Welcome! I'll review an SEO strategy for a real estate client that increased their monthly visitors from 3,000 to approximately 14,000. I'll cover graphs showing results, SEO work (on-page, off-page, and technical), backlinks, competition, and more. I'll be brief and aim for a valuable video.
This real estate client, selling houses, saw results increasing their monthly visitors from 3,000 to 14,000, as shown in this screenshot. The comprehensive SEO work—on-page, off-page, and technical—began in September 2021. The organic search traffic graph shows a clear upward trend to approximately 14,000–15,000 monthly visitors. Most traffic is from the US; a secondary source is an Asian country (I can't disclose its name). This client was a real estate website in Asia.
Now, the results: In year one, total keywords increased from 3,254 to 5,332 (as of December 17th). Organic rankings also increased, a key metric. We added 2,000 new keywords to the SERPs. This graph shows keywords ranking in the top three, top ten, and pages two and below. As traffic increased, so did organic rankings. We ranked #1 for "real estate" in a location I can't reveal—a very powerful keyword. We'll look at other keywords later. This is a high buyer-intent keyword; people searching likely have buyer intent. We also worked on vendor finance keywords. Vendor finance is essentially using a lender to make a purchase. These are high buyer-intent keywords. For example, a business repairing iPhones wants to rank for keywords like "iPhone repair cost" or "where to fix iPhone," not just "how to fix iPhone." The average monthly traffic increased from 3,000 to 15,000, generating seven-figure monthly revenue. They sell houses, a very expensive asset, making even a few sales highly profitable.
The SEO work included: fixing numerous technical SEO issues weekly; focusing on indexing and redirects; on-page optimization (meta tags, meta descriptions, content strategy, thin page optimization); optimizing old content and publishing new articles using SurferSEO (a tool to optimize content for SEO). Creating new content and optimizing old content are both crucial. Internal linking is important for link juice flow and user experience. SEO isn't just about traffic; it's about conversions. The site migrated from an old Russian CMS to WordPress. It involved over 367,000 URLs.
This tool (link in description) shows top keywords. I'll discuss building the customer journey, not just focusing on purchasing keywords. For example, they rank #2 for "cost of living in [location]" (800 monthly searches, ~70 clicks). They're not only ranking for direct purchasing keywords but also keywords indirectly leading to purchases. If someone searches for "cost of living," they might eventually buy a house and remember this site, especially with retargeting. They target keywords like "living costs," "cost of living for expats," "how much does it cost to live in [location]", and "move to [country]". Keyword research is key for targeting indirect keywords that bring clients. They also rank well for "property for sale" and "rentals." It's important to consider the customer journey, not just purchasing keywords.
This tool (link and 50% off coupon in description) provides data on competitors. The entire industry saw a downturn in October/November 2022, but this client remained strong. They also have a powerful backlink from the New York Times. The tool is a more affordable alternative to Ahrefs or SEMrush.
Their technical SEO is well-optimized. The meta title and description clearly define their business: a real estate business selling and renting properties in X country. They only have one H1 (good practice; multiple H1s are a no-no). Keywords are naturally sprinkled throughout the H1s and H2s.
This shows SEO's impact. Their traffic was around 5,000 for years, then spiked dramatically after SEO implementation. This highlights SEO's power. The mastermind behind this is Bart (link to his profile and services in description). You can schedule a consultation call with him.
