Before we begin today's lesson, I want to remind you of the three rules that you need to follow to make the best out of this course. First, try to stay comfortable and relaxed. Second, repeat out loud until you get the pronunciation right. And third, don't be shy. You need to answer my questions as if you were right here in this classroom. Ready? Let's dive right in.
The word for English in Arabic. Let's break it down into syllables and say them one by one. [Music] Liia. Come on, one more time. Say it with [Music] me. Perfect pronunciation. Remember the word for "I understand"? The word for English? Yes. Now let's say "I understand English." As I said in the previous videos, if there's another word that would come after the verb, I hook an "o" sound at the end. It goes like this. You may also say that is correct too.
Remember the word for "very well" or "well"? Once more, say "very well." Yes. Now let's say in Arabic, "I understand English very well." Good job.
Remember the word for "I learn" in Arabic? The use of personal pronouns with verbs is not strictly necessary. These personal pronouns are often included for emphasis or clarification because the conjugation itself of the verb already conveys the information about the subject. So, using or omitting the personal pronoun doesn't affect the meaning. So, as I explained, you may say. Let's try it with the sentence. Try to say it without "Anna," without saying "I." That's right.
The word "and" in Arabic is "wa." "Wa." Once more, "wa." For instance, if I want to say "English and Arabic," I would say. Once more, say it with me. Very good.
Now, "speak in Arabic" is. Once more, "speak" is. Yes. "I speak" is. Say one more time. Very good. Now let's say "I speak English and Arabic." You can pause the video and write your answer down in the comments. Great job. Come on, try it. Say it out loud.
Now, listen carefully to how we say "I understand English" and "I want to speak Arabic." Listen carefully. "I understand English." "Wa" and "I want to learn Arabic." You can pause the video and say it many times, as much as you need.
The word for "with you" (you, when I'm speaking to a male) is "ma'ak." "With" is "ma'." When I add it, it means I'm talking to a male. Repeat after me. Remember how to say "speak"? "I speak." Now, to get the form "to speak," "to speak," I say. Repeat after me.
Now let's say "I want to speak Arabic." Come on, say it with me. Now say "I want to speak with you" (you, when you're addressing a male). You say. Repeat after me. Now say "I want to speak with you." Great job. Was your answer correct? Very good.
Now, as we progress, feel free to pause, rewind, and practice. Now let's expand your vocabulary. The word for "yes" is. Once more. Now let's say "Yes, me too." Listen carefully. Repeat after me. "Yes." Literally, "Ana" means "I." "I" means "to me too."
Now say "I want to speak Arabic too." "I want to speak Arabic too." Literally, you would say, "Me too, I want to speak Arabic." Try it. Yes. You wouldn't say "twice." You would say it just once. Repeat again.
Now say "I speak English very well too." Literally, you would say, "Me too, I speak English very well." Come on, repeat after me. The second time. Great job.
Remember the word for "a little bit"? Yes. Repeat after me. Now say "I speak Arabic a little bit too." Literally, you would say, "Me too, I speak Arabic a little bit." Try to pause the video and write me the answer in the comments below. Great job.
