Welcome. If you came to this prayer at the ideal time, it is somewhere between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning and you are awake. The house is quiet. The people you love are sleeping. They're breathing slow and even in the rooms around you. The street outside is still. And here you are awake when most of the world is not.
My friend, I want you to know something before we begin. You are not awake by accident. You have been drawn into one of the most sacred hours God has ever set apart for his people. This is the morning watch. And tonight you are the watchmen.
There is an ancient rhythm to the night that most people have forgotten. In the days of the Bible, the hours of darkness were divided into watches. Men would stand at their posts on the city walls and they would keep guard while everyone else slept. The first watch, the second watch, the third watch, the fourth watch. Each watchman had one job. To stay awake, to stay alert, to see what was coming before it arrived, and to sound the alarm so that the sleeping could be saved.
And when the Bible speaks of crying out to God in the night, it speaks of these very hours. The book of Lamentations says, "Arise, cry out in the night at the beginning of the watches. Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward him for the life of your young children. Pour out your heart like water. For the life of your young children." That is what this hour is for.
Why does 3 in the morning matter? Why five? My friend, it is not superstition and it is not a trick. It is a pattern God himself has woven through the whole of scripture. Consider the Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Mark tells us, "Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, he went out and departed to a solitary place. And there he prayed." A long while before daylight, before the demands came, before the crowds gathered, before the noise of the world could reach him, the Son of God was already awake, already on his knees, already in the presence of his father.
If the Lord of glory needed the morning watch, how much more do you and I? He did not pray early because he had nothing else to do. He prayed early because he understood that the hours before dawn belong to God in a way the rest of the day does not.
And it was not only how Jesus prayed. It was how he came to the rescue. Do you remember the night the disciples were caught in the storm on the sea? The wind was against them. The waves were high. They had been straining at the oars for hours. And they were exhausted and afraid. And the Bible tells us, "Now in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them walking on the sea." The fourth watch, that is roughly 3 to 6 in the morning, my friend. The very hour you are sitting in right now, when the night had done its worst, when their strength was gone, when the darkness felt like it would never break, that is exactly when the Lord came walking toward them across the water. He did not come at the start of the storm. He came in the fourth watch.
So if you are sitting here tonight in your own kind of storm, I want you to hear this. You are awake in the hour when Jesus comes walking.
The morning watch is also the hour of the watchman. And the watchman is the heartbeat of this entire prayer. Listen to what God says through the prophet Isaiah. "I have set watchmen on your walls, oh Jerusalem. They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent." Watchmen on the walls, set there by God himself, and their assignment is to never hold their peace, to keep not silence, to make mention of the Lord through the night.
My friend, when you woke up tonight, God set you on a wall. The wall around your home, the wall around your marriage, the wall around your children, the wall around your family line. And the instruction is the same as it was for Isaiah's watchmen. Keep not silence. Do not waste this hour. Do not lie there scrolling and worrying. Stand up on the wall where God has placed you and keep watch.
The prophet Ezekiel takes it even further, and his words are heavy, but they are words of love. "So you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Therefore, you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them for me." God told Ezekiel that the watchman who sees danger coming and stays silent carries the weight of what follows. But the watchman who sounds the trumpet has delivered his soul, my friend. I do not say that to frighten you. I say it to honor you. Because what it means is that your prayers in this hour are not small. They are not optional. They are not a nice religious habit. When you stand watch over your sleeping household and you lift your voice to God, you are doing the most important work happening in your home tonight. While they sleep, you guard. While they rest, you war. While they dream, you build a wall of prayer around every one of them.
Think about what it actually means to stand guard over a sleeping household. Right now, the people you love are completely vulnerable. They are not defending themselves. They are not making decisions. They are not even aware of what is happening in the unseen world around them. A child asleep is the most trusting picture in all the world. They have laid down their bodies and closed their eyes and trusted that someone is watching. My friend, tonight that someone is you.
And here is the beautiful thing. You are not standing guard alone. The scripture says, "Behold, he who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." God never sleeps. He is awake over your home every hour of every night. But in his kindness, he invites you to stand the watch with him. Not because he needs you, because he loves you and he loves them. And he has chosen to move through the prayers of people who care enough to wake up.
The early hours have always been the hours of the seekers. The psalmist said, "Oh God, you are my God. Early will I seek you. My soul thirsts for you." He also said, "My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning. Yes, more than those who watch for the morning." And again, "And my eyes are awake through the night watches that I may meditate on your word." Do you hear the hunger in those words? These were not people who set an alarm out of guilt. These were people whose souls were so thirsty for God that the night could not hold them down. They got up. They sought him. They met him in the watches of the night. And every one of them will tell you the same thing. What you receive in this hour, you carry into the whole day.
