What's going on guys? This is Keaton with Hook Rolls, and today's video is going to be a long overdue video. I know you guys have, uh, shown a lot of interest, um, in how I do my rodents, um, you know, how I plan to evolve them, I guess you can say, into something more than just feeding my snakes and making a couple hundred extra bucks a month. Um, if you guys don't know, these are two of the three racks that I just had made from a good buddy here, local to me. And, um, as you see, they are very, very nice. Um, they're made with the Vision, I want to say they're called 35s, I want to say tubs. Um, they're, they're perfect, guys. I mean, I'm running the five to one, and, um, they were absolutely perfect. As you see, I just put some fresh sunflower seeds in for them. But I mean, for a five to one with ASF, they are absolutely perfect. And what I'm going to do, um, there's plenty of room in there, obviously, as you see. Um, you know, even for babies. But what I'm, what I plan to do is I'm going to go down to the hardware store here, probably, uh, before this weekend. And, um, I've actually got a piece of it. Well, I did actually put it inside anyway. It looks like it's just regular PVC. I'm going to buy a piece of PVC, but it's not going to be the big stuff because, as you see, this is not going to fit in that tub. Um, but they make a smaller PVC that's about that big around that would, that, um, my ASF love. I have it in one of these other racks over here anyway. They absolutely love it, and because it gives them a little bit tighter of a, of a hole to go through, uh, they don't feel so wide open as they would in something like this, cuz this is really, uh, made for like a big rat, guys, not really an ASF. I mean, they, they still love it. I'm wrong, cuz they have a place to hide, but, um, as far as sizewise, anything smaller that they can get into has worked way better for me. But as you see, um, these are two of them. So there's actually a third one in the other side of the barn that I have not filled up. So this is, uh, in total, when I get all three of these in here and get them filled up with ASF, that's going to be, um, 40, I think, 46 or 48 tubs of five to one colonies, guys. And that, when I say five to one, I mean five females to one male in each tub. And, and, uh, like I said, there's, there's going to be plenty of room in here. And, uh, I made these colonies about two weeks prior to these, um, just because I had some. I picked up some adult ASF from a buddy down at NARBC, um, in Arlington this year, and I ended up picking up, excuse me, he ended up picking up, U, I think a hundred females, adult females, and then, um, I want to say like 40 males. Fed a few of them off, and then obviously made 16 colonies, 16 to 18 colonies with them. So, uh, a lot of these have already nested, as well as these are, um, they, these are adults too. Got these from a good local buddy, um, and, uh, yeah. So the, these are literally all these colonies right here are nesting already. I haven't seen any babies yet, as I said, they've only been here for about two and a half weeks or so, three weeks max. So I haven't seen any babies, um, but they're doing well. No fighting, um, you know, I guess I'm pretty sure they're breeding, obviously no fighting, um, they, they're nesting, like I said, so they're getting ready for babies. So that's, that's a good sign. But I just, just wanted to show you guys kind of what I'm going to do. I'm going to give you an example of my plans, what I plan to do. Um, so as you guys know, if you watched previous videos, I'm in the old rat room. This is a little 8x8, not insulated, as you see, a little window unit, um, you know, bare metal, not insulated. The whole building on top is insulated, but it doesn't, it doesn't really help, guys. Um, you know, the only reason that this works is because it's a small room and I can put in, you know, a little space heater, a couple space heaters in the winter time, and it seems to work fine. But as you see, again, these new racks are in the old building. Only reason that is is cuz I need to go in there and I need to finish putting insulation up and I need to buy a few more things for the building. I need to set my, I'm pretty sure this, this is going to work fine. This window unit, this window unit is actually way bigger than what this room needs, but it just doesn't have any insulation. So I think I'm going to run this into one of the windows, and I think it'll, it'll do me good. I need to pick this up. I need to pick up a couple fans that are on a timer in there. And then, um, eventually I'm going to buy a few more things in the summertime because in the summertime in Texas, as you guys know, if you're from Texas or know of Texas, it gets hot as guys. I mean, it gets, you know, 110 plus degrees, and, um, you got to have a lot of ventilation in that. And that kind of months when you're talking about ASF for rats in general, cuz they put off a lot of bad pheromones, um, you know, a lot of, uh, what's the name of the, uh, when they pee, I'm going to mind blank tonight, guys. You know what I'm talking about. Anyway, they put off a lot of, a lot of bad. Okay, you don't want to walk in there and smell that consistently, um, because if you haven't noticed, guys, a lot of the big time old school breeders have cancer. And, you know, it's one of those things. It sucks. It sucks to see, but all those guys breed their own rodents, and I'm just going to put two and two together and say it's because they're breathing in all those harsh chemicals, um, and never wore masks or anything else. That's just what I'm going to say. I'm going to go with that. So that way I wear a mask every time. Um, but, you know, all these tubs are clean, but I'm talking some, some guys' rooms, you know, you go in there and you can't breathe. Um, you know, that's just due to poor ventilation. And, um, you know, that's fine and dandy if, you know, you have doors open and stuff when you clean, but I don't plan to do that. I want my, I want my to have fresh air all