Praise the Lord, church. Welcome to the house of the Lord on a Wednesday night. We are glad that you are here and worshiping with us. If this is your first time here, you should have received a guest connect card when you came in the door. If you can please be so kind to fill that out, drop that in the offering plate as it goes by later so we can stay in contact with you, tell you about all the great things that are coming up. Or you can scan the QR code here uh and be able to do that virtually.
Uh, just a few announcements. This Friday at 2:00 is our elementary school chapel. It is their first chapel of the year. We are very excited about that. Uh, so that's up to sixth grade. So everybody up to sixth grade there. And then this Saturday at 4:00 is the uh celebration of life service for uh Jean Varnum. The viewing will be at 3:00. The service is at 4:00. And if you are able to uh help uh, you know, with food or be able to to help supply some things, please see brother Kurt. Uh, he'll be able to get you in the right direction, be able to that way you can help out with that.
Also, this Sunday, everybody say this Sunday. There's only one service that's happening at 12:00 and then we will have our lunch after that. And then there's a very, very special thing that's happening at 7:00. We're having our groundbreaking service at 7 o'clock on Sunday. We are all so excited about that. It's been a long time coming, but we're ready for it. We're ready for it. And there will be chairs provided. If you are 65 and up, there are chairs provided for you. Everybody else is welcome to bring your own chair. Uh, the service is expected to last about 30 minutes, but we'll see what happens with that. Uh, so bring your own chairs if you would like to.
And then can anybody testify that it's just so much easier when we let God be God? Life just goes so much smoother whenever we're not trying to do things on our own. We're not leaning on our own understanding, but we're allowing God to be God in our lives. Things just work out so much easier. And I'm so thankful for that because there's been many times I try to lean on my own understanding and it does not it does not work well. In Proverbs chapter 3 verse 5 and 6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your own understanding and all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths." One more. Jeremiah 17:7 says, "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and whose hope is in the Lord." And I'm so thankful that God is able to take care of any of our situations. No matter what we're going through, no matter what the pain is, no matter what the situation, the struggle is, no matter what it is, God can take care of us.
Let's go and raise our hands right now. Let's thank God for that in the name of Jesus. God, I thank you for taking care of all of our needs. God, for being there in our darkest times, for being there in our lowest times. God, I'm so thankful for you in the name of Jesus. Let's continue to worship with this youth choir. Sing the wondrous love of Jesus. Sing his mercy at great feast in the mansions bright and blessed. He'll prepare for us place.

As we are gathering together, as we are gathering together and uh getting ready to uh uh study the word of God, uh Chad, Sister Da, Sister Holly, y'all come get in place. Unless you have some grand entrance you're planning on know if you're waiting for music or what. Um, but uh I'm I this is such a wonderful time of the year and I want to take a moment and uh just kind of lay out a little bit of what's happening because there may be people uh either watching for the first time or you're here present for the first time uh and you you maybe you've never been to a service. Um, we are going to be teaching on something that we focus on uh even though we mention it throughout the year, we really focus on it at least once a year at this time. Uh, and uh we we just dig into what the word of God teaches. And so if you were to come, you know, pretty much any given Sunday or Wednesday, uh the messages you're going to be hearing is really primarily about the heart. It's about forgiveness. It's about walking in the power of the Holy Ghost. It's all of these things, being saved. But we take time uh in this in this time of the year to talk about our outward appearance. And the reason we take time to do it is because God took time to do it.
>> God took time to talk about it. And so we have talked about h how we how we dress and and jewelry and and we've talked about music and uh movies and we've talked about all of these these things that that the Bible uh gives us some direction on. And so if you are here for the first time, I just want to say that because I hope you come again and you allow the inside to get cleansed. But the Bible says, "Clean first the inside of the cup and platter that the outside may be cleaned also." Uh, so we need both. But I just want you to uh say this with me if you don't mind. Everyone say, "Pastor Jason >> Pastor Jason >> is not condemning me." >> is not condemning me. >> Everyone say, "Pastor Jason >> Pastor Jason >> is not trying to run me off." >> Everyone say, "Pastor Jason >> Pastor Jason >> is teaching." >> is teaching. And if you have that heart and let me teach you, I I I just want to encourage you. This is something my dad used to say all the time. He said, "People choke and die on a good piece of steak every day."
>> What happened was is they try to swallow it without chewing on it. >> And so don't don't don't choke and die. Chew on this word a little bit. And let's let the Holy Ghost come in here because I am here to tell you if we will understand what I what we will be talking about tonight and then I don't know where the questions may lead us all together but I believe the Holy Ghost is going to move in here tonight and if you'll get this understanding it will begin to move in your homes. So let's take a moment and pray before we get started. Lord in the name of Jesus I pray God that you will speak to each and every one of us here tonight. God, I bind every spirit that would hinder. I bind every spirit of confusion or doubt. I pray that the word of God will come alive to us. Let there be a passion in us to please you above all else. God, I pray, God, the anointing of God. Uh I know I'm dealing with the spirit world here tonight. I'm going to be dealing with things that the spirit world is paying attention to and there will be forces of darkness uh that try to come against this. Uh, I bind it right now before we ever get started. Uh, I pray that you will bring it to heal in the name of Jesus. Uh, let the truth reign supreme. Uh, and let the power of God flow in our homes. Uh, in Jesus name I pray. Uh, and everyone said amen.

>> Tonight's super exciting because it's about a woman's power and authority. >> Yes. >> And so I've been very excited to get here tonight. I'm not a feminist, but I do know that God gave women power, and I want to know how to operate in it >> 100%. So, if you will please talk to us from 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and uh explain the setup to to this chapter.
>> Okay. So, we're going to be primarily in uh Corinthians chapter 11 tonight. That's primarily where we're going to be. Uh, but there's a few things to set up. First of all, understand chapter 11 precedes 12. >> Huh? It's going to get deep tonight. I can just tell you right now. But it precedes 12,3 and 14. And if you read 1 Corinthians 12,3 and 14, you realize the power uh uh that it's referring to, speaking in tongues, walking in the spirit, all of these powerful things it's referring to in in uh 1 Corinthians 12:13 and 14. But before we get to 12, 13, and 14, it's the setup to understand how the power and the authority flows. So that's what this chapter is really dealing with is authority and headship. And you said which rightly said that we're talking about the the power that's with women, but truthfully, we're talking about the power with men. >> We're talking about the power with God. We're talking about the power of Christ. >> Yes. because all of that is handinand all of these things work together. And so we're going to get into uh uh we're going to be in first Corinthians a lot as I said. Um, and uh I don't did you all get notes up there? Good. Just want to make sure we're all on the same page. Uh, because let's just start with uh chapter 11 beginning with verse number one. Uh, let's start there.