So before we pray a single word over your consecration, your family, your children, your provision, your protection, your healing. I want to help you posture your heart because the morning watch is not a performance and it is not a duty you check off a list. It is a meeting. It is you and your God in the stillness while the world sleeps. So let your shoulders come down from around your ears. Let the worries that you carried to bed loosen their grip just for now. You are not going to solve everything in the next 3 hours. You are going to do something better. You are going to hand everything to the one who never sleeps.
Take a slow breath in and let it out. Feel the chair or the floor beneath you. Feel that your body is held and know that your spirit is held even more securely than that. I want you to picture your home from above the way God sees it. There are the rooms. There are the people in them. There is the roof over their heads. And there is you awake at the center of it lifting your hands. My friend, that picture is not weakness. That is strength. That is a family being covered. That is a watchman on the wall.
The enemy of your soul would love for you to feel foolish for being awake right now. He would love to whisper that this is pointless, that you should just go back to sleep, that prayer changes nothing. Do not believe him for one second. The fact that you are awake and reaching for God is itself a victory. You have already won the first battle of the night simply by getting up.
For the next stretch of hours, we are going to walk through seven movements together. First, we are going to deal with you because the watchman has to be clean before he can guard the wall. Then, we are going to cover your family, your spouse, your children, your home, and your bloodline. Then, we are going to ask God for guidance and protection over every step of the day and the season ahead. Then we are going to stand for provision and open doors for the supply your household needs. Then we are going to move into healing and into spiritual warfare, pulling down the things that have stood too long. And finally, we are going to seal the watch with blessing and send you into the morning carried by the favor of God. But none of that happens in a rush. This is the morning watch, not the morning sprint. So, we will move slowly. We will leave room for silence. We will let the word of God do its quiet work in you. And all the while, your household sleeps on, safe, unaware, and covered by a love they did not even have to ask for.
There is one more thing I want you to understand before we begin. And it may be the most important thing of all. The morning watch is not about you being strong enough. If you waited until you felt strong, holy, or worthy enough to keep this watch, you would never keep it. None of us would. The watchman does not stand on the wall because he is mighty. He stands on the wall because he has been positioned there by the king. And the king has promised to fight for the city. So whatever you brought into this room tonight, whatever you are ashamed of, whatever you are tired of, whatever you have been carrying for years, you can lay it down right here. The watch does not require a perfect person. It requires a willing one. And the fact that you are still reading these words tells me your heart is willing.
I also want you to release the outcome. Tonight you will pray for many things. You will name your children. You will name your needs. You will lift up your body, your finances, your home, your future. But the morning watch is not a vending machine where the right words produce the right result. It is a place of trust. Jesus prayed in the fourth watch, and he still walked through hard days. The watchmen of Isaiah kept not silence, and the wall still had to be guarded the next night. So pray with faith, but pray with surrender. Ask boldly and then leave it in hands far stronger and far wiser than yours. The scripture says casting all your care upon him for he cares for you. That word casting means you actually let go. You do not pray and then pick the worry back up. You hand it over and you leave it handed over and finally settle into the quiet.
The world has trained you to fear silence, to fill every gap with sound, but the morning watch is built on stillness. The Lord said, "Be still and know that I am God." Stillness is not emptiness. Stillness is the doorway. So when I leave space between these words tonight, do not rush to fill it. Let the silence be part of the prayer. Let your breathing slow. Let your heart catch up to your spirit. The watchman is most effective not when he is loud, but when he is awake, attentive, and unhurried on the wall. So lift your eyes, my friend. The watchman is on the wall. The hour is holy. Your God is awake, and it is time to begin, my friend.
Here is something every watchman learns sooner or later. You cannot guard a wall you are not standing on. And you cannot stand on the wall with clean hands if your own heart has not been dealt with first. So before we pray a single word over your spouse, your children, your home or your future, we have to begin with you. Not because you are the most important person in this house tonight, but because you are the one who is awake. You are the door the prayers will flow through and a door must be clear before anything can pass through it. There is an order to this and the order is not an accident. When the priests of the Old Testament went into the temple to minister on behalf of the people, they did not walk straight to the altar. They stopped first at the labor, the basin of water, and they washed every time. No exceptions. The washing was not a punishment. It was a kindness. It was God saying, "Before you carry the needs of the people, let me deal with you so that nothing in you gets in the way of what I want to do through you." Tonight, this is your labor. This is the place where you wash before you watch.
