Let's pray real quick. Thank you, Lord. Father God, we just invite you into this room, Father God. We invite you to to just be a part of of this teaching, Lord God, as we examine what this means, Father God, that you would open your word to us. That you would give us divine insight and revelation into your heart, into who you are, into who we are in you. Let the words of my mouth, meditation, my heart be acceptable and pleasing unto you, my rock and my redeemer, making all of us a pure heart and a right spirit. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Amen.
So today is uh for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. This will conclude the breakout of the Lord's prayer. It's like they call it the Lord's prayer, right? But it but it was actually should have been called like the disciples prayer or something different. And the whole part of it, the whole the whole uh Lord's prayer. Our father who art in heaven, holy is your name, right? Uh your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Uh uh forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, the glory forever and ever. Amen.
It's literally a transition uh and of of old life into new life. It's a message of a prayer of not only deliverance, but uh of instruction. Uh and when and if I'm being honest, when I first heard it, it just seemed really empty. It's like, okay, that's that's good. You hear it so many times, right? It's so watered down. So if it if it is a process, if it is if it is a message of deliverance, if it is this uh progression from the beginning of of where we need to start the our father all the way into okay for yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. It has to be that surrender back to lordship. It's super simple, right?
On on Sunday, there was a an offer for a salvation, right? If you've never taken the opportunity to declare uh your allegiance and receive this gift of salvation, right, come down to the front and pray. Does everybody remember that whenever the pastor made that offer, right? The the I think what we what we tend to set aside is the lordship part, the savior. He's absolutely our savior. Absolutely our savior. But can we choose to make him our lord? I believe that the the the this the summation of this prayer, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever, is that declaration that says, "And your Lord to be able to to come and I, you know, there's there's There's a lot there's a lot to disciplehip. There's a lot to learning how to live this thing out.
One of probably the most potent uh and powerful things you can ever learn how to do is not take anything personally. The only way you're ever going to be a light in a dark place is if you don't take things personally. There's going to be a spiritual attack. The scripture says we don't work against flesh and blood, but it's spirit against spirit. If we can stay in a place where we're unoffendable, to where we're not taking something personally, whenever even whenever somebody begins to persecute or attack or or say something negatively or or react in their flesh, if I don't take it personally, then then I have an opportunity to bring the kingdom. Then I have an opportunity to declare his goodness. It's Listen, whenever everybody's getting along and it feels real good, that's an amazing event, right? But that's not a real opportunity to declare his goodness. And the real opportunity to declare his goodness is whenever we get to identifying his sufferings in a moment of persecution or a moment of conflict and we don't take it personally. It's in those moments that we that we surrender to the lordship of Jesus. It's in the moments whenever we have opportunity to do something when nobody's looking. Ronnie, go ahead and stand up in the back for me. we have a chance to do the wrong thing and we choose the right thing. It's in those moments that that we I think declare the lordship of Jesus that that allows us to bring the kingdom into those moments.
The first scripture is this. It says Psalms 27 1 and then Psalms 13 uh 27:13 says, "The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Whom shall I be afraid?" 13 says, "I remain confident of this. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
You know, I don't know what it is to be like a street preacher or an evangelist. I'm not called to that. Uh but I am called to live in a way that would draw people to him. live in in small ways that most people may never see, but certain pe individuals may catch a glimpse of that would draw me or draw them to uh to living a life surrendered to him because they see a life surrendered to him. Right? One of the one of the ways that I've found that reveals Christ in my life the most is by making amends. You know what I mean? like whenever I mess mess up, lose my temper, uh something like that, yell at somebody or say something that I have a bad habit of thinking certain things are funny and then saying something and then having to go back and apologize later because it was actually sarcasm or or whatever. And I believe that Christ in those moments are are revealed in my life in a in a great great way. I have to set aside what what people may commonly think of as manhood so that I can walk in biblical manhood, biblical masculinity.
