Three things to do when you install Obsidian.
Avoid broken links. Open settings. Go to file and links and turn on automatically update internal links. Without this setting, renaming your notes will break any links to that note, leaving you with a bunch of broken connections.
Keep your sidebar clean. Scroll down that same page and change the default folder for attachments to a new folder just for your attachments. This avoids cluttering your sidebar whenever you add images or other documents to a note.
Change your theme. While you're messing with settings, I recommend changing your theme so you know how to do it. Click appearance. Click manage under themes. Select Anapuchin. A nu p. There it is. This is a very popular theme which acts as a base for the soft paper theme which I recommend for obsidian. Check out the related video next for the full details on installing soft paper so that you can end up here navigating Obsidian with all that soft papery goodness.
