Welcome to Stanford Truth Podcast. Today I have a special guest who's come all the way from America and a couple of guests here. This is the first time I'm interviewing three people. Um, welcome Father Lawrence Carney to Stanford Truth Podcast and welcome to Australia.
Thanks for having me. It's my first time here in Australia today.
Well, that's great to have you here. And I also got Bridget Sika who I've interviewed before. So, everyone knows Bridget. Thank you, Bridget.
Thank you, Charlie.
And Shabel R from Parisa Media, who I think most of you know who he is. And I've interviewed Shabel as well. So, it looks like the Holy Spirit's guided us here tonight today. So, thank you, Shabel.
Yeah, good to be here. Thank you. God bless.
Father, do you mind if you start off with the prayer or we start a podcast off with the prayer?
In the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and of the hour of our death. Amen.
Our Lady of the Holy name of God, pray for us. All our patron, saints, and guardian angels, pray for us. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Amen.
Thank you, Father. God bless you. Um, this is uh amazing having you here, especially for the first time coming to Australia. So, so father, I I've I've never really seen any of your stuff until Bridget told me about you and especially about the Holy Face. So, we're going to discuss that and I'd like to ask Bridget firstly. So, Bridget, you you're behind bringing Father out here. Is that correct? And and Shab from Peruy Media.
Yeah. Heartfelt Community uh is um behind um sponsoring Father to come out to Australia. Uh what touched my heart was um when I started to listen to father Lawrence Carney um about the devotion to the holy face um and after reading his book the secret of the holy face especially when you've you know you're in grief and you are suffering um the devotion very much reminds you that you're not suffering alone uh and it and it focuses on the five senses of Christ.
This brings it back to heartfelt. So heartfelt obviously is about accompanying people in grief and and we everything we do has Christ in the center of what we do and I thought it was very fitting that um Heartfelt brings Father Lawrence Carney to speak about the devotion um and I thought you know I mean I've been very blessed uh since Verique um and her cousins entered eternal life to meet the most amazing people all three of you are amazing and um Shabbel R through Prisia we've talked about doing something together and I feel you know through prayer Christ said to me you know you know speak to shell and could we do this together and evangelize and and bring out father Lawrence Carney. So yeah, so that's uh when we asked father Lawrence Carney, myself and Brian Wen who is he's um he's an advocate of the devotion, he said, Bridget, why don't we ask why don't we ask Father Lawrence Carney? So we had a you know we made a time and I said to father you know community would like to invite you and he said yes and you know we talked about timing and we talked about after divine mercy Sunday and uh what a blessing it is to have you here father. Absolutely blessing and and you know what look people that are watching who don't know what the holy face is uh we will be asking a lot of questions because I've got a lot of questions fired up about this um and shelissa media you're always behind the big names that come out from all around the world so is that how you got tied up with this.
Yeah, thank a year ago Bridget reached out told me do I know about the devotion I heard of it but um I I knew of the medal which I wear the whole which has got the shroud of trin face and I thought okay a lot of people know my story how I saw the vision of Jesus's.
Yes. Wow.
In the form of the shroud of trin. So there was a personal connection. But then I wasn't too familiar with the other devotion, the Veronica's veil devotion. And then that's when I started getting into it and I learned that there was a book and I started to look into that. And then 10 books published it. And when Bridget said, "Let's do it after divine mercy Sunday." I said, "All right, count me in." And so.
This is the first time we're collaborating like this. And it's quite exciting. It's been wonderful working. the heartfelt community been blessed and it's been great to meet so many people and and thank God we now have the books printed in Australia. Father's here in the flesh and.
Here we go.
Beautiful. No, thanks Shabel and I've known you for what 30 years now.
Oh my goodness. Uh it's a long time. So this is great. Now I do want to get into talking about the holy face. But before we do that, father just want to find out a little bit because I and probably my audience not everyone knows about you. So, I did read up a bit about you where there was some stories where you were actually um walking with a rosary in a crucifix and preaching in the streets and stuff like that. But before we go to that, how did you become a priest if you don't mind me asking?
Oh, yeah. That story is pretty good because our Lord wrote it. I was six years old at kindergarten at St. Joseph Church in Witchah, Kansas, and a Redempterous priest came in with his his habit. Their collars are inverted, so they're a little different than the one that I wear. But he gave each of us a holy card of our lady of perpetual help. And he explained the card and he said, "Children, hold the card out and move it back and forth and look at her eyes. She's always there to help you." And I saw real eyes at the age of six. And I thought, "Wow, if a priest can do that, I want to be a priest."