I know there is a temptation to skip this part. You woke up burdened for someone else. Maybe a child who is struggling. Maybe a marriage under strain. Maybe a financial mountain that has kept you up many nights. And everything in you wants to rush straight to that need. But hear me my friend. If you bypass your own heart, you will be praying with a divided spirit. You will be standing on the wall with something the enemy can still grab hold of. The scripture says, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear." That is not God being harsh. That is God being honest. He is telling you that unconfessed sin is like a kink in a hose. The water is still there. The pressure is still there, but it cannot get through. So we deal with the kink first. We come clean first.
And coming clean is not the same as condemnation. I want you to understand the difference because the enemy will try to blur it. Condemnation says you are bad. You are a failure. You should not even be awake right now. Who do you think you are? Conviction says, "Beloved, there is something between us. Let me wash it away so we can be close again." Condemnation pushes you away from God. Conviction draws you toward him. The scripture says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus." So whatever you confess tonight, you confess it as a beloved child walking toward the father, not as a criminal dragged before a judge. The blood of Jesus has already settled the judgment. What we are doing tonight is restoring the closeness.
And the promise we stand on is one of the sweetest in all of scripture. The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Look at how complete that is. He is faithful, which means he will always do it. He is just, which means the price has already been paid. So he is not bending the rules to forgive you. He is honoring what the cross accomplished. And he does not only forgive, he cleanses. Forgiveness deals with the record. Cleansing deals with the residue. He removes both. So when you confess tonight, you are not begging a reluctant God. You are agreeing with a God who is already leaning toward you with mercy in his hands.
So let us begin to pray. And I want you to pray this with me out loud if you can or in the quiet of your heart if the house is too still. Either way, mean it.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you in the watch of the night. Before I pray for anyone else, I bring myself to you. I am the one you woke up. I am the one standing on the wall tonight. And I do not want to stand here with anything between us. So I ask you now, search me. The scripture says, "Search me, oh God, and know my heart. Try me and know my anxieties. And see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting." Lord, I pray that very prayer. Search my heart, try my thoughts, show me what I cannot see in myself.
Father, as you bring things to my mind, I confess them to you now. I confess the words I spoke that I should not have spoken. The sharp word to someone I love. The complaint that should have been a prayer. The half-truth I let stand because the whole truth was inconvenient. I confess the things I did with my hands and my time that did not honor you. I confess the thoughts I entertained when I should have turned away. I confess the bitterness I have been nursing, the offense I have been protecting, the resentment I have let grow roots in the quiet places of my heart. Lord, I lay every one of these down at your feet right now. I am not hiding them anymore. I am not excusing them anymore. I bring them into the light because the scripture says, "The blood of Jesus Christ, his son, cleanses us from all sin."
And father, I confess not only what I have done, but what I have left undone. The prayers I did not pray. The kindness I withheld. The forgiveness I delayed. The times you nudged me to reach out, to give, to speak life, and I was too tired or too busy or too proud. Lord, forgive me for the good I knew to do and did not do. Wash that away, too.
Now Lord, I receive your forgiveness. I am not going to confess and then keep carrying it. That would be calling you a liar. You said if I confess, you are faithful and just to forgive. So by faith I receive it. It is done. The record is clear. The residue is gone. Thank you, Father, that I am forgiven fully and completely in the name of Jesus.
And because you have forgiven me, I now forgive others. As you have forgiven me, I also forgive others. Lord, I release every person who has wronged me. I release the one who hurt me and never apologized. I release the family member whose words still echo in me. I release the friend who betrayed a trust. I release the person at work, the person from my past, the person I have rehearsed my anger toward in the watches of the night. I forgive them not because what they did was acceptable, but because I refuse to carry it onto this wall with me. Father, I will not stand watch over my household with unforgiveness in my hands. So I let it go. I let them go. I trust you to be the just judge that I am not. And I ask you to bless them even now in the name of Jesus.
