She Left Her Body Over and Over—Saw Heaven and God: Heather Vandermeyden's NDE Story

Living God's Light33:27

Transcription

In this episode of the Living Gods Light podcast. They said to my family, "Won't you leave your room for a minute? We'll get her innovated. You can come back in." And suddenly they see me being rushed down the hall at a fast speed with the nurses on the bed. And I had crashed. The next thing I remember, I am off to the side of the seating that you'd see at like a rodeo and off to the left there was a hospital bed with nurses completely surrounding it. I couldn't see who was on the bed for a minute and as they moved back and forth, I suddenly saw this young girl and she was completely terrified. I could feel her energy and I could feel the nurses. They were thinking, "She's going to die and we're going to be here when she dies and we've got to save her. She's so young." And I watched for quite a few minutes before I realized that was me. I am I am I am I am I am living God's life. Heather, it feels like we've known each other a long time. Did we meet through author ready or through living God's light or I met you and Vinnie um at your first book signing with Rick first came out at his place in Marie? Yep. Yeah. Yeah. And how did you find out about it? Um through his Facebook. Oh through Rick. Okay. Someone had a near-death experience. I was like, "Oh my gosh, tell me more." Yeah. Yeah. So that's why I went to it because I I mean I had not talked about this at that point. had been over 20 years and I hadn't talked in public about it because people would think you're crazy or you know my doctor shut me down. So after reading that book I was like okay this is this is cool. So being in this world a while I've I've noticed it over half probably of the near-death experiencers that I've talked to. It's about 20 years before they feel feel comfortable talking about it. Some are even like 40 years. Yeah. Yeah. On average, I think it's been about 20 years is the number I hear most often. Yeah. But I also feel like now it's more acceptable to talk about it. Back when it happened and I was young, but people didn't talk about that. They thought you're kind of kooky. And I never doubted what happened. I mean, it was the most real thing that's ever ever happened in my life. But yeah, I have to say that for people that understand and need that knowledge of, you know, they're scared of dying. It feels like it doesn't do it justice for me to just say, "Yeah, tell us your story." because it is it's still blowing my mind. I read your book and it's blown my mind. So yeah, the book is like at the end of copy editing, it's so close to being published. So so excited. Thanks for letting me be a an early reader on that. Well, it's because of you. I had never planned to write it and then when you said, you know, you need to write a book, I was like, oh, I need to write a book. Seriously? Yeah. Never ever was I g I'm a shy person. I I didn't want to get out there in public and podcasts scare me. I have to pump myself up every time. But no, um, yeah, your experience is so incredible, though. So, please tell us about it. Yeah, I I guess I'll start at the beginning. I was completely healthy and I'd been married for about a year when I started getting really sick and the doctors couldn't figure out what's wrong with me. I was doing all kinds of testing. You know, I was a newlywed. We were planning this wonderful life together and I was so sick I couldn't work. Um, I had to quit my job. I just I was sick all the time. My stomach was constantly hurting. I was losing weight. I couldn't keep any food in my body. And so eventually I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. And it kind of came out of nowhere. I was always a healthy kid. And then suddenly I was so sick I couldn't even get up out of bed. And so for about a year the doctors tried everything they could to kind of stabilize me and nothing was helping and I was getting sicker and sicker. And I I was in such denial that I was sick because I was, you know, 19 20 years old. And you know, you don't think of yourself as being um sickly like that. And so I as I got sicker and lost more weight, I was down to, you know, close to 90 pounds. Each day it was worse. We're trying every medication possible, high doses of really scary drugs trying to put me into remission. And one day I was at my parents house sitting in their kitchen. They had a dining room table just off the kitchen. I was doing a puzzle by myself. And I heard this male voice behind my right shoulder say, "You're going to die soon and it's going to be okay." And I immediately looked around the room because I was by myself. Everyone else was, you know, outside or whatever. And I thought, "Okay, that voice was very clear, very strong." And I somehow felt like I knew the voice somehow, but I didn't know who it was. Um, it was just familiar to me. And I immediately understood that whatever was said was true. In my mind, I'm thinking, okay, it's probably going to be a car accident. Um, I'm not sick. They're going to find a way to help me be better, so I need to be careful when I drive. But I was also kind of planning for if I did die, getting my affairs in order in a way. And I didn't tell anyone this. And this was in the summer of 1999. And as the months, the weeks grew on, I got sicker and sicker. In October of that year, I started passing out and I'd fall downstairs, broke my tailbone, which to this day is