[Music] I'm not loving you. You know you're right. I might just, but you know I'm still coming through. Baby, baby, it's bad for me. And you know it tastes so sweet. I need your [Music] boo. You did that to me. Know I love it. Yeah, I love you. Ain't nothing bad for me now. Do you, you damn, to me it's not you, better for me now, can [Music] you raise your life between your thoughts still? Ain't no excuse. [Music] I see you in my sleep. Ain't nothing you can't make me do. [Music] Baby, dam.

Hello, beautiful. Welcome back to the channel. I have a really good video for you, a video that is not up on my channel. I was literally just trying to find it, like, see what I did before. I've never filmed a video like this ever. And it's such a simple video. It is my nighttime routine. It is the routine that I do to glow up.

Because here's the thing: Maturing is realizing just how important your nighttime routine is. I think we get caught up in the aesthetics of morning routines, a 5:00 a.m. morning routine, doing all of these different things in the morning, the aesthetic of having a healthy and productive morning routine. But we forget that it's really our nighttime routine that sets us up for success. I mean, I fell into this trap, too. Really, lately on my glow-up journey, I've really focused on my nighttime routine, perfecting my nighttime routine, optimizing my sleep, and really seeing my nighttime routine as kind of like self-care and almost like a love letter to my future self. Because when I wake up, I know that my apartment is clean. I know my things are laid out, and I will have a good day because I took the time tonight to glow up. This is my everyday nighttime routine. This helps me glow up. This helps me wind down. And like I said, set my future self up for success.

I think the thing with my nighttime routine specifically, it's not about perfection. It's really just about creating a supportive environment that sets my higher self up for success. So, if this is your first time seeing my face, hello, beautiful. My name is Jasmine. I create a lot of content on how to glow up, how to become your best self. So, if that sounds like something you're focusing on, you are focusing on you this year, as you should, go ahead, hit the subscribe button, join the family. I would love to have you like this video if you don't have really a nighttime routine. Like, if you're just kind of like—I think I always thought of my nighttime routine as just kind of like the steps I do to get into my bed. Not this kind of like taking an hour at the end of my day to pour back into myself, to reset, to set myself up for success. Like I never really saw myself having like a nighttime routine. I was so focused on a morning routine. Like this video if you are in the position that I am in now and you would love to learn some tips, some glow-up hacks, some secrets that you're going to learn all in this video. And I want you to comment down below what your bedtime is and what time you wake up in the morning.

So, I define my nighttime routine starting after I've had dinner. I don't include dinner in my nighttime routine. Once I'm done with dinner, I'm done cleaning up dinner, I come into my office and I plan the next day. I check my schedule. I check any appointments that I've made. I see the stuff that I didn't finish today in terms of work. Today is Monday, and on Mondays I also do my budget right at the start of the week. To do my budget, I use Rocket Money. Like I said, they are the sponsor of today's video, but I've been using Rocket Money for 5 years now. So, I'm really excited to be partnering with them on this video because part of my glow-up and part of your glow-up too should not only just be taking care of your body and your skin, but also your finances.

If you've never heard of Rocket Money before, Rocket Money is an all-in-one personal finance app that helps you manage subscriptions, track your spending, set a budget, and stay on top of your personal finance goals. Like I said, I've been using Rocket Money for 5 years now. I literally downloaded them because I heard an influencer say that there was this app and you know, once you upload your account information, it can scan your account and see all the subscriptions that you may or may not know that you are even spending on. From there, they will literally cancel it for you. So no going through customer service or, you know, confusing processes. I tell y'all, when I did that 5 years ago and saw how much money I saved a month with things that I didn't even know that I was paying for, it got me. Now Rocket Money is free to download. You can literally go to rocketmoney.com/jazzturner. I'll have the link down in my description as well. But I personally have been using the premium version, paying for the premium version for 4 years now. Obviously, I've loved using Rocket Money to cancel those unwanted subscriptions. Lately, like today, every single Monday, I log into my Rocket Money app. That is how I set and I track my budget. With Rocket Money, you can create a customized budget within seconds. The app shows you where your money is going at all times. So that's why I like to do this weekly on Mondays. Rocket Money identifies your top spending habits and gives you insights on how to stay within your budget better. They will also notify you about upcoming charges and fees or when your balance is low to help you avoid those overdraft and annoying fees. I've saved a lot of money with Rocket Money. I've put friends and family onto Rocket Money. That's why I'm putting you on because y'all are my sisters, my girls, and I want you to have a financial glow-up, too. And Rocket Money is the number one way to help you. So again, go to rocketmoney.com/jturner. I also include the link down below. It's absolutely free to download. Sis, I would recommend the premium version. I've been paying for it for years. A ton of y'all have said that you've loved it. Let me know if you try it and love it. Thank you so much, Rocket Money, for sponsoring today's video and supporting this community.

