Hello gorgeous people! Can you believe it? We are at the Finish Line. We're at the Finish Line, you guys. Another year already. I'm blown away that we're here, right at the last few days of 2024. Before we know it, like in days from now, we will be in 2025 and a whole new year will have begun. And this is the Finish Line. These are the last few days before the end.
And I found that it is very easy to just skip these days and to call it all, call it over, and to say, "All right, let's just unplug. We did our best. That's it. See you in 2025." You know, I, I'm done. I'm out. But I love having this conversation, especially between Christmas and New Year's, for those of you who celebrate Christmas and New Year's. Because there is this gap that I think we can get completely lost in, where instead of using it to our advantage to actually create something extraordinary, we just kind of get lost in a mound of cheese and wine. Next thing you know, it's 2025.
And so I want, I wanted to spend this time with you for many reasons. I know there, I knew there would be a lot less people in this program live than most of the others because a lot of people are with family right now. But I also know that there's a lot of us that also have businesses that we're working on. Or some of you may not have had the big holiday thing, and you may, this may be a really cool, you know, family reunion actually at the end of the year. And so I'm really happy, whatever it is that your situation is, whether you've made time in the middle of family dynamics to make time to be here, whether this is, this is like your family reunion for the end of this year, whether you're just really focused on growth this year and you're, this is, this is the time to really dive in and to make these, these decisions and to make these moves for yourself for this upcoming year. I'm just really grateful for your presence and I'm excited to have this discussion with you.
Because for me, adding this time to the end of the year has changed how I start the year. And I think so many of us skip the end and go right to the beginning. But it's not just about how, how we start a new year. That, that's not the only thing. It's how you end the year you started. And you can start 2025 fresh and say, "You know, turn the page. This is my year." But if you get in the habit of scrapping the end, then around the end of the year, people start giving up. If you go through the Finish Line, there's always time for this year to be remembered for something else. So the Finish Line is a really powerful part of the equation for a successful life.
Because it's how you do the end. The end of anything. The end of the party, the end of the year, the end of a relationship, the end of a program, the end of a package, the end of a trip. The end of, not, people aren't the best at the end. We're not. It's not our favorite. So we tend to bypass the end quite a bit. And I know this animation is emotional because it's so different. The energy of the end is so different than the energy of the beginning. The energy of the beginning is full of hope and excitement and, and the future. And the end is gratitude, sometimes sadness, nostalgia, feelings that we're not always super comfortable with. And so we're like, "Okay, that's a wrap. Let's not feel or think anything else until next year. Yay! Excited 2025."
So what I really want us to do together here is to really amp up the meaning, the mo, that you could possibly, like, the more that you could possibly amp up the meaning of this last year, this 2024 year, that you really showed up for and you did some big things for yourself. Whether it was in your personal life, whether it was in your business, whether you made some really difficult decisions, whether there were some really, really amazing wins or some difficult failures, whether there were things that you wanted to learn or things that you have learned. Like, this is a, this is a whole year that just went by.
And so one of the things that I've decided to do this year that's a little different than the other years' resolution revolution is taking a little bit of a spin. And there's new things that are going to be happening in it. And I needed to make space. And so what I decided to do is to take some of the processes that usually happen in Resolution Revolution and bring them for us in the Finish Line so that we could actually start doing some of the magical things of Resolution Revolution before the year ends. Because I think there's some parts of that program that could be really powerful done in the year before.
So this is the first thing I want you to contemplate. What I have found in my life, in my career, is that the most impactful part about hindsight is that it gives you vision on something when you look back and you say, "Okay, what worked? What didn't work? What would I do differently?" When you look back and you look with the power of hindsight, there's so much wisdom. And because most people avoid the nostalgia and the sadness, they also avoid hindsight. And so they also avoid the wisdom. And it's a decision to be wise, or you just bypass it your whole life. And then you hit, you get to the end and you realize all the wisdom you missed.
