Wonderful team I have around me. Unlike one might say for Harry and Megan, who yet again seem to have axed their entire staff body.
That's right. Nothing says that you're impossible to work for—a bit of a ball, a lake, and an axe grinder—than constantly cycling through various members of staff like hot dinners. Well, that's exactly what has happened. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have given their communications team the boot, blaming them for a series of recent PR humiliations. They've instead decided to go with the firm behind that controversial twerking video. Did you see it? Do you want to see it? Do you want to be reminded of it? Do we even have it in our storage? I don't know if we've got any sense; we won't. No. Techop Dave's like, "No, of course we don't keep stuff like that. I bet it's there somewhere." But it was just—it was just really pathetic. You know, I was like, what is going on?
I get the impression that all of the things they've tried to do seriously—and I put "seriously" inside dits—such as, I don't know, launch a Grenfell cookbook, make a podcast, have a series on Netflix, set up a charity—none of that stuff has worked. They've been damn hopeless at everything. So, it seems to me they're resorting to becoming basically a version of the Royal Kardashians. We can't wait for it.
Let's speak now to Kinsey Scoffield, host of Kinsey Scoffield Unfiltered. Kins, how are you doing, my darling?
I'm so excited. I'm getting ready to go stand in the trooping line and to see the—the big parade. I'm at the muse right now watching the carriages get ready. Um, I'm here. I'm—I'm excited about your country. Unfortunately, Harry and Megan are not. How rude. How rude. Don't you look so cute, Kim? It's amazing. I remember my mate Belinda and I went to actually watch the coronation. We camped on the mal for 3 days. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
So talk to me, what is going on with Harry and Megan and yet another change of the guard? Who—who have they fallen out with this time, and why?
Well, you know, this is after we were informed that they were hiring this team of 11, and that they were going to try to—um—almost have their own little royal court and craft things differently. I mean, ultimately, it—it does seem like they're trying to compete with the British royal family, which is—it's just absolutely impossible to do from Monacetto, from Hollywood, at all. I mean, this is a thousand-year-old institution that has done this, and they've learned so many lessons, and Harry and Megan continue to not—I mean, there's no real justification for the termination, but I know that, you know, at this point in time, we're at—we—we've hit like 20 people that they've blown through since they've moved to California. And how negative, I mean, how like toxic must this workplace be to burn through so many people and accomplish so little? I mean, what can you and I—we can't toss around anything that's actually been completed? I mean, uh, "Confessions of a Female Founder." Okay. Yeah. What's gone on with that thing? Is that thing still being made, or only made about two episodes? Cuz the previous one she did, what was it called? Like, the archetypes. Oh, that—I mean, they're basically the same thing, aren't they? But one lot had famous guests, whereas now no one likes her, so they have to have unfamous guests.
Yeah, exactly. Well, we haven't heard about a season two coming to fruition, which is so interesting because they've wrapped season one. And remember, be like within hours after season one of Megan's Netflix series, she was announcing a season two of that show. So, I wonder if Lemonatada has realized that the return on investment just isn't there. Also, I don't think Megan likes interviewing people. I think she'd prefer to talk about herself.
Ah, you can say that again. What about the season two of that—wo bigotton cookery program—which was basically Megan just taking things out of packets and putting them into different packets and tying ribbons around it and pretending she was some sort of Grace Kelly of the hospitality world. I mean, are they genuinely making a second series? Cuz I thought the viewing figures were so blooming low they didn't even bother advertising it on Netflix. They just hid it down the menu.
Well, you're right. It—it dropped within like 48 hours. It was off the top 10. And based on our jobs, there were so many people that were actually assigned to watch it that I wouldn't be surprised if the top 10—it made the top 10 just because of people like us having to watch it to discuss it. Uh, hey, season two was shot along with season one. So, she was always going to get a quote-unquote season two because they shot them back-to-back. There's no big celebratory, "I'm so successful, I secured a season two." Netflix was just like, "You know what? Let's save a buck and create a couple of more—more of these while we've rented this foreign house that's not Megan Markle and she's in the kitchen. Let's just kill two birds with one stone." So, uh, it's already been shot. It exists. It will be released in the fall. But the victory lap she took about its success was, you know, classic Megan—as inauthentic as she is.
Now, let's talk about something that is authentic, quintessentially British, and that is Trooping of the Colour. Great to see you going today. What are you looking forward to the most?
Okay. I mean, I would be lying if I said that my favorite part is not Prince Louie. What a legend. I—I can't wait to see—He'll be scolded by his big sister. Um, you know, he'll be making silly faces. He's just absolutely—he's so free-spirited, and he, you know, it's completely opposite to everything that Megan and Harry try to talk—tell us that the monarchy is about. You know, Harry will say, "Oh, they're in a prison. Oh, they're in—it must be so—they're so miserable. They're in this—this prison." And you just see how free-spirited, happy, sweet, and happy-go-lucky um Prince Louie is. And you get the sense that—that, you know, that's not the truth. So, Prince Louie, um, I love seeing Katherine, the Princess of Wales. It was a year ago that we saw her for the first time after her cancer diagnosis. So, to see her happy and healthy is obviously a thrill. And, you know, we've got to acknowledge th—that how wonderful it is to see the king continue to get up, never complain, never explain. This is a man going through cancer treatment, and we—we're seeing him almost every day. I mean, God bless him.
Yeah, he is do. He's showing great fortitude. Kinsey, it's always wonderful. Um, you're in the country. Let's go for a cocktail. And I mean that. I'm going to be messaging you after this because I love you to bits. And whatever advice you hear from anyone about surviving the wild streets of London, just don't have your mobile phone out on display. You will be mugged. Okay? Just warning you—when you take those photos, get it back in the handbag, strap around both shoulders because this is a lawless London we live in now. The wonderful Kinsey Scoffield. Thank you ever so much.
