Well, what am I doing right now? Giving myself a little me time. While because my co-star is late. Typical. So, what he does. Thank God I'm at a sneaker store because this is a place where I can find something to do with my time until Mark gets here. Crazy thing is, we made these plans. Mark, we're going to meet. What are we going to do? We're going to go to Flight Club. Why? It'll be dope for us to go there, see some random customers come in, treat them some sneakers. Where's Mark? Not here. Where is he? Is he out here? If Mark come out there, tell him I'm in the box.

What's up, everybody? It's Joe from Complex. We're in New York City at Flight Club with actors, entrepreneurs, and Hollywood icons, Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg. Yes, going to do some sneaker shopping today. Going to see what they're feeling, what they're not, and then hopefully, they're going to buy some sneakers. Woo! Let's go. Okay, let's go with Joe. Hey, Ric Flair.

[Music]

But Mark's supposed to be a dual interview with your co-star, but I think he's somewhere in the store shopping. Yeah, I think he's by the front. He got distracted with all those little shoes in the front. He's going to buy himself a couple. Pray. Okay, yeah. But I want to get to some of your early history with sneakers. You've been involved with sneakers from the beginning of time. But I remember back in the day, you were big on classic Adidas, and I was wondering like, you were going through all like the forums and stuff like that, like Rock and Jock. And then I was like, it almost looked like you had an Adidas deal. And then I found a posting that Donnie was like, "I hooked him up with the Adidas deal." When the Wahlburgers dropped, he was like, "I need the fours because I hooked up the Adidas deal." Is that true?

You know what? Well, there was a friend of ours, John Conley, worked at Adidas. And I was a sample size. And so, yeah, I mean, we just had an onslaught. But it really started much earlier than that. Okay. Somebody I know was in a place that was not the most desirable place, but one of the good benefits of being where he was was that Nike and other shoe companies would send all their irregulars. Okay. So I would get different shoes. They'd be probably four sizes too big, have a rip in the side of them. But I'd stuff them with tissue and wear them in school and still thinking I was the man. So that was really when the whole shoe thing started. And now I'm just because I'm trying to drop my own shoe, I'm paying attention to what everybody's wearing.

And are you wear-testing a lot of shoes because you're trying to like apply that to P448 when that that brand? Yeah. Well, with Municipal too, you know, we bought it. Yeah, we bought it. To P448, and we want to manufacture shoes for Municipal. You know, I tried to do, I done the collab with Jordan, I talked to Puma, I talked to Under Armour, I talked to every company out there. And I just realized, you know what? The best way to do it is just do it on your own.

The Wahlburgers though, they're so rare. I think Fat Joe has, um, a few other of your friends. But 2019, PJ Tucker wears them in the game. I checked on StockX, there's two pairs. One is asking for $100,000. Did you ever expect it to be that crazy for those? No, not at all. Not at all. I just thought, you know, be a friends and family thing. You know, it was such a specific thing to our restaurant. No, people went crazy for me. And it's, it's hard because I have so many friends who I would want to give the shoes to, but we literally only got 23 pairs. You know, got 23 pairs. MJ got 23 pairs. That was it.

The other thing is, M&M did a M&M 6 in green, and he was like, "MJ doesn't even like green." Did he say anything to you about that? We had to, we had to make a call. Just so this is a thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. And especially with the four, that's it's not a shoe that they want to mess with at all, right? And your son, I saw Wahlberg fours. Did he keep them pristine? I have two boys. One of them did, and one of them, I caught this kid selling the shoe. What? Your own shoe? Yeah. He was like, "Dad, it doesn't fit anymore." I said, "I don't care. Keep it. Put it in your closet." Wow. You know, and it was, it was, he was giving it away for pretty cheap. Thank God I heard about it and I was able to stop it. Okay. But, uh, oh my God. Wow. Was mine, it would have been a, it would have been a good come up. But come on. Nah. No, no.

[Music]

No. You know, you're in the movie *Me Time*. I think your co-star has arrived. Started without me, man. I texted you. Yeah, I know. You always say you're late. Yeah. I said, "Wait for me." Oh, sorry. We're waiting. Yeah, we, we got it up. Good to see you, man. I remember we did this in 2016, me and you, and we talked about your shoe salesman prowess. Yes. Prowess. That's a great word. He was a shoe salesman as well. Did you know that? Yes. Really? Yeah. You never told me that. There's a lot of things I didn't tell you. Give me time, baby. We're just getting to know each other. What do you mean? What do you mean, give you time? We went together for quite some time. I didn't know that, Kevin.

