These are the hottest AI app builders in the world for nontechnical people. And I built the exact same app in all three of them. And my friends, I can tell you right now, it was not what I expected. And by the end of this video, you're going to know exactly which one you should use for [music] your specific use case. So with no time to lose, let's jump in.
But before we start building, let's set some ground rules so that we compare apples with apples. Rule number one, I'm going to be using the exact same prompt or product requirement document that I'm going to create beforehand with Claude. And then I'm going to input that in all three. That way we can make sure that they all have the same amount of information to work with. Rule number two, after we get the result of that first prompt, I'm only going to have 10 minutes to work in each one of these app builders. And as soon as this timer hits zero, I'm going to have to stop working. Now, on top of that, I'm also going to be following the exact instructions that are given to me inside the chat window, meaning that I'm going to allow these platforms to actually guide me along the build, what I should be building next, what the next prompt should build. And at the end, I'm going to be judging these platforms based on three key criteria: design, functionality, and ease of use. And as a bonus, cuz everyone always asks me this, we're going to be covering pricing and usage.
And now, you're probably asking, what are we actually going to build here? Now, my most successful lead magnets have actually been free courses, [music] specifically video courses. And what they really do is they help build trust with your audience. Show them that you are an expert in specific area. So, if you add value and build trust when those people need some kind of a service or product, they're going to be thinking of you top of mind. So, [music] for this challenge, I'm going to create a video course platform similar to Teachable. Let's check it out.
Okay. So, the first step here is to jump into your chosen LLM. In my case, it's actually Claude. Yours might be Chad CBT. No problem. But first thing I would do is go here and grab the latest model. So basically in this case, Opus 4.6 is the best as of the moment that I'm recording this video. And then I came in and just put a very simple prompt asking it to build me a PRD for my web app. I want to build this [music] free course platform. I want it to be similar to Teachable, very userfriendly. I also mentioned that I wanted it to kind of look and feel like Apple products. And most importantly, I asked it to create a starter prompt for an AI coding platform. Now, because I did that and each one of these app builders actually has their own technology stack that they're going to be using, I asked it to actually exclude the part about tech stack so that the app builder can use its own. So, just by putting that in, I pretty much go ahead and [music] go.
Awesome. Couple minutes later, we're back and it's pumped out a full PRD plus as a part two, it's created the starter prompt. So, the first thing always is like the vision, then the kind of design and all that stuff. core features, target user, perfect admin as well. It talks about what we want to see inside the admin panel. So, it actually understands there are different user types, which is great. So, the student and the admin, very cool. UIUX specs. Yeah, it's really gone in a lot of depth and hopefully in this part two. There you go. It's created the full starter prompt. So, now basically I can grab the starter prompt and put it straight into the app builders to get this party started.
Now, the first platform we're going to build in has an absolutely crazy story. And it's the story of this guy, a guy called Mayor Schlommo. After coming back from military duty, he built this app in 6 months and sold it to Wix for $80 million. Now, the crazy thing is he got it off the ground completely solo, only had eight employees when he sold it and was [music] profitable. The name of this platform is B4. And yes, my friends, the timer starts now. Let's [music] go.
Oh sh. Okay, so I'm inside of B 44 and this is what the interface looks like. I basically have to input my prompt right here in the description box and it is a massive one. So, we're going to give it a second to do that. And now we're going to check out a little bit what's up on this interface. So, as usual, left nav, we're going to be able to interact with the agent. Here we have discuss, which is basically chat mode. We're going to have plus, which uploads files. On the top here, we have preview, which is where we're going to see what comes up. And dashboard is pretty much where we're getting access to anything else. Right now up here top right we can see we can connect our GitHub which is pretty straightforward. More actions. Let's see files used for this page. Activity monitor. Importing projects if you want to import it from somewhere else. And then upgrade. We're going to talk about pricing later so I won't cover this too much.