So what I love is making time as often as possible in my year to extract all the wisdom from the year that just came. And so the first homework that I'm going to give you between now and the end of the year that I, I really feel is going to be amazing. I've started doing it just today, and I think that it's going to make a big difference to do it at the end of the year instead of the beginning, is what I call a hindsight board. And so if you have ever in your life done a vision board, you know how that works. You cut out a bunch of papers and and photos and and things that you wish that you could do in your life, inspirational words, and then you stick them on a board and then you look at that board and you visualize it and you're like, "My desire is for my life to look like this in the future."
What a hindsight board is, and I've been doing this for years, and it is the most extraordinary process, is that I take all of my memories, like the height of my year, and I create a board of memories. And what's so incredible with this is that when I look at the board, a lot of years I'm like, "There is a time not long ago I couldn't have made up a, a board like this for the future. I don't think I could have even dreamt one up."
So how this works is you go through your phone, you go through all your pictures from last January or from January all the way to now. And every month, you're going to look through your memories and you're going to see, you're going to take your best pictures that you took. If you have a thing that you did and you realize, "Gosh, I didn't take any pictures of that," or "Gosh, the pictures I have of this suck." That happened. What you're going to do is you're going to go on the social media of the place you went, whether it was a restaurant you always wanted to go to, a hotel you always wanted to go to, whether it was you took a trip somewhere and you flew there, you want to take a, find a cool picture of a plane. And you're going to find the best possible pictures to represent what you did.
So let's say in January you had a New Year's party and you start on January 1st, you had this beautiful day, but you didn't really get anything to represent it well. You would find a beautiful thing, this is 2024, like a party or something like that that's really beautiful. You put it on your, on your hindsight board. If you did, if you, you got flowers for Valentine's Day and you never even posted them or you never took a picture of them really, or the picture is not out of this world, but you remember the flowers being out of this world. You would go into Pinterest, you would look for a picture of red roses that really touches your heart that you're like, "Gosh, that's so beautiful." And you are going to print that picture and you're going to put it on your hindsight board.
The, the idea behind this is that we don't always take the time to capture our lived experiences in the best possible way. But when we find either our own pictures or, and you can do this on a mobile if you want, so you could do this on a Canva app if you wanted and do a mobile version of this. But what you want to do is basically just create a hindsight board. So you've got your red roses and you've got something that symbolizes and New Year's. And then maybe you tried this restaurant that you went to and you would go on the website of the restaurant and see if you can find the most beautiful dish. "Oh, that's what I ate. Oh my gosh, they have a great picture of it." You post that on it.
And as you print all these pictures, eventually you're going to look at a full year of what you've done and it's going to be like, "What? This is wild." Every time I do a hindsight board, my jaw just falls on the floor. Especially because now I got in the, in the process of doing this, I became more fascinated with photography, honestly, because of this process. Because I started doing my hindsight board and I was like, "My pictures don't represent how beautiful that was. Let me go get one from the website." "Oh, my pictures don't represent how good that was. Let me get one from the website." And eventually I thought to myself, "Next year, one of my goals is, I want my pictures to represent better what I lived." And my pictures got better and better and better and better. And now when I do a hindsight board, it looks like it's a magazine. Like, how is this my actual life?
Because when I take the pictures, I'm not just taking the pictures. I know I'm building my hindsight board all year. So not only is this going to do something for you this year to do it, it's also going to put in motion something quite spectacular as you move into the next year of how you document your years and how you take intentional pictures and how you really experience the things that happen to you. Because it's like, "Gosh, this is not just happening right now. This is also a memory that I'm going to take for me. I'm going to take with me for the rest of time."
So you want to go through all of your months. Now, you are going to have all kinds of different kinds of images. You might also have words that really represent what you're doing. So let's say you had a year of abundance. You might write, "Abundance, Miracles, Gratitude." There's words maybe that you want to cut out that really represent your year and how you felt. "Love, Memories." You know, you may have people that you've lost this year, and they might have a beautiful place on your board. And you might have a, write words of love and gratitude in honor of a person that you love because they exist in your past. Those people, they exist in your past and they get a beautiful place of honor on this hindsight board.