>> Be ye followers of me even as I also am of Christ. >> Pause please. So be ye followers of me. So this is a a great setup um that I think is important to to look at is that a lot of people take the position that well you know just follow Jesus and don't do anything uh you know don't worry about anything else. Well, we are all following Jesus >> but Paul said follow me as I follow Christ. You know, we we can all have our head in the clouds and act like, "Oh, we're so spiritual." But I'm here to tell you, if you can't follow the authority that God put on earth, you won't be able to follow the authority from heaven either. How do I know that? Jesus also talked about it this way. He said, "If you can't love your brother whom you have seen, how are you going to love God whom you haven't seen?" God always connects how you handle things on earth on how you will handle things in heaven.
>> So Paul starts off with follow me as I follow Christ. So bear with me in my folly as Paul said. But there are three things that we are to get our direction and follow according to the word of God. First of all is the spirit of God. They that are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. The Bible says the spirit will lead you into all truth. So the spirit leads us. What's the next thing that leads us? The word. Uh, the thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. The word of God leads us. What's the third thing that we get our direction from? It is the man of God. The Bible talks about how can we be saved without a preacher, without a man of God preaching the word of God. So the Bible refers to three things that you need to get your direction from. And in order for it to have clarity, it needs to agree. So if a preacher is up preaching something that does not agree with the word of God, it's out of alignment and there's a problem. So what you want to find is the spirit of God, the word of God, and the man of God in alignment. And that's how you know you're following the right thing. Oh, we're going to have fun here tonight. I can already tell. Let's keep going. Verse number two. Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the ordinances as I delivered them to you.
>> The ordinances is the commandments. In a city you have the city ordinances. That's the law. So he's delivering law here. Keep going.
>> But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man and the head of Christ is God.
>> All right. And so this is what what the setup is. So the setup to this is all about headship. Everyone say headship. >> Headship. >> Everyone say authority. >> Authority. >> So the whole point here is authority. And headship. And so he starts off by first of all putting himself in a position saying listen I'm I'm the man of God. Bear with me on my folly as he said in other places but follow me as I follow Christ. Headship. He immediately is going into um in verse three here. But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ headship and the head of um the head of the woman is the man headship and the head of Christ is God. And I think it's important because you know Jesus understood the flow of authority and people can start getting upset. Well I just don't know if that that whole thing is right. Well, I mean, are you saying that that Christ, the man, Christ Jesus, should not have been under the authority of the spirit that was over him? Of course not. And he put all of these things together because they're all so powerful. Just like Christ being an authority of the spirit of God, so is every man and woman when we are in right authority with God and in right order with God. And so that's really what we are talking about about headship. Uh, I I want to get away real quick about from first Corinthians and I'm going to come right back to it, but just to show you how God looks at how Jesus looked at authority and understood it and how others understood it as well. So go to Matthew chapter 8 beginning with verse number eight, please.
>> The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that thou should us come under my roof, but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed." >> Amen. For I am a man under authority. >> See, he's starting talking about authority. Go ahead. >> Having soldiers under me. And I said to this man, "Go," and he goeth, and to another, "Come," and he cometh. And to my servant, "Do this," and he doeth it.
>> Pause for a minute. But look at both sides of it. He starts off with saying, "I am," he didn't start off with saying, "I am a man of authority." >> He starts off with, "I am a man under authority." And so what he is saying now is because I am under authority. I understand how authority works. I'm under authority. And because I've got that right headship over me, I can say to this man, "Go, he goeth." I can say to another, "Come, he cometh." And I can say to my servant, doeth this, and he doeth it. And so when Jesus heard this, he's amazed. Let's look at the next verse. Verse number 10.
>> And when Jesus heard it, he marveled. >> He marveled. >> Go ahead. and said to them that followed, "Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."
>> And so Jesus is a is marveling. He's astonished. Why is he astonished? Because this man understood that earthly authority and spiritual authority mirror each other. >> Right? >> I can read it again, but that's what he's saying. He's saying, "Wow, you understood because you're under authority in the army that you're in. The centurion, he's a captain or whatever in the army." Because you're a centurion and you are under authority and you have people under you. You understand it and you're connecting that spiritually. So if they can do it, I can do it because that's what they did. So this is how you look at it. And we we talk about this in the teaching. If you're watching online or if you go later to watch it, you'll find in all of these uh unmuted conversations me teaching it a link connecting to that. Um, but so this this is the way to look at it. Uh, just like Jesus was amazed by him using the army, let me use the army. And so if you have the general, hey general, how are you doing? Uh, the general right here that that has the final word. Then you have a what am I? Maybe a sergeant major or something. >> Colonel. All right. We'll go with colonel. Who said that? Do do you know what you're talking about? Bubba Bubba. He might not know. Okay. Uh, no, I'm just kidding. We're going to go with Colonel. And then you have uh a captain. And then you have private first class Chad over here. And so you have this line of authority, right? So if the general has told the captain here something to do and and he says and she says to the uh the the private, do this. And he says, "No, I'm not going to do it." He's not just disrespecting the captain, he's disrespecting the general. Correct?
>> And when he obeys the captain, he's not just obeying the captain, he's obeying the general. And that is what Paul is setting up here in 1 Corinthians chap 11 about authority. He is talking about headship and he's talking about how we honor headship. And when we are in right alignment, we walk in the power of God. Amen. Anyone want to add to that? Oh, it's in you. >> You could say something. Go ahead.
>> I want to I want to get to the the substance. >> All right. You go ahead. >> So, what outward symbol >> That hurt my feelings a little bit. Felt like I didn't say no substance the way you said that right there. >> That was so much substance. >> Okay, good. Go ahead. I'm just joking.
>> What outward symbol did God choose? An outward symbol did God choose to represent authority in men and women? And so going back to the military thing, a a general has specific uh stripes or stars or whatever they have to represent them. The the uh colonel has a certain thing. Captains, privates, they all have something. So when you walk up to someone based on the symbol, you know how you're to react to them. So symbols are important naturally. Again, Jesus was marveled by natural things because it was related to spiritual things. That's what we're doing right now. And so, there was a symbol that God uses. And so, let's let's go ahead and we're going to look at that and still add to this same point. So, uh the ne very next verse. So, 1 Corinthiansap 11 verse number four. Now,
>> every man praying or prophesying having his head covered dishonereth his head. >> Go ahead. But every woman that prayth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoreth her head. For that is even all one as if she were shaven.