Now one thing that's cool is that it starts telling you about additional things that you can do. So you can restore previous versions of the chat. If you messed up after one prompt you can come back to the old one. Visual editing. You'll be able to do that within the app once we actually are in the preview. You can connect to WhatsApp, Calendar, notion, Slack, just by asking the chat, which is really cool. So, if you needed to interact in any one of those tools from within here, you're going to be able to simply by saying in the chat, "Hey, connect this to WhatsApp." And then it's also saying that you can brainstorm and discuss at 0.3 credits per request, which is basically just saying, "Hey, it's way cheaper if you're trying to plan things [music] out, if you have questions." And that's pretty much chat mode, which in this case is called discuss.
So, now we see it's actually created quite a few pages. If we come up here, the landing page, the onboarding page, dashboard, learn lessons, the quiz certificate. So, all pretty cool and we're seeing that it's continuing right now and it's working on the admin. Now, Base 44 just made a big update and I'm excited to see how this works out. But they basically did the standalone backend, meaning that you can do things like authentication, database, and more importantly, it can interact with others like cloud code and things like that. So, it's really, really a cool update.

Perfect. So, when I log in, this is pretty much what I see. The courses, the different course modules. I can click into any course module, and I can go specifically to that video. Very cool. In this case, I don't see any video material, so I'll have to be specific that we're doing video. So, let's go back in here. In this case, I also have an admin panel because I'm the admin. This is actually really impressive what it's being able to create here. Resume learning. Then I continue going through the modules as soon as I finish one. I can also take the quiz for that module. Let's mark this one as complete. Confetti. I love that. Keeping people stoked. And then I have a little check mark once it's been done. Let's go back to the dashboard. Okay. Two of 20 lessons done. I like that. It gives you the progress report, learning streak in terms of days. That's cool. Let's go and see the admin panel.
Here we can see the usability, the total enrollments, the active learners, completion rate, and they shows me as a student. Perfect. So, this would be really good for me to monitor to basically see, hey, if people are going further along the learning journey, maybe I can hit them up and be like, hey, like, you know, I see that you are potentially interested in uh building things out. And maybe hit them with an offer content. Very cool.
So, here I can actually add modules. Let's go ahead and do that. Title of module. Let's go. [snorts] Let's go ahead and save. Okay, we can see that. Add lesson now to the module. Duration. Probably need to fix that here. 26. Excellent. Content type of the lesson. This is just video. How to build a business in the AI era. Go ahead and save this. So, let's go back to the student view. Let's even see if this being added. Let's go. Look at that. Now I can go and check this out and pretty much I can play my video within here. And then if I'm done here, I can basically mark as complete. Done. And it's [music] going to show as complete here. Okay. So this actually works very well. I'm quite surprised. But now let's see what it suggests for us to do next.
Here on the bottom left, it's saying add a course progress tracking, create instructor profiles, add course rating and reviews. I could say that basically I'm happy with the way that it currently looks and ask it what to do next. I'm happy with the current functionalities. What should I do next? What areas would you like to focus on next? Add more course content lessons? No. Let's polish the UIUX. That's one thing that I want to do. I think that we could do better than this. And so, it's basically figuring out what it could improve and it's making better visual hierarchy, richer colors. And I love that it suggested some things because if I don't really know what to do next, then I think this would be super super valuable.
Time is starting to run out here. So, let's see what we can do in 3 minutes. And hopefully we can get this done and maybe one other thing done. Okay. Bang. It's created and updated. It's done. Landing page bigger, bolder. Yeah, I love this landing page a lot more than the last one. Last one looked a little bit more templated. This looks a lot more clean and professional. This is a lot better in terms of it's just smaller details, but no credit card required. Definitely in line with what I had in mind. And I love these little fades here. Okay. Yeah, this is a lot better as well. Maybe just this 14 and complete I would keep in white. Looks a little bit off there. Yeah, very nice. It strikes out once you've done the whole module. And it's showing that I'm very Yeah, look, I did this lesson one, then lesson 11, then lesson 21 that I created content here. Let's go ahead and edit that. Now, the second platform we're going to build in is pretty much what put AI coding for non-technical people on the map. It's a Swedish startup. They're currently valued at $6.6 [music] 6 billion and they were able to go from 0 to $200 million in annual revenue in only one year. That's right, 12 months. Let me introduce you to one of the biggest unicorns coming from Sweden, Lovable. Your time starts now.