And so you create the most beautiful collage. And again, you can print all of these out and do it manually and put it on a physical board and have it. Or you can do it all on the computer and have it on your computer. And if you want to post it to the group so we can see the kind of year that you've had, honestly, it's, it's changed my life to do this. I'm excited to do mine. I think it's going to be a beautiful process to do it at the end of the year instead of the beginning of next year. It's like a nice way to go through the Finish Line.
But what's incredible about doing it at the end of the year is that it's also going to make you realize that there's a few days left to make some memories that you may not have made yet. And so there's time for a brunch with a person that you love. There's time to call a person you haven't seen all year and say, "Hey, you want to FaceTime?" Or "Do you want to do you want to go for a walk?" Or "Do you want to go and have lunch somewhere?" Like, there's still time to do that between now and the end of the year. There's still time for a romantic date night. There's still time for a snowball fight with your kids. Or there's still time for, you know, baking cookies or something that would really be like, "Oh gosh, I wish I would have made a little more memories." Well, there's a few days left for that. And sometimes we just go too fast. It's the end. It's too late. But it really isn't. And this is one of the most memorable times of the year to make a difference and to do something like so meaningful.
It's not too late to call someone and make peace. It's not too late to have a conversation that, of forgiveness, before the end of the year so that you can walk into 2025 with an open heart and something behind you. Like, there's still time for 2024 to be remembered as the year that you dot dot dot. If you've been waiting to launch your business, you've been waiting to launch a new social media account, you've been waiting to do whatever it is, there's still time for that to be on your hindsight board for 2024. So this isn't just about already planning the New Year. It's also about how much life can you live between now and the, and there's still time for, for movie night in, in a really creative way in the living room. Bring the mattress in the middle of the living room floor and, and, and sleep in the living room and do a movie night. Like, there's still time to create memories.
So if you do this hindsight board, two things will happen. Number one, it's going to start to really feel exciting to look back in hindsight and to see the year that you've had. It's going to start making you feel excited for next year about what's coming and what you're going to be able to build and live next year. And the other thing it's going to do is it's going to make you realize there are a few days left and how many memories can you make between now and the end of the year at the Finish Line. Because it does matter and it does count.
So what I've found is this, every year where you cross the finish line and you're proud and you feel good about how you feel, it's almost like a trampoline for the next year. When we end a year and the feeling is, "Well, hopefully next year is better," that's a very slow into the next year. But if you can finish this year going, "Gosh, I am so grateful and I am so ready for, for 2025. I am so grateful. I'm so full. I'm so ready." That feeling is like a trampoline into the new year. And it is accessible no matter what kind of year you have had. I'll will tell you, I've done this process for myself on years where I felt like I was doing the moonwalk through the finish line. And I have done this process for myself, hey, thank you for jumping on. I have done this process for myself when I felt like I couldn't even be bothered to dress up for New Year's Eve. Like, I've done, I've done this process where it felt like the year was a wash. I've done this process when it felt like this was the best year of my life. And every time I've done it, if I do it with all of my heart, it sets me up for a new year that's out of this world.
To take some time at the Finish Line and reminisce. So why this part is important is because this will be the part of what worked, what worked in your year, what was beautiful about your year. Now, it's not lost on me that there might be things in this past year that did not work, that did not go well, that hurt your heart, that made you break and cry. That, that happens. And there'll be time for that in the Finish Line program. We're going to make some time to, to take care of your heart during, during this time so that you walk into this next year feeling different. But before we do that, we've got to anchor in the good.
