Hello everyone, this is Ears, and for today's video, I'll be showing you how to properly do hand washing.

So without further ado, let's get started.

Before doing the hand washing, make sure to prepare all the materials and assess your hands. Cut the nails short, remove all jewelry, and check hands for breaks in the skin, such as hangnails or cuts.

Stand in front of the sink, turn on the water, and adjust the flow. Do not allow your uniform to touch the sink during the washing procedure. Flex knees lightly if the sink is low.

Wet the hands and wrist areas. Keep hands lowered and elbows up to allow water to flow towards fingertips. Use about one to two teaspoons of liquid soap from the dispenser, or lather thoroughly with the bar soap if you are using one.

With firm rubbing and circular motions, wash palms and back of hands, each finger, the areas between the fingers, the knuckles, wrist, and forearms. Wash up the forearms at least as high as contamination is likely to be present.

Wash at least one inch above the area of contamination. If hands are not visibly soiled, wash one inch above the wrist.

Right palm over left, left over right, palm to palm. Fingers interlace, back fingers to opposing fingers. Interlock, rotational rubbing of right thumb clasped in left palm and vice versa.

Rotational rubbing backwards and forwards with tops of fingers and thumb of right hand in left, and vice versa. Interlace the fingers and thumbs, move the hand back and forth.

Continue the friction motion for 10 to 30 seconds. Interlock the fingers of the opposing hands. Do rotational rubbing of each thumb with firm rubbing and circular motion against the palm of the other hand, then do the same to the other hand.

Use an orange wood stick or toothpick to clean the fingernails. Make sure to clean each fingernail.

Rinse thoroughly using an upward motion from the fingertips down to the wrist. Wash hands for a minimum of 15 seconds. For a more thorough hand washing, extend the time for wetting, washing, and rinsing.

Pat dry the hands and wrists thoroughly with a hand towel or paper towel. Turn off the water and use the paper towel to turn off the faucet.

Use free lotion on hands if desired.

Thank you for watching! Less than the moment.