Okay, so we're inside the dashboard for Lovable and as you can see, it's a very similar interface. Let's go ahead and just input that long prompt and upload it. As you can see, left nav kind of similar features here. Plus, you can add things, visual editing, the planning here. You can [music] stop and you can also type a message that cues, meaning that as soon as the last prompt is done, then it cues the next prompt, which is also a very cool feature when you know exactly what the next step is going to be for you. Now, at the top here, we kind of have things separated, right? We have the cloud, which is basically the backend and all this stuff, database, etc. You have the design tab, you have the code tab, you have analytics tab, and a couple additional ones here as well, like security, speed, etc., etc. You're also getting a little educated around different features.
So, let's just go through a couple. Uh, lovable cloud allows you to get AI and also full apps hosted. You can revert and edit messages as well, so you can go back if you didn't like the last prompt. E-commerce is now included. They have an integration with Shopify, measure performance and the analytics and custom rules. So, basically, you can also add a knowledge base here or have rules that it basically can't bypass throughout the [music] project. Now, as you can see on the left hand side, it's already asking for access to cloud. So to be able to set up the back end, right? Database, storage, authentication. It's asking where we would like this to actually be in the Americas because we're [music] in the US.
So once I've done that, it's going to actually already build all this stuff out. It needs this because it's understood that we're already talking about lots of backend functionalities, how this works, how that works. The spec is very complete that we created. And that's why honestly it might take a little longer in all of these tools to actually create a first version. However, [music] it's going to be a lot more complete because we're being a lot more specific. So, now let's just sit back, relax, and see what it comes up with.
Bang, bang. We're ready. Let's check this out. First thing I notice is that the landing page looks pretty good. Not necessarily perfect, but pretty good. Let's see what you'll learn. Okay, I like this. It's actually building a landing page beyond what we had actually talked about. Very cool. Ready to build. Yeah, simple. This is pretty much what we instructed it to do. The only thing is what you'll learn which I think is really cool. Start learning. Let's go ahead and create an account here.

Let's check out what else. Okay, so I'm back here and let's actually check out the view for admin. I want to see what this looks like. It is saying it's on admin, but I don't currently [music] see it. So, let me go ahead and tell it I can't see the admin. I'm actually going to go into plan and ask it about that. Now, this is some valuable time that is eating up here. 4 minutes away from the end, and this is probably going to cost me the amount of edits that I can actually do. However, let's keep going.
Okay, it's created a plan for this. I'm going to go ahead and approve it. So, it seems like here it's actually taken a more phased approach in building this out. It's built out the first structure [music] and now it's going to build on top of that. And it's actually a little strange because it does have the dashboard, but then it had already created the admin and it seems like it might have made some small mistake along the way. At this point, usually in the project, I would probably just start again, but since I want this to be a fair comparison, I'm just going to keep going and follow its instructions on what to do next.
Okay, so that was actually surprisingly fast. It actually created that and it added me to the admin. Let's go ahead and see what this looks like. Very cool. Allows me to manage the course content. If I go inside of here, I can also edit these or delete them. Very cool. Let's go ahead and add a lesson here. Lesson [music] added. Now we can go inside this lesson. We can adapt it. Video URL. Try to do the same thing as we did inside of B 44 so that we can try to get an apples for apples comparison to these two tools. Let's come up with a plan next review. And no, uh, running out of time. So the next thing that comes out even if there's an error will be what we present at the final product.