So, it's like I said, every Monday I do my budget. It is also the start of April, so I'm also just kind of looking at my calendar. There's a lot of exciting things happening this month. Y'all know that I signed to a new agency, and with this new agency, they're keeping me booked and busy. I'm talking about meetings with brands, events. This week, I'm doing a live podcast show with the Balance Black Girl podcast. It is now rebranded into the She's So Lucky or She's Lucky podcast. So, we have that this week. So, I, I needed to just plan everything out. I needed to budget everything out. So that is the first step of my nighttime routine.

I also want to make a note: I was listening to the Mel Robbins podcast. She has an amazing, amazing podcast on how to perfect your nighttime routine, and she made a very interesting point, and it's like it's interesting, but it's like really simple. She was basically like the first thing that you need to do is you need to set a bedtime. And she was like, "A lot of us be like, okay, we need to wake up at 6:00 in the morning, so we'll go to bed at 11:00. We'll get like 7 hours of sleep, or we need 8 hours of sleep. We'll go to bed at 10:00." But in reality, you don't get in your bed at 10:00 and then automatically go to sleep. You usually spend 30, 45 minutes like checking last-minute messages, even though I like to put my phone away, but checking messages, reading books, winding down, whatever it might be. So, she was basically saying like if you want to go to bed at 10:00, you need to be in your bed, physically in your bed at 9:00 p.m. It's, it was just mind-blowing to me. So, I've really been adapting that, and you'll see a lot of the tips and tricks that Mel Robbins gives in that podcast in this nighttime routine. She greatly helped me kind of like, I don't know, I have a solid nighttime routine. This entire routine takes me about an hour to do. So, I'll usually have dinner around like 7:00, 7:30, and I will start this nighttime routine at 8:00 p.m. That'll last me until 9:00. I'll get in my, I'll physically get into my bed at 9:00, and then I'll try to go to bed around 10:00 or 10:30, but sometimes I just get so wrapped up in my book. So, that's what time it is currently. I mean, obviously I've been talking to y'all. It is currently 8:23.

The next thing on our list right now is winding down. I really, really, really want to stress the importance of creating a calm and peaceful environment during your nighttime routine. Not only does this, like, obviously reduce stress, but it improves sleep quality. I really like to romanticize this part of my day. It's these like little small rituals like lighting a candle or turning on soft music that help signal my brain that it's time to slow down. So, that is what I do. I light a candle. Tonight I'm playing lofi jazz. It is one of my favorite playlists on Apple Music. I like to make myself a cup of chamomile tea or sleepy-time tea right when I've kind of like set the mood for everything, especially so that it has time to cool down while I take a shower.

Now, I want to emphasize taking a shower at the beginning of your nighttime routine. There is something about feeling clean and getting out of the shower that puts me into overdrive to do my nighttime routine. Maybe I'm just this way, but that's like one of the first things I do. Like I play some music, I make myself a cup of tea, I light all my candles, and I take a shower. It doesn't have to be anything extensive. This isn't like my Sunday self-care routine. Like, it's very, very simple. I do a couple of washes with one of my favorite body washes. Today is Monday, so I'm using a retinol body cream. And I also like to smell good when I go to sleep, so I definitely put on deodorant and a bit of spritz.

Now, let's get into this skincare routine. I like to keep my skincare routine pretty light at night. One thing I have been doing is I've been including glycolic acid into my nighttime routine. And the thing with glycolic acid soap is that you need to leave it on the skin for a little bit. So I will double cleanse. I'll use an oil-based cleanser. And then I will go in with my glycolic acid. I will let that sit on my face, and I will go ahead and I will water floss. I will brush my teeth. And then I will wipe off the soap. [Music] Then I put on any type of like hydrating toner. I read somewhere that you're actually supposed to put on toner before using your red light therapy mask. And the thing about my red light therapy mask, it is like my ultimate nighttime habit stack hack. So I do this red light therapy mask for about 10 to 20 minutes depending on how fast I'm really kind of doing my nighttime routine. But the thing with the red light therapy mask that I do is not only am I playing music, am I winding down? Sometimes I'm even playing like an audiobook or a podcast, but I am relaxing. I am doing my skincare routine. And then I go downstairs, and I almost treat this like a power 10 minutes, a power 20 minutes. And I clean up my kitchen, my living room, my office. I clean up everything while I'm doing my red light therapy mask. [Music] And right before I go back upstairs to finish up my skincare routine, I take my supplements. So, the first thing I take is magnesium. This has been really, really helpful to help me wake up in the morning. I take a tribiotic from Array. This has like gut, vaginal, just like an all-in-one kind of supplement. And those are really the ones that I've kind of been consistent with lately. For some reason, I just forget to take my supplements in the morning. Like, my brain is just not wired. Like taking my supplements at night has been so hardwired into my [Music] brain.

