Lawrence: ‘Immoral’ is Donald Trump’s brand, and his chief of staff just proved it

I was not here last night because I couldn't bring myself to talk on TV about the murders of my friends Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle, and I couldn't talk about anything else on TV. And so Ali Veli stepped in and allowed me to turn off the news of the world for a day.

I might have something to say at some point about the wonderful experiences I had at Robin Michelle's home, which is now a crime scene, but right now I still don't have the mental or emotional clarity to form even a single sentence about that.

Of course, Donald Trump was eager to say something about Rob, and what Donald Trump put in writing shocked even some Trump supporters. It will be the thing historians find to reach their conclusive verdicts on the the depths of Donald Trump's depravity, Donald Trump's perversion, Donald Trump's poisonous hatefueled life. I will not and cannot read Donald Trump's deranged words about Rob. Most of you already know what he said.

Republican Congressman Don Bacon had this reaction to what Donald Trump said about Rob Reiner. "I'd expect to hear something like this from a drunk guy at a bar, not the president of the United States." Can the president be presidential? No, he cannot. Donald Trump has never had a presidential moment and never will. Donald Trump doesn't know what it means to be presidential.

And drunk guy at a bar is how Donald Trump's current White House chief of staff described him in a series of interviews with Chris Whipple, who literally wrote the book about White House chiefs of staff titled The Gatekeepers, the drunk guy at the bar who doesn't drink. Susie Wilds is Donald Trump's fifth White House chief of staff. He went through four of them in his first four years in the White House. Donald Trump's first White House chief of staff lasted six months. Susie Wilds has outlasted Rance Priebus, Donald Trump's first White House chief of staff. But that does not make her better than any of the other Trump White House chiefs of staff, including the one who ended up getting indicted for his work in the White House in Georgia and Arizona.

The Vice President of the United States, James David Vance, explained to Chris Whipple why Susie Wilds is the worst White House chief of staff ever. "quote, there is this idea that people have had have that I think was very common in the first administration that their objective was to control the president or influence the president or even manipulate the president because they had to in order to serve the national interest. Susie just takes the diametrically opposite viewpoint, which is that she's a facilitator, that the American people have elected Donald Trump and that her job is to actually facilitate his vision and to make his vision come to life." That is a perfect description of why Susie Wilds is the worst White House chief of staff ever. The other four Trump White House chiefs of staff are the other four worst White House chief of staffs in history. But they all the other ones to varying degrees at some point tried to steer Donald Trump away from some of his worst instincts.

Donald Trump's second term in the White House is far more cruel and inhumane than anything Donald Trump did in his first four years in the White House. And according to JD Vance, we have Susie Wilds to thank for that because she does not believe she should quote serve the national interest. She believes her job is to make Donald Trump's deeply perverse vision come to life every day. and she is choosing to do that for someone who she says has an alcoholic's personality. Susie Wild's breathtaking incompetence has been on display every day of the Trump administration, but she goes to a new level of incompetence in statements that she made to to Chris Whipple on tape that she cannot now refute and are the most harmful things ever said publicly about a president by that president's White House chief of staff.

Here is Susie Wilds explaining how Donald Trump has matured. Remember, she's trying to compliment him. Now, she's explaining how a 79-year-old man is now behaving better than he did at 74. She said, "I've not seen him throw anything. I've not seen him scream. I didn't see that really horrible behavior that people talk about and that I actually experienced years ago." So, there she is. ascribing horrible behavior to Donald Trump that she has seen. Imagine being so dim that you think you can say something like that to a reporter who's taking notes and recording what you're saying and he's going to publish it.

She said Trump has an alcoholics personality. He operates with a view that there's nothing he can't do nothing. Zero nothing. And Susie Wilds believes her job is to encourage that alcoholic personality, enable that alcoholic personality. She never mentions laws to Donald Trump that he might be violating. Donald Trump famously doesn't drink, so he doesn't have booze to use as an excuse for his madness.

