They almost killed another journalist, a journalist we know, uh, Steve Sweeney, today in Lebanon.
Well, Steve Sweeney is a friend of mine. He's a legend, someone I really look up to. He's got, uh, he's very courageous to go out in the field, especially in South Lebanon, where Israel is attempting to ethnically cleanse a million people and push them north of the Latani River and saying, "You will never be able to come home again. Greater Israel will expand." And Steve Sween Sweeny's on the front lines. And here's what happened. Apparently, uh, you know, he was on Netanyahu's punch card.
Further rocket attacks were reported against Naharia and a minute. [ __ ] hell. [sighs] [ __ ] Wait, where wait where where he survived treated with treated for shrapnel wounds, but he he's okay and his crew is okay, but a few feet away and they would have been dead. And when he went back on the air shortly afterwards, he said this was a deliberate attack.
Deliberate attempt to silence him.
Yes. As he's very outspoken also as an anti-war activist uh campaigning against the mass killing of these kinds of campaigns. Uh it looks very clear to he was targeted by with a a a USGBU bomb as have so many journalists most of them Palestinian but Lebanese as well uh before him uh who you know Israel and Gaza killed like the death toll of journalists killed by Israel and Gaza is at least over 220. It's probably more by now. And Lebanon there's also a long list as well. Israel the other day just killed uh a editor with Almanar TV which is Hezbollah's television network. Killed him.
Top editor.
The top editor.
Top editor. Killed him uh along with members of his family. Some of whom uh survived but were but were seriously wounded. So this is what Israel does.
Yeah. They've killed the majority of journalists in the world over the past three years. And the outcry from Western media has been let's just say muted. and how many networks are going with Steve Sweeny's this incredible video which perfectly illustrates how Israel targets journalists, including Western journalists who are not just the Palestinian unpeople of Gaza who can be all condemned as Hamas. They're they're basically saying nothing. There's a BBC headline uh up right now that's just absurd. Where is it? Here it is. They're basically whitewashing a deliberate Israeli targeted assassination of a prominent veteran war journalist.
Watch. Missile lands next to presenter during live report from Lebanon.
It happens. You know, sometimes missiles just happen to fall out of the sky uh by accident. We don't know who fired it uh whose missile it is. It's just an accident. It just it just fell down like a like something falling off the shelf. That's the ABC. This is uh Richard Angel of NBC News. Look at how he describes it. Um a reporter for Russian Today in South Lebanon. Danger very close.
Danger very close.
What does that even mean? And of course he of course he has to start with the fact that he's a reporter for Russian today. For Russia today that
Yeah. his life doesn't matter as much.
Yeah. Exactly. The angle really has to stress. The guy works for Russia today. So therefore, you know, what we're about to see is is more acceptable. A USmade bomb dropping on him because he's reporter for Russian today. Danger very close. I mean, like what a It's like he barely That's putting no effort in trying to water down an attempted murder. Danger. Very close. Great job, Richard Angle. Like you're a journalist and that's the best best you can come up with. Danger, very close. [laughter] It's like the title of his memoir.
Yeah. Yeah.