Wow. So alls I remember in kindergarten was at 10:00 we went to school from 8:00 to 12:00. At 10 o'clock we got graham crackers and milk and we put out a mat and took a 5minute nap. And then I remember that picture of our lady uh brought me into the priesthood and I ran away from the priesthood because it's a hard thing to think about giving up marriage and not having children. But our Lord hit me with a couple 2 by 4s and and so I came into the priesthood and I love it every uh as I live now every day. Uh love being a priest. A priest is the most powerful man in the world.
Amen. Amen.
It's beautiful.
And you um you so you started off at a young age in the priesthood.
I actually ran away for 19 years up to 25. So when I went back to that kindergarten room.
Ran away. What what do you mean? I ran away from the priesthood because it was hard.
Okay. Okay.
You get it? So when I went back to that kindergarten classroom, it had changed into an adoration chapel and where the the monstrance was.
I'm thinking, well.
The Holy Eucharist was there and that's where the priest's face was. And God knows how to write the beautiful stories in those few 15 seconds. It's the only extraordinary vision I've ever had was seeing our lady's um eyes on the prayer card. But I'm the priest that goes around the world now preaching about the holy face of Jesus because the face of Mary drew me in. The face of that priest drew me in. And the eucharistic free the eucharistic face of Jesus in the eukarist brought me to become the priest that preaches about the holy face of Jesus which is a devotion that is destined to save society.
Wow. That's amazing. And and and I was talking about the they called you the was it the walking priest where you'd walk around with a crucifix and a rosary for five years. When was that? Was that before CO or.
Yes, in St. Joseph, Missouri. That was my practice ground. And I still do it in Witchah. My bishop has given me permission to keep doing it. And there's always new stories. The latest was I was at a I'll call it a pro, which is Creek Trip gas station. And this lady said, "Father, my children, I'm trying to get them baptized in the Protestant church, but it's just not happening." I said, "Well, go to my church, St. Joseph. get baptized there. It's the Catholic church. And then two years later, I'm walking in front of the church going to mass and she's walking out. Father, you won't believe it. Remember when you told me that? Well, I got my two children baptized and I came into the Catholic church. I'm like, great. That's a wonderful story.
Amazing. Amazing how the Holy Spirit works. It's it's amazing. Have you been when preaching or on the streets, have you had people come up to you in in an awkward way where you know why why you dressed like this? I had some nuns that I interviewed then and they were in America and people thought they were dressed up for Halloween. Halloween. Have you had any incidents like that where people, you know, didn't know you were a priest or thought it was a bit weird or any type of persecution in that way?
Yeah, I get some. I don't remember very many of the stories because it's about 2% of the people.
Oh, wow. Okay.
It's not very much. So, it doesn't really bother me at all. But I try to be gentle and calm to them and explain. And my key is every time I meet someone, I want them to when they see me to come and want to talk to me again. And I always want to tell the truth though, but as a priest ought to, I like to be gentle and draw them into the the one, you know, the the Holy Catholic Church, the the church that Jesus gave us where it's the only church we can be saved.
Amen.
What was the what was the purpose of the street in Were you just doing it randomly or there special um like was it a special anniversary or what was the reason why you're on the streets?
Um, so when I I asked my bishop Jacobs in Witchah if I could discern uh being a priest, maybe our Lord wanted me to do something different and I was drawn to the traditional Latin mass. So he gave me a leave of absence. I decided to walk the Camino uh from France all the way to Santiago and it was 31 days. We camped out every night except Sunday nights.
Is that the St. Joseph Camino?
It's the No, the Camino up in Spain. So St. Joseph, Missouri is a different city. It's in USA, but this is in Spain.
And so people I wore my Cassic. So people kept coming up to me and talking. And my friend John said, "John, let's count how many people talk to me today." And it was 31. And multiply that by 30, that's almost a thousand contacts. So I when I became a chaplain of some nuns up in Missouri, we asked the bishop if I could keep doing that just in the city and he had no problem with it. So that's how I started doing it.
How how frequently were you doing it?
Every day except Sunday I would take the day off.
Wow.
And then uh.
For about five years, correct?
Yeah, five years there. But now I've done it for almost five years in Witchah. So it's almost 10 years now. And then a publisher found a news feed because the the local newspaper wanted to do an article and it was really a good article. And then she said, "Can you write a book?" I said, 'What about? Just write about the stories. I said, "Really? I would love to. I've been praying that someone would ask." So that's how I got known to the rest of the world is through this book called Walking the Road to God.
And then one thing led to another and I wrote for Tan and now I'm here in Australia.
Have you got that book? Uh have you got that book?