And I've realized in my life that the right ang, the right order to do it is: what worked, then what didn't work, then what would we do differently. A lot of people want to start with what didn't work and what they would do differently, and then want to try to remember the good stuff. And by the time you get to the good stuff, there's, you're already so miserable with everything that went wrong that it's hard to touch. So you've got to touch the good stuff first. And then what it actually does is it sets a solid foundation for you to look at what didn't work with more sturdiness. And we need that sturdiness. We want that sturdiness because the whole goal is to go through this process to be empowered into the new year, not pressed. We don't want to get ourselves so low with what didn't work that we're like, "Ugh." We want to instead feel sof, solid, and strong and face the things that could have been done better. And the way to do that is to look at what worked.
So you're going to pull all your greatest memories. As you do this, you are going to recognize that there's a part of you that completely didn't realize how many incredible things that you actually did. You're going to be like, "What? I forgot about that. I forgot about that. I forgot about that. This is incredible. That's incredible. This is amazing. That is amazing. I didn't expect that. I, I had forgotten all about this. I had forgotten all about that." You're going to get to do that.
The other thing that's going to probably happen is you're going to also say, "Gosh, I wish I, I would take more time to appreciate these things in 2025. I'm going to spend a lot more time. I want to do this better. I want to do that holiday better. I want to do that moment better. I want to take more. I want to do this. I want to do this. I want to do this." You're going to realize how much you've done and how much you desire to do. And that is, I think, the best thing you can possibly do with the Finish Line.
Now, those of you who have social media presences and who are actually building a business, I will say that the highlight reel of your best videos and pictures makes a really great reel at the end of the year also, where you're like, "Thank you, 2024." This makes an incredible post. And so if you're looking for something at the end of the year to do with your social media that's really powerful, take some of your favorites and make a reel with it. It's really beautiful.
Okay, let me see here. "Watching currency truly shifting what I value, being in that feeling more." I love that. "What do you suggest we do with the things that we can do better?" It's not time for that yet. And it's so important that you do them one at a time.
So what I've also found is this: our lives go by pretty like, quite fast. I'm sure you've already started to experience that, that things go by too fast and it feels like, "Where did the time go?" One of the things that we do as adults that we didn't do so much as kids is we overthink what we're going to do. And what we don't think about, and we don't consider when we're doing that, is that we are spending time thinking about the thing that we want to do without realizing that it takes as much time to think about what we want to do than it does to do it.
I'm going give you the perfect example of this. One of my favorite stories about how I did this, and it always makes me laugh. When I was a little kid, when we had to get ready for school in the morning, I used to want to sleep as long as I could. I could sleep till 1:00 in the afternoon if you didn't wake me up. As a kid, that's why I don't tell people, "I hope you slept like a baby." You sleep like a baby. I tell them, "I hope you sleep like a teenager on summer break." Because I would just sleep until, until it was illegal. Like, I, I would just sleep forever. And so as a little kid, when I had to get ready for school in the morning, I just tried to take every second that I could. So I would literally put my clothes for school on the edge of my bed and put my clothes on in bed so that I didn't have to get out of bed in the cold and put my clothes on. So I would stay in bed as long as I could and I would put the clothes on.
Can I tell you how often it happened that I was in my bed thinking about the clothes on the edge of the bed, thinking about moving the covers just to put the clothes on, and I'd fall back asleep thinking I had gotten changed when in fact I hadn't moved at all. And all the clothes were still on the edge of the bed. And then I'd have to hurry and I'd be like, "Oh my gosh." But I had thought it all up in my head. In my head, I had done the whole process. I had put on the new clothes. I had done everything. But in reality, I had just done nothing.
And I think about this often. And my, see, my brother did that. My brother once, I remember he told me, "I have the best." Because I told him I would do that when I was a little kid. And he was like, "I have, I do even better. I put mine on before I go to bed." I was like, "No, that's not good. You sleep in the clothes you're going to wear the next day." You can't do it like that. But he used to think that was saving time. Like, "No, no, no, no. You can't wear the clothes to bed. Then you've slept in them. That doesn't work. You have to do it first thing in the morning." As though my way was better, anyway.