What were some of the tactics that you like employed when you were selling sneakers? Selling shoes? I can already tell you, I was probably a lot better than Mark. Really? Uh, yeah. I'm more personable. Okay. You know, I'm more of a people person. Um, and I, I can already tell you that back then, I know that he wasn't. You know, he was probably the throw the, throw the sneaker box at you guy. Yeah. For sure. Here's your 8. Chuck it at you. I'm more of a guy with a, not knowledge about shoes. Um, I also understood what people wanted. And I was there. Awkwardly trying on a shoe. Now, next thing you know, you giving them foot massage. Well, no, no. I wasn't a freaky. Call that harass. I wasn't a freaky foot toucher. Call that inappropriate. You were hands-on. I was hands-on, but I was more about my customer. What do you need? What do you want? Let me make sure that I can provide you the best service possible and give you the best shoe that you need. That's what I was.

And in the last episode, you drew up a scenario. It was a Mark. It was like a snakeskin Jordan 4, and he sold the shoe like to the whole crew on the spot. It's only three of those snakes in the world. World. Guess where two of them are? On your right and your left foot. By that sneak. Boom. So were you very like off the top, on the spot selling? Well, yeah. I mean, look, you have to be able to improvise. Uh, especially in a space like this, you have to be able to work quick on your feet. This is why I know he wasn't good back then. As I know he's very frustrated. He would get, "How do he sell this shoe right here, right there?" Oh my God. By the way, you're talking about these shoes. You said a shoe. No. How do you sell the shoe? You're not just looking at a shoe. You're looking at a premium sneaker here. You're looking at a one of one. So when you want a one of one, well, find the one. In my opinion, this is it. You want a sneaker that's going to sound like you're selling your tequila. I'm not selling my tequila, but if I was. Gr Corino is available. You okay? But I'm not. I'm not. Both of you. Oh, so he's close with MJ. He plays golf with MJ. Did he tell you that? Did you pick that up? No. I saw. We saw it. He plays. You want me to pick it up? It's a name. Does anybody want me to grab that name?

But listen, Kevin, have you buried the hatchet since the Vegas charity event? Uh, I, I ain't talked to myself. What did you do? What did you do? Listen, you have an in now. You have an in with your co-star to fix this relationship. I never told you a story with with me and Mike. Uh, so we was at a, a charity event. It was Mike's Vegas charity event. You know, I was hitting him. I was on stage. So I, I gave him a couple. You know, I hit his pants. He had like his pants. I'm a comedian. What do you mean? He walked in. He came in late. I saw it. He had on a very high-waisted jean that was flared at the bottom. I couldn't, I couldn't help myself. Mike was a little mad at me, but Mike knows I love him. Uh, it's all of. I haven't seen him since though. Yeah. No, no, no. That's a lie. We have. He's not letting that. Well, he could. If anyone can fix a relationship, Mark, I wouldn't even try. Why bother? You guys, that's nothing but love day between me and MJ.

Kevin, I know that like you sourced. These are 1985, but you sourced these, I think, a year ago. Mhm. Those the 1985 Bred 1s and like two pair of 1990s. But isn't it crazy to see like, literally from 1985, how, and then there's so many different iterations now? This shoe right here, when you give it to me, and I'm looking at the creases, I'm looking at the wear and tear on it. You go back to '85, you're thinking about what Jordan did specifically. That's, that's attached to. If you think about it, I mean, you, if you would have come in here today and just look at, I mean, all that he's created, all that he inspired. You ain't done anything. Second, you got no random story. You can walk in and it's just all about you. You ain't done. You haven't done nothing yet. Hold on. Let's, I mean, come on. Seriously. I feel that way. Does anybody? I feel like I, does anybody else feel like this? Just I got 94 restaurants. I feel like I haven't done. Look at this. I know that. I'm just saying. We were get back to the drawing board. I know that. But I'm just saying, like, we were on a really good, on a really good path. And I about the creases and you just took the car and you just really went to the. I mean, really, you really attacked me. No, I, it, everybody. But then you make people feel bad. Anything that's, that's his thing. Oh my God. He was killing me all night last night at dinner. And then all of a sudden, I said one thing and he made me feel so bad about it.

Mark, you mentioned that your 16-year-old son is starting to take some of your shoes because you wear the same size. But he's only got a little window. I mean, he went from here to here. I think he's, you know, I'm a size 10. I think he's going to be 11 in in a couple months. There's going to be a span of him getting the heat going through him. Is that happening to you as well? Like it came and went? Yeah, it's over. Okay. My son was in my sneakers at the age of six. Uh, he's, see, now he's trying to get sympathy. What are you talking about? What? He's in there at the age of six. He was wearing a size eight. He now is in like an 11 and a half. So, you know, his win. Okay. But he had heat at six. Boy, if he understood what was on his feet back then. Uh, good thing. No Dior on for him. No Dior 1. No, no.