>> All right. So let me just pause for a moment again because if you don't get the understanding of what God's trying to set up here with authority, the other part is not going to make sense to you. All right. And so look at what it says. Go back to verse four 14 uh four please. Um, every man praying or prophesying having his head covered. We're going to talk about what that is in just a moment. If if it's done, because it's not supposed to be done, it dishonoreth his head. But remember what we just read in verse three. The head of every man is Christ. So when it says dishonorth his head, he's not saying it's dishonoring his head. It's saying it's dishonoring his head. >> Right? It's not if if the private's not listening to the captain or the captain's not listening to the colonel. It's not that they're dishonoring their head. They're dishonoring their head. Right? So the whole point here is authority and being in line. And so look at this is just the starting point here, but it says uh verse number six, I don't think is in notes, but that's the verse I'm going to go to next. It's the next one, but for some reason it wasn't there. Um, but it it says it's even as one as she were shaven. So now we're getting what is the covering uh on the head. Well, what is it that you would shave on your head? Everyone say hair.
>> So let's keep looking. Verse number six. What does that say? >> For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. Oh, this he jumps right into it here. He says, "For if a woman be covered, uh, excuse me, be not covered, let her be shorn." So, we're now we're starting to get a picture. It's getting plainer, and it'll get plainer as we go on, but we're getting a picture of what the covering is he's talking about because he's talking about letting it be shaved off the covering. He's talking about hair. He said, "And if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn, let her be shaven." Look at what he's doing. He's doing the the opposite. shaving. We know what that is. That's a word we use often. If I said, "I shave my head." Mother Chad's head is not shaved.
>> Who's got a shaved head here? I'm trying to >> Come on, stand up, my brother. That's a shaved head. You see that? Now, look at here. I'm almost there. And I haven't even shaved mine, brother. It's just going. But you can see what he what he's what he's doing here is giving you the two extreme. If it be shorn, let it also be shaven. Well, shaven is very obvious. But shorn is not a word we use much. But because sha shave is the extreme, what was shorn mean? The word shorn literally means cut her hair. That's in the Greek that's what it's referring to. It's referring to regular trimming of her hair and that is according to the New York United Bible Society. Sha um and and that word is ke I r o ke e i r o in the in the Greek the primary verb is to shear. What is it to shear? To shear means to cut, clip or rip. clip just a little bit. So you see he's saying it's the same that covering that symbol is is the hair. And if you're removing it, whether you're shaving it all the way off or if you're just trimming it a little bit in God's eyes, it's the same. Now, I have to say this before we keep going. There are people uh ladies in this place with their hair shorter than mine that in the eyes of God it is long.
>> I'm going to explain that to you as we go on. But there are are people watching right now, ladies, that you have shaved your head, but in the eyes of God tonight, >> Yes, sir. >> God can look at it and say, "That's long. True. >> If you under if you already heard this before and you know it to be true, will you clap your hands to the Lord? So it says if if if if put verse six back up there again. For if a woman be not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it be a shame, a shame a shame before God. Whenever you're removed in the army, if you are dishonorably discharged in back in the old days, nowadays they they I don't know how they do it. You know, they're worried about everyone's feelings nowadays, but in the old days, they would literally rip your stripes off in front of the rest of the plat patoon or or the the regiment. That works. Okay. They would pull it off right. Why? They were showing shame. That's what he's saying here. If it be a shame for a woman to be shorn, just clipped or shaven, let her keep covering. And again, that shame is talking about disgrace. It's it's a filthy loathome thing. Uh, is what that word actually means. And so we're talking about hair. One more scripture. Jump to verse 14 and 15 just so we look at hair. And we're going to come back to this later, but 11 14 and 15.
Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? >> Same thing. If a man has long hair, it's a shame to him. What's long on a man? I'm going to get to that in a little bit. But the Bible says if a man, there are people hearing me right now, you have never heard this in your life. And you're like, you have lost your mind. No, actually I have found my mind and I walk in the authority of God every day and so can you. If a man have long hair, it's a shame to him. So, it's a shame to a woman. If she has uh uh cut hair, it's a shame to a man if he has long hair. Uh, verse 15.
>> But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her. For her hair is given her for a covering. >> For her hair is given for for a covering. And so, the symbol that God chose is hair. hair is what God chose as a symbol of being in alignment with God. >> That's right. >> It's what he chose so he can look at it and the angels can look at it and it is an outward sign that they are in alignment with authority.
>> When you were talking before about women's hair being shorter than yours, I can just name some reasons for that. One would be sickness. Yeah. >> One would be seasons of life and hormonal changes. Yeah. >> One would be ethnicities. >> Um, the Bible was not written to Caucasian Americans. It was written for every human on the earth. Amen. >> And it does not matter where they are. They can align with scripture. And so that's why we know long does not necessarily mean inches. >> It doesn't mean uncut. >> It means uncut. That's exactly what it means. It's exactly what it means. Um, any other questions or comments? All right. Le let's keep going a little bit further whatever your next question is and we'll just keep walking. C >> can can I say some more about uh hair and ends of hair.
>> So you know women deal with long hair when we're dealing with long hair. One of the things that we have come to dislike is split ends on the ends of our hair. I wouldn't imagine you would know that struggle but it's real. just because I don't have hardly any hair. >> When when God chose hair as a symbol, what women do with their hair is usually done in a very private situation. They're they're alone a lot of times doing their hair. They're in deep thoughts. They're thinking about their kids. They're thinking about all kinds of things. When women are fixing their hair, their mind goes in all kinds of deep places. And so it's it's important to recognize that in the same way that what is done in secret will be rewarded openly. When you give something so small as the end of your hair to the Lord, the Lord blesses that. And I know we're about to get into symbols. God God honors those small things that we do. And sometimes those small things are the heaviest. And >> so if we've lived a lifetime of worrying about, well, these split ends, they're dry, they're not healthy. The health of our hair, Sister Holly, you can weigh in on this, too, because I know you've got long hair that you deal with, but the health of our hair is not determined by the end. First of all, the health of my hair is not determined by the scalp or the end of my hair. It's determined by how God sees me. >> Yeah. >> And so, but the health of my hair is not determined by the ends of my hair. the health of my hair is determined by what grows from my head. And so our women who have been following these principles, they know how to focus on keeping their hair healthy. And we've got lots of women in throughout this church that it's a ministry for them to talk about how to keep your hair looking nice and healthy. Um, but it it's it's just important that we recognize even in when our when we are alone and we are in those very vulnerable moments where where a woman's self-confidence is feeling, I'm shook. It's crazy how often when our whole self-confidence is feeling shook, something in us thinks trimming the end of my hair is going to fix it. >> Yeah. >> And it's not. It's a trick of the enemy. And our authority comes from surrendering this thing to the Lord. Well, it it comes in. Go ahead. Oh, I thought you say uh Well, when you say a man, you say a lot, baby. Come on. Come on, Holy Ghost.