Okay. So let's see what it's given us here. It's created an animation for the appearance of it which looks pretty cool. That's disappearing but overall I think this look and feel it's pretty cool. I like it. This login screen is now a little bit better as well. Okay. This looks a little bit smoother, slicker. There's this like border that looks pretty cool. Excellent. Get started. Let's go ahead and watch one. This is pretty cool. This sort of little detail here where this is glass morphic. Okay, so this is the admin panel also looks pretty great. Yeah, mild improvements I think here. Nothing huge or grandiose. Let's go ahead and add a module. Okay, and if we add a lesson inside the module, let's go ahead and see the lesson. We click on that, we can adapt it. Lesson one. Okay, so this is pretty much looks very similar. Let's move on to the next.
So, quick reminder, the scoring is going to be done at the end. So stick around. Now let's talk about the third platform. Well, they raised $100 million in 2025 and were one of the first to the scene along with Lovable. In fact, this was the first platform that I landed on where I was very impressed with what was actually capable with AI coding platforms cuz I'm not technical. And so at first, platforms like Cursor were just a little bit intimidating. And to be honest, I'm quite excited because it's been a couple months I haven't been back into this app builder. And I think it has a lot a lot of potential. So let me get this clock set for the right time. And we are ready to roll. Let's go.
Okay, so this is Bolt. I really love the look and feel of this. Let me go ahead and input that prompt and we're going to have it build now. So this one as well, very similar interface here. You can switch out the different models. You can use the latest Opus 4.6 if you want. Visual editing is done with the select button. Planning is done with plan. And it's basically going to one by one kind of showcase what it's doing. I think the planning phases for these three tools are just really cool. They've done a really good job. Here we have the code view where it's setting up the entire codebase. Here we're going to be able to see the database once it's set up. Now here you also have analytics, authentication, the knowledge base, server functions, secrets, and also some integrations [music] like Stripe. So we're going to give it a second here. I'm going to go back into the preview mode and then we're going to check out what it pumps out first and take it from there.
Okay, first results here. And the first thing I notic is that it feels a little bit clunky. Not really happy with the color of this. This looks a little too basic for my liking. I do like this little thing that's pointing towards down what you'll learn structured path. I wish that there was maybe like point by point here. I love that they actually put pictures here and real testimonials. Well, real fake ones, but so I can really visualize what this would look like when I did put my testimonials there. Get started.
Now, this is pretty clean interface here. And I can also connect with Google. Let's go ahead and see with Magic Link. Okay, you've got mail. This is pretty cool. So, let's go ahead and click login. Um, okay. So, it seems like this is having an issue logging in. Let me go ahead and try a different route, which would be to [music] actually publish this and then see if we can actually get it to work in the cloud.
Okay, so this is persisting. I tried to log in with Google and I tried to log in with the magic link and none of both actually work right now. I'm going to give myself a couple more minutes on this one because we're having trouble even accessing the project itself, right? we can only really get to the point at which we are trying to log in. So, I've chosen to just tell it, hey, I can't log in for these reasons. Please help me. Let's see what it does.
Okay, as you might have seen there, there's quite a bit of glitching on the left nav for some reason. This is demo live first try. And so, I think that this is definitely sometimes things can go sideways. So, I'm just going to try to work through this so we can actually see the results and then I'll probably do one additional prompt because I'm already way past the [music] 10 minutes here. So, I finally just said, "Hey, just stop the authentication. just allow me to go straight to the dashboard once I click on start learning. So now [music] I refreshed and let's see where it brings me.
Now at least we have something working. It's a little more basic than I would have thought of, right? It still has these three things that we asked for. Design isn't too too bad, but a little clunky I would say. And pretty much from here, there's not much that I can really do, right? Just shows me my progress. And it didn't really create any dummy data for me to be able to check out here. I would have liked to be able to at least test the uh user interface. But now let's quickly do a couple of additional things. One of which would be to find where I can get access to the actual admin panel as well. So I simply asked on the left here in plan mode. And based on this, it tells me there is no admin panel. So it seems like it hasn't built that out. And I did expect it to be there because it was in the PRD. But let's continue.
