the assets and then you have them link. You make them all niche and you have them linked to your site. Now, you can go search up on my YouTube, PBN, and you'll see how to build one of these networks. The reason why it's D tier is because if you build this the wrong way, you're going to get slapped. So a lot of the backlinks, it's not just about price. You can be, you can be charged a lot for cheap type of backlinks, okay? It's about how well you can also, uh, how safe you can build them. And PBNs, yes, you can be awful. You can be slapped in the face unless you build them the right way. That's why I put them here. I, I wanted to have like this, this, uh, comparison between S and D because links can be amazing, but they can be very, very, very bad. That's why also I think a lot of people are on the fence because they don't want to build backlinks. They can risk their brand being clapped and, uh, have their site de-indexed. But if you do them how I teach them here, you won't have any issue.
Let's go, for example, for right here. Uh, B. EMD. This stands for exact match domain. This is a very popular strategy in the local SEO space where basically you go out and let's say, for example, you have a plumbing business. You've got and register a domain called, for example, um, plumber Dallas.com. Now, this might be registered already, but you get the point. Or, uh, plumbing plumbing 247.com. Right. So you basically, you put your keyword, your exact match keyword in the domain name. And EMDs, again, I put them as B, not B, excuse me, not because they're risky, but because people think they can just have an EMD and rank first. No, that's not true. Um, you can, the EMD is just one part of the whole SEO book, right? And if you've watched this channel in the past, you know SEO is very complex. There's three main pillars: on-page SEO, off-page SEO, which are backlinks, and technical SEO, site speed, schema markup, meta titles, meta descriptions, all that stuff. And this also is included in the technical SEO. But just because you have an EMD, if you lack all these, right? Well, you still won't rank first, right? This isn't the default. Again, it's easier when you have an EMD. It's easier to rank first because, I mean, people are searching for plumber Dallas, 24/7 plumber in Dallas, right? If your keyword is in your domain, it, it's been seen over and over again that this makes you easier to rank. Even so that even local businesses, even on Google Maps, what people usually do, not usually, people do is this is the maps, right? This is the map listings. A lot of them call their business, right, the exact match keyword. Let me show you an example. If I just type in Dallas plumber, for example, right? I'm sure if I go into maps, right, uh, for example, this right here, this is against Google's terms of service, right? Their business name is just this, right? It's not this stuff right here, but they put here Dallas Emerging Plumbers because they know that having the keyword here, not only is a, not only if people search for this, they they look at the keyword they search for, so they're more likely to click and call this one, but because it helps them rank higher, having the exact match keyword on the, um, on the, the, the title, this, this right here, I, I can almost assure you this business name isn't named this, right? Something else. But they put it here. And this, having it right here, having it on, in the domain, all these little things help in increase your likelihood of ranking first. So if you were to go against me, everything is equal. Same backlink, same content, same whatever, right? If I had an EMD, I'll most likely outrank you just because of this extra relevancy right here. Now, again, it's B because it does work, but if you don't know what, don't know what you're doing, it won't really do much for you. So that's that.
If you want some, some courses on local SEO, check the description. And I'll leave them down below as well. Or you can just go to, uh, Arvo.com/academy and you get all my, uh, lifetime access to all my SEO courses with regular updates, a private community where we do weekly live calls, access to my AI SEO tool, which is this right here, which is a bunch of stuff. I won't bore you with this right now, but this tool is responsible for, if you just go here to Arvo.com/case-studies, responsible for a bunch of these cool case studies where this guy took his site from zero to 10k a month, zero to 5k a month. There's all of these case studies right here, which by the way, this guy also took his site after this right here. He took it from 10K to 30K in the next 12 hours. So, you get access to this tool for free, included right here. Also, you get access to a one-on-one call, uh, excuse me, one-on-one consulting call with myself. So, we just hop on right here on a Zoom call. I'll go over, um, some your stuff, what you're doing, what I think you should be doing in terms of your SEO, your GEO, and we'll just shoot the, and hopefully I can help you out on a one-to-one basis. And this is new, by the way. You get a one DR40 backlink built by me. This is actually going to be a niche edit, um, or a guest post. I'll have to see depending on what your niche is. So, I'll build you one of these backlinks right here, a niche edit. So, it's free. And as you saw before, I charge $450 for these, for free. So, you get it included in the price. And that's basically it. You can just scroll down, you can see testimonials, you can see the results, and you can also see what's included in all this stuff right here. So that's if you want to learn a bit more about my, my SEO knowledge, get access to myself on calls, on weekly calls, on one-on-one calls, uh, and just, yeah, learn more a bit more about SEO and see if you can push your organic reach with SEO and see if you can rank on Google, rank on Bing, and be mentioned and cited more on GPT.
