All right. So, welcome Jadi as she reads. We're doing just the first 38 verses because it's quite long and we are doing John chapter 8. But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Now early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him, and he sat down and thought to them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery in the very act." Now Moses in the law commanded us that s such should be stoned. But what do you say? This they said, testing him that they might have something of which to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger as though he did not hear. So when they continued asking him, he raised himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." And again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised himself up and saw no one but the woman, he said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said to him, you bear witness of yourself. Your witness is not true. Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I bear witness of myself, my witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I come from and where I am going. You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one. And yet if I do judge, my judgment is true. For I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me." It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. I one who bear witness of myself and the father who sent me bears witness of me. Then they said to him, where is your father? Jesus answered, "You neither you know neither me nor my father. If you had known me, you would have known my father also." These words Jesus spoke in the treasury as he thought in the temple, and no one laid hands on him, for his hour had not yet come. Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away and you will seek me and will die in your sins. Where I go, you cannot come." So the Jews said, "Will he kill himself?" Because he says, "Where I go, you cannot come." And he said to them, "You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world. Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe what that I am, he you will die in your sins. Then they said to him, "Who are you?" And Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but he will send me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I heard from him." They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father. Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing of myself. But as my Father taught me, I speak these things, and he who sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, for I always do those things that please him." As he spoke these words, many believed in him. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have not and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say you will be made free?" Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin, but a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore, if the son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill me because my word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with my father and you do what you have seen with your father. May the Lord bless the reading and the hearing of his word. Amen.
Time will fail me to talk on every talk point in this chapter. So we just talk about one of the most famous stories in the entire earthly ministry of Jesus's ministry. And that is that woman that was brought to him. And I want to I want you to just consider something. What do you think that the Pharisees were driving at? The Bible says they were trying to test him. So what then was the test? What was the difficulty? The reason I'm trying to establish this pattern is so that you will see that it's the same thing that happens even today. The difficulty will be this. When you bring somebody who was caught in the wrong and you ask for capital punishment, now you are caught in between two dilemma. The first is this is either you are seen as being too strict or you are seen as being too lenient. So they wanted to find a way to box Jesus in either of of those two extremes. And I can tell you one thing for a fact. Even today, many sincere people find themselves struggling with the balance of lentiousness, lasciviousness, or being too rigid, not giving people the space, the bandwidth to grow, the grace to grow. Come on. I I don't know if you get what I'm saying. More often than not, it's very difficult to find the the dividing line. It's very easy to fall into either extreme. Grace at the expense of truth or truth at the expense of grace. And so, here are some things to pay attention to. Like I said, the Pharisees, they brought that woman to Jesus because they know that it is possible to hide under the legitimacy of the truth to punish people who also should have been given grace. Are you getting what I'm saying? Meaning, listen, if Jesus said, "Yeah, stone her under the law, he did nothing wrong." But why destroy when there's an opportunity to transform? That should always be the question. That should always be the question. Question two, if I have the tendency, the proclivity to seek destruction, am I as aware of the grace I'm enjoying in my own life? So this is where Jesus was coming from. And so he said, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." And thank God the people there were honest enough. some hypocritical people in 2026 would have still stoned her >> because it is statistically proven many cases in church history, recent church history that sometimes what we are most judgmental about is reflective of what we are struggling with with secretly. Please, this does not mean that anyone who is firm on instructions is struggling. I'm just saying we have the tendency to compensate for the guilt we feel secretly for the things that we do by being extra hard on others. And anybody h who follows the truth of Jesus and enjoys the grace of Jesus is aware of his own shortcomings. And I'm not talking about any extreme vice. I'm not trying to say that every Christian has something that they are doing. It ought not to be. So that's another false teaching and narrative. I believe that it is possible 100%. Not only is it possible is expected that we walk before the Lord in all uprightness. I'm saying blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. You see we we act stricter than Jesus many times. Think about that. So the people who are coming to demand from Jesus the law, do they know the law better than him? Are they more passionate about righteousness than he is? And that was why he um what's the word now? Stooped down to write on the sand as a prophetic reminder. You know historically that place was actually paved with stone. So he was literally writing on the stone as a prophetic reminder. This law you're talking about it was my finger that wrote it.
>> It was my finger that wrote it. And the reason I wrote it is because I know, listen, don't forget when Ezekiel now prophesies Ezekiel 36:26, he says, "I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh. I give you a heart of flesh." He said, "I will give you a new law, not according to the law that I gave your fathers which they could not keep and they consistently broke. This is the law. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will write my law in your inward parts." So it means that the tablet of stone was a metaphor of the condition of man's heart.
