Okay, I don't care who you are. I don't care if you care about beauty, anti-aging, your face. If you never look in a mirror ever in your life, I still highly recommend that you learn the V-shape and facial awareness.

So, facial awareness is when we are, in a non-judgmental, objective way, aware of how we tend to hold our face. So if you become aware of that and you realize, "Okay, I do tend to furrow my brows a lot. I kind of look angry all the time." If you become aware of, "I look sad even when I don't feel sad." Whatever it is, because we all have these tendencies towards negative facial tension patterns.

Once you become aware of that, you can move into the V-shape, which is where everything lifts out, up, and open from the base of the face, the chin, out to the sides. So we let go of tension in the mouth. We subtly lift at the corners. That makes the cheeks activate. We have a subtle lift in the apples of the cheeks that travels out to our brows. And our brows are not lifted straight up. This would be worry, surprise. Our brows lift out to the sides of the head, pulled by the temporalis and the other muscles on the sides of the head, which also prevents us from having that inner pinch in our brows. Everything pinching in. We let it all flow out, up, and open.

So you naturally look more approachable. You naturally look happier. You naturally look more confident. So this can serve you really well, even in business settings, and interviews, on dates, whatever it may be. Because really, this, this is you getting back to your true state. This is like what your face is meant to be. You're meant to have this free, open baseline facial posture. And then you can express when you want. Sometimes you might want to look unapproachable, to be fair. So all you would do is let go of this and make your face sterner, flatter, more pinched in.

But the point is, we are learning how to have an open, lifted facial posture. Because then you're holding this all the time, and you're training the proper muscles to keep you lifted. So even though as we age and over time we lose some tonus in our muscles and our muscles get weaker, if we have that nice subtle lift in the proper muscles, the apples of the cheeks, the muscles that lift us out to the sides, that keep the eyes open wide and lifted, then we're constantly exercising those muscles at a low level and training them to stay lifted. That's something that you can't even replicate with plastic surgery. There's no Botox, filler, lift procedure that can replicate just having good facial posture.

This also instantly puts you in a better mood. Once you figure out how to open and lift and widen your face, once it clicks, you will feel the difference come over you. You're like, "Oh, I feel like just that much lighter, that much more confident, that much more comfortable in my face and in my body." So this is really good for people, especially who are overexpressors, who tend to express a lot in the face, hold a lot of tension in the face. There's nothing wrong with that. I am one of you. But it's very nice to have a better, more neutral baseline to return to, to teach your body how to go to.
