Hello my lovely students and friends. How are you? Welcome back. I have some exciting news for you today. An exciting announcement.
For those of you who don't know, I did conversation classes in English online for about 6 years. They were basically just phone calls, just over the phone, sometimes with video, most the time just audio on WhatsApp until I started having success as a YouTuber last year. And then I stopped doing classes because I just needed a break. I needed a break from the conversation classes. I needed to just focus on YouTube. And that's what I did. And here we are about a year later and I'm in my second year of my YouTube career. And I'm obviously still going to continue to do that. But I've been missing my conversation classes. I actually have the desire to do them again, which I didn't expect to want to so much, but I really miss talking to people, new people in different countries, and I've been thinking about it and I decided that I'm going to do it again. But in order for me to agree to do it again, there are going to be some changes. There are going to be some new rules and a new price. So, if you're interested in having conversation classes with me, you need to watch this entire video before booking a class with me so that you're prepared so that you know what to expect and you know everything that you need to know going into it.
All right, so let's get into it. I am only going to do audio calls. They are going to be phone calls, no video. Students should never ask or expect me to turn on the camera. We spend too much time looking at the screen. You need to be able to understand English on the phone. It's very easy to understand me on the phone. Students never had any problem understanding me. I speak very clearly. And it's kind of a myth that you need to look at somebody's mouth when they're talking to better understand them. In my experience learning Spanish and Portuguese, it doesn't really make a big difference looking at their mouth or not. And all these phone calls are going to happen on WhatsApp. So don't ask for another platform. We're going to use WhatsApp.
I am only going to be offering 30-minute conversation classes. I'm going to offer two different kinds of conversation classes, but they're both going to be 30 minutes. The first kind is that you get to choose the topic. You can decide what we talk about as long as it's respectful and appropriate. More about that in a second. The second option is that I choose what we talk about. Basically, I ask you questions. I guide the conversation. I'm just going to be asking you a lot of questions, a lot of questions about you and your life. Maybe I'll ask you random questions, but basically, I'm just guiding the conversation. [Music] No romance or talking about my physical appearance. If you're talking to me in a romantic way, there's a high chance I will end the class, block you, and never let you have a class with me again.
During the class, I'm going to be taking notes. I'm going to be listening to your possible mistakes so that I can correct you and give you feedback at the end of the class in the last few minutes. Not just correcting mistakes, but also explaining how you can sound more natural or things that you can improve on. So you don't need to ask me if I'm going to correct you or give you feedback because yes, I will do that at the end of the class guaranteed.
Another rule I have related to this is please don't ask me how can I improve my English. I have talked about many different ways to improve your English in many different YouTube videos and that information is all over the internet. You literally just need to use it. You need to do it. You need to study it. You need to use it. You need to practice it. You need to expose yourself to it. There's no other secret. That's it. Anything in life that you want to get better at, you just have to do it constantly, consistently, regularly. So, don't waste our time asking me that question in the class, please. And thank you.
To schedule a class with me, you're going to go to my Calendarly page. I will leave the link in the comments and in the description of this video and I will put the link on my YouTube page, my profile. You can choose any of the times that you see on my schedule. It will show you the times in your time zone and then when you schedule the class, you'll get confirmation of that. Obviously, you need to provide your phone number, your WhatsApp number so that I can call you when it's time for the class. When you book a class, you will see the description that has the information about rescheduling and refunds and everything like that. So, it's important to read the description when you schedule a class.
I'm going to set a limit on how far into the future you can schedule a class. I'm not sure exactly how many days I'm going to put it as. If you look at my schedule and you see that you can only schedule within the next 2 weeks or month, that's the reason. It's because I don't want people to schedule, you know, 3 months from now. The reason is because this is not going to last forever. This is something I'm doing right now and I don't know how long it's going to last. If you ever go to my main channel page on YouTube and you see that the link is gone, it's not there anymore. That means I'm not doing classes anymore. And that might also not be permanent. I might continue to do classes again. I might do it for a little while, take a break, come back, but I will always let you guys know in some way here on YouTube if I'm doing classes again or currently or not.
So, the last thing I need to talk about is the price. When you go on the website, you'll see the price for the 30-minute class. If you think that the price is too high, remember that I am a YouTuber with over 260,000 subscribers currently. Most YouTubers and content creators with that number would probably charge more for the same amount of time. And I'm actually starting with the lowest price that I'm willing to do, and it's only going to increase from here. This is the lowest it will ever be. It's not supposed to be obtainable for everyone. If you're looking for conversation classes with a lower price, I recommend checking out websites like italkie.com where you can find many native speaker teachers to have classes with. I don't know when I'm going to raise my price, but it will go up eventually. I also set up Calendarly so that it doesn't allow you to book more than one 30-minute session in a day. You can't book two in a day.

And really the most important thing is that it's totally normal to be nervous, especially if you don't talk in English a lot. Every student is nervous in the beginning, but then you realize that it's very easy to talk to me. And it's not actually scary once you do it. You just got to warm up to it.