still very painful. Um, I just I couldn't keep any food and I was living on broth and rice baby cereal and even that wasn't helping at all. So, in October, I collapsed both lungs. After about a week, I realized it wasn't back pain. I went into the hospital for a week and they said, you know, you have really severe ulcerative colitis. that's affecting every part of your body, all your organs. And they said, "If you come back to the hospital, we're probably going to do surgery and remove your large intestine." So, I was like, "Well, I'm never coming back mistakenly here." I did not want surgery. So, I went home and in December, I was sicker than before. Back in the hospital a couple times, and on December 20th, the ER doctor decided to keep me in the hospital. um looking through my records and um asking how I was doing. I was like, "Oh, I'm good. You know, just have a fever." And for some reason, he decided to keep me in the hospital and I've been multiple times to the ER and they had never kept me before. But his actions that day saved my life and they did some testing, bunch of imaging, and found out that my large intestine had completely failed and I was I had about 24 hours to live or my organs were going to start shutting down and I was going to go septic. So they did the surgery. It went great. They did um they removed the entire large intestine and um did a closttomy bag that they were going to keep for about six weeks until I healed and then they were going to take the small intestine and make it into what's called a J pouch which um works the same as you know internally and you can live your life normally. And I was like okay cool. So New Year's Eve it's Y2K. I was in the room with my mom and two of my brothers. We were watching um the ball drop in other countries, you know, um Marie and New Year's Eve. And when the nurses came to check on me, they were on both sides of my bed um kind of near my upper chest area. They were checking on my 8 in incision and just checking vitals and suddenly I felt myself lift off the bed and it scared me. Like truly scared me because I knew they hadn't lifted up the bed and no one was alarmed that I was floating up near their shoulders. And I stayed there for quite a few minutes while they, you know, checked my blood pressure and stuff. And then they left the room and said, you know, have a good night. And slowly I felt my body lower back onto the bed. And I looked at my mom and my brothers and they were just watching TV. They weren't seeing what was happening. And I was like, that's weird. I'm going to keep that quiet to myself. I'm, you know, I didn't have any narcotics in my body at that point. Um, I hated the way the morphine pump made me feel. I was actually allergic to it. So throughout a lot of my hospital experience, I didn't have any narcotics in me. Um besides anesthesia, the only time I'd used the morphine pump was if I had to walk. Um the nurses would use it for me um for the pain. Fast forward to January 3rd and my small intestine came out of my stomach into my clusty bag. So I was rushed back into surgery. That surgery went great and then about a week later the same thing happened again. And at this point I was incredibly critical. They took me in for surgery and um you know replaced my small intestine, cleaned up inside to prevent infection and brought me back into the shock trauma unit. And this is when I started leaving my body over the next 3 weeks multiple times. And it was the most profound experience. Um it's something you never forget. Still makes me cry because the feeling of love was so strong. But um that night my I went septic. I had intraabdominal sepsis and I developed what's called ARDS acute respiratory distress syndrome. My lungs started filling with fluid and I felt like I was suffocating. It literally felt like my my chest my heart was beating so far in my chest that it felt like it was pumping like this and I was terrified. So um it was decided I had a critical care team of about eight. They decided that I needed to be intubated to help me breathe because my oxygen levels were so low at that point and they said to my family, "Why don't you leave the room for a minute? We'll get her intubated. You can come back in." So, they went out to the hallway and suddenly they see me being rushed down the hall at a fast speed with the nurses on the bed. And I'd crashed. The next thing I remember, I am off to the side of a scene. There's a a nurse's desk to the right and I'm sitting in an area that it kind of looked like um the seating that you'd see at like a rodeo, but it was cement circular seating um multiple levels. And off to the left there was a hospital bed with nurses completely surrounding it. I couldn't see who was on the bed for a minute and as they moved back and forth I suddenly saw this young girl and she was completely terrified. I could feel her energy and I could feel the nurses and their thoughts and they were thinking she's going to die and we're going to be here when she dies and we've got to save her. She's so young. Her family, you know, they're not ready for this. And I watched for quite a few minutes before I realized that was me. I And it shocked me. I I didn't have any feeling towards this person. It was just a body. But once I realized that that body was me, it it shook me to my core because where I was at, I felt more alive than I ever ever had before. It was like this sea of this beautiful light of love. I felt so peaceful. There