Whenever it says the the Lord is the light of my salvation, whom shall I fear? Like, who is it that I would walk into a conversation and shy away from declaring the goodness of God or building a relationship telling somebody I love them? And I say that because a lot of times we're thinking you got to go up and you're gonna have to smack somebody in the mouth with Jesus and it's or or instantly correct them. And I don't think it's that. I think I think sometimes you just ask the question if you walk into a conversation about the old days and you ask them what makes what makes you think that all those days were so good they're worth talking about and you just present a simple question. You know, whenever Matt said, you know, he felt let down and felt hurt by God because because God had let him down. Have you ever has anybody ever asked you what prayer? What prayer did he not answer? No. No. >> Yeah. Yeah. No. No. It was rhetorical to a degree because I kind of know the answer because I live the same life, right? I have prayers that I prayed and thank God now that he did not answer them. Thank God that he didn't answer them. But instead of instead of going because a lot of times my instant result is Matt, that's ridiculousness for you to blame God for your but but to examine those things together to be able to have the boldness to do that to say what were the prayers that he didn't answer? And and then we got to get honest with ourselves. Like if I'm going to say that he doesn't answer my prayers, I might want to know what prayers that I'm saying he didn't answer. And I and I and then and then in exposing what those prayers were, it'll probably give me a revelation of the sickness of my heart and the goodness of God because he didn't answer them.
You know, there's two days for some reason in the last three or four months that I struggle to teach and I I don't fully understand why it and I think what it is, I come in here and I try to go to an intellectual pattern of discovery for you guys. One would be uh the fear of the Lord day because I've taught I've taught these so many times that I'll I have a tendency instead of stepping into that place and teaching from that place of awe. I'll try to give you the intellectual points. You know what I mean? So that I can lay it out for you. You can follow that. Same thing with today. Uh so to kind of not necessarily set it completely aside, every trial and every circumstance, every unanswered prayer is is a pattern for God to eventually show you how good he is. Not because he answered him, but because he didn't. It listen whenever I can give you example after example in my life right now of times where I thought I was praying a righteous prayer. Scripture says the fervent right of the fervent prayer of a righteous man avaleth much. He says listen if you're good and you're righteous, what makes me righteous? The blood of Jesus. So the fervent prayer of a surrendered and saved believer will avail much. And in moments whenever my wife's health uh Craig Craig history, his wife has rheumatoid arthritis, man, I've seen her do so many things. She's such a sweet lady and then and not been healed yet. Literally one of the times when Dan Mohler came, he had us all stand up and pray over everybody. Craig has this like crick in his shoulder. She has rheumatoid arthritis, excruciating pain. God gets healed. She doesn't. And it just makes you ask the question, right? Where are you right now in this Lord? And this is what I say. He's waiting to unravel deeper revelation of how good he is.
This statement that says it's his kingdom, his power, and glory forever and ever. It has to begin with me understanding that everything from this point going forward, no matter what my human brain can contemplate will lead me to a greater le revelation of how truly good God is. My the miscarriage that Lupy and I suffer, we didn't want kids, man. We're we have a ton of kids and we weren't looking. We got clean. We weren't trying to get pregnant or nothing. We obviously weren't preventing it, but I mean we're mid-4s, man. We weren't thinking of that. she gets pregnant and that literally within the day or two that she begins to get excited about it, we miscarried. What I couldn't have told you in the midst of that is that we would understand how much God loved us when it was all said and done. We he he used that. I don't know that he did that, but he used that so that we could get to a level of intimacy that we never could have reached had it not happened. Whenever it first happened, I remember she came out of the bathroom and there was blood and I just grabbed her and we I I just started singing, "Thank you, Lord." That's all I need to do. And she starts freaking out a little bit. I just grabbed her a little bit tighter and I said, "You got to sing with me. We got to worship right now." And I y'all if anybody ever stand close to me, I don't worship well, but it was just thank you Lord. Just thank you Lord. Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord. And that whole process took us a few months. And whenever we got to the end of it, listen, whenever we got to the end of it, what I learned from my wife is that what hurt her the most is how excited she saw me get about it. And she felt like she had let me down. I was just excited about seeing her pregnant. Does that make sense? It had never gone further than that. I went never went to the idea of this kid graduating college. None of that. I was just because she's my friend and I love her and she's my wife. I was just super excited about the pregnant part. She thought she had let me down. And whenever we get to that, it took months to get to that route. And then I got to tell her, you never let me down. you never let me down. I just wanted to see you pregnant. You're my priority above all things. And it gave us a deeper level of intimacy. And she began to trust me more. That's what it is for the him to have the kingdom and the glory forever because I couldn't see in the midst of that how that was going to play out. And it looked all bad. And my prayer was like, "God, turn this back. don't make this. So, listen. And it drag out for a little bit. We would go to get to to the test to make, you know, we go to the doctor, they do, and they can't tell. And they can't tell. For three weeks, it drags out where they don't know fully if she's miscarried the kid or not because it's so early on in the pregnancy, you know, they're testing for this enzyme and doing these things. So, for three weeks, it's dragging out where it looks like there can be a miracle and it doesn't happen. And at the end of it, his goodness prevailed. And there's story after story, the headaches, the her being paralyzed, the just um so many my dad's death, so many different things financially. I can tell story after story after story and then and then realizing that he was pressing us into a place to steward better to to make better management decisions to to do to to to learn how to come up with strategies to provide for food and and different things cuz cuz we focus on the quality of things that we give you guys. Nobody gives us money for toilet paper. I mean we have a few a handful of donors. We're grateful for them. But for the most part, like anybody that would come in as a consultant would instantly trim down the quality of the things that we provide for you. That's what they would do. But we refuse to do that because your sons, the little bit of money that we spend on stuff like yesterday, right? We to go the extra mile. It's supposed to reveal to you the goodness of God. It's supposed to reveal to you his heart for you through us. So that as you're pressing through, as you're going through the crisis with your families, as you're getting letters or not getting letters in time and you're questioning where you should be and what you should do in those moments, you're able to look around. It says, confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of living that you're able to look around in the simplest of things and see how good God is for you.
1 Corinthians 4:1 says this. It says, "This then is how you ought to regard us as servants of Christ and those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed." You know, there's there's a couple folks that pick us apart online pretty good. And and one of one of the things that a lot of people say is, "Show me that in scripture where it says exactly that." And I'm like, I can show you where it says the gist of a lot of things over and over and over again, but does it say uh Sally sells seashells by the seashore? Exactly. No. I know that's I'm just making that up, right? But but it's uh like I had a guy one time said, "Show me where it says that it's about a relationship in scripture." I'm like, "Are you kidding? Romans 8 says now we're we're we're heirs and sons." If that doesn't depict relationship, what does it depict? One of the most closest and most intimate bond is the one between a father and a son. Wouldn't that mean relationship? But as we read and we mine and we dig in the word, God's going to give us a revelation of that word. I think I shared the one that Nick had the other day whenever he was talking about or I I share it with a few guys. He said that over and over and over sometimes as husbands we fall fall prey to eating the fruit again. I said, 'What do you mean?' He goes, "Well, you know how Eve had the fruit and she ate from the tree?" He said, "Someday times if my my my wife is upset or my wife is angry or my wife is uh uh you know, whatever, sometimes I can eat of that salmon or some, you know, somebody cuts her off and she tells me about it." Instead of being an encouragement and trying to speak life, I'm like, "Yeah, let's go burn their house down. you know, I'm taking a bite of that that poisonous fruit again. And it was just like a powerful revelation. But does it exactly say that in scripture? No, it doesn't. But is it a mystery that God has revealed? Right? Anybody have some of those? Any of you ever read a piece of scripture and get a real nugget out of it or you're like, "Whoa, this is what that meant." I believe that if that happens, you're supposed to share that with someone else. I believe that us sharing and sharpening and and handing out those mysteries that go this is what I'll tell anybody you I I believe absolutely that the word is the same yesterday today and forever right I believe that with everything that I am I also believe that we serve a God that speaks there's no way I could have stayed in this this long if we didn't serve a God that speaks with that being said if you begin to share revelation and it doesn't point to either Christ the crucified Christ or who Christ says that I am, then I would probably disagree with that mystery because everything should point to one of those three things. Any revelation you get should point back to him, back to him crucified, or back to who he now says you are. Does that make sense? And I'm not saying absolutely disregard it. I'm just saying I would probably question it because if it's about those three things, you'll find it in the word. You'll find that revelation, that mystery in the word of God.