>> Um, and so this is my wife, by the way. If there's anyone here that don't know who this is, this is my wife. I can say baby. Um, and so I just realized I hadn't introduced you and I wanted to make sure people knew. Uh, and so th this is important though because we were referring to a symbol and you're talking about, you know, it's just a little bit doesn't really matter. symbols, you know, that you're saying, pastor, that's just a symbol of authority. Does a symbol really matter? And so, I want I want to look at this because I want you to understand even in this same chapter, God deals with a symbol. And you see how God responds to a symbol. >> Yes, >> a symbol. What am I talking about? We're in the same chapter, chapter 11. Jump down to verse 23. Go ahead, sweetheart.
>> For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "Take, eat. This is my body which is broken for you. This do in remembrance of me." After the same manner also he took the cup when he had sucked, saying, "This cup is the new testament in my blood. This do ye, as often as ye drink, excuse me, as often as ye drink it in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye do shu the Lord's death till he come."
>> And so what is he talking about here? Communion. It's when we take communion, the body and the blood of Jesus Christ. But that that unleavened bread that you take is a symbol of his body. >> There are people that say, "Well, it's only a it's actually really turns into his body." Well, Jesus was still standing there when he had him do it the first time. It wasn't his body right then, unless little pieces started flying off of him. It it was it was a symbol of his body. And when you take of the fruit of the vine, as Jesus had them do, and you take it, it's a symbol of his blood. It's not really his blood. It's not really his body,
>> but look at how important >> the symbol is to God. >> Start at verse 29. Go ahead. For he that eateth and drinkketh unworthily eateth and drinkkeeth damnation to himself, >> not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you and many sleep. >> That word sleep there is die. That's the same word that Jesus used when he said Lazarus is sleeping. He was dead.
>> He is saying here, go back to verse 29. He that eateth and drinkkeeth unworthily. Otherwise, you're you don't take that symbol seriously. Just flipp it about it. He said you're eating and drinking damnation to yourself. And then in verse 30, it says because of that, how you're treating the symbol, not not the actual body, the symbol of the body, not the actual blood, the symbol of the blood. because you're not treating the symbol with respect. There are many people that are weak and sick among you and many have slept or died. So God takes symbols very seriously. So we could say, well, I don't think God takes that symbol seriously. Who gives us the right to say God doesn't care about the symbol?
>> You go to the Old Testament, you find Moses that he struck the rock twice. The Bible says that rock was Christ. Wasn't actually Christ. It was a rock. It represented it was the symbol of Christ. But because he struck it twice and God told him to strike it once, he was no longer able to go into the promised land. God takes symbols seriously. How about the ark of the covenant? That wasn't the presence of God. It was wood covered in gold, >> but it represented the presence of God. So when he when Yuza reached out to touch the symbol, God killed him. >> How about baptism? >> Baptism. When we are buried with him by baptism, that's a symbol of going through that process. But we know according to the word of God, baptism doth also now save us. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. And so we cannot get the attitude that symbols don't matter because all of these symbols matter to God. And so if in the same chapter he's looking at one symbol saying if you don't treat it right, you're going to die. What gives us the right to say God don't care about this other symbol? Lord, help us right now. I know it's getting strong in here right now.
>> God, open our heart and our mind and let your word don't let us don't let us get the attitude, we're going to do it our way no matter what. I want to please you, God. I want to please you, God. I want your word I want your word, God, to live in me. >> I want to be in alignment. I want those symbols in my life to be in alignment >> in Jesus name. >> In Jesus name. >> Go ahead.
>> So symbols are important. We just read about uh a woman having power a woman being shamed or unashamed. Yes. >> And a man. >> 1 Corinthians 11:10 talks about power on her head. Uh, what does it mean that women ought to have power on her head because of the angels?
>> Well, there are things I'm going to say. Go ahead and read it, sweetheart. >> For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. >> Pastor, why are you talking about angels with hair? Because that's what this whole thing is talking about. for this cause ought a woman to have power on her head because of the angels. Now, I've got things to talk about with this, but I would love D or Holly or Chad, if y'all have something y'all want to y'all want to jump into right now, go ahead for it because if you say it, I won't have to. Go ahead.
>> I have experiences with just knowing God met me in a different way because I'd given him something so small. Um, I was uh at a friend's house and uh Morgan, who is now 20some, I don't know, she's my kid. She's my first born. You can do the math. She was born in 97. She's a baby and we were at a friend's house and this friend had a nine 10 year old child who had her own makeup kit in her room. This lady was brave enough to have white carpet in her house. And I'm I'm at this house alone with Morgan another baby and then two children. So, it's just a lot of ruckus. The other moms had run to the store to get sandwich stuff. So, I turn around and Morgan had taken this child's lipstick and had just done some beautiful art on this lady's white carpet. And I'm like, I don't know where her cleaning supplies are. I don't know any of this. And I'm on the floor trying to I'm like just scrubbing and I'm mad and I'm frustrated and I'm scared, you know, all the things. And I it just smoked me. Where is Morgan? And I looked over my shoulder and the door to the pool was standing open. And I went running out to that pool. And when I looked down over the edge of that pool, Morgan was on the bottom. It seemed like she was completely submerged underwater. Her hands are like this, both hands out, her face is up, and there was a funnel from her mouth to the top of that pool. And I just, you know, all of this was just seconds and I just jumped in and got her out. Of course, I was just crying and crying and crying. Morgan was not phased by that at all. Morgan immediately toddled back to the pool and I went, "No, no." You know, I got her and stopped. But nothing about that experience was traumatic for her. And I fully believe the angels of the Lord, I don't know how long I was down there scrubbing that carpet, but the angels of the Lord protected my baby.
>> Absolutely. And I and if you have another story in a minute, I want to hear it. I want to explain this. Go put verse 10 up there again. For this cause, ought. The word ought means to be indebted. Otherwise, if you will take, as sister D said, this small symbol, this small step, for this cause ought to be indebted to the woman to have power on her head because the word because means through, by, or with because of the angels. Let's go back to the word power. Ought to have power on her head. That word means authority.