Father, now create in me a clean heart. The scripture says, "Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Lord, I cannot manufacture this myself. I cannot scrub my own heart clean. Only you can create. So create in me right now in this hour a heart that is clean before you. Renew a right spirit within me. Take the spirit of heaviness and give me the garment of praise. Take the spirit of fear and remind me that you have not given me the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Renew me, Lord. Not just patch me up. Renew me and do not cast me away from your presence, Lord, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me by your generous spirit. Father, that is the cry of my heart in this watch. Bring back the joy, not the circumstances first, the joy first. Because the joy of the Lord is my strength and I am going to need strength to stand this watch. So restore my joy, Lord, and uphold me. I am not standing here by my own power tonight. I am being upheld by your free spirit.
Now, my friend, the confession is the washing, but the consecration is the offering. Confession deals with what is wrong. Consecration deals with what is yours. And in the morning watch, the watchman does not only get clean, he surrenders. He gives himself fully to the one who set him on the wall. The scripture says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." A living sacrifice. That is what you are becoming in this hour. Not a sacrifice that is consumed and gone, but a living one given fully yet still breathing, still walking, still serving. And the trouble with a living sacrifice, as the old saints used to say, is that it can crawl off the altar. So tonight, we are climbing back on. We are giving God what is his.
So pray with me again.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I present myself to you now. Not just my sins for forgiveness, but my whole self for your purposes. I present my body to you. These hands, use them for your work. These feet, order them in your paths. This mouth, fill it with your words. These eyes, let them see the way you see. This body is not my own. For I was bought at a price. Therefore, I will glorify you in my body and in my spirit which are yours.
I present my mind to you, Lord. Let this mind be in me which was also in Christ Jesus. I will not be conformed to this world, but I am transformed by the renewing of my mind. Take my thought life, Father. Take the worries that loop in the night. Take the arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. My mind belongs to you.
I present my will to you, Lord. This is the hardest one, and you know it. I have my plans. I have my preferences. I have the way I think this season should go. And right here on this wall, in this watch, I lay my will down. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done, Lord. I would rather be in the center of your will than the center of my own success. So lead me. I am yours.
I present my home to you. every room, every doorway, every conversation that will happen under this roof tomorrow. I present my family to you, the people sleeping around me right now. I present my work, my finances, my future, my reputation, my fears, and my dreams. Lord, I am not holding anything back tonight. The watchman keeps nothing for himself. I am consecrated. I am set apart. I am yours.
Now, we come to one of the most important works of the morning watch. Because here is what I have learned. The enemy does not begin his attack on your home by attacking your home. He begins by attacking your understanding of who you are. If he can get you to forget your identity, he does not have to fight you for your family. You will hand the wall over yourself because you will not believe you have any right to stand on it. So listen carefully. When you got clean, that was the washing. When you surrendered, that was the offering. But now you must remember, you must remember what God says is true about you. Because the watchman who knows who he is becomes immovable.
The scripture says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." A new creation. Not an improved version of the old you, a new one. The person who failed last year is not the person standing on this wall tonight. Old things are passed away. So we are not going to stand watch as the old creature. We are going to stand watch as the new one.
And I want you to understand where your authority on this wall comes from. It does not come from how spiritual you feel right now. It comes from your position. The scripture says God raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Sit together in heavenly places. That means the believer prays from a position of being seated with Christ far above every power that would come against your house. You are not down in the valley shouting up at the enemy. You are seated with Christ looking down at a defeated foe. That is the place you pray from tonight.
So let us declare it. And my friend, I want you to say these declarations with me, not as wishful thinking, as truth, as the watchman taking up his post.
I am a child of God. The scripture says, "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God. To those who believe in his name." I have received him. I believe on his name. Therefore, I am not an orphan. I am not abandoned. I am not on my own in this house tonight. I am a son. I am a daughter. The God who never sleeps is my father and he is awake with me right now.
I am righteous in Christ, not because of what I have done, but because of what he has done. The scripture says, "For he made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him." So I do not stand on this wall tonight in my own righteousness which would crumble under the weight. I stand in the righteousness of God himself given to me as a gift. The enemy cannot accuse what God has declared righteous.
I am forgiven and free. The scripture says, "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace." My past does not get a vote in this watch. My failures do not get a vote. They have been redeemed, covered, and carried away. I am free.
I am more than a conqueror. The scripture says, "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Not a victim of the night, not a casualty waiting to happen, more than a conqueror. Whatever has been coming against my family, I outrank it in Christ.
I am the head and not the tail. The scripture says, "And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail. You shall be above only and not be beneath." So I refuse to live this season beneath my circumstances. I am positioned above in Christ and I am calling my household up to where God has placed us.
I am protected. The scripture says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty." I dwell there. My family dwells there. We abide under the shadow of the Almighty and no shadow of the enemy can reach where the shadow of God already covers.