Who's us? Says this then is how you ought to regard us. Who's us? Us. It's us. Everything here was written for them and for us. If he says that now we have this ministry, the ministry of reconciliation, then this us is us. 1 John 3 1-3. This is goes that is that uh relationship part, right? See what great love the father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But what but we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him. For if we shall see him as he is, all for we shall see him as he is, all who have this hope in him purify themselves just as he is pure.
It's his kingdom. Listen, it's his kingdom that he has made us heirs of. I thank you Lord. I thank you Lord. I thank you Lord. Who who wants to walk this out? Who wants to walk it out? You know what I mean? Like who really wants to walk it out? walk out this life like walk this out. There's Listen, there's something I told you guys when I first started teaching it. I said, "If you can pick up the very first two statements in the Lord's Prayer, then you'll have every bit of it figured out. If you can truly grasp and grab on to what it means to call him our father, then you would have a depth of understanding. You would understand that you are the disciple that Jesus loves. You will understand that you are his favorite. You will understand what grace is and how grace abounds in your life. You'll be able to receive the correction that's going to come without opinion. You're going to be able to understand that he's going to try to guide you closer that you don't know. Antoine put it so good last night. Just that thing that says, "I don't know. I don't know." Man, that's a whole argument with a teenager, isn't it? >> That's a whole argument, man. I want to mature past that place. I want to mature past the place of adolescence and then walk as a son and friend because you who has kids that are old enough to be your son, your children and your friends. So I I don't think they hit that until their 20s, right? They they they can't hit that until they're in their 20s. But at one point they realize I'm not trying to control them. At one point they realize I'm not trying to do I'm not trying to tell them how to live their life. I'm literally just trying to share my scars with them so that the hopes is they don't get their own. And once they accept that, the conversation gets different. It's the same way with him.
I learned that whenever I quit smoking uh to to be an immity with him, right? It's it it wasn't about being good. It wasn't about the sin of smoking. I'm just being honest with you. None of those things are what did it. It came in a basic conversation where he showed me how many times he had graciously and lovingly prompted me to quit smoking. And then finally he said whenever I'm telling you to do something and you don't. We're at immnity. He said but the blood is enough. My son paid the price so that really it's okay. But I just wanted you to know that because I was teaching on the fear of the Lord. I taught the fear of the Lord that and then that that next morning is when I had that revelation. He said, "I just want you to understand that." And then this is what happened. I I quit smoking and I realized that it was only because he's good. He only wants what best for me. Whenever he gives me instruction, it has nothing to do. It doesn't mean there's not going to be some pain associated with it. Listen, he's given me great vision for the things that we're supposed to do and change. And in that there has been great pain and there has been suffering and there has been blessing and growth and explosion. And this is the truth. Whenever I saw the three men walk down Sunday morning, it made it worth it. When I saw the three men go down there to get prayer, whether it was a first time confession or a rededication, it made every bit of what we've sacrificed to get to where we're at worth it.
Jansen shared this morning. He said uh which was super long. Love Jansen. But in the beginning of it, it was super good. And he said uh uh it was super easy to seek the Lord whenever my pain was high, my desperation was high. He said, "But as life continues and goes and grows." Will you grab that? Uh uh it gets harder to to seek him out. It gets harder because I'm not in crisis. It gets harder to make him the priority. And all I can think about is is I think what God what what gets more complicated is understanding how to seek him out. I think we still have this we look back and there's this morning time dedication that is just sold out and I'm in such crisis that I'm getting breakthrough. And he's wanting to mature us where we're walking hand in hand where he knows he's assigned us to tin the garden. He's assigned us to work the kingdom. And so throughout our day, he comes and has conversation with us. That whole thing about the the prayer this morning where it's prayer without ceasing is just being prepared at any moment for him to join me as I work the work for him to build the kingdom and making myself available. And so, but I'm also I I'm I'm not looking for him to be the how do you say it? When I'm in crisis, I need the like the overwhelming joy miracle. When I'm not in crisis, I have to learn how to receive his presence. Whenever it's a restful, peaceful presence, not an overwhelming emotion. The overwhelming emotion, I think, leads me into a place of maturity.
