The dangerous emotion that is destroying your life #gratitude #creativecommunication

The dangerous emotion that is probably destroying your life. There's one emotion we all feel, but almost no one will admit it. And it's pretty much the driver of all social media, all retail commerce, from clothes to shoes to influencer culture. And it's probably killing your personal happiness. It's envy.

And envy makes you compare. It makes you bitter. And worst of all, it often hides behind sarcasm, backhanded compliments, and passive aggressive behavior. And ultimately, envy isn't about others, it's about you. And it's a sign that you've forgotten what you already have.

Here are three ways you can flip it. Number one, flip the comparison. Instead of looking up in jealousy, how about looking down in gratitude? Isn't it funny that we always compare ourselves with people who have something that we don't? Instead of comparing ourselves with people who don't have what we have. You know, there are people who would actually love to have your life.

Number two, zoom out. What you see on social media about someone else's lifestyle is most likely a lie. It's a fabrication. It only shows the good things and it doesn't show the struggles, the challenges, the obstacles that every single person has to deal with. No matter how much you have or who you are, don't miss the beauty of your own journey by continually wishing you were on someone else's.

Three, focus on becoming instead of acquiring. Shift your priorities to becoming a better version of yourself instead of constantly trying to acquire things that you think will make you happy. That's really a change in what's actually meaningful in life.

If envy's been eating away at you, take your power back. Turn the comparison into gratitude and do this today. Drop in the comments something that you are grateful for. I hope this helps. Share it with a friend. Save it for when you most need it.
