Hello and welcome back to Rage Gaming and more Monsson Wilds. With this, we're all farming Gogg and of course, we're working on our Gogma Artion meta. Today, I want to talk about like what is a perfect Gogma Artion initially, but also what's more than good enough really for the many resources you're going to need, what are the minmax strategies and options, and what's the best way to well make the resources you have go a lot further. So, we're going to cover that and all in this video. Let's begin.
Let's begin with an important first topic. What is your new perfect Gogma Artan weapon? Most Artan weapons are going to fall into a simple category. Take these jewel blades, your familiar meta. We have weapons that have say one sharpness boost and then four of one kind of damage boost, whether that's attack boost or the element boost is the other option. This is very common for most weapons. So, when you're reinforcing it, that's all you're doing. You're taking that ideal option and just rolling it with better numbers. So in this case, we have attack boost EX bringing us to 12 raw instead of five per line and then attack boost three bringing us to nine rather than five. And the sharpness boost goes from plus 30 to 50. So you're taking what was already meta and just making it better.
But what's actually possible here? Well, it looks like this. Cotton landed the perfect kind of roll on his hammer where he has two EX on his main damage boost. So that's attack boost in this case instead of element boost. one EX on the sharpness and then level three for the remaining two lines which in this case for attack boost. So he has two EX on attack to level three on the remaining attack boost and then the final EX on sharpness. So you're looking at three EX and then the remaining two lines are level three.
To be fair, there is some consideration to be done for the affinity drop you'd be taking when you're going for say the attack boost weapons. So let's just take an attack boost here and show what I'm talking about. If we go for attack boost, we are indeed losing a couple things here like 15% affinity in the attack focus version. The affinity focus version, you lose some element, you lose some raw where the element, you lose some affinity and less than the others. So, it's quite nice. But for a lot of us, the attack focus will be the way, which means you're taking this affinity loss. Should we be concerned about getting an affinity boost line here to offset that? Well, so far we found with say the great saw build, that's just not better mathematically. You're able to address your affinity through your equipment through decorations. That's what we found initially, but keep in mind it's very early days for a new system and we're working it out currently. We'll be dropping our usual build guides for the weapons that we cover, including our reasoning and math when we get to it.
But that's just the reinforced side of this. Obviously, there's another important aspect that is the active skills, the set bonus, and the group bonus that you can get on the weapon. Now, there are some awesome bonuses we can get here. But the fact that you can get Lord Soul here as a group skill is kind of fantastic, giving us a way to reach Gut's tenacity without fully committing to the armor pieces required. On the other hand, you've got your set bonuses, which massively depend on the weapon and your focus for it. Both, you know, weapon and build specific. But of course, there are like more than good enough options and that falls into a wider category. For the bonuses and group skills, it can be anything that has an impact that's actually going to be active in your gameplay. But that is more awkward because you still have to build your sets around it. But things like Gor's two-step bonus is a major one coming up because it's going to allow us to activate the frenzy and lean into antivirus for the decorations without as much commitment to the Gore armor. I've got one example here, which is Fury. This is the very popular Azure Bolt, which at level one, we're going to get some affinity. We're going to be dealing bursts of thunder damage, which is really nice. Letting us just use say one piece of legac now to achieve that. That's good potential. We're also interested in things like burst boost from ebony odo or razor's edge from serios for longer adrenaline. So yeah, build guys come in for that. There's a lot of potential, but anything that actually triggers and is doing something beneficial for you is good enough at this moment.
When it comes to good enough for say your reinforces, it's pretty straightforward. Let's say you have a weapon that has three or ideally four at least of the rolls that you're looking for. So let's say it's got three attack boost, one sharpness, and something else, affinity, whatever. Then you're of course good to upgrade to a Gogma weapon. You just go for the EX rolls on the things you care about. So one on the one sharpness, two on the attack boost or element boost, and then the remaining two lines can be level threes of whatever. Maybe one of those again is affinity instead of like an ideal role. Well, it's still going to be useful to the build and have a purpose. Maybe it's not like literally the best possible thing, but it's by no means bad. So, upgrading to a Gogma weapon initially and having say three EXs and two level threes off the back of that, that's at least something to aim for and is an early achievable goal.
Now, for the resources to continuously roll and try to achieve these goals, you're going to need specific kinds of materials. And there's two main options. When we're going for reinforcement, you have say the very efficient light oes, but you can indeed use some GOG parts such as the rampart and forsel which are pretty common as well as the oil, also reasonably common. And yes, technically the gem, but we want to use these for other purposes generally. Super efficient though is the oracal because you only need 20 to reach the perfect number. The other end of this is when you're r-rolling the active skills. This requires the mutated augment parts, the [ __ ] devices that you get from Gog specifically, and by breaking the marked blue zones on his body, getting more when you do that. So, we'll cover that in a moment. Let's focus on your two options then, the ore or the GOG materials, starting with the ore.