So weird. I was watching one of my videos the other day and whenever I drink coffee, you can hear it go. I was like, maybe I shouldn't be doing that anymore. What if you give me 25 push-ups? You don't have to give me 25 push-ups, Ronnie. Go to the bathroom. But you got to give me five. >> Five. >> You got to knock out five. Go for it. Y'all talk to me a little bit. It just seems uh I feel the pe overwhelming peace of God, but but it also seems like uh just, you know, what do you got? >> Hold on. He's going to bring the microphone over here so we can share online. >> Uh I remember you were talking about how um if you don't have a place of authority in your life that you don't have no right to call him um above. I believe like being obedient. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What I I think what I said was if if you're not being obedient, how are you going to call him father? So my I would say definitely my weakness uh personally with myself is that I've always been um talking over and noticing about that by myself is that I don't allow other people to speak and everything. I've had times in my past that I feel like I haven't honored my mother or I haven't honored my father. And I really want to like going forward like I'm praying God just to please like have that out of me, you know, going forward um knowing that I feel like this recon I feel like I'm going through like I don't want to go through the motions anymore. I don't want to go through life. I want to go through life with a purpose knowing that God please forgive me and please let me help me going forward be stronger than ever.
>> So let me say this. You're forgiven. I not because I have authority to forgive. Although I think the scripture says that we do. He says if you say your sins your sins forgiven they're forgiven. But but what I would say more importantly is this is if you've believed and confessed. If you've believed with your heart, confess with your mouth, then then then you're forgiven. You don't got to keep pleading for forgiveness over the same thing. That's something the enemy will very much do is he'll try to drag it back up and instead of agreeing and saying, "Yeah, that's who I was. Thank you, Jesus, for transforming me. Thank you, Jesus, for making me new. Thank you, Jesus, for changing my mindsets instead of saying, "God, just forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me." Because he if he's if you've believed and you know that he has the ability to and you know that that's what he was on the cross for that, if you know that and you believe that in your heart, you're it's done. It's finished. You just have to make that confession. And then there's maybe some details of working out to to be discipled and be uh sanctified. There's going to be maybe some issues to work out, but never again do those issues allow us to sit in a funk, anger, resentment. Do you see what I'm saying? Because we've not only we've surrendered and we've forgiven them. That's why remember our list. So we've chose to forgive those people and then step fully into the juice, right? Into the forgiveness and goodness and peace and joy of God. That's you got one more behind you.
>> Uh so on the topic of for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Uh I I get I can get behind all that. I love it. Um but the the problem with me is that uh and I'm able to do it sometimes better than others is that like when when I do get that praise or that appreciation or somebody's like, you know, they see me where I'm at. Um, h how do you walk in humility in that uh through your walk? Like h how do I how do I always give that to God? Is that kind of a process?
