Hey guys, welcome back to the very long-awaited sequel of my America Vlog. I've been delaying this video for way too long already, and I'm sorry. So here's the continuation of the rest of my time I spent in America. Hope you [Music] enjoy.
Okay, so continuing from where we left off, we were driving home from our road trip to Lake Tahoe, and we stopped by this outlet mall for a while. But I'm pretty sure I fell asleep in Starbucks because I didn't record anything. When we go back to our house, we got a chance to ride our cousins' Tesla. Because at that time in 2021, there were no Teslas in Singapore, so riding one in America was definitely a weird bucket list that we were glad to [Music] fulfill. And even at this speed, you just—well, that was it for day six, anyways.
It's day seven, and it was time to go to San Francisco. We were not staying there overnight, but we just took a day trip over there. Ready? Do you see you very New York? No, we didn't really buy a lot of things because a lot of stuff were overpriced. After walking for a bit, we decided to drive through the Golden Gate Bridge. Nothing extraordinary; it was just cool to drive through a famous landmark. Anyways, we met our cousins again. "Haven't seen you guys in so long!" One day, yeah, and we decided to go eat fish and chips from a food truck. Everybody—and my father dropped his phone. Yeah, it was pretty bad. It was also my first time trying fried Oreos, and it was so good. And after stuffing ourselves, we decided to go walk by the pier. You can tell all this footage was from 2021, and that's the Alcatraz prison, which we will be visiting in the later part of this video. Because it was the year end, it was getting dark really early, so we left San Francisco already and decided to drop by an Apple Store because my father broke his phone and we needed a new one. [Music] Immediately. Look at this idiot with his Android; disgusting. Sadly, they had no stock, so we had to order online. So we just went home, and that was it for day seven.
Welcome to day eight, where we start off the day with the car door slamming onto my sister's finger. She's fine. We were all really exhausted from San Francisco, so we decided to spend the day doing some light shopping around town at TJ Maxx and Target. And all the stuff, yep, that's all we got at TJ Maxx. And some driver reversed into our vehicle, but she was really apologetic, so yeah, we didn't care. Right now, we're at Krispy Kreme because we're going to see if we can try and redeem a donut with our Singapore vaccine. Yeah, if you didn't know, at that time, each person was allowed to get a free donut if you were vaccinated, and it surprisingly worked, even though we were not citizens. I'm not sure if it's still going on now. That's cool. Oh wow, that's a beautiful—how did someone even do that? Can we just take a look at how big the chips are, and it's so cheap too. Okay, we're done Target. On the way back, we went to see the Tesla Factory, which was pretty cool. We are at—I don't know—I think it's—to W—look at that sunset! And to our surprise, my dad's iPhone arrived the moment we got home. And then rip up the cover. There we go. Ta-da! And we ended the day with Costco. Addition inside a supermarket.
Today is day nine, and we decided to go to Apple Park in Silicon Valley, which is the tech paradise of [Music] America. Oh, we accidentally drove into the employees-only area. Very smart, I know. So we had to detour and make a whole lot of U-turns, and we ended up in the employees' area again. As or C. Well, we eventually got there, and I got to say the staff was so kind. For camera, the best shots that you can get of Apple Park. On the rooftop, check out the rooftop. Okay, thank you so much. When she talked about my camera, I genuinely thought she was about to take it away, but she's just so nice. Apple really knows what they're doing. We went to check out the Apple Cafe, and we all got our drinks. I got a white chocolate milk, I'm pretty sure, and it was super good. Look at that Apple logo. And then we proceeded onto the rooftop to check out the view, and it was just stunning. Shh, an Android. And even the corridor to the toilet has security. Apple Park was cool. Anyways, our next destination was Santana Row. This Beta shop was pretty cool; it was a shop that sold futuristic products that usually is not sold in a regular tech shop, kind of like CES. My dad bought some portable iron, which he ended up returning a day before we left America. And after that, we headed for lunch at the Cake Factory. It was so good. We topped it off with Shilling Fried Chicken fish waffles, and that's it. Then we decided to stop by Lucid, which is Tesla's rival, and honestly, their cars look so much more stylish than Teslas. If they deliver what they promise, US, I'm pretty sure Lucid will take over Tesla very, very quickly. Came across another Apple Store, but we don't care about that. And just like that, it was already nighttime. We did go home to rest for a while, but that same night we went to our cousin's school to watch his basketball match. Yeah, it's not working. I'm [Music] [Applause] so—and look at how red my eyes were. I was so sleep-deprived. If you're curious, this is the kind of food they sell in vending machines in American schools. And that was pretty much it for day nine.