I haven't got that one. So, who publishes that first book?
It's called Kery Toss Press out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Okay.
Younger. Yeah.
Yeah. Sherry Boaz and her daddy was the toughest sheriff in America. Joe ParrO in in Maricopa County. He was tough on criminals.
Yeah.
Wow. And the Holy Face. So for the audience watching who will probably go to the the next two weeks here that you're here will go to these events. But just to introduce them to the Holy Face cuz I I was a bit shocked that I didn't know about it until Bridget mentioned it to me. Can you please explain to us what the Holy Face is because we most of us have heard of the Shroud of Tin. This is different to the shroud of Tyrin. Correct.
Yes, it is. It's the veil Veronica.
So.
So Veronica who wiped Jesus' face.
Yes. Yeah. So the face of God is mentioned 840 times in holy scripture and his countenance 101. So that's almost a thousand times. And so St. TZ was a member of the arch confront the holy face and I'll get to that in just a second. But when she would read the psalm she would say it's as if every other page the holy face of god would jump out at her. So Veronica which is we uh blessed an Katherine Emer has also named her Saraph Saraphina because she was that great mystic blessed an Katherine Emer that could see into the past like a movie and she could gather these facts. So Veronica wiped the face of Jesus and then she went to Rome to show the emperor this veil because he was suffering from a malady. Some thinks it was leprosy and he was healed on the spot.
Actually she kept the the v.
Yep. She brought it up from Jerusalem into Rome and then she gave that the veil to Pope St. Clement I. So the popes have been custodians ever since the fourth pope. So this devotion is about the veil of Veronica during the passion of Jesus because when Jesus was walking with his cross, Veronica or Saraphina wiped his face and he left probably the first photograph ever onto uh fine Egyptian linen because these women would wear these veils and they would out of friendship and courtesy they would give it to their friends so they could wipe their face because walking around and the heat of Jerusalem and they they would get a little dust and that that was just a courtesy but she did it to Jesus and Jesus left her the imprint so that's where.
So so when she sorry if I ask some crazy questions but when she wiped the face of Jesus what was actually was there blood what was on the actual veil back then do.
It was his countenance so his whole face showed up.
Oh straight away.
Yeah, sort of like you can take the photograph and put it on there.
Okay.
Before we had photograph.
Wow. Wow.
Yeah.
Her name is telling too. Veronica.
Which is true icon.
That's right.
True icon. That's what Veronica's name.
Give me goosebumps now. Veronique. Is that the leader in as well?
I didn't even make that connection.
Absolutely.
Veronica. Well, my goodness.
Well, I did name my daughter after St. Veronica who wiped the face of Jesus. Wow. But not knowing at the time. That'll be.
Yeah. Because Veronica Giuliani, no one knew about her when your daughter was born back then.
That's another one. Now, now we're going three way here.
No, but say Veronica Giuliani. That's right. Everyone knew about about 10 years ago. She wasn't born there. So So she would have named her after.
That's right.
Yeah.
Wow.
Okay.
But there's a lot just just happened in that few seconds. What?
Yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Most of the audience will see the connection there. That's it's Yeah. So, okay. So, Veronica had the the this value and they Where do they keep this? Thank you so much for watching Stanford Truth podcast. We've noticed that more than 95% of you guys aren't subscribing to our podcast. Yeah. So, it was stored in the catacombs for many years because they were afraid of the invaders stealing their treasures, which that was one of the greatest treasures. And then the pope changed the Pantheon, which was a pagan temple, into a Catholic church. And he brought the veil out and and put it in there. And then in when they built St. Peter's on the Vatican, that's when they moved it into St. Peter's. And now it's there.
It's it's by the papal altar on the uh epistle side. It's and there's four pillars that hold up the coupula of St. Peter's. And it's it's in the second level of one of those pillars behind brass doors and it only comes out once a year right now on Passion Sunday during.
So going back to the holy face on the veil. Um, what do the other churches for example the Orthodox or the Coptic or Protestant churches think of this? Do they do they recognize this or why is it the Catholic church that has this veil and not the other churches?
Just.
Yeah. His Veronica brought it to to Rome to to to heal the emperor.
And.
And the emperor was healed.
He was healed on the spot from his probably leprosy.
And the chief patron of the devotion to the Holy Face is St. Peter. So it's at St. Peter's where he was crucified upside down. And if you go on the scave tour, his bones are inside one of the columns of one of the original altars of St. Peter's Basilica.
Okay.
So there's those all those connection. So the valvronica is above all that.