wasn't any pain. I just I felt like I never wanted to leave here because I was immersed in such tender love. Nothing mattered in the world. there were no worries to me about my health or finances or anything that you know a normal person would feel. And so I watched them intubate this girl and think I could just stay here forever. And the next thing I knew I woke up in my body and it was dark and I was intubated and my hands were tied to the side of the bed. But I was very confused where I was because I had been in this beautiful area and now I was back in this body that was failing and high high fevers. Um, at one point they were 107.5 and I wanted to go back to that peaceful place. I didn't know what it was, but I felt like it was home. It felt more like home than anything I'd ever experienced. So, I was in shock trauma at this point. And just over the next 3 weeks, again, just beautiful experiences. And I know that it wasn't the same um day that this happened because I was in multiple hospital rooms. I was in different ICU units throughout those three weeks. I don't know why I was given the gift of so many different ones, but I'm so grateful for it because it it made a horrific experience so much more easier to handle. If I wouldn't have had the ability to leave my body, I can't imagine being stuck in that shell the entire time. It would have been horrific. The the next experience that happened was shortly after that. It was dark at night and the nurses were in and out of my room very frequently. I was quite quite critical. I was right across from the nurses station. And one night I was just laying there watching the wall and listening to the machines. And suddenly I felt my soul leave my body at a fast fast rate. And I was in this dark area. And there was a man next to me, very close to my face, probably about that close. And he was just watching me. And he was dressed in a a suit. It was a brown um like a dark suit with a top hat. and he looked like probably from the 1800s. That was the first thing that I thought of. Wow, he doesn't look like he's from here, but he had these just sweet brown eyes, just very, very soulful and um you know, beard and a mustache. And he just he glowed with this light and I wasn't afraid of him, but the rate of speed that we were traveling was terrifying because I thought this is not possible to travel this fast and be okay. And the second thing I noticed was that I had really long hair at that time and my hair was not blowing in the wind. He wasn't his hat wasn't coming off and there was no wind around us, but I could tell it's almost like when you stick your face out the window of a car and your teeth are like that's what it reminded me of. But again, there was no wind blowing and it was completely quiet. Kind of like we're in a capsule. Um it was again scary because it didn't make any sense to me. And as I started to panic, I popped back into my body. And over the next three days, it happened multiple times. And every time I would panic and I'd pop back in my body. And I know now this is most probably the tunnel, you know, with the light at the end getting to heaven. But I never made it to the light. It was always dark. And um once the nurses realized I wasn't sleeping, they sedated me and that stopped happening. And I was quite glad because it was scary. I think if I went back now and had that experience, I'd be, you know, trying to race towards the light and it would be a different experience than what it was then. But at the time, I didn't understand it. So the next experience I had at this point, you know, I have the 107.5 degree fever and they literally packed my body in ice and they had fans all around the room, um ice cold, wet compresses over my face trying to get my fevers down and I was shaking so hard I thought my teeth were going to fall out. And I kept saying, "I need a blanket. I'm so cold." And they said, "We have to get your fevers down." And suddenly I popped out of my body and I found myself in this room that was very rectangular and tall but quite small. Um it just it was brilliant light and about 10 ft up were these there was this um almost like a shelf you know place to sit and there was this man and woman that were probably I would think if they were here in their 60s they were elderly. He had on this ruffled apron and he had on just, you know, socks and a button-down shirt. And they were just the cutest thing ever. And so I went and sat with them and they told me that they were angels that ministered to the patients in the hospital, that they were there to help heal the patients and also comfort their family. And they said that God was involved in this and that if he showed his face in the doorway that they knew that that patient was going to pass on. and they needed to help bring that person back um with them and if the patient survived and they were there to heal them and help the doctors in their healing and they you know they said you can come with us and I thought this is quite amazing and so we went to different rooms of the shock trauma and at that point I kind of knew the stories of some of my um roommates I guess the other rooms because I had been in the hospital long enough that the nurses would kind of tell me about some of the patients Um, but one of the rooms we went into was a young boy that was probably very late teens, early 20s. He had been in a car accident and he was hooked up to all of the life support machines that I was. He had his parents