>> Authority. This is what it really comes from. This when you look down the last the last one says permission conferred by a higher court. >> This is what you've got to understand. When you get in alignment, >> sir, >> remember general, colonel, captain, private, when you're out of alignment, you have no authority. But when you're in alignment, you have authority. And God specifically says to the woman, when you are in alignment, uh, one of the weapons that he gives you is you have you have power on your head with by the angels. I can tell you story after story uh of women in this church uh that while they were fixing their hair that God spoke to them and miracles begin to happen. I'm just here to tell you. You say, "What does that mean?" I'm just reading the word of God. Uh, there is a connection uh to you wonderful, precious women. Uh, you bring something to this church uh that the men do not bring. Uh, the angels show up. Whenever you walk in and you are in alignment, you bring the angels to your home. I wish I wish some ladies would lift your hands right now and begin to invite the angels in this place. hear me. The angels understand authority.
>> Lucifer, the devil, >> is a fallen >> angel. He got out of alignment, >> right? >> He was not just the private angel >> or the captain angel. He was one of the only three archangels. >> Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. >> He's at the top. >> But even at the top, he got out of alignment. And when he got out of alignment, >> the Bible lets us know that he was cast out of heaven. >> And when he was cast out of heaven, he took a third of the angels with him. >> So angels understand >> when you're in alignment >> and when you're out of alignment. And so what happens? I believe when a godly woman walks into a church or walks into a grocery store and she has the symbol of alignment, this is what God picked. Not me. She has the symbol of alignment. The angels of the Lord uh just walk right in with her. Uh, I do not want to live life on my own. Uh, I want to be uh in alignment. I want to make sure uh that the authority flows from the top all the way to the bottom. I'm here to tell you, mama, when you make that commitment to be in authority and to be in alignment, you bring the angels to your home. And the opposite is true. When you get out of alignment, the angels step back.
>> Oh, help me, Holy Ghost. Someone needs to pray right now. Somebody come on. Why would we live with less than God has for us? >> Why would we live? These wonderful ladies, people walk in this church. I'm like, boy, that that preacher, boy, is really preaching it. Boy, you feel the spirit moving in that church. That's really happening. >> I'm sorry, but there's more going on than me up here preaching the word. >> There's men in alignment >> and there's ladies in alignment. And when I'm preaching, those angels that walk in here with you ladies, they begin to stir the atmosphere. >> I believe what I'm talking about right now. There are ministering angels that are here right now. I feel the Holy Ghost. Will you stand with me right now? I'm not done, but I want you to stand with me right now. If you have a need, I encourage you to lift your hands. If there is a lady, you're doing it because as your pastor, I'm opening this door. I'm asking the lady, if you see someone with their hand up and you have kept that symbol before God and you're in alignment, I want you to go lay hands on them. God's about to do a miracle in them right now. If you need a miracle, lift your hands. Go right now in the name of Jesus. You need a miracle right now. God, show your power right now. Ministering spirits. Come on. That's it, ladies. You are powerful. Come on. That's it, ladies. You are anointed of God. Ladies, you bring something to this church that no one else brings. I believe that. I believe there's something special about your prayer. There's something special about your prayer. Come on, mama. Pray over that child. Come on, pray. Pray. Pray. Come.
on. That's it. That's it, lady. Operate. Operate in the spirit. There it is right there. There's a breakthrough. You can feel that healing. You can feel that happening. There it is right there. There it is. There are people getting the Holy Ghost and being renewed right now. If you need something, I would encourage you. Find a lady and say, "Pray for me. Pray for me. Pray for me." You need wisdom right now. Let the angels be loose to minister in this house tonight. Oh. Oh. Oh my lord. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus. Quickness in the name of Jesus. Let it happen, Lord. As quick and as painless as possible, Lord, in Jesus name.
Y'all feel that presence that's just shifted in this place. You know what we need to do more in our services? Acknowledge the presence of God. Acknowledge the presence of his angels. Acknowledge the the the supernatural. The more we acknowledge it, the more we're going to see it begin to operate in our midst. We need to acknowledge. You can sit there, sit there with your arms folded, not caring about anything. But the angels just like Jacob can descend and ascend and you not be touched. But somebody uh is refusing to sleep through a miracle. Uh you're refusing to sleep through uh an opportunity to touch God. Power. Power. My Lord. My Lord. I'm trying to stop. I really am. Holy Ghost. Come on, Jesus. Come on, Jesus. Come on, Holy Ghost. Jesus name. Jesus name. Jesus name. Jesus name. We got angelic angels right now. There's an angelic presence here. That's it's hard to just stop anything right now in the name of Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost.
There are more. There's more things that I know I need to answer. There was questions that came in last week and I want to answer them. So, let's go ahead and go back to our seats for a moment. Oh. Oh Jesus. You know, there's this people that watch like even what we've done right now as we begin to pray and the angels of the Lord begin to move and and in in their ignorance they have gone online and done different things and started calling it oh um you know about different people that it's magic hair. Oh, he he thinks it's magic hair. It's not the hair that's powerful. It's any more than when you are baptized and your sins washed away. Do you believe that? Did you know that that water is the same where that water comes from right there? The same source goes to our bathrooms. It's not holy water. It's obedience to the word of God and it's alignment with the word of God. That's what I'm talking about with the our ladies and men and our hair. It's not that it's magical and these people just getting ignorant like that. It's because I'm obeying the word. It's because I'm trying to please God. That's where the power comes in. Let's let's not get ignorant. Okay. Jesus name. Jesus name. Okay. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.