What's the best way to get this ore? Well, it's of course go to the foundry and turn your monster parts into this ore. Different monsters have different values for this trade and they've actually improved the trading in general with the foundry, which is nice. The higher tier monster and the rarer the parts, the more point value they have. So, if you're going to be farming this method, you're going to want monster parts and as many parts as possible. For that, I do as usual recommend the ISU meal, the fee specifically, because it gives you the carva meal, allowing you to carve an additional one or two times. If you cut off a tail, this means you get to carve the body and the tail, and it both triggers carve a meal, giving you a lot of extra materials in the hunt. Plus, some monsters have parts that you'll be breaking and getting extra materials, like Gogg. For example, when you break, say, a wing arm, you get a part. When you break the chest, you get a part, the back a part, the head a part. So, it's something you do want to try to make happen.
Now, who you going to target basically compares the time to kill to the value of parts received. So, a classic and still reliable option for this remains serios and of course legacy time to kill versus their high value parts. You can of course run these as general investigations like this one, but I would specifically target them in the wounded hollow where possible. That's because you get these hunts done faster on average because the monster never actually leaves the fight. So, where possible, do go for that in the arena. The higher tier monster, the better. But, you know, there's a new very reliable option in this update. new optional quests of these trio tempered monsters in one hunt. And the one that I want to highlight specifically is Serenade of Scarlet Water, the one in the Scarlet Forest. This has Mizu, Legacrris, and Orthuna. So, you got an Apex and two high tier monsters for valuable parts. This is a special hunt though, so you get a whopping 100k for the reward and special parts at the end. literally giving you the ore that we're looking for, the most valuable one, the Oracle in specific. You get like this absolute pile of them at the end. Any ninestar quest, you actually get that as a reward, but for these specific ones, it was like a surprising big pile. So, for this, it's a fantastic target and method for sure. I will say that sadly, Omega isn't a great target. The time to kill is simply way too long for the increased points of the target.
But, I think most of us are just going to target GOG anyway. With Gog, we want to farm him for the purpose of Gogma Artion. He's the big target we're going to run into a ton anyway. Once you've crafted the armor pieces that you actually care about, his monster materials can then just become or conversion. But don't forget, some of these Gogma parts you're getting can specifically be used directly anyway. So for the rampart, the fortalice, and the oil, I wouldn't actually turn these into the ore since you can use them directly. So by hunting GOG, you're getting materials that are high value that you can turn into ore. You're getting materials from the rampart fertilizer oil that can just be used directly in the reinforcing anyway. You'll be getting the tar devices for say r-rolling your active skills which you'll definitely need and will be the longerterm grind for sure. And even better, you can use those tar devices to make ore on top if you for some reason have a load of them. So overall, go is just the ideal target because it's really efficient cuz you're hitting so many different things at once. For the whole GOG fight, you'll be hitting the head, wing, arms, and of course, cutting off the tail in phase three. It'll just be a question of are you taking the time to clean up the markings as well. And since we do want those mutant augments for all these purposes, you will be doing that. So, we'll get into that minmax in a moment.
Now, as I've also mentioned, you do just get this ore from doing nine-star quests in smaller numbers than say the trio special hunt. But, of course, you've also got festival shares where we're getting this ore we can use. The longer you go, the better. And if you're rest spamming and doing the festival spawn, then this comes up more often. You can claim it more often. There are also some that you can get from doing weekly bounties. That's obviously not something you can do all the time, but it's good to know. Say, this is really easy. One tempered monster, rank fivestar or higher, and I get five of it. You can also do some trading, which is another unreliable thing. You've got gaudy goggy coins for different things, and it's not always available, as you can see, but you can trade for all this way as well. But basically, these are topups. The main juice comes from farming highv value monsters, turning their parts into ore from the foundry. And the most efficient one is Gog.
So, let's talk about that. For the Gogg fight, you kill him and you get parts. You carve him, you get parts. You break parts during the hunt, you get more materials and more parts. And he has the special mark locations for even more mutated augments. So, we want to maximize this as much as possible by breaking all these parts that are reasonable. breaking all the blue markings that are reasonable and getting extra materials from the hunt like extra calves from the Azos feast meal as we showed. On that note, then you might want to consider some sort of farming GOG setup. I've got like a scuff one right now, but just as an example, I've dropped some effective raw so that I can run at least two part breaker. Part breaker is going to increase the part damage and damage dealt when conditions are met by 10, 20%, 30%. But in no plain terms, it makes it easier to break large monster parts, and you want to do that for Gogg specifically. The breakable parts that you want to be thinking about are say the head for the fertilizer. You get shredders from the wing arms. You get the lacerator from both the chest and the back, which is a bit harder, and obviously the tail from the tail itself. The mutated armaments, these will commonly come from the special blue marking locations that when you break, they drop. So yes, by running part breaker, you make it easier to cause this. And since that's what we're really focused on right now, I do recommend dropping some effective raw where possible to run part breaker.