And so it's really there's a he's the prince of the apostles and St. Paul is the doctor of the Gentiles. And so these two are usually together in the liturgy. And so St. Peter is a leader of the diosin priesthood. And this devotion was presented by Canon Javier who was a diosin priest. So it's what's interesting is this devotion came to Carmealite sister Mary St. Peter in the 1840s, but Father Huan Vieier was the one who was responsible for bringing this confraternity to Pope Leo I 13th who elevated it to an arch confaternity and that means that this devotion is not pro private but it's public and an arch confaternity is supposed to last until the end of time and it's a spiritual army. That's what I love about it so much is I'm an analyst and I read the manual of the arch conferring of the holy face that was printed in 1887. It's a gem. We've probably sold 10,000 of them in the United States.
Wow.
And if people read that, they can see the architecture of how God built this to destroy the revolution that's underway.
So when you're saying it was 1849.
That's when there was a miracle in Rome.
Okay. Okay. Cuz I was going to say what? So in that 17,800 years in between, not many people knew about or.
Oh, they knew about it.
Okay.
It's just that it's been eclipsed now. Very few people know about the val of Veronica.
Yeah. Cuz everyone knows about the shroud of Trin.
Yeah.
So the shroud of Tin is completely diff a different that was.
That was um wrapped around Jesus.
After his crucifixion. Correct.
Yeah. I tell people simply the valeronica represents the passion. The shroud of turn represents the death. The velonopella represents the resurrection. And so the church is going through her passion right now. So this devotion is for our times.
Wow. Wow.
Same same Jesus different uh stages in so yeah.
Before death then there's the death and then resurrection. So I've seen a lot of stuff on YouTube where they, you know, try to prove that the shroud of Trin isn't real or a lot of lot of stuff is coming up now that saying they prove that it is authentic and stuff. Have they had the same situations with the veil? Have people tried to prove it that it's not real or etc.
Some people are trying to say that the veil is not there anymore, that it was stolen 500 years ago. And the problem is that there was a miracle in 1849. So Pope blessed Pis the 9th was attacked by the Freemasons and they stole away the papal states. And so that was where the the pope he got his income from there and then Peter's Pence had to start and so then they the Catholics all over the world supported the pope. So he became weaker and weaker and so they they attempted the freemason attempted to take his life a couple times. So he exiled himself in a gada a city outside of Rome and he commanded that all the churches of Rome do some kind of public reparation. So the cannons of St. Peter's silica took the veil out for three days, which was unheard of. It is such a precious gem. And what they did is they covered the veil with a a thin piece of cloth to to keep it protected from the elements. So it wasn't glass, it was cloth that covered it. But what happened is the face of a man appeared on that cloth with a a shining light. It was like a movie picture. And the cannons were looking now. You can't become a cannon of St. Peter in the 1840s unless you got some marbles up here. So these guys were very reasonable men and they were moving around and they thought they were seeing a mirage their mind but they called the Vatican arch or the notary and said can you pro can you notify can you notoriize this and he said yeah it's a miracle. So they rang the bells of St. Peters and the Romans came flocking in and they were going ooing and eyeing and it was a talk of Rome for months and so this miracle these people are saying ah it's not there it's the supposed miracle but the problem is this miracle was recorded on the Vatican day books and so that's historical information he's basically there's there's a priest out there that's calling these cannons liars that they made all this stuff up but this is historical fact I haven't seen the Vatican day book, but there was an author who wrote a dissertation on the Holy Face of Jesus um at a con at a at a monastery in New Jersey called the Holy Face. And so he got this approved and it's it's a book written by Paidka. So if we look at history and look at the facts, I think that the burden of proof is on those who say the veil is not there. Why would God have a miracle?
Yeah, that's right.
In 1949 or 1849, unless he had a reason. He always He's always got a reason for miracles.
That's true.
And this miracle didn't stop there. A man by the name of Venerable Leota, he got a copy of one of these that was touched to this veil of Veronica. And there were 6,000 to 10,000 certified miracles that God worked through him. How many miracles?
6,000 to 10,000 certified miracles from the year like 1951 till about 1851 to 1876.
It's like a old school St. Shel.
And that's St. Vincent Ferrer is there's a few people Yeah. St. Charel there's only a few that have performed that many miracles but he Venerable Pont wasn't even a priest.
Oh really?