>> And that's why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3 that we are able ministers of the New Testament. In fact, he said, "You are our epistles, not written on tablets of stone, but in the fleshly tables of your heart." Meaning the law was revealed to show the justice of God in spite of men's frailties and shortcomings and was also supposed to show them that at the end of the day with all their righteousness they still needed a savior. The message of the law is this amongst many things that even your best righteousness is at a frag. There is one who can look at you and say say two things and this is where many people make the the mistake. They stick to one of the extremes. All right? And that's why the argument will never sin s you number one. Go and sin no more. Number two both must go simultaneously. the gift of no condemnation and then the requirement, the empowerment to go and sin no more. So I put it this way in my notes. Grace does not deny sin and truth does not deny grace.
>> Grace does not deny sin and truth does not deny grace. So you are not preaching grace when you give the impression that there shouldn't be any god reliant efforts to pull the plugs on whatever represent an inconsistency in our lives. But at the same time truth does not deny grace. When you want to obey God, there must still be the consciousness of grace that I am what I am by the grace of God. Though that grace that was bestowed on me was not in vain. I labored more abundantly. I put structures in my life that can make sure that I am not living a life that is inconsistent with with the provisions of God's grace. Both must go hand in hand. But see the Bible says, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." The provision of grace is this. You enjoy it for as long as you are able to appreciate that same divine operation in the life of others. If you for if you refuse to forgive others, your sins will not be forgiven. And if you refuse to extend grace, blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. This is important. I think this thing even gives an inro to the enemy. You know, I think it was one of my senior pastor friends, a prophet who told this story. I can't remember what it was, but a family was going through something and it was very hard on them, teaching them, you know, the word and reprimanding them and all of that and talking about it and talking to people. Make no mistake by his own admission, he did it in a way that he now in retrospect considers to be a little excessive. And I'm not making this a yard stick for everybody. I'm just telling you his real life experience. I don't want to I don't have his permission to mention his name. He said in the night a demon came to him and was trying to attack him and he said no you can't attack me something something something and the demon said I'm the demon of so and so I'm I'm trying not to mention because I can't remember the exact vice but long story short it was the very same thing that he was unforgiving about
>> that now gave an inroad. You see when in church history you see somebody castigating constantly running down on others then you're not here.
>> And I don't want to give I mean you you I mean if you have been if you've been in church long enough you know what I'm saying. When you now see the same thing that's a warning right there. And so to enjoy the grace that God freely gives recognize h it takes humility. I'm walking in consecration but I'm not without sin. I am not with before a thrice holy God. I'm not saying there are some vices in my life but I before a thrice holy God I will never be enough by my effort. We all need this grace. And as we are enjoying that grace to see no more, it now touches us in a way that we're able to show compassion, show grace. This is not what other people now do where you just see somebody and leave them in their contradiction constantly. No, that's not what I'm saying. I am saying it is possible to teach the truth in love
>> and give people the permission, the allowance to grow. It is possible. Absolutely. Not only is it possible, that is how we should go about our Christianity. not to create echo chambers for ourselves and make church only about people who maybe grew up the way Paul grew up born to a phariseical family and all of that. What patience do we have for people who don't have our exposure and who need time? Does God have to drive us away to convert some people just the way he did in John 4? That's the question. That's the question. Can people experience God for the first time in our fellowship? Are we trying to transform people or we're about to save our face and keep our PR? So the simple yard stick is this. When a believer sins, what do we do? Okay, you've corrected. There's church discipline. Well, what next? What next? Okay, there's a child out of world lock. They're sorry, the child is not going. The child is there. What next? Do we really know how to transform or do we only know how to state what is wrong? That is the question. That is the question. So, we're going to do very simple things. You see, you don't realize how much you need this because I can tell you one thing for sure. Even at the times where you at your best, you're fasting more and you're praying more and all of that. If you don't learn to rely on grace, the devil will use that to torment you even more. Have you ever prayed so long hours and the devil lie to you? You have not prayed enough.
>> You know it's possible. So there must be that cooperation both of your responsibility and the grace of God. The grace of God being the foundation and not the other way around. Ah I want to give you few minutes to acknowledge the Lord. Lord I work hard but it's your grace. I pray, I fast, I try to discipline myself, but it's your grace.
>> I study, but it's your grace.
>> Paul said, "I am who I am. I am what I am by the grace of God. I was responsible with that grace. The grace that was bestowed on me was not in vain. I labored more abundantly. Yet not I. I'm not better than anyone. It's your grace.
>> It's your grace. How did you preserve me this long? It's your grace. It's your grace. It's your grace. Thank him. Thank him. His grace in salvation and his practical grace, his pragmatic grace
>> for that career that is working
>> for that job that you have, the children that you have, the marriage that you have. Thank him for HIS GRACE FOR THAT MINISTRY. Thank him for his grace.