>> So, so, so I so there's uh so let me teach you about maturity real quick. And this is going to create some conflict online just so you know. >> So that whole thing, look, it's always sweet when you say uh to God be the glory, right? Uh whenever they're like, "Hey, hey, thank you man of God for doing oh no, don't thank me. Thank Jesus." Is that a factual truth? Yes. Does it make people feel uncomfortable and weird? Absolutely. And so this is what somebody taught me. Maturity is realizing that the design on your life that God picked you and appointed you and set you right here. Now you have to know without him you can't accomplish these things. But it's okay for somebody say, "Man of God, thank you for helping change my tire." Like you didn't have to stop and then you prayed for me and you just saying, "You're welcome." and then, you know, throw in the to be the glory. I'm okay with that. But there's something about saying you're welcome allows me to then get alone with him. And when I get alone with him where nobody else sees and I say, God, that you would choose me to do something so simple to impact. I think that whole I think we disqualify the smallest things we do because we think we have to have this big thing where we can make it super awkward and be like, "Oh, no, no, thank the Lord, not me." whenever in the very small kindnesses and gentleness and and I was trying to bring peace and joy and offering prayer for people and those small things, God picked you, designed you, knitted you in your mother's womb and appointed you. And so at some point you have to get alone with him and say, "God, that you would pick someone like me. Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to work the kingdom to build it for your king, for your glory." Right? So I don't think I mean if let me see the only way to combat pride in my opinion is prayer. So it ain't going to be whether somebody thanks me and cuz how are you going to take it's so literally the most arrogant statement you could ever have to say I don't want to take God's glory. You can't. >> How are you going to take God's glory? >> Do you understand what I'm saying? So I'm not saying don't give him honor. That's not what I'm saying. And I'm not saying be prideful and be like, "Yeah, I did that one." >> But I'm saying sometimes it's okay to say you're welcome and then get alone with God and acknowledge acknowledge that he designed you, that he all of your story was meant for this moment, that he would appoint you to do some small detail of life that would impact someone else. And so although I look if you struggle, one other thing I'd say is if you struggle with pride, deep in your prayer life. Deep in your prayer life and uh start giving stuff away, your favorite stuff. Start giving it away. Uh and and fast. Uh and I think those are real ways to bite at those things. But you need to listen your identity in him as a son as a chosen some those he forneew he predestined to understand that he he picked you alone to just do a small act. I don't know if you'all ever heard me teach about tying up the donkey but like he if he if I can acknowledge God if not I'm going to get frustrated because I haven't done anything big by does that make sense? Uh, and so I think to understand the smallest detail, the smallest detail that he knitted you in your mother's womb for that action and say, "Thank you, God, for picking someone like me who definitely didn't deserve it." Listen, mercy would have been him killing me whenever I met Jesus. Him saying, "Okay, there you go. I'm going to go ahead and put you down." That would have been a merciful act, but he showed me grace and he brought me into this brand new life for what? for what? What if it was all? What if every bit of my entire life was just to encourage Matt Jones to surrender his hurt to the feet of Jesus? What if that's the fulfillment of my purpose? Because then Matt's testimony goes on and affects millions. Can I be content with that? Can I say thank you God for choosing me to be available to hear the brokenness at the end of the statement that says I feel hurt. He is full of compassion and he wants to be compassionate towards you. But if you can't be honest at his feet, how can he? My honesty says, "Thank you, God, for picking me and allowing me, making me whole, giving me a sound mind so that I can come and share these things, that I could answer a question." I believe maturity says, "You're welcome." And then internally, I'm saying, "Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord." Because it always makes me feel weird when somebody thanks me. That I've had to fight this one out. That's how I got to this revelation. anytime somebody's like, "Man, thank you for this." I'm like, "This is so weird. God be the glory." And it's like an exit strategy for me because it's so uncomfortable. And then my mentor and he was like, "Why don't you just say you're welcome?" And then go to the feet of Jesus in a surrendered way. I'm like, "It makes me feel so awkward." He's he said, "That's such an immature response." I was like, "Whoa, never thought of it that way." He said, "In your heart of hearts, you know that he has that you know that God is the only way that this happens, right? Do those people know you well enough that to know that you're not taking credit for anything that God's used you for that absence that do you share your testimony everywhere you go about being unredeemable?" I'm like, "Yeah." And he goes, "Okay, so just thank God for using you and say you're welcome sometimes. Quit being weird." That's my opinion and best answer. I guarantee you there's some people that have a different opinion than me and we'll read about them online as they come in and make clips and talk about my arrogance and my pride and all kinds of stuff. What else?