Yeah. Because I I perform a miracle every day. It's called the holy sacrifice of the mass. But extraordinary miracles like St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Charll, they they would people go to their tomb and be healed. So this is a layman doing this. So God, I mean, you know, before I became a seminarian, I was in investments and I had to find growth companies that had ratios that were going to be big stars someday. So I took off that business hat and put on a Beretta. You know, that's the like the crown of thorns that a priest wears at a traditional mass. I saw this devotion. I thought, whoa, this devotion is gold. It can do so many things. It can defeat revolution. It can bring about the triumph of the immaculate heart. And it can also restore the kingship of Christ the king so that every nation will become Catholic. It's just packed. And I I I'm just one priest that's talking about it. I pray that Morio and priests will find this devotion like St. TZ did.
So St. TZ of Lzu or St. Theres the little flower. She was alive around the time of the devotion. Correct.
Yeah. She was one of the first members to sign up to the arch confer of the Holy Face in 1885, the first the year it was it was elevated in Arch Confaternity. And so she signed up before she became a nun. And when she went to the convent, her blood sister, Mother Agnes, was superior for three years. And she basically said, TZ, up until this time, you've been devoted to the Holy Face. Now you need to mature your devotion and focus on the the face of Jesus and his passion, the bell of Veronica. And she knew this because she was a member of the Arch Confraternity before she went to the convent. So when you see her writings, you look at the arch confer manual and you see she picked a lot of things out of there. And so the biggest secret is she made giant steps in the interior life after she was devoted not only to the child Jesus but to the holy face of Jesus. And she was required to read the autobiography of sister Maria St. Pierre who we haven't even talked about in this interview yet. Jesus came to her with revelations from 1843 to 1848 and they're amazing. And the one that I like the most is Jesus said, "My father is greatly disappointed with the human race for two reasons. For blasphemy and not worshiping Jesus or not worshiping God on Sundays and holy days of obligation. And my father's not going to punish the home human race so much with the elements but with the scourge of revolutionary men." So that phrase, the scourge of revolutionary men, I read that during co and I thought, wow, I just had so much peace cuz God is in charge.
He's giving us this punishment.
Amen.
And he could take it away.
When did you write this book?
2022.
Okay. So after co.
So I was writing it during CO, but it got published in 2022.
Wow. I've got I've just got something I have to say right now and Bridget will know but I I don't think father Lawrence will know about this. So during co the accident with Veronic Bridget's daughter and her cousins.
And Veronic's second name is Theres by the way.
Veronic's second name is Theres.
This happened during co.
Wow.
At the beginning of co and I remember posting I got goosebumps cuz we're at St. Mark was in Bellefield and they brought the parents um relics of St. Theresa of Lazour and her body to Australia.
It was delayed and it arrived on the day of the accident of.
The.
Yeah.
So we were at St. Michael's in Belfield that that next day and they had the relics of St. Thera Lu.
And her parents.
And her parents and we were all praying for this tragedy that had happened and links back to Veronic named after Veronica um linked to St. Theres St. Theres is her middle name and we posted about if you remember I don't know if you know who is when I.
I knew the relics but I did not know.
Happened the next day.
They they were delayed.
They were delayed two weeks and they arrived the same day and then they came to St. Michael's the next day.
So it's like and you were writing this book in America, correct? So this is all happening at the same time like that's just unbelievable.
Add to that. It's in that same year 2020. I launched my book just before the lockdown.
Wow.
The week of the lockdown and uh it was in that church I saw the shoutin faith and that's on the front cover of my book which launched and that's the first public evening talk is at that church.
Wow. Yeah.
That's how I met Buj.
Yeah. So, so the Holy Spirit is just.
Theres of the child Jesus and of the Holy Face. So, no, no one refers to her as and of the Holy Face. It's been sort of cut off over time, but she is and of the holy face.
It's amazing because Mother Agnes told her, TZ, you have it within you to focus on the passion of Jesus. And that's when she took giant steps in the interior light. But the secret is that she read Sister Marie St. Pierre's biography. Now in logic, the cause is always greater than effect. If St. TZ read the autobiography of Sister Marita St. Pierre and was affected to become a giant saint, doesn't that say that Sister Mary St. Pierre should be holy or holier than her? And why is she not a saint? Because when the cause started for her, one of the the devil's advocates said, "What is a nun doing talking about communism?" In the 18 this was in the 1840s. So the devil's advocate said, "What is a nun doing talking about communism?" And this was right before the communist manifesto came out in 1848. So this was all just a thought.
Wow.
And then it was vomited out.
Into the world in 1917.
19. So.
Yeah, the Bolvik Revolution. the revolution of Fatima Fatima.