The point of this is to say, not five, four mornings out of five, I would think about getting dressed. I would even fall asleep thinking I was dressed. And I still needed to get dressed. And if that's not the most accurate representation of what life is as a grown-up, I don't know what is. You imagine doing the laundry. You think about doing the laundry, and then you still need to do the laundry. And you would have had the time to do it three consecutive times by the time it's time to actually do it. You think about what you want for dinner. You think about going to get dinner. You think about making dinner. And then eventually you go do the things. And it's in all of this time that we spend thinking that our life disappears. Because we don't remember. Thought doesn't show up in your memories. Thought doesn't end up in your camera roll. Thought doesn't end up creating a result.
And contemplation that will, because you're contemplating and you're philosophizing, I don't know if that's a word, but you're, you're, you're thinking about things that could make a difference for you. But like, "What should I make for dinner?" And "I wonder when the chicken expires." "I should get up and check the chicken." "When did I buy the chicken?" "Let me think about maybe I don't even have to get up to check the chicken. I could maybe think about when I bought it." "Pretty sure I bought it on T, was it Tuesday or Wednesday?" "Wait, let me look at my phone." "I feel like it was the day that I..." Next thing you've been thinking about, you know what you're going to have for dinner for so long, and you haven't even, you haven't even started doing anything yet.
So why this is so powerful is it's going to make you realize how much of your life is left at the end of a year. And this is both a very powerful thing and also a little bit of a scary thing. But I think those are, these are the most amazing breakthroughs that we can have in our life is when you realize what it will all boil down to and how many memories of things you have in your year. That's your life for 2024. What you remember at the end, when you, what you remember at the Finish Line, that's your life. So how you're going to live 2025, and what you remember on the Finish Line of 2025, that'll be 2025. And in the end, all those years, they, they get a, you have a collection of years, and that becomes your life.
So I have a question for you in this moment, and I want, I want you to take a second to contemplate it. I want you to really ask yourself, "Do you truly feel the feeling of the end and the beginning of a new year, or has it started to blur together where you get the concept, but years just kind of roll into each other?" Now, if you really think about it, it's like, "Do you really feel the shift of a new year?"
"I don't feel the end. It's a blur."
"I do not so much. It's more of a bridge."
"It's a blur."
"I really feel it. I feel the shift."
"They roll together."
"I used to. I don't care about it."
"I do it in January."
"Not really."
"I always used to feel the shift. But with you, it's become more deeper and more meaningful."
"It's a blur."
"It's a blur."
"Some years I do. Some years I don't."
"I make sure the new year has something big waiting, or I feel it will."
"I feel it."
"It's a bridge."
"Not really."
Okay, so what I have found is that if you don't actively, for your own self, find rituals that split the years, life flies. There has to be. And, and what I love so much about this way of contemplating things is that every year kind of feels different. You don't have to do everything the same. I love traditions, but I also love the feeling where you can say, "Oh yeah, I remember this year. I remember that year. That's the year that we stayed in our PJs and didn't do New Year's Eve. Oh yeah, I remember that year. That's the year we did all the red theme for New Year's Eve. Oh, I remember that year. That's the year we went abroad on New Year's Eve. Oh, I remember that year. That's the year that I really sat down and journaled on New Year's Eve. That's the year. Oh, I remember that year. That's the year I did, I was completely sober and completely healthy for New Year's and I did the things. I remember that. Oh, this is, I remember this year. This is the year that my partner and I really made a decision that we were going to make a go at this and and make sure that we made it through another year, but a good year, that we changed our marriage. Oh, I remember that year."
And so when you have a really profound reason for every year that you live, there's more of a beginning, beginning, and an ending. When you do similar things all the time, you do the New Year's resolutions, and then you end the year, and you have a New Year's party because the year starts pretty much the same and it ends pretty much the same. There isn't much of a reason to feel different about every year. When we think of the years that really marked us in our youth, when we grew up, it's because those years were fundamentally different. When you think about, "Gosh, this is the first year that you had a partner." You know, "First boyfriend, first girlfriend, first, you know, that this isn't the first time this has ever happened for me. I'm in love for the first time in the New Year. This is so exciting." Or "I'm graduating." Or "This is the year I'm not going to do it with my family. I want to go out and go out with my friends." Or "I'm allowed to have a drink. It's my first year that I'm allowed to have a drink and toast for New Year's." Or, you know, "This is the first New Year's that I have a baby." Or "This is our first New Year's as a married couple." Or "This is our first New Year's." Like, there are some that really stand out.