I am chosen. The scripture says, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." A royal priesthood. That is why I can stand watch tonight. A priest goes before God on behalf of others. Tonight I am a priest for my household and I have been given the right to come boldly before the throne.
I am loved with an everlasting love. The scripture says, "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with loving kindness, I have drawn you." I did not wake up tonight by accident. I was drawn. Drawn by loving kindness. Drawn by a god who wanted his child on the wall. I am wanted here. I belong here.
My friend, do you feel the difference? A few minutes ago, you may have felt like someone who was simply tired and awake at an odd hour. But that is not who you are. You are a forgiven, righteous, chosen, protected, deeply loved child of the living God. seated with Christ, standing watch over a household he has entrusted to you. That is the truth. And the truth is what you will guard the wall with.
Now, let me say something tender because I know some of you are carrying a particular weight. Some of you feel disqualified. You think, "If anyone really knew me, they would know I have no business praying for anyone." You look at your past and it feels too heavy. You look at last week and it feels too recent. My friend, hear me. The watchman is not chosen for his perfection. He is chosen for his willingness. The scripture says, "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." That means God does not take back what he has given. Your stumbling did not cancel your calling. Your worst night did not erase your assignment. If God wanted only perfect people on the wall, the wall would be empty. He wants you as you are, washed by the blood and standing in his righteousness, not yours.
And some of you have believed a lie for so long. That the truth feels like a stranger. Someone told you years ago that you were a burden, that you were not enough, that you would always struggle, that your family line was cursed to repeat the same failures. Tonight on this wall. We cancel that. The scripture says, "Indeed, let God be true, but every man a liar." So every voice that contradicts what God has said about you is overruled right now in the name of Jesus. You are not what your wounds said you are. You are not what your worst critic said you are. You are not even what your own fearful heart has said you are. You are what the blood says you are. And the blood says you are his, my friend.
The psalmist asked a question that belongs in this exact hour. He said, "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in his holy place?" And then he answered it, "He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully." Do you see why we began the way we did tonight? You cannot ascend the hill of the Lord with the night still on your hands. You cannot stand in his holy place carrying what you carried to bed. But you have washed now. You have confessed. You have forgiven. You have surrendered. So you can ascend. The hill is open to you tonight. Clean hands and a pure heart are not a prize for the perfect. They are a gift to the willing who come and ask.
And look at the promise that follows. The psalmist says of the one who ascends, "He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation." He shall receive the blessing. That means the morning watch is not only a place where you give. It is a place where you receive. You will receive blessing here. You will receive righteousness here. You will receive strength and clarity and peace and the very presence of God here. So do not approach this watch as a chore you owe. Approach it as a hill you get to climb where the blessing is waiting at the top.
There is a moment I want you to make with me before we go any further. A moment of commitment because the night will try to talk you off this wall. Around the next half hour, the tiredness will deepen and the thought will come, this is enough. Go back to sleep. You have done your part, my friend. Decide now what you will do then. The scripture says, "And let us not grow weary while doing good. For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." If we do not lose heart. So tonight you make the decision in advance. You are not fainting. You are not coming down off the wall early. You are standing the whole watch.
Father, I commit to this watch. I am not here for a few minutes. I am here for the hours you have given me. I set my heart like a watchman who will not leave his post until the morning comes. The scripture says, "My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning." So I wait. I will not grow weary in this well-doing. I will not faint. Strengthen the decision I am making right now, Lord, so that when the tiredness deepens, the commitment holds. Hold me to this hill, Father, all the way to the dawn.
My friend, there is more. Because the watchman needs his inner man strengthened, not just his identity remembered. The scripture says, "God is able to grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might through his spirit in the inner man." The outer man is tired right now. It is the middle of the night and your body knows it. But the inner man, the part of you that prays, the part of you that believes, the part of you that stands on the wall, that part can be strengthened with might even while your body is weary. So we are going to ask for that.
Father, strengthen me with might by your spirit in the inner man. I confess that my flesh is weak in this hour. My eyes are heavy. My body wants its bed, but I do not stand this watch in the strength of my flesh. The scripture says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." So I wait on you right now, Lord. And I receive renewed strength, not borrowed adrenaline, renewed strength, the kind that comes from your throne. Let my inner man be wide awake, even if my outer man is tired. Let my spirit be sharp on this wall.