And that's when our lady was saying we need to make reparation and she I mean she was getting this our lady Fatima was getting reparation out before the bullshik revolution happened so our lord and our lady are saying reparation if you want to take my father's scourge of revolutionary men away from you reparation is de reparation is destined to save study and that's what blessed pas blessed pope pas I 9th had is reparation is destined to save society society and that's why I wrote the book is called the holy the secret of the holy faith but the subtitle is the devotion destined to save society you see that and so we have the tools we have the weapons to fight we don't have to be political masterminds we just need to be better Catholics.
Yeah, 100%. The dates have blown my mind 1843 to 1848.
The revelations are done and then 1849 the miracle happens.
Like there's no coincidence with these days.
And then Pope Leo the 13th.
And here we are with Pope Leo the 14th.
You so so.
And.
It's this is all.
So when was the miracle approved that that that in 1849 the miracle happened when was it approved by the church?
That same year because it notorized it was just an instant approval.
And Look, I wrote the dedication to Pope Leo I 13th who raised the confraternity of the holy face to the rank of an arch confraternity to exist in perpetuity and for all countries of the world wherever they may be ubiquarium by a brief of his holiness Pope Leo I 13th establishing the arch comfortering of the holy face given at Rome near St. Peter under the ring of the fisherman the eth year of his pontificate the 1st of October 1885. And so I hope that Pope Leo the 14th gets to see this book someday.
Yes.
Because I wrote that before I knew he was going to be.
Pope Leo the 14th if you're watching. Yes. October one.
Father, do you want to explain what an arch confraternity is? Because you know we get a lot of people to enroll for that. So maybe just explain and and when you enroll, what does that mean? Is this similar to the the brown scapula or is something different?
Yeah, there's some similarities. So, can law has changed over time? Like there's the confraternity of the holy rosary, but there's no arch confer as far as I know, unless the Dominicans can correct me on that. And so, in the 1800s, they were starting to make arch conferies. They would become like the flagship of a fleet of naval ships. And so that's an analogy for uh spiritual um armies that God is setting up. And so an arch confaternity is the leader of all the confraternities of the holy face around the world. And so any bishop can start a confraternity of the holy faith with statutes that he wants and usually it's done by either a priest or lay people and then the bishop just signs off. But these confraternities can be aggregated to the arch confraternity and then the indulgences in the arch confraternity can be passed on to that confraternity. So that's sort of a little bit about it. But the key is that it's canonical. That means the triple moonra to teach to govern and to sanctify are required for any bishops, priests or deacons to have any authority to teach and to sanctify. They have to also have the grace of ordination. But they they can't just come out of nowhere and say I'm gonna be coming to Sydney and doing my thing because no, they have to have the archbishop's permission to do something. So this arch confraternity is like one of those triple moonra. This is canon law. This you you can't get around it. So it's I saw that and I saw wow this has so much potential because it's solid. And when Jesus was talking to sister Mary St. Pierre, he kept telling her go talk to your superior. go talk have talk the archbishop tell him about this so it's always about getting that obedience.
Jesus knows.
Amen. And and and St. is having this devotion to to the holy face. What does like when you say devotion like the rosary what what does somebody do.
For this devotion? What's the procedure?
Devotion makes someone more tender towards certain aspects of God or his church. And so how to practice devotion to the holy face is very unique because it doesn't add a lot of time to people's daily prayer lives. It just enhances all their other devotions and their sacramental life. And so in order to practice this devotion, someone needs to simply enroll, receive the enrollment papers every day, say, 'Oh Lord, show us thy face and we shall be saved. Our father, Hail Mary, glory be wear an effigy of the holy face. So it can be a medal of the face of Jesus or a Lraine cross, which is a double barred cross because it came from an arch dascese of tours with a velvronic on it, or a scapular of the holy face. And then they can practice this devotion by praying it. They can read the manual. I read two pages a night, but it's not required. They can pray the chaplet of the holy face. So the manual.
Chaplet for her as well.
Yeah.
I think my wife was telling me she did it with you, Bridget St. Michael. She loved it last week.
Yeah. I mean, when when you contemplate on those, you know, on the suffering of of Christ, you know, and the five senses. I mean, you know, when you're you know, when you're in pain or you're anxious, your five senses are heightened, aren't they? Just to just to really venerate on those five senses and it's so powerful. It's such a powerful devotion. It.

Is that what Shabel as well what Father John was talking about at that event that he did?
Yeah.
Yeah. About uh suffering and how the fa how we are wounding Christ every time we sin, every time we.
Um, back to him. There's a absolutely linked to because it is the three it's also making reparation to the sins against the first three commandments which are all against God you know so have no other gods before the one true god don't take the laws down in vain and keep holy the Sabbath okay think about that we are basically breaking those three on a daily basis in our culture today.