>> Thank you Jesus. I just want to say praise him. Praise him that I really love you. Thank him. Thank him. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace.
>> IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME we've prayed.
I can't tell you how important this is. Some trust in horses, others in chariots, but I remember the name of the Lord.
>> I remember the name of the Lord. You see, let me tell you something. When Jesus teaches you to pray, lead me not into temptation. See, don't let heaven test your limits. Don't let heaven test your limits. If you are standing, attribute it to him. Don't be so sure that if you had the same context that as the people you are condemning, you would have done it any different. Chances are, I mean, make no mistake, some people are very silly. Make no mistake, that's a fact. but at the same time attribute it to his grace. I give you a few more seconds. If I'm standing, it's because of you. If I'm strong, it's because of you. I'm grateful. I'm grateful. I'm grateful. I'm grateful. I'm grateful. I acknowledge you for your grace on my life. your hand of my life. It's you.
>> I know it's you. I know with you. We are the circumcision. WHO SERVE GOD BY HIS spirit and boast in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh. Thank him for his grace. say that I I really love you.
>> Thank him. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace. Thank him for his grace.
>> In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
>> Amen.
Lord, the same grace you have extended towards me, help me to extend towards others.
>> You had the chance to destroy me
>> for my own shortcomings
>> because people didn't know about my own. Don't let me just be committed to destroying others whose own are public. Father, I extend grace. I extend grace. I forgive as you forgive me. I forgive. I forgive. I forgive. I forgive. If you feel led, mention the names of the people you need to forgive. Maybe this is timely for you. I forgive. I forgive. I forgive. You forgive me of greater. It's a small thing to forgive this person. I forgive. I forgive. I forgive. I forgive. As you did not keep my scores, I refuse to keep scores. Glory is the lamb. Thank you father. I forgive. I forgive. Thank you father in Jesus mighty name.
You're going to pray this very simple. I when the Lord says go and sin no more, that's not good advice. That's empowerment.
>> That's empowerment. When he said, "Let he that stole steal no more." That's empowerment. In the place of devotion, you receive strength. You receive strength. strength to put off to cut off the inconsistencies in your life. I my God to come out from amongst them. You who bear the vessels of the Lord. How can I keep that kind of fellow fellowship? How can I keep that kind of communication to come out from amongst them to sever the ties block the contacts to move on in divine righteousness by the empowerment of God. I we are lively stones. We are animated to do his will because he leads us in the path of righteousness for his name's sake. I give you few minutes to declare it. I'm I'm an animated in your will. animated in your will. NOT ONLY DO YOU NOT CONDEMN ME, YOU HAVE EMPOWERED ME. He says there is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. But he didn't stop there. He says, "The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Thank you father. Glory to your mighty marvelous name. Glory to your mighty matchless name.
>> In Jesus mighty name we've prayed.
>> Thank you Jesus.
You know, there's a part of this text we almost never mention. The fact that because these Pharisees were seeking to condemn the woman, they brought her to Christ. that people in their attempts to destroy you
>> will push you closer to Christ.
>> The gang up against you is to push you to encounter Christ in a new way, to encounter his grace in a new way. If they didn't hate you so much, you would not have come to the depth of intimacy that you now have. Yes.
>> If you if it didn't become so apparent that there is nobody on your side, you wouldn't have looked to God for help.
>> Sometimes all the vitriolic reaction, all the hatred is only serving to take you to the place of grace so that he can look and say, "Where are your accusers?" And when not one of them is left, he will say, "Neither do I accuse you. Go and sin no more." I'm telling you, all things work together for good. To them that love God, to them who are the God according to his purpose. I said the hatred, the gang up, everything is leading you to Christ. I want to give you few seconds to prophesy. It's turning out for good. It's working out for my good. is working out for my good. For we know that all things work together to them that love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Stand up and declare this. He's working for my good. He's working for my good. It's working for my good. It's working for my good. Working for my good. Whatever failed, it was so that better can come. Whatever did not work, it was so that something superior can emerge. It is working for my good. It's working for my good. Working for my good. Working for my good. Working for my good. It's working for my good. in Jesus mighty name of prayer. I said it's working for your good.
>> The gang up is leading to your promotion.
>> Hey, the set back is a setup for your next level
>> in the name of Jesus.
>> And every gang up to bring you down will only draw you closer to God. Amen.
>> You will emerge with a new depth and audacity.
>> I your scars will be the birth of a new ministry
>> in the mighty name of Jesus.
>> I pray for everyone struggling with the vice. May you experience the grace of the deliverer.
>> The one who teaches you to say no has taught you today.
>> Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus.
>> Amen.
>> And that grace that you have enjoyed, you will extend it.
>> Amen.
>> You will extend it.