Now let's go for example for another, let's go for, yeah, let's do another B tier, for example. Um, the is content repurposing. Now again, this is B because if you know how to do it, it's going to be pretty good. Now, I guess I'll give you an example of a guy who did this perfectly. I go here to, uh, case studies. He's a French guy. He owns a marketing agency. Uh, and he, yeah, there you go. He grew his traffic from to to almost 6K a month just off of taking a bunch of YouTube videos. Okay? YouTube videos that were, uh, recorded in English, okay? He took them, he converted them all into blog posts, okay? A bunch of blog posts. So he converted the medium of consumption from video to written format. And on top of that, he converted them from English to French. So he converted, converted the medium of consumption but also the language and he got to 6K a month. Now, why is he B tier? Well, because I'm not saying that if you do this, if you just go here or any tool you want to use, but if you get my courses, you get access to this for free. Am I saying that if you just go here, place YouTube video URL and convert it into a blog post and then set up an automatic blog that automatically just takes videos from YouTube, writes articles and publishes to your site? Am I, am I saying that you're going to get 260k a month? Well, most likely not, depending on the niche you you choose. So, a lot of the stuff that's right here, I mean, this can work for a lot of you guys, but it can also not work because you, you're choosing the wrong niche, right? You're going for niches that are too competitive. Okay? Content repurposing can work very well. I suggest that if you do it, I'd bump this up to an A tier because if you do it on niches that are not very crowded and if you do it internationally, if you translate the content into like Portuguese, uh, French, Portuguese, which by the way, again, not trying to sell the tool, but this right here does that, uh, automatically. I think this is, uh, Mandarin, not sure. Um, you can capture parts of the market that, yes, there was a video made on this, but nobody wrote an article about this. And people some people prefer to read than to view than to watch. So, reason why again, this is B is because again, I, I'll bump it up to A is because you can make it A if you choose the right niche and if you go internationally because this would just drop the competition so much more. And you'd be surprised of how much money there is in the non-English speaking markets. Okay? And this tool allows you to do this in any language you want.
So, moving on, let's do, uh, A tier. Why not? A tier, we have BFU content. Now, what does this mean? This stands for bottom of the funnel content. Now, I'll give you an example I give all the time, which is let's say I own an iPhone repair shop. Okay? People, they come into my website, right? And then they come into my store for me to repair their phones. Now, my site could be ranking for keywords like, um, how to repair an iPhone. But it could also be ranking for keywords like where to repair an iPhone or, uh, how much does it cost to repair an iPhone? Okay? Now, the keyword "how" let's say has 10,000 searches a month. And the sum of these two keywords, "where" and "how much," only have like 1,000 searches a month. Okay? Now, you think that maybe it's be smarter to rank for this keyword, more searches, more people coming in. Thing is that the buying intent from someone searching for "how" is much lower than the buying intent from someone searching for "where" or "how much." Like, someone searching for "where" or "how much" most likely they want to pay someone to do it for them. While someone searching for "how," most likely they want to do it themselves. Okay? So, this is BFU, excuse me, this is Tofu, top of the funnel content, while this is BFU, bottom of the funnel content. Okay? And I think added this right here as well. Right here in B. And I didn't add it in D because I'll explain to why in a second. Right here, it's because, yeah, BFU is much more valuable. Of course, it's bottom of the funnel. It's what converts, right? There's much more high buying intent from these guys than these guys. Okay? So, you want to get these people. You want to get the buyers in because traffic is a vanity metric. You can have a million people visit your site every single month, but if no one buys, well, this means this is equal to zero right here. Okay? So, you'd much rather have maybe 10 people and all of them bought like a 1K product, and you make 10K a month. Okay? So, it's all about the intent, the buying intent, and the buying intent, right? Buying intent. So, if you're doing, uh, bottom level funnel content, the buying intent is much higher than if you're doing top of funnel content. Now, of course, reason why I put this here and not here is because you can convert some of these people. Let's say someone's searching for "how," right? They go to your site, right? And you have like this amazing guide with five steps to repair your iPhone. Step one, boom. Step two, with a video, with step-by-step images that you took with like little arrows and here, go here, do this, do that. An amazing guide. And at the end, you say, "Hey, listen. If you reach the end, either you've successfully repaired your iPhone or you failed. If you failed, come to our shop. We'll do it at a 10% discount because you just tried." So, you can have, you can sort of funnel the people, right? It's literally a funnel, right? Where it starts from Tofu content right here until BFU, right? You can funnel some of these people. So, uh, Tofu content isn't necessarily worthless, worse, excuse me, because it can lead to a sale, but it's less valuable than both content, the bottom one. Okay? So, when you're producing content, whether you're using AI or not, whether you're using my AI or any other AI, know that Bofu content is more valuable than Tofu content. Know that your strategy is set up when you're producing content. Okay? Because by the way, content is a crucial part of SEO. Okay? Again, going here to the three pillars, on-page, this is all about content. What you write, how you're writing, the keywords you target, the way it's written, the, the way you sprinkle your keywords on the page, all the stuff.
