[Music] Have you ever wondered where all these gadgets and gizmos on this thing are called pistol nomenclature? Let's get right into it.
First things first, we're going to make sure this pistol is clear and safe. Here's my magazine. I know it's not in there. It's not loaded. I'm just going to check my chamber. Nothing's in my chamber. Nothing came out. We're good to go.
So, this is our magazine. This is not called a clip. This is called a magazine. Our magazine goes inside of our magazine well, right here, like so. The magazine well sits inside of the pistol grip. This is where we grip our pistol. This line right here, everything below this line is the frame. Everything above this line is the slide, and the slide slides on top of the frame.
We have this section right here. This is called your trigger guard. Your trigger guard guards your trigger and the trigger well itself. The other side of our frame, we have our magazine release, which releases our magazine. I have my slide lock, slide release, which will lock my slide to the rear, or it will release my slide.
On my slide, I have my extractor right here. Anytime my slide cycles, the extractor actually rips the ammo out of the way for me. This is called my chamber. We have the front of the gun. This gives us our front sight. We have the rear of the gun. This gives us our rear sight.
A little extra credit: this is called Picatinny. This is to attach a flashlight. Some people put lasers on there.
So, we'll go through this one more time. We have our magazine. Magazine goes inside the magazine well. Magazine well sits inside the pistol grip. Everything below this line is the frame. Everything above this line is the slide, and the slide slides on top of the frame. I have my trigger guard right here, which guards my trigger and my trigger well. We have our magazine release right here. This releases the magazine. I also have my slide lock, slide release, my extractor, which removes the ammo, and the slide cycles. My chamber. Front of the gun gives me my front sight. Rear of the gun gives me my rear sight. That's pistol nomenclature. Have fun on the Range.