And and as I said before, you've got the holy face, you've got the shroud of tin. There's another one in.
Manipello.
Manipello, Italy.
Is there four or three all together?
Those are just the three big ones that I like to talk about. There's more of them that I don't get into.
What's the Manipello one? What's What's the difference?
Yeah. So, Dominico was a Franciscan who found it and he put it into this church in Monopelloo and apparently he was very close to St. Padre Peio. And when people would visit St. Padre Peio, they would say, "Don't visit me, go visit Dominico." And so I guess at the funeral one of them was billocating. I can't remember the situation but Dominica would talk about the holy face of Montipello and it became a popular devotion and then people started going there and then Pope Benedict the 16th went there and elevated the church where this relic was into a minor basilica. So I'll probably be going there soon. I haven't been there yet.
And what's that made out of? That that that one in Manipello? What's the material? Is it where's it from?
It comes from animals in the Mediterranean Sea. I think it's called muscles. And there's a technique that no one knows how to do anymore that where they would take these muscles and make fabric out of it. Okay.
It was a very expensive.
Napkin they would put on the face of priests. And Jesus was a priest, too. And so that's what they think was placed on his face. And so they think that when he rose from the dead that his his face was burned on there. That's why the object of the velmanipello I say is the resurrection and the other one's death and the other one's the passion.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's amazing. And and the holy face when you look at it, it looks like Jesus is bold. What's the reason behind that?
Is bold.
It looks like he hasn't got any hair.
Oh, sure.
There's no thorns.
Somebody might look at it and say.
"Yeah, there's no thorns. It's like he's it doesn't it doesn't like most people will look at and say that that's not Jesus because there's no thorns and there's no hair." What what's the reason behind that? I read a footnote and the footnote said that that's where the crown of thorns was. So if you were to take a towel and wipe your face, would you also put pressure and and also some have said that it wasn't just a crown of thorns, it was a helmet. So the whole.
So you're not going to get the vial and and and just push it in. And and so my my take, don't you know, don't quote me on this, is that Jesus just made that part that was blank and he rounded it off cuz he could make miracles. He's God.
Wow. The power of these relics like it's uh these are true relics of of like they've touched Jesus Christ. It's just I I mean us Marinites have these um, you know, St. Shel's hair and oil that touched his body and a cloth that touched the cloth of the body and we, you know, we've got these relics and we're really like, wow, powerful. And we've seen people, I could say I've seen a couple hundred people come out of cancer and comas and and come back to life obviously through prayer and devotion and, you know, the power of the Holy Spirit working through these saints and their relics. But when you think about the holy face being a veil that actually we all know Veronica wiped the face of Jesus like you're not going to get closer than that.
Yeah.
Like that's powerful.
That's how we know what he looks like.
Yeah.
Without that we wouldn't know.
Cuz can cuz this is a painters this is an artist's drawing, isn't it? What we're seeing here.
Yeah. That's an artist drawing supposedly of what the miracle in AD49 in Rome looked like. Because.
I think there's about 40 different types of paintings. And my guess I'll have to look at it again is while the the the face of Jesus was like a movie for three hours, artists were rushing up there to draw what they saw and then they engraved that.
And those engravings were touched to the veil of Veronica, the spear of luus and a part of the cross. And so what I tell we had 200 of those printed on linens and we had the help of a cardinal get those touched to the veil in 2024 and so we give those out on a very strict basis. We're probably halfway through but the idea is venerable Leo Deont he had an oil lamp olive oil hanging burning day and night in front of his image because he got one too after the miracle. And he also had his Bible that he loved to read and he had a light burning day and night. So he wished that every home would have one of these. So the League of St. Martin, which is my little P association, we have someone in the States who makes a lamp and gets all the parts from Greece, you know, the floating wicks and the corks and you just pour olive oil in it and you burn it in front of an image. So it's very beautiful to have a red lamp burning at night. It's so warm and it it just draws the soul. Especially if they shut down the churches again.
This this would be a great thing to have to console the hearts of those that have lost their priests again.
Father, was that the work of revolutionary men for our churches to be closed?
Yes, it was. Yes. Because the revolution and the animosity between the seed of the demon and the seed of our lady is just going to get worse and worse over time. That's either in Genesis 3:15 or St. Lucford talks about that in his true devotion to Mary which is a book I totally recommend. True devotion to Mary changed my life when I consecrated myself to Mary. And then what I have found in this devotion is there's a consecration to the holy face of Jesus. And so if people get devoted to Mary and become her slave, then they'll be ready to take the next step to be devoted to the holy face of Jesus because Mary had 30 years of silence in a school of the face of Jesus. And so she can take us more humbly to the face of Jesus than any other way.