All right. So, where were we? I don't even know. Uh, let me just go through a couple of these things. They have power in their head because of the angels. Uh, go ahead to verse 13, sister Holly. Judge in yourselves. Is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Now, some people have taken this and said, see, you just make your own judgment call whether or not you do it or not. That's not what this scriptures is saying. This is a rhetorical question. is saying based off all the stuff I'm telling you, come on, don't you can't you see is it comely for a woman to be uncovered? And so he it's talking about um that in that aspect. Um and I think we get back to uh yeah, we get back to we're just going to keep marching through it here for a moment. Uh and so go ahead, Sister D. You want to say something about that? Go for it. Go ahead. Let's move to uh men. Okay. What does scripture say about men and their hair? Um okay. Uh what verse are we on? 13. Go to 14. Next verse. Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? It is a shame unto him. If a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him. Is there anybody that wants to be ashamed before God? And so he says, if a man have long hair, it's a shame. And that does not nature itself. Listen, I don't know what he's talking about. I I just can't put my finger on it. what he's talking about with men and nature. Listen, men, unless there is a deficiency, women normally have long, thick hair and men's hair is more balding. Does not nature itself teach you that this is just part of it. Um, but to go further than that, I want us to jump out of Corinthians for just a brief moment to Ezekiel chapter 44 and verse 20. Go ahead, please. Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long. They shall only pull their heads. This is speaking of men and it's saying that we should not, it's talking about the when it says to shave their head, it's not really talking about shaving it, buzzing it that that when you look at it, it's talking about shaving designs in it. It's talking about doing all this this kind of the these kind types of things. So not not to be doing all that with their head, but neither suffer their locks, their hair to grow long. But then this is this is how it says it should be for men that they should only pull their heads. Now pulling your head is not a common phrase in our world today. But what pull is is well today we use it in in politics. We poll, right? We we did this poll and and when we when they do a poll, what are they trying to do? They're finding the line. When it's saying here that they pull their heads, it's saying that they pull it. It means that they're cutting around the natural hairline. That's what it is referring to. So, not to suffer our locks to grow long, neither are we going to shave all the stuff in it, but we're just going to keep it short around the natural hairline, repulling uh our hair. And I talk more about that when I do the teaching, but I'll move on for now unless people have more questions later.
Didn't Jesus have long hair? No, Jesus didn't have long hair. That cracks me up. Didn't Jesus have long hair? First of all, can you imagine Paul that said very clearly, "I seen Jesus." And if Jesus had long hair, do you think he's then going to turn around and say, "It's a shame for a man to have long hair." Listen. All the pictures that we talk about that the world looks at as Jesus, they were not painted or drawn in the time of Jesus. They are painted. Go look at them and find out about those paintings. They were painted in the dark ages. The these were not paintings of Jesus. It's the people in the dark ages and that's what they were going for. And we just accept that that that's what Jesus looks like looks like. There's no way that Paul is going to say it's a shame for a man to have long hair. Also, having long hair was a very unique thing as a whole. Some people have said to me, and I've always thought this was funny, that Jesus uh had long hair because he was from Nazareth and then they say, "Yo, the Nazarene vow, Nazarite vow." Those are two different things. Nazareth is a town. A Nazerite vow was a vow. They have nothing to do with each other whatsoever. And and a uh you find in in the Bible that it was the reason so you have uh a couple of people that had long hair. One is Samson. And the whole point about Samson is he was under a Nazarite vow. And it made him stick out. If everybody walked around with long hair, what would that vow mean? That's like me saying, "I'm vowing to eat cheeseburgers. Everybody's eating cheeseburgers." That's not a vow. But if I actually do something different than everyone, that's how that vow would stick out. Um, and uh, uh, I believe Samuel, not Samuel, anyways, one of the other prophets had a Nazarite vow, but a lot of the Nazarite vows were for 30 days. My hair just grew for like a two months. I just got a haircut the other day. Um, and and there's no locks there, okay, in two months for me. But most Nazarite vows were a month long. That was the common thing. It it was very rare that it would go, you know, longer than that. And again, only two, maybe three people in the Bible had a life Nazarite vow. And so, um, but there is no scripture indicates it. These scriptures indicate it's a shame for man to have long hair. We shouldn't, we should not suffer our locks to grow long. We should keep it pulled. So, no, Jesus didn't have long hair. I don't believe that at all.
Yeah. um a woman's covering. Why aren't we using veils or hats or any because uh the Bible says um let me go back to it again. That that that is a common thing. It's in verse 15. Um that is a common thing for some churches is uh some ladies will have veils. Some some of them don't cut their hair. Some of them cut their hair, but then they have a veil because of this scripture. And they think that that a woman needs to have a covering and so they put a veil on. But the Bible is extremely clear what the covering is in verse 15. Go ahead. But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given her for a covering. So the covering is not a veil. It's not some thing they put up. Her hair is given her for the covering. And that's why, you know, you don't nip, cut, or shave veils. It the the counter is always the hair. And and also this word, by the way, long does not mean a certain length. We talked about that earlier. It actually means uncut. Uncut. And that's why uh to nip or to cut or to break is is some of the things I talked about earlier. Go ahead. But what if I didn't want to leave my hair uncut? What if you did not want to? Yeah. Can I? I'm a good Christian. No, you cannot. I want to get to verse 16. Go ahead. Go for it. Read verse 16. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. Okay? And so when people read this, I've heard people say, "If anyone's contentious, uh, we have no custom." That that's really not our custom. They've tried to read it that way. That's not what that scripture means at all. Uh, and it it is if any man is contentious, that word contentious literally means a fight lover. Otherwise, if you're just wanting to create fights and you're want to do all this stuff, uh, we have no such customs. It literally means in every other translation uh, than I've read, we have no other custom. This is the only custom. And it says neither the churches of God. Because some people have said, well, this was just something for the Corinthian church. But here he says, uh, we don't have, this is the only custom we have. This is how we all do it. All the churches of God do the same thing. Not all the churches of Corinthian do the same thing. All the churches of God do the same thing. And so, it is not something that we look at Corinth and say, "Oh, that's what they did. We do something different." That's not the case at all. Paul's instructions. He's just Paul. So, are they optional instructions?
Well, uh, jump. We're going to actually jump to a different chapter for this one. Jump all the way to chapter 14 and verse 37 because this is how Paul talks about his own writings. Uh, go ahead. If any man think himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. Man, I love the way Paul writes things. He's like, "So, you're spiritual, huh? You think you're so spiritual that I'm not just writing stuff." He said, "You need if you're truly spiritual, you will acknowledge that the things that I am writing are the commandments of the Lord." We should not look at these as, oh, this is just an option. This is something out there. We need to be in alignment with what God uh is wanting to do. And God, I did not choose it. God chose that hair. And I think it's really cool. He's talking about headship. And he uses something visually. You can see your head to represent headship. And and when you're in right alignment, the angels of the Lord are flowing. The spirit of God is flowing. When you're out of alignment, it's not good.
There's not a woman I know that doesn't love the verse. I believe it's in Job where he says, "I have made a covenant with mine eyes not to look upon a maiden." Every woman's very grateful for the idea that a man would make a covenant with his eyes. So, we're not looking at pornography. We're not looking at women. Yes. It's okay for us to have covenants with God that are for me I this first Corinthians does not call hair a covenant with God. But personally I look at it that way. Yes. Well, it's an alignment with God and and and you are a a covenant with God because what you're saying is by doing this I am in alignment and when I step outside of that that's why later Paul said acknowledge what I'm saying are the commandments of the Lord. And so I do believe that when we do these things, I want to please God. I want to please God. I'm not interested in pleasing the world. I'm not interested in pleasing. I want to please God. And so that's my my heartbeat. Other questions or comments?