All right, it's day 10. We spent the whole of today just driving around scenic routes and visiting coastal areas and also Monterey. We also have never used the parking meter before, and it was also our first time using this coin molding machine. Another one. And despite the freezing cold weather, we still got ice cream for whatever reason. It was good though. Bring you up front, and I'll give you a change. All right. And for lunch, we had seafood at Bubble Gum Seaside Restaurant. It was so delicious, but turns out I didn't even take any picture of it. Following that, we went into the 17-Mile Drive, which is basically 17 miles of scenic routes that you can drive in, which we accidentally drove out of it somehow. Yep, there were just more breathtaking views for us to take in. Why is there a crap shell here? Sadly, the day always ended so early because of how early the sun sets, and we somehow still didn't even get over our jet lag after a week of being here, so it was time to head home. All right, we just arrived back, and now we're going to be trying Model S. A lovely cousin offered to drive us around in his Model S, and he [Music] flawed. No sound, right? Yeah, yeah. That night we had even more amazing friends who came over, and we all made sushi together. Sadly, I didn't vlog much because I had to sleep really early because I developed allergies from the seafood place that we ate at.
As for day 11, I'm just going to skim through this really quickly because we didn't do that much that day. We did more shopping; we had delicious food; more shopping; and I went to the Dollar Store to check out what they were selling over there. I thought this was the essence of chicken; they sold instant food here, but I don't even know if that's trustable. The only thing that's legit here—oh, that's SM to do. Yeah, there wasn't much content to film that day. As for the next day, we had to wake up really early in the morning because we were heading back to San Francisco. Well, first was to get more pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge because somehow we were not done. And it was also the day where we got a chance to visit the Alcatraz prison. Look at how misty it is. [Music] Today, down here on the dock, I'm going to give you a quick orientation. Look at all the weird stairs from the school students. Long time from 1934, so the building collapsed I think, and now it's all overgrown. It's so cold. We also met one of the former prisoners of Alcatraz prison. It was so cool having a chat with him. "So what were you in prison for?" "I came here for escapement from prison." So this is where the prisoners will shower, and this is a typical prisoner cell. Come on, Rean. And also the solitary confinement. It was so dark; it was literally pitch black without a phone torch light. And these were the escaping cells. If you guys didn't know the story, three people managed to escape the Alcatraz prison by making these dummy heads from clay or something. Honestly, the prison was such a vibe, and I highly recommend anyone to come visit here if you have the chance to do so. Imagine being a prisoner looking at that view, huh? Bing in the story. And to our surprise, our mom came back from Costco and bought us a lot of Costco hot dogs. After Alcatraz, we went to visit Lombard Street, which is probably the most windy road in America. We went to walk around it, and my uncle was daring enough to drive through it, and it was pretty scary, but he pulled it off amazingly. And after that, we went back to the Golden Gate Bridge—the third time, I don't even know why—but we got even better views of it. And as we were on our way to the next location, we had to drive through this cliff, and it was so sketchy because there were no guard rails at all at the side of the road. And we went to this nature trail, but only a few of my family members went in because we were all so cold, including me, and I kind of regret doing that because this was such a beautiful nature trail. And to end the day off, we visited our uncle's house back in San Francisco. At this point in the holiday, I already started to vlog a lot less because I was just getting tired already, and honestly, I was really homesick because we were in America for two weeks.
And on that note, we were done with San Francisco. It was our last full day in America, and we had to wake up really early for PCR tests because at that time, travel restrictions were still really strict. We pretty much wasted this whole day because we just went around to run errands, but that night we went to celebrate our sister's birthday at a Thai restaurant, and I didn't even vlog anything. I was really so homesick at that time. And the same thing applied for the next day because I also didn't vlog anything, and we also didn't do anything that evening. It was time for us to leave America. This was definitely the most painful part of the whole trip because we had so much fun in America in the two weeks. We had a great time with our cousins and exploring around the country, and I would love to come back here again. We said goodbye, and it was time to head back to Singapore.
It was good to be back in Singapore, and the first thing that hit me was the heat, and the second thing that hit me was a warm welcome to Singapore. Yeah, the guy told me to stop recording in America; they were so happy to see me recording, and then in Singapore they tell me to stop recording. Amazing. And that sums up my two-week America Vlog. I'm sorry for delaying this video for so long; I was just procrastinating editing this because at that time I didn't know how to vlog, so every footage was so shaky.