So you've got you've got like devotions like uh what's the our lady that appeared in Japan?
Akida Aikido which talks about this as well. Talks about, you know, what's going to happen with the church and, you know, not end of times, but yeah, potentially what's going to happen.
Um, but you've got like Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is an image imprinted on cactus leaves, fiber of a cloak, which is in Mexico. You've you've been there?
Yes.
Um, and they say like 30 million people visit Guadalupe every year. Like 30 million people. Like this is like when you think about it, that's Mary on a piece of clothing. This is the actual veil that touched Jesus. I'm I'm trying to comprehend this how powerful this is.
Yeah. Because St. Lucford said that when Jesus came the first time, it was through Mary and when Jesus will come to the second time, it will be through Mary. And blessed elect Archbishop Fulton Sheen used to say there's four ages in the church, 500 years for each age. And he named the ages. But the last age, the last 500 years.
Our Lady's been appearing all over the world. It's the age of Our Lady. So, she seems to be bringing Jesus to us for a second time. And and Bridget was saying before you came on that you've you've traveled the world, but this is the first English-speaking country outside America that you.
I didn't realize he'd gone to the UK, so I got a bit wrong, but yeah, I mean, I went to Sicily to preach the Holy Face in November. So, it was my first international and now Australia and then Great Britain. So, I mean, I I'm I haven't been to Asia yet and I can cross off Australia now.
So, would you? When the war ends in Lebanon, we'll take it to Lebanon.
God willing.
I was going to ask you something, but I forgot. Uh uh Venerable Le Deont, why hasn't he been canonized?
Because the devil's advocates said, "What is the man doing in the canonation process that had slaves, but he had French law and they were much more gentle to the slaves in French colonies than they were in the United States. We treated slaves cruy in the US. So more so than the French. But anyways, his slaves, they loved him. And when he moved to tourists, he only had one, but she wanted to go with him. So that it may have been part of the revolution within the infiltration of the church.
Two things before we we wrap up. Um, first thing, if I want to go and physically see this holy face veil, where is it right now?
It is in the Vatican at St. Peter's and it comes out on Passion Sunday.
Okay.
Year before Palm Sunday.
Week before. So, week before Palm Sunday, if anybody watching wants to go physically go and see it.
Can I pray for the possibility of coming on a pilgrimage if we can do this? But pray that uh we're working on potentially uh getting a group together to go with Father Connie, God willing, one day keep you posted on Stanford.
Pray for that please.
Okay. So that's physically how we can go and see this uh holy face. The next best thing is that you're here in Australia talk about it for the next two weeks.
Yes.

Gives you the overview of the holy face, the history, and then that's the consecration, 33-day consecration. Okay. Yeah. In preparation to the consecration to the Holy.
So if you're watching YouTube, the first two people to comment something positive.
One one each and father will sign. Will you we sign up for it?
Yeah.
Charlie, just also for the for the members of Heartfelt. Um I think also Our Lady being at the foot of the cross. I mean she would have also seen.
Yeah. Wow.
That the face that like should have like as a mother watching your son like watching his face in his last I just it it just pains me like just thinking about it even though I've lost my own daughter I can't even imagine just how she stood at that foot of the cross and how much consolation does it give me and I'm sure many people who are um suffering the loss of a loved one to know that you know that Jesus does understand he he suffered and it's we We think about emotional suffering when we we lost someone but the physical suffering that physical.
Like how much pain did he go through?
You know who was standing right in front of Mary? Dismas. And Dismas looked at the face of Mary and the face of Jesus and he converted.
Dismas is the soldier. Is that.
No, he's the thief.
The thief. Okay. Okay. And he was the first one to go to be saved because he was he won paradise that day because he was looking at the mother of Jesus' face as Mary was going through the greatest triumph of his ver of her virtue staying with Jesus during that time.
I just I can't just just I it just chokes me to think that she looked at his face the whole time.
The sorrow of a mother sorrow is just so powerful like it's is you know yeah but yeah St. Dismas and can just.
It's amazing.
Any questions Shabelle before we go?
I just uh love to see people come out and take advantage.
Please everybody take advantage of it.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have father. It is a blessing.

Yeah, we should actually good idea.
And Martin, the last comment was the monthly meetings. And that's what the league of St. Martin does. We coach people how to go to those monthly meetings. some priest ah I don't want to do another meeting but they started going to these meetings amazing things happen because when people come together to pray God starts to connect people into this devotion so the league of St. Martin is is our little coaching team to get people to come together not to be isolated in the revolution.