I do. I have a couple questions. So if a woman never heard these scriptures and decided right now to never cut her hair again, how long would it take for her to be in alignment? That's a great question. And that goes back to what that scripture I I I read earlier. Um, if a woman have long hair, uh, in 1 Corinthians 11:15, but if a woman go ahead, sweetheart, let's see here. Okay. But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given her for a covering. If a woman have long hair, that word long has nothing to do with length. When you read it, um, it it literally means uncut. Um, verse 15, uncut. Uh uh uh again, K E I R O uncut. Uh let it grow is one of the the phrases that's in that. Bishop, I see you up here. If you ever want to say anything, you just get the mic from us. Um uh there is a that covering. And so it's long hair. It literally means uncut hair. So that's why I said earlier, you could have hair shorter than mine. And tonight you say, you know what? I I want to be in alignment. I want to make sure that I'm in alignment with God. I'm going to take that step of faith. As soon as you do, you are now uncut. Right? Because you have made a determination. I'm going to let it grow. I'm going to let it become and let that symbol be on my head. And so, it doesn't matter what ethnic group you are. It doesn't matter uh what's happened in the past. None of that matters. It's not a certain length of hair. It is a commitment before God that that symbol that he chose is going to be on my head. That's what the word long hair means.
Going back to the men where you were talking about we were pulling our hair. Yes. How is getting it faded with an edge? Is that wrong? I think that's getting it getting into can get into sha shaving which is what it's talking about where you're putting carving in it. I don't think we need to be putting uh hardcore things layering it up where it's got line and line and line, you know, uh uh Ice Ice Baby or whatever back in the day. Um uh we don't we don't need that. Uh uh you know, having your hair cut and and layered is one thing, but that word shaving is literally talking about putting designs in it. And so that's mainly what it's referring to. If if it has, you know, like it's just long right here and it's just a line, it it's I I I would say be be careful with it. Let's let's men look like men. We're not trying to be, you know, Mr. Hiphop person.
I think this question is going to be more along the lines of um have I answered correctly? So, the question is, have I answered correctly? Uh different I have friends who use weaves um or wigs and wanting to make sure that it looks in sync with the body of Christ. Uh what would your I I've told I've told them have it look uncut. Exactly right. That's exactly what I would say. You know, the Bible says don't let your good be evil spoken of. Uh and so uh abstain from all appearance of evil. Again, not evil to this world. What God sees as something that's uh distasteful to him. And so if you're if you know if you're maybe you're going through chemo, maybe you've got different things and you need to wear a wig. You want that wig to look uncut. You want you don't want to present yourself as something that's contrary to what you want to be in alignment with. God understands what's going on in those situations. He's there for you in those situations, but we don't want to um u like like there have been uh ladies in the past that was in our choir um that got got a a wig uh and was in the choir, but it definitely looked like it was just cut. And I just said, "Sister, you're representing uh you know, God, the church, yourself, your family. You want you want to make sure it has a better look at it." So, that's how I would answer that. Any other questions, comments, smart remarks? Okay, good. We're talking about hair. We see the Bible teaches about uncut hair for women and short hair for men. So God cares about hair. Yes. What about hair dye? Oh, we we we about to step on some toes up in this place. Um, so I I'm going to just give you what I feel like uh the word uh is saying. I God does look at it as a symbol. Going back to the army, if you're in the army, your your shoes are shined, your your belt buckle is shining, you you you want to make sure that what you're doing is presented right. So if God chose the symbol of hair as that sign of authority, I think we need to to see it as God sees it and honor God the way God honors it. So what the way God looks at us, I I want us to read through a few different scriptures here real quick. Uh if you can go to Psalms 139 and verse 14. Go ahead. I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well. So I need to say these things quick but um God God thinks his creation is great. He thinks just the way he created it is great. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. So, um, when we start looking at whether it be, um, uh, hair or whether it be makeup or anything like that, uh, I think it's important how how we look at it. Look at Matthew uh, 5 and 36. Matthew 5:36. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head because thou canst not make one hair white or black. And so, uh, God is is saying that you can't you you just can't do that by by, um, um, by thinking about it or looking at it, you're going to turn one hair white and black. Someone told me one time that's because they didn't have hair dye back then. The Egyptians have been at hair dye a long time ago. Um, and so you can you're free to go study that. Um, but uh, but he the attitude is is we don't make one white or black. We let it be what it is. That that's what it is. Proverbs 16:31. The hy head is a crown of glory if it be found in the way of righteousness. Now, if you read this in any other translation, the hory head is the gay head. The gay head is a crown of glory. That's how God sees it when we allow ourselves to just go uh uh the natural the way it goes. Go to I'm trying to do these fast. I could talk more about each of them. Proverbs 20 and verse 29. The glory of young men is their strength, and the beauty of old men is the gay head. Uh, Leviticus chapter 19 and verse 32. Thou shalt rise up before the hory head. Greyhead. Go ahead. And honor the face of the old man and th and fear thy God. I am the Lord. I am the Lord. He's saying this is what we should do. So when God talks about it, uh what really what what hair dye is is is makeup for the hair. And we know what the Bible says about makeup. Or actually, maybe we're about to get in a little bit of that, but we know what the Bible says about it. God very much is uh uh not for a makeup. And so uh the our stance here at this church is we we allow it. Listen, I love gray hair. I love the beauty of gray hair. I love the beauty of letting nature go. I have watched I mean we live in the villages. Help me Jesus. You walk behind someone and they've got you know this whatever color hair and as soon as they turn their face you're just like yeah nope that don't match. And you know but when when but at the same time that same person you don't have that when it's all conducive and it's all um that's not the word I'm looking for but uh it it flows together. It works together. And so it it just is not something that we we want to get into. I could talk more about it, but I know we got more questions. So go ahead.