All right, so let's head back upstairs and finish this skincare routine. [Music]

Okay, y'all, we are back. The downstairs is all clean and tidy. Right now, I'm just finishing up my skincare routine. I'm back on the Topicals Faded. This stuff used to like really break me out, but this time—but I know so many people like die by this product, like they swear by it. So, I wanted to start using it again and really kind of like read the instructions. One of the things it says is to apply to clean, dry skin. So, I really only have that toner on, and it's all seeped into my skin because of the red light therapy mask. So, I'm applying it to clean, dry skin. It says don't use any other actives on the face. I did use glycolic acid, but this has glycolic acid in it. So, I didn't think that that was too bad. But what I've been doing is right after my red light therapy, and I do this like probably max three times a week, but I only put it in the places that I really need to fade it. So, I don't put it all over my face. I only put it in specific areas, and I rub it in until it's all soaked into the skin. That was my other problem with Topicals Faded. It would peel on me. It would peel no matter what I would do. Also, I feel like there's a lot of strong ingredients in this. So, what I would do is I would usually put this on in the daytime because I'm like, "Oh, a serum. Like, it can be my daytime serum." No, girl. Like, this is too powerful. So, I've been doing it at night. And I've honestly just been doing like the glycolic acid soap. Then, I will do like a toner and my red light therapy mask. I'll do this. And then I will use a nighttime moisturizer. And I do that three times a week. And then on the other days, I just use my normal um retinol. And honestly, I've been liking it. Japan like really ruined my skin. Like my skin was freaking out on my birthday. I'm kind of having to deal with the residuals of that. And then also I'm on the spironolactone. So those are a couple skincare updates.

As you can see from the tail end of that clip, one of my biggest glow-up secrets, and Mel Robbins kind of just put a name to it, is reducing decision fatigue in the morning. So, I like to prep my entire morning. I like to lay out, you know, my preworkout, my protein shake, my Stanley cup, my water. I'm about to lay out my gym outfit. I make sure everything is laid out. I really, really take time to prep my space, my schedule, so that tomorrow I can be calm and relaxed. I'm waking up earlier tomorrow. I have a 6:30 a.m. hot matte Pilates class. So, I just want to literally be able to wake up and go. I even like lay out my skincare routine and everything like that. This really, really helps with discipline and consistency. When you have everything kind of done for you, you almost kind of like look forward to using those products. You look forward to wearing that outfit that you laid out. And this really, really helps staying consistent with your routines. Your nighttime routine should be rebranded into like your glow-up hour. This is when your body heals. This is when your body restores. This is when you can use like those stronger actives on your skin to work overnight. I just really love treating this time like my sacred time. And honestly, if you don't have a nighttime routine set up, your morning routine is going to fail every single time.

So, right now, I am finishing up my skincare routine. I've been kind of slugging with this Wolita Skin Food Ultra Rich Cream. They have a light version, but I think my skin really likes this stuff. It is pretty heavy, so I definitely wouldn't wear this in the daytime, but nighttime's great. Also really like the L'Oreal Midnight Cream. This stuff is a little expensive, but it's very, very good. I really, just to prepare for tomorrow, I like using something really rich, really creamy, so it can soak into my skin overnight so I'm left with a really soft and glowing skin in the morning. If this was a self-care night, I would use an overnight mask. Laneige has a great overnight mask. I think Youth to the People has a great overnight mask. Or you could use one of those Korean skincare masks. I think my favorite one is by um Biodance. It's like a collagen pink one, and you put it on and then it like dissolves into your skin. You can also use Vaseline, which literally put butt paste on your face, and it has zinc oxide. If you've really kind of like damaged your skincare barrier or your skin barrier, then that is great. Just anything that you can put on overnight that's going to work on your skin overnight.

Lastly, I don't care whether people say this is pointless or not. I love a good eye cream. I love something like extra rich underneath my eyes. Having a dry under-eye literally is a fast-track way of like premature aging. So, really making sure I put on a really good under-eye cream. This one is the like infamous K's Creamy Avocado. I think the main takeaways are just, you know, using your actives. There's something a little bit stronger overnight. I also like doing my skincare at least an hour before I really kind of like put my head on a pillow just to make sure that all of those products are actually soaked into my skin.