And today, Donald Trump defended Susie Wild's description of him as an alcoholic personality. He told the New York Post, "No, she meant that I'm, you see, I don't drink alcohol." So, everybody knows that, but I've often said that if I did, I'd have a very good chance of being an alcoholic. I have said that many times about myself. I do. It's a very possessive personality.

Donald Trump is constantly mixing up words as he approaches his 80th birthday in apparent neurological decline. And this time he seemed to confuse the words possessive and addictive. He told the post, "I've said that many times about myself. I'm fortunate. I'm not a drinker. If I did, I could very well because I've said that, what's the word? Not possessive, possessive and addictive type personality." Oh, I've said it many times, many times before. That is Donald Trump's pathetic attempt to do damage control on that description of his alcoholics's personality.

Donald Trump knows that Chris Whipple's reporting is very harmful to him, which is why he told the New York Post he didn't read it and said, "I think from what I hear, the facts were wrong and it was a very misguided interviewer, purposely misguided." Not a single fact has been disputed in Chris Whipple's reporting. And that's Donald Trump claiming that his completely incompetent White House chief of staff chose to give 11 hours of interviews over a year to someone who Donald Trump thinks is a misguided interviewer.

Susie Wilds exhibits complete ignorance of economics almost equal to Donald Trump's. She did not resist Donald Trump's march to ordering illegal and unconstitutional tariffs that have spiked inflation in this country because every Trump tariff is actually paid by an American. She never even attempted to get Donald Trump to stop lying about saying China will pay the Trump tariffs. But she did say this about Donald Trump's tariffs. Quote, "It's been more painful than I expected." It has not been more painful than every economist expected. It has not been more painful than anyone who ever finished a first-year economics course expected.

She completely contradicted Donald Trump about Donald Trump's publicly stated reasons for killing people in small boats thousands of miles from the United States off the coast of Venezuela. S Suzie Wild said, quote, "He wants to keep on blowing boats up until Maduro cries uncle and people way smarter than me on that say that he will." It would be nice to think there are people way smarter than Susie Wilds working for Donald Trump, but there is no evidence of that. Susie Wilds says that the Trump reason for killing people in small boats is regime change, not to stop drug trafficking as Donald Trump has claimed.

Of course, it is impossible to stop drug trafficking by randomly shooting at small boats that might or might not be carrying cocaine, which is not one of the real killer drugs that makes it to the United States, like fentinyl. That's the most deadly illicit drug in America. Fentinel. And tonight, Donald Trump announced that he intends to impose a naval blockade on oil tankers in and around Venezuela. So now it's about oil and not about drugs.

Susie Wild said that JD Vance's conversion from someone who used to compare Donald Trump to Hitler to a Trump worshipper was quote sort of political. He's an avowed ketamine user is how Susie Wilds explained Elon Musk's depraved destruction of the United States Agency for International Development. Quote, "I was initially a gasast," Wilds told me, "because I think anybody that pays attention to government and has ever paid attention to USAD believed, as I did, that they do very good work." Yes, they do. Life-saving work. Yes, they did. They did very good work. They were saving lives every day. And now thousands of people are dying because Susie Wilds just watched as Elon Musk did whatever he wanted to do. "Not the way I would do it," is what she said about Musk's crushing USID.

What did Donald Trump know about the United States Agency for International Development? Susie Wild said the president doesn't know and never will. He doesn't know the details of these smalish agencies. Donald Trump doesn't know and never will know what USAD was doing before he destroyed it. He does not know that USAD was saving lives by the thousands. Bill Gates described what Elon Musk did to USAD as the world's richest man killing the world's poorest children. and Susie Wilds helped Elon Musk in, as Bill Gates put it, killing the world's poorest children.

One unnamed former Republican White House chief of staff told Chris Whipple, "I find that immoral." Immoral is what they do. Immoral is Donald Trump's brand. And Susie Wilds believes that her job is not to serve the national interest. She believes her job is to serve Donald Trump, no matter how sick and perverse Donald Trump's desires are. I find that immoral.