You you mentioned makeup. So what does scripture say about makeup? We'll go to the word. So um go to uh the first mention of makeup in the Bible is 2 Kings chapter 9 verse number 30. Let's read that. And when Jay Hugh was come to Jezrael, Jezebel heard of it and she painted her face and tired her head and looked out at a window. And so this is the first mention of makeup in the Bible, her painting her face. I if to this day if someone is acting really really bad, if a lady is just acting really rough, people even in the world will say she's just a Jezebel. I mean, that's how ingrained this woman is in our society to this day. Uh, and so Jezebel is a preacher killer. She She's one that is destroying the the things of God every way that she can. What she's trying to do right here is lure uh Jahu upstairs and she's acting like a harlot. So, she's painting her face to lure him up. And so, there's no one that wants to be connected to Jezebel that's a Christian. Um, and so let me just read a few more. Jeremiah chapter 4 and verse 30. This is the prophet of God talking about the people of God that have went away from God. And he's describing them and he is painting them in a certain light. And this is what he says about him. Go ahead. And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Thou though thou clothestest thyself with crimson, though thou deckst thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair, thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. She he is talking about Israel leaving playing the harlot. That's just what he's saying. And so he's saying that, you know, painting the face, he's connecting it to that. Let's do another one. Ezekiel 23 verse 40. same scenario. He's he's upset. He's painting Israel that have left them in a bad light. Go ahead. And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far unto whom a messenger was sent. And lo, they came for thou for excuse me, for whom thou didest wash thyself, paintest thy face, thy eyes, and deckst thyself with ornaments. And so you're painting your your eyes. You're bringing them in to you. you're you're putting on this makeup, you're trying to be alluring. Every time the Bible speaks of of of jewelry and makeup, it puts it in a bad light over and over and over again. Uh and when you go into the book of Revelation, I just want to read these real quick. Revelation uh this is how God describes the harlot church uh in the New Testament. So, Revelation 17 verse number three. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast full of names of blasphemy having seven heads and 10 horns. So he's this is not obviously this seven head torn person is not God's idea of what we want to be. But look at how it describes what is referred to as the harlot church. Next verse. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness in her fornication. So that's how God describes the harlot church. All this extra stuff. Let's look at how he describes the church, the bride of Christ. Same same book, Revelation 19:7. Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him. For the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white. For the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. It's such a stark difference when you look at what Jesus in the book of Revelation is saying. This is what I don't like. This is what I do like. And if your desire is to please God, then we should be doing things and living our lives in such a way that God will say, "I am well pleased."
Go ahead. Question. I do have questions, but I do want to make a statement when you're talking about makeup. I think one of my favorite statements that I've heard you say year time and time again every year is that we don't paint dead things. We don't paint living things. We don't paint living things. Yeah, sir. That's exactly right. You don't go out and paint a living tree, right? You don't go out there with a roller and like, "Oh, we're going to do this." You don't do that. It's once it's dead, you've cut it down, you've did it, then you paint it. We are lively stones. We are the We are living testimonies of Jesus Christ. We've got the glory of God flowing through us. We don't need that stuff. Go ahead.
Um, what what if we're would makeup apply if if it is u more of a cover up and it matches our skin tone? So, this is what I say. Uh it it needs to be natural. Uh but it still shouldn't be heavy. Uh it still shouldn't be this heavy thing that we're putting on here. Uh if there are some people that need powder for oils or there's certain things, but when you putting makeup that's changing the color of your skin, that is makeup. That is something if you've got something that is that is is natural. Uh by the way, the same thing with nails. Fantastic. And so with your nails, you know, we don't do makeup on anything. And so we don't paint our our our nails either. Um, and so if you're having your nails done, some ladies, uh, their nails are weak. They they put things on and make them stronger or whatever. Well, that should look natural. It should not be a color. It should not be bright white either. That's not natural. It should be a natural look. And I don't even know what to how to describe that. It is that a that's not a French tip. That's something different. French tip is really white. So I don't know what is. But you have to you have to say this is what I want. I want it to look just like natural. Um, and if if um that's what I would say and the same with if someone is is putting something on their face, it should not be thick at all. It should not be caked on us. Uh it it and it it should be for a purpose. Getting the oils or getting something not not not just painting your face out of vanity. For me personally, um, if I'm going to put something on my face, if I can take a white tissue and rub my face, if there's color that comes off, to me, that's too much color. It should be nothing on that white tissue. There you go. Amen.
How about a new convert? Should they strip their hair to make it natural again or should they dye it back to their natural color? Would that be the same? How should they handle that? It's a wonderful question and it's a difficult question. Um, it's not just easy. Um, you know, I would say let let just let it start growing. You know, let it start growing. Uh, there are amazing women. I I'm not going to give a straight answer on that right now. What I'm going to say is there are amazing women in this church that know how to handle things naturally. I would say talk with Sister Lisa Plappard or Sister Melissa Lasage um, and others. how you know who you are. Um, but you could talk to Sister Nay or my wife and they can point you in the right direction. You need to do it as natural as you can. You don't want to just add um I was going to say insult to injury, but you don't want to just keep adding add to it.
What about perms? Perms should not be where they're if you put if you perm your hair too much, you're breaking it off. It's it's the same as starting to cut it. You're you're you're putting too many chemicals. You need to let your hair hair be natural. perms are fine uh as long as as you don't do it so much that you're actually damaging what God has given you because that word uh uh that that we talked about earlier, it means to clip, cut, or rip. And so what it's saying is not to damage any of it. We should honor it. That's what God chose for assemble and that's what he said to use.
Um in some of the scriptures that we used earlier, it was mentioning for gray hair. It was mentioning men, but it doesn't really talk about women. I I would say what's good for the goose is good for the gander. The Bible says uh that men lift up holy hands without wrath and doubting in like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel. God always ties these things together. Even though he is referring to mens throughout the battle Bible, do you know how many blessings are referred to? It just says men, but it's actually referred to to everyone. Unless you want to disregard and not get any of those blessings, I would say you would regard this the same way.

Uh, but I don't do that because because I think it's not worthy for us to put serious attention on it. These are things that please God. And I'm here to tell you, people say, "Well, that's just a small thing." Well, the Bible says, "If you're faithful in that which is little, I can make you a ruler of that which is much." If we can't do these small things, God is not going to grant us bigger things. So, we are a church that strives to please God. Holiness, remember what I said a few weeks ago, holiness. What makes something holy in the Bible? The fact that it was separated from the world, dedicated unto God. And there's one illustration I'm going to end with that I have not done this year that I normally do, but it helps. Brother Chad, hold that. This is the world. I just felt like that was fitting. It's an iPhone. This is the world. No, let's change that. This is God. This is the world. And this is me. We have to be careful of this. I think this is one of the most dangerous things I see in the church is we say, "Well, there's God. This is the world." And we say, "Well, look how bad the world is. I'm closer to God than the world is. I'm better than the world." And then the world gets worse, further from God. And then we say, "I'm closer to God than