But what about the others? How do you really decide how your, how your life goes? You just, you just made it through another year. And it is an honor and a privilege that we are all here at this Finish Line. Not everybody made it to the Finish Line. And when you realize that, really, when you take a second to feel the difficult feelings, sometimes you realize the honor and the magic that is this life. Like, we have another year to roll into. There's another calendar year that's coming, and we get to be a part of it.
What will this year be? How can you even really believe that next year is going to be phenomenal if you don't understand the power of the year that just passed? Every adult wants to say, "This next year is my year." But how can you profoundly believe that unless you've given yourself everything you could the year before? What's going to change? What's going to be different about this year? Like, what's going to be the difference that makes this next year amazing?
So the best thing you can do for yourself, and why this bridge, this trampoline, this energy field is so important, is that when you pull all the best from 2024 and you see it right there, front and center, every meaningful thing you did for yourself, the self-care, the, the beautiful meaningful friendship moments, the business moves, the celebrations, everything that's good that you did that you remember, every trip, every, everything that you did that was meaningful, and you look at it all, it's going to feel even more exciting to do 2025. It's going to feel more possible. It's going to feel more exciting. It's going to feel like, "Gosh, I didn't even realize. Now I realize I really want to." It's going to give you that, that catapult.
So just on the forefront of your mind, just after this conversation, what are some of the things that you think about in this past year where you're like, "Gosh, this was beautiful. I am so happy I lived that. I can't believe I did that."
"2024 is the year that I, my first full year of being a mum and feeling, let me see, and feeling like missing so much. I haven't done so much as if time stood still, even though I had so many beautiful memories with my little son. So it's about looking, what are all the things that did happen? Because there's going to be time for the rest. But we want to really look at what was spectacular about this first full year about being a mom."

So here's the thing. At the end of the year, there's going to be tons of things or a few things, but they are going to be what the year was. That's how it's going to happen. So I want to remind you of this because this is such a big piece for me. Your year of 2025 doesn't need to be perfect. But if you are intentional, we are going to create the kind of year that when we do the Finish Line again next year, you're going to get to say, "This was 20, this is what 2025 was for me," and it's going to take your breath away.
But the best time to do something extraordinary is on the back end of a masterpiece. So many of us want to scrap the last year to then build something beautiful instead in the next year. It's not the best way to do it. The best time to do something extraordinary is on the back end of a masterpiece. So your job right now is to remember 2024 as a masterpiece. There will be time for what didn't work and what we, what we learned. Don't worry, I've got processes for all of that. But before we do that, you've got to extract the gold.
I want you to give yourself the kind of credit you have maybe never given yourself at the end of a year. I want you to pull out all your best memories, your best selfies, or you're like, "Gosh, I looked good that day." The best moments with your partner, the best relationship moments, the highlights with your kids. Like, if you could base your entire life as a parent based on those few memories, you'd give yourself an award. Your best moments, your best most disciplined moments, the, the phases of the year where you were really good with yourself, self-care things you did for yourself that were really good. You're going to extract all the good stuff, all of it, until you feel so good about 2024, no one can say anything to make you think anything else than that this year was a masterpiece.
And this is such an important piece of the process because we cannot make things better if we don't acknowledge that they're great. If not, we make things good, or we try to make them good because it's like, "Uh, gosh, this was a really hard year. So next year I've got to make it good." Instead of, "This was such a great year, and here are the tweaks I want to make next year." That's how we really create the magic of a year. And we don't take the time enough to pat ourselves on the back. As a matter of fact, one of the hardest things for us as grown-up people who overthink is that whenever we do something good, if we're not able to do it again, we discredit the first time we did it.
