No, actually a couple people found a workaround so they could keep up a version of the code.

It's called a clean room rewrite. Basically, one AI looks at the source code and writes a design doc that describes everything that's in it, and then [music] the second AI only looks at the design doc and rewrites the code base from scratch.
How does that make it okay? [music]
Well, the second AI never saw the source code, so technically it's not copyrightable.
And that's technically legal?