the time. And, U, you got to kind of go from there. So enough ranting, um, back to the topic. As you know, two racks, third one's in there, get them filled up, uh, put them in the new facility over there behind me, um, in the 12x2 building, get it insulated, get everything in. And, uh, I plan to do a huge expansion, guys. I mean, we're talking, as you see, there's already a ton of colonies made from what I usually have. I mean, there's a few tubs in here that need new colonies, but I just haven't got around to it because I've been putting all my, um, you know, new ASF in here and not feeding them off. Um, but, you know, for the most part, this is kind of what I've had, um, for the better part of over a year, and it's done me well. Like I said, in previous videos, uh, just this setup right here, um, full, besides these bottom three, cuz I was using these bottom three with the wrap mesh, as you see, a little thicker mesh, um, for grow outs, and this netted me, after I fed, uh, my collection every month, this netted me about anywhere between $400 to $600 a month, um, selling at $2 a piece, which, you know, here in Texas is pretty cheap. $2 a piece is, you know, a lot cheaper than what you usually get your ASF for. U, but that was just wholesaling to one guy, one or two guys. So that being said, you know, $4 to $600 bucks a month, um, on top of, uh, feeding my collection, and that was after the fact that I've already paid for all this food, like all the rat food, um, you know, all the rat bedding, even the snake bedding, the cocoa. I, I still made that $4 to $600 bucks a month, even after factoring in. Look at her, thinks she's going to get one of those rats. Cor, what are you doing? Really? You think you're going to get one of those? That's why I got them in there so nothing can get them, you little. But yeah, anyway, that was $4 to $600 bucks a month was after I bought everything, you know, I mean, there's a lot of stuff involved, and that's after I bought everything and paid everything off, and, uh, you know, so it was not bad at all. Um, as you see, look at her, she's bedding up right now. Look at this. Look at her. She's pushing off all, all that stuff. That means they're ready, guys. Look at her. I'm telling you, there'll be babies in there in probably less than a week. Um, but anyway, so $4 to $600 bucks is what I had before, um, and now with this new setup, so having three of these going, these are two, having three of these completely full, and then having these three racks completely full, um, we, we'll bring in about anywhere between 2500 to about 3500, um, ASF a month. And, uh, that's a lot of ASF, guys, compared to what I'm usually making, um, you know, producing. So we're going to have our hands full. Um, but I, I do have a wholesaler set up, which is the only reason I'm doing this, um, because I do, I wouldn't mind making some extra cash, you know, to be able to put towards the snakes or just put towards paying everything, you know, paying things off. It'd be nice to make my goal is to make about anywhere between $2 to $4,000 a month extra breeding ASF because in all reality, I've got it down to a science now. I know how to breed really well, and, um, I can come down here even with this, you know, expanded, um, production, I could probably come down here and have it cleaned in three, three and a half hours a week, which is not bad. I mean, if I came in and, you know, turn it into, uh, Cor, quit, really, you're not going to get them anyway. If I came in and turn it into an hour a day, you know, it only take me three days a week, which would not be bad at all. And it would be in the new facility. I'm going to have a desk. I'm getting, um, one of another local friend to build me some desks, and, um, you know, so that way I have a better place to clean my rodents, cuz right now I really don't. I'm going to have it all set up, so going to be super, super simple. Going to go to Tractor Supply and buy some of those big metal tubs. Those big stainless steel metal tubs, and they're going to turn those into whole backs. We're going to do one male, one female, and those are probably going to be able to hold over 500 at a time. Um, you know, like I said, I've got a wholesaler, he's going to come to me, um, you know, and buy everything I have for, you know, a discounted price, which is fine with me because I don't want to have to deal with anybody else. He's going to buy them for me at a discounted price, and then he's going to do what every other person does in any other market. He's going to, you know, upsell somebody else and sell them off, which I'm completely fine with, guys, because in my situation, I don't want to deal with people. You know, I want to deal with one guy, one guy max, two. One guy, I want him, or, or the other guy to show up, hand me cash, or write me a check. I give him the ASF, and boom, we're done. You know what I mean? I don't, I, I don't want to have to deal with, uh, a bunch of different guys coming to me, oh, can I buy 40? Or can I buy 50? You know, I want to sell 4,000 or 2,000 or 3,000 to one guy. You know, so that's, that's what my goal is. Um, you know, obviously it's a big goal, but with these, even with these colonies right now, I did the math, um, with a five to one. I already did this earlier, didn't write it down, should have. Um, I'm going to be producing, um, anywhere between right at 2,000 to 1,800 ASF a month with just these colonies and what I've have here. Um, and that's going to be before I feed my collection. I've kind of figured it out. I'm going to need about 800 a month to feed my collection between babies and adults. Um, so, you know, that's still going to be 1,500 to 1,800 ASF sold, um, you know, every single month with just this batch right here. That's not including the other rack that looks exactly like one of these. Um, so, you know, we're, we're going in, guys. I mean, we're, uh, you know, there's no turning back now. And, um, as you see, I want to kind of show you guys, these are really well-made, really well-made