>> The one that makes me weird is like when someone complime compliments your physique, right? >> That would make me weird in a place full of men as well. >> Like uh Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. like uh man you built man you you scared you built you know you're like uh thank you but when I say I if I say thank you I feel like I'm being like I don't know I it just make me feel weird I don't know I don't want to be complimented >> yeah the whole this whole situation's weird as of right now >> uh so >> so I you know >> yeah I don't even know what to do with this one right now. I'm having I'm being honest. So, I would probably just say, "Hey, I appreciate it. I, you know, I eat right or I don't know, whatever it is." Uh, and then don't make eye contact and walk away. So, if we're talking about here, if it's in this, that's how Thanks. That's what you need to do. That's what you need. Where Yeah, Heisman. Well, give him the Heisman. Uh, listen, I would say this. There's some guys that have never worked out their whole life that come in here that So, so there's some guys that have never been physically in shape that are watching guys that know how to work out with weights, that know how to do the calisthenics that we do, and they're watching them not from anything that's wrong, but they're they're thinking, man, maybe I can maybe I can be in shape for the first time. Because there So, there's two p there's two sides of the pendulum, right? the lack of confidence, the unworthiness, and then the arrogance and pride. I'm on the arrogance and pride side, but there's some guys that are on the this other side, like they've never been good enough. And so, they may be saying that in the hopes that they're having trying to have a conversation about like, how do I do that? How do I get there? What what can I do to to get a little bit jacked, you know? And so, so I would just I would say meet everything with grace and mercy. I know I made a a joke and it was funny, but but uh but yeah, there's there everybody has different gifts and talents. This is the truth. One of the things that I do every day is I go to the gym. I'm there for a few hours and it's good for my mental health. I spend the Lord I stay here hear from the Lord a lot in the sauna and a lot on the treadmill and uh and I very much enjoy that time. I could have never before I was a believer have given up that much time of my day because I had to get I had to get so much done. And I learned that I really enjoyed that time of for myself. How but I do it for my wife, right? I have this whole thing, y'all heard me talk about it before, like I want I believe that we have to uh do the things that make us better husbands, which is take care of ourselves. I want to take care of myself. I want to live a long time. I want my physique to be right. I want her to look at me like my physique is right. You know what I'm saying? And I think that's real healthy. I don't want any other woman to, but I want my wife to look at me like a panther looks at a gazelle, bro. I want her to be hungry. Yeah. Look. And I think that's healthy for marriage for me to want to do that. Lit. My wife literally told me, she said, "I appreciate that you take care of yourself." You know what I mean? That's a good thing. And so, some of these guys need to learn that. And and and so if they're coming to you and saying that, maybe you just ask a few of those questions like, "Well, do you want to work out? Are you wanting to?" I think that's how you navigate it. What else? Anybody we got? We will sit here for seven minutes. We'll do push-ups for seven minutes. Somebody's got to have a question. What do you got?
>> Like when you say you went through the miscarriage, you were saying like, "Thank you, God. Thank you, God." So last year I went through something kind of not similar but in a sense of loss. Um one of my closest friends the day like I God spoke to me to go find him and I went looking for him. I went searching for him. I called him. He never answered that later that night. He committed suicide. How do you deal with like seeing where God was at or being see like the good you know what I mean? Like what I'm asking. So the only thing I knew in this new life to do in the midst of that was to worship was to praise. That's the only thing I've gone through that a lot since I've been here. I've had guys, especially in 2023, we buried a lot of guys. I had guys call me, we have a 30-day rule, and a guy called Kevin called me on day 28, said, "Can I come back in the morning?" He was standing at 180. I was like, "You got two more days." He hung up the phone, hung himself immediately. And so I've been through a lot of stuff. We had one kid. The whole reason Doug Star works here is cuz there was this kid that was the laziest human being I have ever met in my entire life. And he was like the sweetest kid, Dylan. He was like the sweetest kid. like he would try to tough guy, but he was like this pudgy little like 19-year-old that was on probation for like he had grabbed a a benad pack of benadryil or or something ridiculous that a kid would try to get loaded on out of 7-Eleven and took off running. The lady grabbed him and he pulled away from lady and ran on the street and they got him for robbery because there was physical contact. He comes through like two or three times, never graduates. He ends up getting put on a unit, man. He goes to the wall. He goals unit and he's fine on a Monday. By Wednesday morning there's something broken in him when he's talking to his mom. He kills himself that night. And so I know that Dylan