Kanban boards let you visually organize your work in Craft. Whether you're tracking projects, content, or personal tasks, here's how to get started.
First, just tap the forward slash key shortcut and write Kanban. And select insert Kanban collection. Craft creates a board with status property and three columns. There's already one card ready for you to start.
You can also convert any existing collection to Kanban view. One option is to click on the plus icon and add a new view. You can select which property to group by. This way you can switch between different view types. The other option is to go to the collection settings and select the turn view into option.
Once you have the Kanban board set up, add a new card by clicking the plus button in any column header. Or on iOS, the plus at the bottom of the column. Each card is a full Craft document. Click to open it and add notes, checklists, images, or whatever you need.
Drag cards between columns to change their status. The property updates automatically. You can reorder cards within a column and drag columns to rearrange the columns themselves. Right click or use the three-dot menu on a column header for more options. You can hide columns you don't need right now. These still will be available in the group settings.
From the collection settings, open the Kanban options to customize your board. Choose between wide and narrow columns, toggle column colors on or off, and limit which fields show on each card to keep things clean.
You can create project tracking with simple columns like to do, in progress, and done. You can create a content pipeline with columns like idea, draft, review, or published. You can also create a weekly planning Kanban boards. Group status, priority, date, or any select property that fits your workflow.