racks. Um, you know, my water lines are ran up to my five gallon. Eventually, I'm going to buy like a 15 gallon and replace this so I don't have to, you know, fill it up so much. Um, but, you know, as you see, the rat food, I use this stuff from Chewy. I think it's like a 23% or something. Um, it's called, it's, I don't, I can't pronounce the name of it, so I'm not going to embarrass myself. But literally, just go on Chewy, guys, search up rat food, and it comes in a 50-pound bag. And there's a couple, there's like an 18% and a 24%. I'm pretty sure. And, uh, went ahead and went with the 24. It's a little bit more expensive, but it seems to do the job well, guys. I mean, I have, we have no die-off here. Um, you know, as you see, I'm going to show you guys a colony over here. So these are 70 series tubs, and I'm eventually going to make some more of these racks because they're really, really handy for going like an 8 to one to a 9 to one colony, which is obviously double the size of this. But I personally want to go towards the smaller colonies, but I would not mind doing a few big colonies just because they do so well. These small colonies will do great, but these bigger colonies are also good to have. I just don't want a shitload of them, guys. I want, I don't want, you know, 48 giant 9 to one colonies. That's just going to be a lot of cleaning in one tub. That's why I went here. There's going to be a lot less babies to deal with in here versus there is in here. Anyway, I'm going to show you guys. This is, uh, this was created 8/1 of this year. As you see, there's a ton of babies, guys. I mean, they're all up underneath there sucking on that mama. Um, I'm going to show you this one right here. You see, again, they've all moved cuz I've been in here, but there's a ton of babies in here, guys. And that's me, that's after me pulling babies last week. I pulled all these. So literally just from these two racks, basically two and a half racks, I pulled all these babies. Watch out, guys. Guys, so there's a ton back in there. They're all piled in there. And then there's a ton in there, guys. They're all piled up in there. I mean, there's, there's a ton of them. And then down here, there's also another. I mean, that's all just that. Just goes to prove how good they breed for me, guys. That's three full tubs. That's probably 200 plus, um, ASF from just one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12. That's probably 200 ASF in one month. And I'll probably have more to pull when I clean again within that month. Um, and literally just, you know, less than 12 colonies, really. I mean, that's, that's absolutely crazy. Um, that just goes to prove how good they work for me. Um, if I'm telling you guys right now, best thing to do, um, if you're going to start colonies, get you a rack. You know, go buy you a rack. They're super cheap. I mean, literally, you can buy this right now for probably 250, 300 bucks. It comes with nipples and the whole package, nipples package, the nipples, um, your five-gallon bucket with your quick connects and everything like that. And then I would go to Tractor Supply and buy you some pine shavings and then some horse pellet shavings or horse pet bedding. I mean, um, animal bedding. It's called horse pellet, I think. Um, it works really good because it's literally just like, it's like a pellet, and as soon as it gets wet, it expands and turns into like, uh, dust, which really helps with the odor in here for me. Like, I don't have much odor at all. Um, so I would do that and then just out and buy you some ASF, guys. They're going to be expensive at first. You know, when you buy lower quality, lower quantities of ASF, you're going to spend some money. You're probably looking at $5, $6 a piece. But literally, guys, if you don't have a ton of snakes, you can start out low with one or two colonies, and I'm telling you, before you know it, you're going to have a whole rack full. Like, I mean, let's just say you started with an 8 to one on one of these tubs and you bought this rack, you would have this whole entire tub filled up within probably six months if you held back and fed, you know, your few snakes. So it's, it's, it's very doable with just literally probably a $40 investment on the ASF and then $250 here and then fill up with water, put some food in it. Really, you're probably looking at $350, 300, I say $400 bucks, um, between getting the rack, buying the bedding, get an ASF and get them started. $400 investment that will feed your snakes, um, if you have a smaller collection for, I mean, ever really. I mean, if you keep on changing out and then obviously get your new bloodline every six months, you're going to be completely fine. So that's that. Um, like I said, I really just wanted to show you guys the new setup and kind of my goals for the rodents here. Um, you know, I don't have a ton of snakes yet. I probably got, I don't know, 40 adults, maybe 45, 50 adults max. Next year, probably looking at more like 60, 70 adults from the stuff coming from Cali. And, um, you know, obviously you're going to have some grow outs and some whole backs and then babies. So with all this, I should be plenty good enough to sell over 1,500 ASF a month, not including what's the other rack that's in here. We get that other rack, man, we're going to be pumping some freaking ASF. But we're going to start smaller and kind of just slowly ramp up until we get to our peak. And who knows, I may end up even doing more. I may even turn this into a full-scale operation where I go out and I buy another or get another three or four of these made and we go big. I mean, we're talking big, like 10,000 ASF a month. You know, that's definitely in the future, cuz that ain't right now. I'm telling you that right now, unless I'm making some good money, I'm not breeding these things full time. I'll say that. I mean, this will be good to make a few extra grand a month and, um, you know, just help things out. It would be awesome. And, uh, like I said, that's really going to be the video, guys.