So if you, for example, hit a milestone, so you hit a $10,000 month in your business, and then the next month you didn't hit, you didn't hit six figures, or you didn't hit $10,000, or you didn't do, then it's as if you discredit the one before. "Oh, that was a fluke. Now it doesn't count anymore." In this process, you're going to say, "I hit a $10,000 month in March, even if it was the only one of the year. Doesn't matter. This year you had a $10,000 a month." If you dated someone and it was awesome, but it ended, it might be your style to say, "Well, it doesn't count because it didn't, we didn't end up together." Instead of saying, "Gosh, that was an incredible love affair."
And how different is your year when you say, "I had a 10K month once, but I was never able to duplicate it. I broke, I broke up with somebody." Instead of, "I had a 10K month, the greatest love affair." Like, how do we think about what we lived? How do we actually extract the real beauty? You know, even like you had this huge conversation with one of your parents and you cleared the air and it was all great, but then it got weird again. Had a really brave conversation and shifted things with my mom. It still happened. Life changes. It's not one of those things where you permanently fix or permanently have. It's not, that's not what defines your identity or even your, your confidence. What defines it in the long term is the memory that you've done it before. If I could do it once, I could do it again. If it could happen, it could happen again.
You know, maybe you had one a month or a few weeks of really powerful intimacy with your partner, but then it fell off again and it feels like it's back to square one. But you had this powerful phase of intimacy, and it's there, and you remember it. "Celebrate passion with my partner for all of the month of June." Whatever it is. You know, if you were pregnant, but it, the pregnancy didn't go through, instead of only remembering the pain and the loss, you say, "The feeling of having been pregnant for X amount of months. You keep that in your life. That happened for real. That was yours."
There's someone in your life you love that's no longer there right now. They haven't made it through the Finish Line of this year. But there are memories together at the beginning of this year. Even if it's just a phone call, even if it's just to say, "I'm so grateful in this year I had that final moment. I had those moments. I, that meaningful conversation or that just that easygoing day." Or whatever it is that you can put down and say, "I spent time with this person," or "I made this matter." If you can extract the good, you're going to.
See your life look so different. You're going to see the year look so different, and what happens is it begins to be a little more light-hearted. I have got so many incredible memories in this year, and some of them are dualistic memories. It means that in the middle of the best thing, the worst thing happened. In the middle of the most extraordinary memory, something really sad happened. And a lot of times, we let sadness ruin our joy. How can I ever possibly celebrate that when I know what happened after? So I discredit the whole thing instead of I remember the beauty and and I accept the pain that also came with it. We don't throw everything out. We keep the good stuff.
Now, there's two ways to do this. You can do it almost like a checklist, or you can do it almost like a story, depending on how your brain works best. So if you're going to be doing the hindsight board, you're going to see a lot of your good stuff is going to show up on the hindsight board. So it would be very easy for you to just write a checklist and to say, "Look, here's the list of all the incredible things I lived in 2024, and this is what I want to remember this year for." But if you really wanted to go deep into your feelings, you could choose some of your most meaningful things where you remember the memories exactly, and you could recall the stories and write them out for yourself and journal about them and give them maybe some of the time and and energy that you didn't give them in the moment because too much was happening and you didn't really have the time to sit and write about them. Journal in hindsight what 2024 was for you. If you can do this for yourself, it's the greatest gift.