The next thing that I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be doing some overnight curls. I've been testing a few different methods for overnight curls. Like this one gives more so overnight waves, I would say, but still pretty effective. I typically just kind of have my hair in like a half-up, half-down, how you saw earlier. So, I'm not really pressed on having um perfect curls, but I did try sock curls the other day, and it was uncomfortable to sleep in, but man, did my hair look beautiful. So, anything that you can do to wake up and have your hair just kind of like look put together and effortless and easy. Again, using this next 6, 8, 10 hours to really glow up is key. I'm just securing this one. See, the issue is is I'm low-key a side sleeper. So, a lot of these like overnight curl methods are like not meant for side sleepers. But I think with the sock curls, I think I need to get like longer socks for my long hair. I'll probably make like a TikTok or an Instagram on the socks because I've tried the overnight blowout. It honestly didn't really do much for my hair, but these old-fashioned, you know, get-ready-with-me curls that you see all the TikTok girlies have will do the job for some really pretty waves.

I also want to mention the importance of like a really good matching pajama set. It makes you feel so feminine and so much like that girl. Honestly, y'all, most of my sets are from um Skims. Really, really high-quality pajama wear, but I know Amazon has some great ones. Aerie has some great ones. Aerie has some of my favorite pajamas. But these just have like candy hearts on them. I feel so cute.

Last kind of glow-up before I take out my contacts and put on my glasses: We are going to do some deodorant and some spray. I've been using the Lumi whole body um deodorant, and I've really, really, really been liking this. And then honestly, the last, last thing I do before I leave the bathroom is I set out my morning skincare routine. So we are going to do that, and then we are going to get into the bed. [Music] I don't know. [Music] It has been a busy day, and now it is time to wind down and relax. As you survey your day, just get to look back on the events with kindness and compassion. [Music]

Welcome back, cutie pie. Okay, so we're all snuggled up in the bed. A couple of points that I want to make about the environment: One, you all saw me spray that room spray. It's a really like calming kind of scent. Um, again, I really like to set the mood and kind of signal to my brain to wind down. And whenever I smell that scent, I know it is time to go to sleep. So, I spray my room with that. I also like to sleep with it at around like 68, 67°. Your body physically needs to cool down in order to enter REM sleep. So, I make sure to have it nice and cool in here. My bedding is also really cool and nice. It's a linen material. It's from Parachute. Um, I also really like Brooklyn Linen has some amazing sheets, but your sheets and your bedding all kind of go into, you know, the environment that you create to get the best sleep possible.

Other things that I want to mention as well, um, some like glove secrets: Obviously, I am drinking my chamomile tea. Um, all devices kind of have been off this entire nighttime routine. I'm very much on do not disturb, but this is the best sleeping mask ever. It is from Drowsy. It is expensive. This will change your life. Like, if this doesn't change your life, you can literally just DM me and be like, "This didn't do anything for me." This will change your life. This will get you the deepest, most restful sleep possible. I have the one for eyelashes, but the one without um like that little eyelash—like it has like little divots in it. I'm obsessed with these. These come in a whole bunch of different colors. I also do mouth taping. Obviously, I need to talk to y'all, but I'm about to put on some mouth tape. These are the ones from the Skinny Confidential. They come in this really cute case. They just look like this. So, they do have like a little slit to breathe. You will not die in your sleep—that is really good for—technically, you're supposed to be breathing out of your nose. So when we breathe out of our nose, it's almost like an automatic filter. But if when we breathe out of our mouth, you know, you, you don't know what kind of—you're breathing in. So this also really, really helps with sleep. And I also wake up with more energy whenever I do this. So I make sure to do these two. If I happen to take a nap during the day, I will take two of these. Let me sleep. These have melatonin and magnesium, but again, we've had our magnesium in already, and we haven't kind of been looking at screens like that.

Last thing that I do is I keep a glass of water right by my nightstand table. It's the first thing I do when I wake up. Um, I have my Hatch alarm. Um, I have the dimmed setting and everything like that. So, we are all good to go. I like my entire nighttime routine is all about feeling safe, feeling soft, feeling held, feeling like I'm like loving myself. The way you end your day is the exact energy that you're going to start with. So, I hope you have really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for joining me. Again, thank you so much Rocket Money for sponsoring today's video. I will have more information down in the description. Let me know if you try out this um nighttime routine. It only takes me an hour, but like I feel so good. Let me share with you the book that I'm reading. I'm reading the third book from the Blood and Ash series. This is The Crown of Gilded Bones. I'm about to read my book and go to sleep. So, I will talk to you later. I hope you have a beautiful night. I'll see you in the next video. Bye, girl. [Music]