and his younger brother in the room as well. They were sitting in chairs and they you could feel their their sorrow. They knew that he was quite critical. And the two angels went and put their hands on the shoulders of the family. And it's almost like you could feel this light and see this light that went from their arms and their hands down to the family giving them love. And I stood in the doorway and watched and thought, "This is amazing. I could I could do this forever." And they um the boy passed on and they brought him back. And at one point when I was in that room with the angels, I saw God's face in the door. And I've had people ask me, "Do you think that's what he looks like all the time?" And I I don't I think I saw him the way I needed to see him. He could announce himself with his energy in any form and I would know it was him cuz I immediately knew him. I knew him from before I'd been born. And it was like this homecoming of love. Like I missed this soul for so long. Um not even realizing I missed him. But the minute his presence was there, it was like this just beautiful hello again. And he was just in this brilliant light. He was his energy was old, but he looked younger. If it's I don't even know how to explain it, but he had these brilliant blue piercing eyes and this iridescent white hair with a beard and a mustache, very clean shaven hair about to hear. And he was just magnificent. He had so much love. And I I felt the knowledge that he knew me as an individual person, that he loved me. No matter what I did, any wrong I'd done in life, he loved me and understood and that he'd always been with me. And that was such a a beautiful example of God's love for us. And at that point, I'd been raised in organized religion, but I wasn't ever really it just wasn't my thing. I didn't feel I don't know how to explain it, but I didn't feel like it was my um path in life. I felt very spiritual, but I felt like there was more out there for me. And seeing him gave me that knowledge that what we needed here, the most important thing is love. It's almost not how we worship, but it's how we love others. The acts of kindness that we give to others is what is important to him. And he loves all of us no matter what. We are his children. And so that was probably one of my greatest experiences um while I was there. So I I really did enjoy the time there and I was able to talk with the angels and we talked a lot about why I was giving these um trials and um what it meant for me in my life moving forward. And it was very calming to know that I wasn't always going to be this sick because at that point I felt like I was living in the hospital. I was never going to go home. I was never going to finish having surgeries. I I kept having infections and I'd have to go back in for emergency surgeries. And they had cut my stomach so many times that it just it wouldn't close. They left it open. It was shredding my skin. And I just felt like there was no hope that I would ever go home to my family. And seeing him and knowing that there was a plan helped me to feel like it was okay and that even though I was in pain at that time, it wasn't a forever thing. So, I'm I was very very grateful for that. Um, the next experience that happened and this was by far my favorite. It's had the most lasting impact on me. The fevers were so heavy that I just suddenly popped out of my body and I found myself in front of this building that was very, very tall. It's made of sandstone and it had two pillars in the front and the door was almost as tall as the top of the building. It didn't have a roof was like a slanted roof. was flat and everything around it was dirt and sand. There were there were no cars. The people that were walking were dressed in sandals and robes and they didn't look like our time, you know, what we would wear now. And I could feel this presence behind my right shoulder and I could fel feel it. It was a male presence. And I watched the building and thought, I want to go into there. This building is just full of love. You could tell there was something very profound about it. And when I thought to myself, I want to be in there. I suddenly found myself in the front inside of it and we hadn't gone through the doors and I was like, "Wow, pretty cool." And I stood and watched from the front and I could feel this presence still there. And there were people inside the building. They were reading books. There were shelves on the walls holding books and chairs and it was like they were gaining knowledge. And then the next thing I know, we're in this room and it's round and it's made of gorgeous wood. And I thought, "This is the most beautiful room I've ever seen. The wood is just striking. It was almost like it was full of energy." And every book you can imagine was in there. Um, leatherbound books, like just beautiful books. And this person, um, who I've now come to know as my guide, he opened up some scrolls that were wrapped in string and very ancient looking paper with symbols on there that I would not recognize now, but at the time I did. and he let me read through the the symbols and we had a conversation and I understood everything and the conversation was telepathic. It wasn't like you and I would talk. It was through your mind. You would think something and immediately he knew what I was thinking and he'd respond that way. And I was told, "You're not going to remember what's in this room, the books you read." And I that really hurt my