Okay, then let's go here before we go to S tier. Let's do C tier. Directory submissions. This is very popular in the local SEO space to get your site ranked higher on GMBB and on Google Maps. I, I don't, I think this can do something, but I think people put a lot too much effort into this when they should be putting effort into a lot of other stuff. And by the way, included in the academy, there's an, uh, a course that goes over local SEO. If you scroll down, down here, hopefully I can find it. Right here, uh, where is it? Local SEO course, which includes a bunch of this stuff. And goes over the stuff that you actually should be focusing on because, yes, this can help, but most of the, the success you'll see in ranking businesses on Google Maps and ranking them higher on Google search if you're a local business won't really come from this. Okay? It will come from a bunch of other stuff. I put it in C, of course, because I think it does help, but, uh, not as close as the other stuff. Okay.
And, uh, I guess let's go for this one as well. C. Um, cheap links. Now, I put it at C because, uh, again, I put this here, backlinks, and I, I mentioned these could be expensive and it could be trash. But cheap links on the other hand, they could also be down here, right? I guess it could be here in the middle. Uh, but sometimes cheap links can be good. And, uh, I mean, you'll find tons of these on, on Fiverr. You just go to fiverr.com. This is the holy grail of people selling, uh, cheap, uh, shitty or not backlinks. Sometimes you can find, um, some diamonds in the rough here. But, uh, a lot of people sell links for like $10, $5. So most of this is BS. Um, but for certain niches and if you're trying to do some specific type of SEO, I guess this could be a video on its own. Uh, some of these can be good. Um, so know that if you can find some of these people because a lot of times people overcharge for stuff. People just buy links here and they, like these big agencies, they just buy links on Fiverr and sell it for you for like a 10x markup, right? So you can find some good sellers here, but most of this is trash. That being said, even if it's trash, excuse me, even if it's cheap, right, which is a good thing, you can use these links for a lot of testing. Like way back when, when I was testing stuff, when I, because SEO is about testing, right? I put up a page, I build links to it, I see what works. I see how this, how my backlink, my backlink profile compares, stacks against the competition. I see if I build 10 links, how does this impact these certain keywords, right? These cheap links are a great playground for testing. Okay? Like these right here that I was telling you about, these right here take a lot of effort and time to build. That's why I, I charge highly for them. That's why they're the tutorials on how to build them are like one hour long because they take time. And this, like testing with these links isn't a particularly good idea. Testing with cheap links can be a good idea and it's something I did way back when when I was getting started because it's cheap. You can test and you can see what happens. Now, granted, it is C because you have to build a lot of them to see any actual results.
Now, D. Well, we have AI spam content or not AI. Meaning that a lot of people think that AI is the only thing that can spam. No, like before AI, humans spammed. And the thing is, yes, AI can write very bad quality content, but so can humans, right? It's not about who or what is writing the content. It's not about if it's a human, a dog, or a robot. It's about what's being written. Okay? And I have a bunch of proof to show you. And I, I mean, all these right here, all these case studies right here, these are from people who used AI content in specific, our software, Arvo. That being said, you can use anything you want, right? My point is that you can see right here, these guys grew from, they started with using the software around here. Look, look at the insane growth from less than a K a month to 6K a month in traffic. Worth, by the way, $11,000 a month. Meaning that if you, if you were a competitor of theirs, right? And if you wanted to have this much traffic per month, right, on Google, you'd have to pay Google Ads. You have to pay Google Ads a thou $11,000 a month to get this traffic, meaning that this is high-qualified traffic. Okay? For example, right here, uh, let's see another example. These guys get more traffic, but it's less valuable. So again, my point before that traffic can be a vanity metric because they could have a million a month in traffic, but it could be making $0, right? Again, these have 22,000, these have only 6K, but the traffic is way much more valuable because they rank for more high-valuable keywords, for higher buying intent keywords, most likely. And this is all, like this growth. This is all, and I have case studies on this. You can check the YouTube channel or you can just go to right here to case studies to check them all. I'm quite transparent about what people achieve with our software. This is done with AI, right? Yes, our software helps with the speed and the accuracy and the fact that it's good content and it follows the best practices and that has a bunch of case studies to back it up. But AI in general can be a good thing. Now, granted, of course, AI can write bad quality content, right? But so can humans. It's about if, if the content satisfies the user's search, the user's search intent, excuse me. Well, Google doesn't care who wrote, who or what writes the content. Neither, neither do you, right? If, if you can search for something, you have the reply, you don't care if it's AI, you care if it's correct, right? AI is able to produce correct content. We have a bunch of case studies like it up from growth spikes from all these different industries all across the board. And, uh, you can, you can just see the growths are insane. These guys, pretty cool. They started right here and they just grew to 24K in, uh, two or no, in four or six months. It's pretty cool. And mostly from, uh, from international markets, which is pretty cool to see. And these guys are mostly from the US. And you have a bunch more. Or you can watch the case studies on, on the YouTube channel or on the, the case studies page if you'd like. I don't hide a single thing. My point here is that I put it here in, in, in D because, yeah, AI spam content won't rank, but so like so does human spam content. But good AI content ranks, as you saw by the proof here. Um, and good human content ranks as well. So I put it here, but I, I, it could also be like right here up top. Literally could be here up top. And I, maybe I should have put it here because I own this tool. This will produce AI-based content and there's a bunch more stuff. So I could be biased and put it right here, but I felt like it was interesting to put it here so you can understand that, yes, you can use the tools to produce shit content, right? If you have like a wrench, you have to know how to use a wrench. You have to know how to use the actual tool, right? If not, well, doesn't work, right? Hopefully that, that analogy made sense.