And I I will say, we want this from people in our lives. We want people to remember only the good with us. We hope that if there's ever an argument, that they're able to sweep that away in their memory, that that's not what they remember us for. They we hope that if we we ever make a mistake, that that's not what they remember us for. We hope that if there's ever a mix-up, that that's not what they remember. Yet when it's us, we don't give ourselves that same grace. We tend to remember the year for the mistakes or the breakdowns or the things we have a hard time forgiving ourselves for. And when asked the majority of people at the end of a year, say, "You know, how do you feel about the end of the year?" Most people say, "I'm glad it's over, and I'm excited for a fresh start." And I would love for most people not to say that. I would love for people to say, "I'm so grateful for what I've learned. I'm so grateful for who I've become and the memories I've made, and I'm excited to start a new year." But that's not what most people say. Like, "Gosh, I'm just, this was a really tough year. I'm glad it's over, and I just want to wipe it all." And I don't I don't know how wise it's possible to become doing that. I don't know if it's possible to really grow as big as we can if we do it that way.
So this Finish Line is a gift to you. It's a relationship gift to you where you say, "This is your year, 2024, and let me remember it for you the way you would have wanted me to." Because when we're old and gray and we're 100 years old, we're going to want to remember 2024 for what it was and what it taught us. And we get to decide what we remember, and that's what this process is going to do for you. And if you want to sit and do this with your partner and ask, without saying the things we need to figure out and learn, without talking about the mistakes, because there will be time for that, "What are we most proud of? What were your favorite moments?" You can ask your kids, "What were your highlights of this year?" Sometimes that just that is such a beautiful gift is to hear what other people also lived this year. "What were your favorite moments with me this year? What are your favorite things that you loved about this year?" You may have forgotten a few. And if you realize in the process that you didn't do enough and you wish there was more, also don't beat yourself up, because there will be time for us to do that. 2025 is around the corner, and it is it will be the time to do a brand new year. Or you might realize there's some there's some space before the end of the year to make a memory. There's still time. There's still time.
So what I love about this Finish Line program is it allows you to touch joy and sadness at the same time. It allows you to feel excited and grateful at the same time. It allows you to feel more connected to your life and also take a step back at the same time, and that you value yourself more, the people around you more, and the life you just lived more. When we do Resolution Revolution, we'll be building 2025. It's it's going to be a totally different energy. What about 2024? If we don't take that time, that window in time to extract all the gold, all the gold, and hold it and feel it, then what's the point of building another year just to get to the end and jump into 2026? I want you to feel all of your life. I want you to feel every year like you did everything you could. And here's what the best was, and here's what we learned, and then here's how we get into another year. And that's what this process is going to do for you.
So you're feel free to share with us, share stories with us if you want to write, write them out as far as you want in the group. Like, share with us your stories. Or if you just want to write a checklist, do that. If you want to post your vision board, your hindsight vision board, share that. If you have breakthroughs, share that. This is a beautiful time for contemplation in the Alpha FM brand. I invite you guys to contemplate a lot, which is different from thinking, because thinking is just thinking. Contemplating is an art. It's a it's a gift you give back to yourself. It's taking conscious time to rebuild, reframe, reenact the power of your life to give yourself guidance and vision and trajectory into the future. And that's really what we want. It's not just about building another masterpiece. 2025, got to build a good year. It's got to be a good year. It's got to be a good year. It's like we build good years on the back end of masterpieces, and it can't be a masterpiece if it isn't complete. And this is the process to complete it. It's how you wrap a bow. No matter what your feelings are, there's room for all of them. But see if you can, even if sadness is getting in the picture, see if you can trust yourself that I have a process for you for that as well. And let joy take up all the space for now. Know there'll be space for whatever other feelings you're feeling, but focus on the laughter, the joy, the love, the romance, the bliss, the excitement, the butterflies, the celebrations, the high fives, all of those moments. Enjoy doing this. It's a gift to you. You did so great this year. You deserve to remember all of those bits. Let them compound in your mind and your heart and your spirit. Build yourself as big as big as big as you possibly can in your mind and your heart, in your energy and your frequency, because everything else we do will land deeper if you are in your bigness and in your most powerful self. And that's how you deserve to feel after a year well-lived. You did a lot this year. So gather it all. See it in the most beautiful light. I look forward to doing this process with you. And tomorrow, we will be doing part two of this incredible process. Thank you for being with me. I hope you've had a beautiful session, and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