Okay, take the next step. So, when I say okay, take the next step, it's actually creating this admin [music] panel, which seems to be the next natural step for it. I'm just kind of surprised it didn't do it from the get- go. Okay, so now it created this admin panel and it's giving me a code under here to test it out. Okay, this is actually pretty cool. Manage users. Let's see. Manage courses. Create your first course. Build your business with AI. Go ahead and create course. Okay, it seems like this is not fully functional. Come back. [music] Content library. Bolt, I feel like I've given you a good shot here, but unfortunately, you haven't really come through in the way that I wished. Okay, so let's keep it at that for the moment.
Now, let's talk about the bonus points, which are all around pricing and usage. Okay, so let's look at what is what. Bolt basically has a million tokens per month for free on their free plan. So, probably the best value on the free plan. the pricing per month. If we go monthly, I'm only going to be talking about monthly prices here. Starts at $50 per month, but I believe they have a $25 plan month. Okay, so this is actually pretty good value in terms of you get 10 million tokens for that. The pricing is reasonable, but honestly, that didn't really get me so far. So, the price is a little bit less of an issue for me here.
Next up, we have Lovable. Now, Lovable starts at $25 per month as well, and I was actually able to get some pretty good value out of this. Their free plan is definitely not amazing, but it does get you first results. Now, let's check out base 44. Okay, pretty reasonable. 25 messages, credits for free for $25, 100 messages. The credit system is quite a bit different, so I wouldn't judge them. Apples per apple. I think base 44 and lovable kind of have a similar way of charging. And then both has the 1 million kind of plan. So, you see that it's kind of like a different system altogether. The question starts becoming, well, how far does that actually get you?
Okay, so for Bolt, I started with 10 million tokens and I finished with 7.7 million, meaning that I used about 23% of my total credits. If we consider that was $25. We could say that build cost $5. Now, of course, it was a lot less complete, but that seems pretty cheap. For lovable, I started out with 85 credits. I finished up with 45 credits. We got quite a bit built, meaning that we spent 40 credits here, 25 bucks a month, around $11, which is absolutely reasonable for their plan because honestly, I went way further with this build. Now, finally, we have base 44. Now, here I start with about 45 credits. I have 5.8 credits left, meaning that it cost me around 10 11 bucks. Kind of similarly to Lovable. This one as well. I was impressed with how far it went.
But let's talk about the grading now, my friends. Okay, so first up, Bolt. As you can see from this, it's going to mark very low. I think this design looks really bad. And yeah, I just wish it had been a little more subtle, a little more classy. I don't like this kind of uh gradient. This is kind of incomplete as well with the design. Now, this section is pretty much the only one I like. Simple, classy. And then, yeah, frequently asked questions is not too bad, but I'm really not a huge fan of the gradient is chosen and to go for this kind of big block of color. So, Bolt is going to get a two out of five here. here. I don't think it's the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's also just not that great.
Next up, lovable. It just looks a lot more clean and composed and basically has all of the content that I'm looking for, right? Lessons, time of content, certificate. The fact that they actually went into saying what people would learn and these different modules, I think, is like one step beyond what I had asked for, which is pretty cool. You have a light animation for these three. Not too bad. I would have liked to have some pictures here and frequently asked questions. I'm going to give this one a four out of five.
And then finally, we have base 44. This one actually surprised me. I think it's quite fancy, classy. There's a really small gradient here. Not a huge fan of the logo, and maybe I would have liked for this signin button to be the same size as the start learning for free, but generally speaking, I think it's done a good job here. I would actually populate these right here with some faces. And yeah, I'm kind of liking it. I like the primers it's created. This is classy. I think I'm also going to give this one a four out of five. And we're going to move on to the next category, which is functionality.
Okay, so for Bolt here, I wasn't very impressed because it kept breaking basically. And I pretty much had to turn off authentication to get it to actually work. Also, I noticed that it didn't go as far as the other builders where it pretty much stopped at creating just the user interface for the learners. It also didn't add any sort of dummy data here, so I could visualize what a course module might look like and kind of click on that. It also didn't create the admin view and frankly I think that it's a little bit of an underd delivery. So I'm going to give this a two out of five.
