Today, the crisis in the Middle East, which originated from the United States starting a war, has resulted in the highest defense budget expenditure since World War II. This may lead to the U.S. public debt increasing further, reaching trillions of U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, Elon Musk has warned that the U.S. has a greater than 1,000% chance of bankruptcy. The solution, he suggests, is to increase productivity and revolutionize industries with AI, including Tesla's Human-like robots.

Yahoo Finance, citing Money Wise, reported that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has warned that the U.S. is heading towards bankruptcy due to continuously rising public debt. He stated that AI and robots are the only way for the U.S. to escape this crisis, indicating that without a technological productivity revolution, the U.S. will not be able to solve its massive debt problem.

Elon Musk said during an interview on the P-cast program in February that the U.S. has a 1,000% chance of bankruptcy and failure if there is no AI and robots, as there is no other solution that can help the U.S. at this time. Data from the U.S. Treasury Department indicates that the country's current public debt exceeds $39.66 trillion and continues to rise. In the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, the U.S. government's budget deficit was over $1.3737 trillion U.S. dollars.

Elon Musk has warned that this worrying situation is not just about the increasing debt. If we look at the interest costs that the U.S. government has to pay each year, the interest on U.S. public debt exceeds $1 trillion U.S. dollars annually, which is higher than the defense budget.

The article states that the U.S. debt burden may increase further if military spending does not stop. The Department of Defense has revealed that over $37 billion U.S. dollars has already been spent on the Middle East war, and this figure is continuously increasing. Earlier, Dr. Linda Bilmes, a public policy expert from Harvard University, stated that the total cost of this war is likely to exceed $1 trillion U.S. dollars, including the interest burden from government borrowing. This cost will be passed on as a burden to future generations.

Meanwhile, the U.S. leader's budget plan for fiscal year 2027 represents the largest increase in the defense budget since the end of World War II and will result in the U.S. public debt increasing by trillions of U.S. dollars.