received Christ while he was here. I know that Kevin had made peace while he was here. we had to kick him out, you know, cuz basically tried to pocket some weed when he used we used to do the police calls and uh and so I look for moments where I know that I knew who he knew. I can't find in scripture where it says anything can separate you from the love of God. So, so those are the things. The hardest part to examine now which motivates me are those that I knew that didn't believe that died that are going to spend eternity separated from God. That is a that is a motivator for me now to be the best I can. And I for me in my position, I believe I'm called to facilitate administratively guys like Antoine, guys like Mike Peters, guys like Brian to be in position where they can effectively share the gospel. So, I'm going to do the very best I can in my office upstairs to make sure that this platform exists for men to continually share the gospel so that those who don't know him will. So, where do I see the goodness of God in one of those two things? One, did that guy know the Lord? >> Yes. >> Then, where is he? >> That's he's with him. I don't I don't know where I It's like this. If a man's having an affair with his wife and he has a heart attack right in the middle of the action, does he go to heaven or hell? He knows and loves the Lord, but he stumbled into deception and in the midst of adultery, he has a heart attack and dies. Is he going to heaven or hell? Okay. So, what's the difference between that and suicide? I I just don't in scripture I can't find it. Now, I'm sure Whoa, that we've got so much ammo for the online, you know, f sleuths. Uh but that's So, there it is. that. So now you know, flash forward a year, you're sitting in this seat. Can you accept what the Lord is speaking to you about where he is? And there's where you find the light at the end of the tunnel. See, my heart always breaks whenever I I know somebody falls into such deep deception that the enemy deceives them so much that they would believe that there is nothing else that can come but they need to take their own life because it is a deep place of deception and I don't think that I just see a gracious loving God and uh and and his blood makes us righteous. And so I just would encourage you to dive into that part of it. Anybody else?
>> No news, nothing new. Everyone always knows I'm trying I want to get my family back and everything. So I always pray to God about that. He gives me visions here and there about it. and more he does. There's two scenarios that he says is going to happen between her and this guy she's been talking to. Either one, he's going to hurt her emotionally, or two, he's going to physically hurt her. And I see it slowly starting to play out with the way my kids are telling me things like my daughter told me now all the kids are fighting with her about what she's doing, you know, just staying at home doing nothing but being on the phone and playing the video game. And I'm taking it as God's trying to teach me to, you know, hold my position because I'm always the one to run up to help somebody if I know they're gonna get hurt. Like you can call me at 3:00 in the morning. I'm going to come help you. >> And it's hard because I see the outcome because I've also seen visions of me and her in church together, >> you know, afterwards. And it's hard because I'm accepting it could just be me and her as friends in church or as a family in church, but not being able to run out there and help her because I know she's for one, she's not going to believe me. >> But it's hard. But I appreciate what God's telling me. So I'm, you know, it's teaching me to stand strong, change who I was, and so I can follow his word and become that man he wants me to be.
>> Let me ask you a question. would you? So, two there's two two options, right? One, you get to go and meet her immediate emotional need where she doesn't get traumatized or damaged. Or B, Christ can invade her and heal every time she's ever been hurt physically or emotionally. Which one do you choose? >> God, the helper of himself and healing. >> Then if you run out there, you're going to postpone him doing that. >> So sometimes that's what you have to stand on. God, you know better. This is what a prayer that I had to pray for my kids. It took me till I was 38 to have a revelation one that God was real and two that Christ is Lord and Savior. Right? So whenever I come back into my kids' life, my boys were probably 15 and 16 at the time or 16 and 17. And uh and I'm like, Lord, I don't know what to do. Like I I laid down some law, right? You can't smoke weed at my house. You can't do this. You can't do this. But then I had to surrender them in a way that said, 'Lord, have your way. Please don't kill them. But if it takes everything that it took for me, and it takes until they're 38, have your way, Lord. Because even if they have to go through what I went through, which I hope and pray that they don't, I know what they find at the end is better than anything I can give them. And it's a real prayer of surrender. It's a real laying them on the altar. And so that's got to be the deal is if you've found him in a real way here in this place or even before this place, right? It doesn't have to be about this place. And you know without a doubt that he is the way, the truth and the life, then your desire for her has to be that she finds the same thing. And nothing will satisfy her, make her whole or fulfill her until she finds that truth.
Father God, thank you for these moon. Thank you for this class. Jesus name I pray. Amen.