Moving on to lovable here. It did go quite a bit beyond. As you can see this is the login screen and I can also log in right here. Boom. Excellent. And when it logs me in it brings me to this page. I can pretty much go ahead and get started. Excellent. I can see this on the lefth hand side. I can navigate from one lesson to the next. There's also mark as complete which gives us the little animation of like yes I feel good about myself. I feel like these functionalities are really good. It also switched me as you can see right now to the next lesson. When I pretty much go back to the dashboard I was also impressed with the fact that it [music] broke down the top categories up here and then underneath here it pretty much had the level of completeness admin panel created out of the gate. That was really good. So, let's go ahead and click on that. And it allowed us to manage the content, too. See all of the enrolled students. In this case, I didn't get much of a view because we didn't have any enrolled students yet. But this was all from that very first prompt. As you saw, it allows me to quite easily add new lessons, and I was also able to make the lessons work out of the gate. So, for this one out of five, I'm easily going to give it a 4 and 1/2. I think it was really, really solid in terms of what it gave me right out of the gate.
Now with base 44 here, I was also quite happy. It created the landing page and all these additioning pages, the onboarding page, as you can see right here. This was maybe something where it went even beyond what I expected. It created a full onboarding flow where it asks questions. Yeah. So like you could go through here. You could say, "Okay, let's go. Choose your pace. Recommended steady." Now, this one I actually find as good as the experience that we had inside of Lovable. I think it did a very good job here. It even has the quiz. Now, I haven't added any quizzes. I was able to add video out of the gate, which was great. It also created this pretty sweet admin dashboard. And here, I actually found this to be potentially the most complete one. And it even showed me analytics in real time because I started visiting the website. And then it's giving me live progress as well for myself. I checked out a couple lessons and clicked on complete. And now I can see myself right here. And I can see how complete it is. So, all in all, really cool. I can switch between the admin and the student view. For the content itself here, I was able to add this one quite easily. I can also adapt this one and yeah, I was able to make this one work as well, which was great. It also added an admin student detail view, which I actually don't have access to because we don't have any. And as well a certificate. I think that this was really, really good. In terms of functionality, I would easily give it a 4.5 as well.
Now, let's talk about the third category, ease of use. Bolt, as you can imagine, was a pretty bad ease of use for me. Again, I don't want to be harsh because I feel like sometimes these bug and sometimes they don't and it's not really the platform's fault. So, based on this experiment, I would give it a two out of five. It basically was easy to use, but it continually broke and then it was hard to actually visualize the pages. So, there was kind of like a number of problems and when I tried to fix things, it also wasn't able to fix itself. So, yeah, two out of five.
Now, let's go on to Lovable. Ease of use just great. I always really appreciate being able to work within Lovable. I think there are some little tweaks that could be adjusted to the visual edits sometimes where it asks you to kind of use credits instead of just replace text, but that's because it wants that text to be dynamic, so it has to kind of add some code around the text as well. All in all, huge fan. I think that it's very easy to use. I'm going to give this a 4 and 1/2 out of five.
Now, let's talk about Bass 44. This one was actually the one that impressed me the most. It's probably as easy to use as Lovable. maybe lovable. You have to learn a couple additional concepts, whereas base 44 is maybe a little bit more userfriendly for completely nontechnical people, but they're pretty equal. I'll give it a four out of five, but I was super surprised with how much it's improved over the past couple months. So, as you can see in my books, both of these got a 13 out of 15. I really think that Lovable and Bass 44 were great competition for each other just because of the ease of use. It's very similar kind of platform, and I found that it just did a good job with the prompt that I had. So, my advice is actually try both of them. You can easily try them both on the free plan and whichever one you feel just is better for you. I would say for nontechnical people, both these platforms are ideal and I love seeing this kind of healthy competition cuz it makes people like us have an awesome product at the end of the day.