soul in a way because I knew that what was in there was just incredible. And I I I really think it was the AOSIC records. But once we left that room, we were back in the entrance. And I'm not sure how long we were in that room. I know it was a while. And whatever knowledge I gained, it's it's taken from me. I don't I don't remember any of it. And I I find that very sad. But back in the entrance of the building, I looked to the right. There's a podium with a desk attached to it. Just a small desk. And I I knew I needed to go over that podium. And so suddenly we're kind of gliding towards it. And when we got to the podium, it slid to the side and there were stairs underneath it. I wasn't nervous. And so I walked down into this place. I had no idea it was down there. And this guide followed me. And when I got to the bottom, it was full of pools of water and waterfalls. and it was brilliantly lit, but there were no um like no electricity or plumbing. There was light coming in from the the windows at the top of the building. And it was all sandstone bricks. Nothing was modern at all. And I could see a waterfall with a mother and her two children. And they were just they had this euphoric joy about them as they were splashing in the water. And there was a pool of water to my right. And I knew I needed to be in that water. And so I walked towards it and went into the water and sat down and my guide sat next to me on the this um just behind me out of the water. And as I got in the water, I felt my soul. It was almost like it was dancing in joy. And the water was just it was alive. There's no other way to explain it. It was healing water. And I call it now the ancient healing waters because I could feel it healing my soul. And I was kind of, you know, splashing the water back and forth and it was making ripples and I could hear it splashing against the side, but I wasn't wet. And again, my hair wasn't getting wet in the water. And over the next few days, I was able to go to this water quite a few times. And I truly truly feel that it did heal my soul. I was given a 4% chance of survival. And my doctors tell my family, you know, she's not going to survive. There's just so many surgeries and they couldn't figure out what was going on. I mean, everything was bad. Um, my organs were shutting down, my liver, they were going to do a liver transplant. And so, when the doctor came in the room, he said, you know, your liver levels are off the charts. We are probably going to have to do a transplant. And I laughed and I said, "No, I I don't need one. I'm completely fine. I It's going to heal. I've been told that I'm not going to need this." And my liver did completely heal. I never needed a transplant. and I've never had any liver issues since that time. And if you look at my blood work back then, it was pretty pretty bad. So, the fact that I didn't need that, um, especially with the diagnosis that I had is is to me a miracle. And I talked to my mom about this and I asked her, I said, you know, I know you guys knew I was in and out of my body a lot because I would tell them, you know, I was just with my grandma or I saw Jesus in the window and he is very loving and calm and, you know, just different things. I would describe stuff to them. They were like, "Wow." So, they knew what was happening. And my family knows me enough to know that I wasn't um making stuff up. Like, if I was saying it was happening, they knew. And I was telling them stuff that I wouldn't have known otherwise. And so, in a way, I think it kind of scared them, but it kind of gave them peace. And my mom told me after that she knew that I was close to death and that she would pray that I would pass on because I was so critically ill and she hated seeing her child suffer like this. And so it gave her peace to know that if I did pass, I had family members on the other side that were there to come get me because they were in the room with me during this and I wasn't alone. And so that gave her a sense that it was going to be okay if I didn't make it. And during that time, two children and an older man would come to the foot of my bed and I would say to my mom, "There the kids are again." And she'd say, "What do they look like? You know, who are they?" And I said, I don't know who they are, but the boy has blonde koolie hair and hazel eyes. He's about 10. And the little girl, um, she was about six and she had straight blonde hair and hazel eyes. And then the older man, he had a a gray suit. And sometimes the boy would come by himself. And sometimes the man wouldn't come. And they would just stand there. And they were very comforting. I would think, okay, I don't maybe they're just here to help me. Um, kind of like the angels ministering. But they they stayed for a couple days on and off and then they they left and they didn't come back. My family would say, "Who do you think those kids were?" And I have dark hair. My husband at the time was um very tan, Portuguese, dark dark eyes, dark hair. And we for the life of us could not figure out who these kids were. And um quite a few years later, I did find out who they were, which was mind-blowing to me, but we'll get into that in a little bit. One of the the other experiences I found myself at the entrance to heaven and I knew it was the entrance. There were no gates, but I I just knew specifically that this was the point if I kept going, I would not have to return to my body. And I with all my might I have to get past this