Siri, can you fetch my government ID?

This is the all-new Siri, guys, and it [music] fundamentally changes Apple intelligence. So, I've been running iOS 27 beta for the past several days now, and this is one of the most stable pieces of beta software that I've ever tried. Out of all the features in this new update, I think Siri has been the most standout and surprising one. Obviously, this is all just Gemini underneath, but let me show you.
Do you remember where I visited in April 2025?
>> That is correct.
And I can also ask very specific questions. For example, can you show me the picture of the black puppy that I took during my visit to Kalimpong? So, it goes through the photos app, understands which picture I'm talking about, and returns with a reply. And it not only shows pictures, it also managed to fetch a video.
Siri is more personalized than ever. It's connected across almost all Apple apps. So, for example, maybe I want to search an email. Siri, what was my last email from Xiaomi?
>> And there we have it.
Now, the thing is, it is still not supported over third-party apps. So, Gmail is not supported. You don't get support for WhatsApp. But I think they will be added very soon because I'm pretty sure there will be some ways Apple will be enabling developers to expose certain parts of the app to Siri.
Another feature is Siri now can see what is going on the screen. So, for example, I have this smartwatch over here. Obviously, it's the Apple Watch, but just an example. I can just ask, "So, can you help me get uh this watch?"
>> Oh, something's wrong. Please try again.
>> Can you help me get the watch on my screen?
>> Is that a problem?
>> Where can I get the watch on my screen?
>> Sorry, there's something wrong. Sorry, something's gone wrong. Please try again. I'm having a bit of trouble here. Oh, something's wrong.
>> Okay, it's it's not working.
But anyway, you get the drill. Now, the next obvious thing was to add Siri to camera. Now, if you remember in iOS 26, they actually had something similar that is visual intelligence, and this is basically an upgraded version of that because if you compare side-by-side with the iOS 26 visual intelligence, you'll see that how barebone and basic it was. Now, it is way more informative, and you get direct access to it inside the camera app. So, it gets a separate dedicated Siri button, very similar to what you get on Android phones.
Okay, remember when I said that this AI update is something very fundamental? Let's talk about the keyboard because obviously you get the Siri logo, and we're going to talk about that later. But there's also grammar correction, and it's very handy.
Next, we have got some major updates like really big updates in the photos app. We finally have got a good cleaner feature from Apple because previously Apple received a lot of backlash regarding this feature. Almost all budget Samsung phones did it better than the iPhone. So, it was pretty much the floor that Apple had set in the market. And I don't mean it as a compliment. But finally, it's fixed. So, I'll just do a side-by-side comparison with the iOS 26 and 27. So, we have got the iPhone 16 on the left, which is running iOS 27, and iPhone 17 on the right, which is running iOS 26. And you can see that the change is substantial. It just looks so much better, so much more natural on the new update.
Other than the cleanup feature, we're also getting extend, which just like it says, lets you literally extend an image. Again, another feature which the Android folks have been enjoying for a long time. Well, not everyone, not Color OS or Oxygen OS users, but more or less it has been there in the market. And next, we've got the reframe feature, which is pretty interesting. Now, Apple doesn't allow you to do something crazy. You can't change the perspective too much. It's very subtle. Now, the thing is, you're allowed to do it once, but if you try to do it again, Apple won't allow it. You can still bypass it by taking a screenshot. And it revealed something which I honestly did not expect. It works on any image, even if you just download something random from the internet. So, I expected Apple to block it there too, but that is not the case. Now, the fill quality is definitely a little bit lower than the image, but it's very hard to notice. Apple applies some sort of processing. Even if you zoom in and try to find out the stitching area, it's just not visible. It's very well done, and in all the cases, it takes a substantial amount of time. So, yeah, that is there.
Next, I want to talk about the notes app. And there is a little bit of misunderstanding over here. So, if you look at the iOS 26 version of the notes app, there are just so many writing tools, right? But in iOS 27, they are all removed. You only get two options that is proofread and rewrite. But that is actually not the case. So, now it brings us to the Siri logo, which allows you to do anything you feel like with a prompt. I have written this email and I want to make it sound a little bit different. I can just put a prompt for Siri to do it, and it does it for me.
Or my favorite feature, the tables. Like I always have mentioned in iOS 26, I can also get the same thing over here. So, for example, maybe just add a few events chronologically to make it more believable what happened with the homework. And look at that.
Now, there are some other boring features like you would expect. So, we have got live web info. Then there's the standalone Siri app, which is now more like an AI chat app like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. You also get reply suggestions in messages and emails.
Oh, and there's a very interesting feature. It can now update passwords on your behalf. So, for example, if I open the passwords app, there we have it. Unlock. And I already have some issue in security. I can click over there. And there we get an option, automatically fix seven passwords to replace them with strong passwords. I can just click get started. And here we have got seven automatic fixes. I can just click fix. Done.
Finally, the image playground got a quality update. Now, previously in iOS 26, the results were not really much usable except for maybe Genmoji, but now it looks way more realistic. It's significantly better.
The major caveat across all of these updates is that almost nothing is on-device anymore. So, you need to have the internet connection on in order to get these features, else it will just show some error. That was not the case on iOS 26, which also raises a big question.