Both you guys got the chance to design your own Nikes and Jordans. What's it like going to Portland? Did you go? Actually, had an athletic shoe. What was they called it? Couldn't give it away. Had voice. The box. You have my. I do have it. He sent the whole, a bunch of the, the black and everybody gave him away. The people, they didn't like. Did Mark send? They gave him away. The people didn't. Did Mark send you guys any of the Wahlburgers? Did he send you guys any? Did he send you the Wahlberg? No. I just want to know if Mark did anything for anyone. Did he do anything for anyone? Because when I came, when that shoe got that kind of heat, they out chasing after you for the shoe. You couldn't give them away. Yeah. You see that? They keep saying you couldn't do. I called it. It was called a hustle. Hart was an athletic trainer based off of me and my world of athleticism because what do I do? I motivate people. Health and wellness is a thing. Mark, right? You just work out for yourself. I actually inspire and motivate other people to do the same. My shoe took my to be better. You took my. Well, that was on my shoe. It was actually a game because I had a bunch of them. And Mark, every time you open the box, you heard, you heard like motivation from him. Literally his voice. What did you hear when you open up the pair of Wahlburgers? Did they say anything? Just paper and cardboard. Did, did Mark have it? Did it say anything? Wow. Guess we're learning something today, aren't we? We spend a little me time, but we're learning a little bit about. You guys seem like. Listen, we got to get to me time. Like I saw like some matching fits. We'll see some sneakers. And like, I think I saw like almost Miami colorways of like tracksuits. Didn't you? Yeah. Oh, he got me ass naked in a pair of Travis Scott. What? Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What? Yeah, they set me up good. They got me in Daisy Dukes. The movie is funny. The movie is great. You went naked in Travis Scott Jordan character. It's not him. It's his character. Huck. Huck did not. Mark. Huck. Okay. I will say one nice thing about Kevin. Has many nice things to say, but you know what? He enjoys making people laugh. But he also, he also really tries to motivate people and, you know, encourage people to be the best versions of themselves, which is a good thing. You know what? I'm going to encourage you to do. To actually give them some sneakers. You're going to, you're going to, you're going to give these nice people some of those Wahlberg. I know that. What are they going for? 70 grand or something? 20 grand to. We, I checked on StockX. One was at $100,000. Really? Yeah. What a rap gift that would have been. What? Wow. They didn't make. They only nine and up. I mean, just a signed pair would have been a great rap gift. I get framed. I mean, you would think that you would think about this stuff. The fact that you don't bothers me. All right, listen. We talked about everything. Now's the easy part. But I think you guys may have some help shopping today. Uh, it's people here, right? We're going to buy some other people some shoes. Let's do it. Let's do it. You know what? As we're talking about doing stuff, you're going to. I don't have my. [Music] Car. Hi. Nice to see you. What's your name? Mangle. How you. Nice to meet you. How good to meet you. She's going to get some nice shoes. You're going to get some stuff. And you better not be cheap. You better not be. Because I bought the last one for the other person. What do, what do you want to get? The Jordans or what are you getting? Uh, some juices. Oh, really? Yeah. That's it. You just want the one pair? Oh, cuz said not to be cheap, right? Yeah. You got Mark Wahlberg buying sneakers. Mark Wahlberg. No, this isn't Kevin. Yeah. Not me. He's clearly stating it. He's not put his hand in his. Wahlberg is buying you a pair of sneakers. So let's figure it out. These are nice, right? Those? Yeah. I love them. Hold. I got those. Yeah. Hold that. Those are great. I got those right. But that's so you can't just have one color. Go to classic color too. Mark Wahlberg, come on. Stop it. Way. How they don't have it on my size? They will. A simple Asics. This is great. Mark. Let's go see your Yeezys. Yeah, let's get those too. But don't let those three go. Okay. Okay. Time. D's. I'm going to pay. Eas. Nice. Hey, all I got is 100. I got you. Just figure it out. Whatever she want. You can't get no shoelaces in here. I'll get it back. I'll get it. I'll figure out where to get you your money. I got you. What did she get? A couple of Dunks and a pair of Yeezys. That's what I'm talking about. Okay. So you don't need. Why you car? Well, I thought she said she don't need them. I mean, listen, at the end of the day, Mark Wahlberg is one, one of the million. It's one of the million chances, right? So, all right, let's get to those. Thank you. I really appreciate it. We got good hearts. We're spending me time. So did Mark? Did Mark settle? He bounced. He did. Son of a. Irish exit. He got me again. It's okay. It's, it's fine. We got a, got four shoes here. Four shoes. Of course, we do. Of course, we just go. That's great. Just go. Here. Here. What do I do? What do I do? You. Yeah, I bet I do. God damn it. He got me, didn't he? All right. All right. That's good. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, you're welcome. Can you say thank you to much? Yeah. Of course. I care. Of course, I can. Say good. That's good. There you go. Let me help you out. I guess. Appreciate it. Yeah. Mark can't help her out. He's not here.

[Music]