And I guess, um, last one here in the, the S tier, we have schema. Schema markup. This is pretty cool and I don't think people use it enough. Let me show you here a couple of, of examples. So, I, I always show you this one. Dallas plumber, right? I'll show you this one as well. This right here, this little stars right here are done with schema markup. Schema markup. And you can watch, I, I'll throw here a video on the channel which you can watch. I'll leave it in the description on how to get this stuff. Schema is just basically little snippet of code that can give you this stuff right here or give you stuff. For example, like this right here. These are ads. Yeah. But you can also have these images show up just by adding schema. So you can have an organic result with stars plus an image. And look at how much more this stands out. If these guys are ranking first, right? You're ranking second, but you, you have so much more real estate because this makes more pixels on a page. You have this right here that not a lot of people have. Then on top of that, image right here. So schema allows you to do this stuff. Uh, other, other parts of schema are, for example, uh, can dogs eat strawberries? These right here, these guys show up right here. This, this is FAQ schema, frequently asked question schema, schema. This is up here because these guys right here have FAQ schema on their page. Okay? So, schema allows you to have all these little extra features on your site. And by the way, I teach you all this schema stuff inside the academy. And if you have any questions, you can just hop on with me and we, one-on-one consulting call or on the weekly live calls. Don't forget we have those as, as well, uh, right, uh, here, right? Weekly and one-on-one. Um, but, um, it's very important. And by the way, you can use my tool for that as well. If you go to set optimizers, it, uh, helps you with these two types of schema: FAQ schema and article schema. And it'll help you with many more in, in the future. Now, let me just show you, um, what I meant by that. Get tools. I'll show you what the schema is in action. If I just open this up right here, uh, view page source. I'll show you what the schema is. Little, again, little rating. There you go. It says right here. This is the schema code. Okay. Boom. It's all you have to paste on your site. Okay. It looks like it's technical, but it isn't. It's quite easy. And this gives you stuff like you just saw before, like these little, uh, stars right here. It's pretty easy. And again, it's an easy win that not a lot of people do because they feel like it's technical, and it is somewhat technical, but the ROI is immense, right? Easy to do. Not a lot of people do it. It just gives you a ton of like extra real estate and diversity, and you look unique on, on the pages, so you get more clicks.
And so that's it. That's my SEO tier list. Let me know. I'm actually curious. You think you guys think I missed something? Let me know in the comments. Or if you think that there are some of the stuff that I put down here that you've seen great success with. I mean, I've seen great success with PBNs and great success with AI spam content. Uh, but I mean, maybe you haven't. And not, sorry, not spam content, AI content as, as a whole. So, let me know in the comments if I missed anything. If you guys think I should talk about anything else. And, um, if you could just do me a huge favor, favor in writing in the comments, "SEO tier list," that would be amazing to help me have YouTube push this video out to more people, help the algorithm push it out to more people. So, if you do me a huge favor again and comment the words "SEO tier list," that would be pretty cool. Check the academy. It's going to be the very first link in the description. You get access to all my SEO courses, weekly live SEO calls, uh, one-on-one consulting call with myself, a 1x DR40 plus backlink built by me manually, and of course, access to my little software right here, the one you saw, uh, for a full month for free. So, yeah, that's it. Thank you so much. Like, subscribe, comment the words, uh, "SEO tier list," and I'll catch you on the next one. Cheers.