My tip for this then is well normal. You're aiming for the wing arms as normal to get the knockdowns. You'll be on the head whenever you can. So I think you'll be breaking these normally. In phase three, you are intentional about attacking the tail. It is actually one of the few safe, reliable places to attack during phase three, which is a bit of a mess anyway. But when you get that cut, you get to carve more materials. By this point, you'll have broken a few of the markings anyway because there's some on the wing arms, there's some on the head, the neck, and the tail. So, after that, you just take the time to clean up the remaining markings with some intention, especially the harder to reach ones. Do this by using your weapon or the anti-wing guns we're picking up and firing into when it is in the air. You can use these to target the harder to reach places, especially when I'm like, say jewel blades in short range. And you just finish the fight when you're done and ready.
In regards to support hunters, there is one that I want to call out. One of the new ones actually, Griffin. Each one of them has a special yellow line like provides defense, guard against attacks while healing you and the allies often. Well, Griffin, a new one, his line is harnessing reach and high attack power. This hunter excels at breaking parts. So, if you're doing GOG, I recommend you bring him. It'll just make it easier to actually get those part breaks done. Alternatively, you could choose not to run three support hunters, but just one. And that way, you get to bring the palico. In that case, you just make sure that your palico has the plunder rang benefit. So, he's stealing extra materials throughout the hunt, but that means only one support hunter, which I'm not a massive fan of in the context of Gog. Mina does so much and he get a lot of healing and support from Nightm. I like Mina, Griffin, and Nightm.
Okay, lastly, I just want to talk about the table of Gog Artion and methods to make your materials kind of work a bit more. What is a table for Gogma crafting though? Well, let's say you have a weapon here. As soon as you have the weapon, you have this now list of RNG rolls. As you make it a Gogma weapon, you're given the table of roles. That table is say your active skills, your reinforcement bonuses. Imagine a long list of 100 possibilities. Possibility one is Fulgar Anjinath's will and Neptune's alert. Let's say the next one is a couple of other active skills. And the third one on the list, another couple. What you're aiming for might be, say, Lord Soul with the Golf Frenzy two-piece set bonus. For a lot of us, that's an obvious choice. Let's say you create a weapon, you get given your table, and you'll need to roll 56 times before you get Lord Soul and the G set bonus together. That's quite a lot. But let's say you take another art weapon and upgrade it to cog. You get given your new table and on that table it'll take 26 rolls before you hit that perfect combo. So you have to use a lot less materials to reach the thing you want on that second example. I would say they've done this as an idea to stop people rolling say once then reloading the game and then rolling again. So they're never actually using materials. They just keep reloading back to when they spent them and rolling the RNG once until they get the result they want. So instead, we have this like list you progress through which still allows save scumming, but it's a bit more effort.
So what is safe scumming for this purpose? Is it really worth it? To do it, you have two artine weapons. You just make sure that one of them is the one you care about, and the other is the dud that you'll be rolling on. The dud needs to be the same element or status setup as the one you care about. So let's say I have five jewel blades. I make sure my dud is also fire dual blades. the same base, but it doesn't need to be like a perfect RTN roll, just like the one that I care about. What we're going to do is roll the odds on the dud until we receive the result we want, whether that's the reinforced list or the skill bonuses. And every time that we roll on the dud, we count how many rolls we're on until we get the result we want. And while we're doing this, we don't save. So to start, you upgrade one art into Goggma that matches the weapon that you care about, same element and all that. And then go to the reset skills tab. Then you just keep rolling until we get the result we're happy for. Counting how many rolls this took. So in this case, I believe it was seven. Now we know that it's seven rolls before I get the thing I want. I return to the title screen without saving. Then load back in before I've spent any of my resources. We have the main one and the dud at its starting point. Then you can just roll until you hit the seventh reroll where you get the thing you care about. You could do six of these rolls on the dud and then the final successful roll on the weapon we care about and then just keep it. then you can get rid of the dud and get some materials back.
But is this worth doing? Well, it lets you test the results and find out how many rolls it's actually going to take before you get to the thing you care about. And if it's going to take too many rolls for the materials that you have, well then you can make another dud which gets a new table and then maybe you reach the thing you care about sooner, saving materials. The idea is to make the resources you have right now go a bit further, last a bit longer, achieve what you want in less Gogma materials. So, I do think it's a lot of effort to make when you're going to be fighting Gog a lot and get the materials either way for many, many roles. But because we have so much Gogma upgrading to do, like I main four different weapons and I've got different versions for each of them, it's going to be a lot of Goggma upgrading to do. Making your materials stretch now will pay off. So, it's a thing in the game. It's an option to go for if you're willing to make the effort, but obviously we wanted to talk about it.
But yeah, for now, that covers everything I want to talk about in regards to farming Gogma materials. Gogma Artion and trying to make it all happen. I hope this gives you a solid starting point and understanding of the system. And in the coming days, very shortly, look out for our build guides on all the different weapons we cover where we'll have more specifics and advice for each weapon and build.