area. I cannot return to my body. It's too broken. I'm never going to be able to return to anything near healthwise. And I'm thinking I just I don't want to go back. So, I'm I have to get past this point in my mind and I'm free and I don't have to return. And my guide was with me to my be on my left shoulder as always. And I I see thousands and thousands of I knew who they were. They were ancestors and loved ones that I'd known for they were centuries old. They were ancient. And I'd known them before I'd been born. I would know them after. And they were on both sides of this entrance. And they were lit in this gorgeous, bright, brilliant light. They were lit so far I couldn't I couldn't see their faces. That they were just pure beings of light. And they were all dressed in robes and they were different heights. And they stretched on forever. And I could feel their love that they were welcoming me home. And I thought, "This is it. I don't have to go back. I am free. These people love me. They know me. And I'll be with my grandmother who had passed and had been a significant part during this experience. I've been with her multiple times. And so I thought to myself, I'm going to tell my guide that I'm just going to go see my grandma in her garden and once I get past her, I don't have to return. And I I was kind of proud of myself because I thought he thinks I'm just going to go for a little bit and I'll come back and I'm not. And of course, you know, he he can hear and think everything I'm thinking. You know, as soon as I think it, he feels it in his soul. But I just I knew I had to get past that point. And as soon as I thought that, he said, "You have to go back. It's not your time." And I immediately was back in my body. And the devastation was so strong. Um, I didn't want to be back. And I knew I'd blown it. That was my one chance I felt that I could have stayed there and not had to come back and it would have been over and I would have been back in my what I consider my real home. And, you know, I'm on a ventilator at this point. I can't tell anyone what's happened, but I'm just the depression was so strong because I thought, what if I never get this chance to leave my body again and I'm stuck in this broken shell? And after that, I still was able to leave my body, but I think it was just again a little gift of we're going to let you leave for a little bit because the pain is too profound. Um, the day they took out my ventilator, I I'd had it in for probably a week or two and they needed me to breathe on my own because I was becoming too um it was becoming to the point where, you know, I was getting too fragile and they wanted to make sure I could breathe on my own. So when they pulled the ventilator out, suddenly the wall that was in front of me became this lush green jungle and I could see the nurses working around, you know, cleaning up the supplies from removing that. And my mom was in the room with me and I could hear birds chirping and it was just beautiful. Everything was alive, the grass and the the flowers, the plants, everything was full of life and it had this loving energy. And I found myself inside of this jungle type area. And as I walked through it, I could feel the the air. It was it was just this magical area. And as I walked further into it, I found myself in this field of grass and there was a pond and there was a house attached to it that was um it was like a stone with a thatched roof, very very ancient. And there was a water wheel that was um the water was going around in the the buckets and I sat down next to that and just watched the water go around and there was flowers and um just different plants around it. And it was almost like they were swaying to this music that they had made, this music of love. And after I went back into my body, I tried to explain to my family, I want that music. A little background, I grew up in a family where my mom played the organ and the piano and I was surrounded by classical music. We would have people come to my house for practicing for performances with their violins and different musical instruments. So I was surrounded by music growing up and very pretty music. And so I finally was able to write the word music and my mom got my radio and she turned onto a a channel that was was a Sunday and it was church music like hymns and it was not the music I'd heard on the other side and it was very very upsetting to me. I just I wanted the music off. It was grading to my ears because it wasn't what I'd heard. It wasn't even close and I thought that's not what I heard. I don't want to hear that. It was like the the music I'd heard um it was frequencies that we don't have here. It was full of light and love and we don't have the ability to create that kind of music on this side. I do miss that music. Yeah, I I can't wait until I go back and I can be immersed in that again. Thank you for joining us. Coming up next in part two. Suddenly my stomach opened up and all of the infection just poured out and I could feel the fever leave my body. It was like it started at my head and just left. All the sickness I felt was gone. I didn't feel sick at all. I didn't feel like I was unhealthy whatsoever. And I said to my family, I don't need to go to the hospital. Let's call the doctor and tell him I'm okay. And I took off the hat and his coat and there was this child staring back at me that I'd seen in the hospital. But I knew that this was the child in the flesh was just incredible.