And father fill me afresh. The scripture says, "And do not be drunk with wine in which is dissipation, but be filled with the spirit." I do not want to stand this watch running on yesterday's filling. I want to be filled tonight. So fill me holy spirit. Fill the dry places. Fill the tired places. Fill the places where doubt has been seeping in. Let me pray these next hours full, not empty. Let rivers of living water flow out of me the way Jesus promised, washing over my household while they sleep.
Now, let me give you a few more declarations, my friend, because the consecration of the watchmen includes consecrating his words. The scripture says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." So, we are not going to speak death on this wall tonight. Every word from here forward is going to be a word of life. Say it with me.
My mouth is consecrated to God. The scripture says, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer." So I set my mouth apart tonight. It will speak blessing, not cursing. It will speak faith, not fear. It will agree with heaven, not with the enemy.
I am an overcomer. The scripture says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony." I have the blood. I have my testimony. So I overcome. Whatever has been pressing against my home, I overcome it because the one in me is greater than the one in the world.
I am kept by the power of God. The scripture says, "I am kept by the power of God through faith for salvation." I am not holding myself together tonight by willpower. I am being kept, guarded, garrisoned by the power of God himself. And what God keeps stays kept.
I have the mind of Christ. The scripture says, "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him, but we have the mind of Christ." So my thoughts on this wall are not limited to my own understanding. I can think God's thoughts after him. I can pray with his wisdom. I can see what he shows me.
I am a temple of the living God. The scripture says, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells in you?" So the presence I am reaching for tonight is not far away in the sky. He dwells in me. The watch is not me calling out to a distant God. It is me communing with the God who already lives within.
And here is the last one, my friend. And I want you to let it go all the way down. I am not standing this watch alone. The scripture says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So I declare it. I am not alone in this house tonight. I am not alone on this wall. The Lord stands with me. The angels of God are encamped round about. The watch is shared. The burden is shared. The victory is shared.
So before I lift a single name, before I pray over a single room, I settle this first. I know who I am. I know whose I am. I know who stands with me. The washing is done. The offering is made. The inner man is strengthened. The mouth is consecrated. The watchman is ready.
Father, I thank you for who you have made me. I receive this identity tonight, not as a feeling, but as a fact. I am yours. I am clean. I am righteous in Christ. I am seated with him. I am qualified by his blood to stand this watch. And from this place, from this clean and consecrated and settled place, I am now ready to lift up the people you have given me. Thank you, Father, that you always start with the heart of the one who is willing. My heart is willing, my hands are clean, my post is taken. In the mighty name of Jesus, I am ready to guard the wall. Amen.
Now, my friend, the watchman turns toward the household. You have washed. You have been consecrated. You know who you are. And now you lift your eyes from yourself and look at the rooms around you where the people you love are sleeping. This is the heart of the morning watch. This is why God woke you. There are people in your family tonight who cannot pray for themselves right now. because they are asleep and you are standing in the gap for every one of them.
Let me show you something about the kind of guarding God does because it will change how you pray. In the book of Job, the enemy himself made a complaint to God about a man named Job. And listen to the words he used. "Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands and his possessions have increased in the land." My friend, slow down and look at that. The enemy was frustrated because he could not get to Job. And the reason he could not get to him was a hedge. God had made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he had on every side. Not on one side, on every side. That is the kind of covering we are asking for tonight over your household. A hedge around the person, a hedge around the house, a hedge around everything they have on every side.
And here is what I want you to understand. That hedge was not automatic. It was the result of a relationship. Job was a man who, the scripture tells us, would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly. Did you catch that? Rose early in the morning. He was a morning watch father. He stood guard over his children before the day began. He prayed for them by name, for their hearts, for the things they might have done that he could not see. Thus Job did regularly. That is you tonight. That is exactly what you are doing right now.
So the watchman over a family is not a worrier. The watchman is an intercessor. There is a vast difference between the two. Worry stares at the danger and rehearses the worst. Intercession stares at the danger and stands between it and the people you love. Worry says, "What if?" Intercession says, "Not on my watch." Worry leaves you exhausted and accomplishes nothing. Intercession leaves you spent but accomplishes everything because it moves the hand of God. My friend, tonight you are not going to worry over your family. You are going to war for them quietly on your knees while they sleep.
The scripture says, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth." Your children, whether they are small and down the hall or grown and far away, are arrows. And an arrow is meant to be aimed and released toward a target. Part of your watch tonight is to keep the aim true. The enemy wants to bend the arrow to send it off course to break it before it ever flies. But you are the warrior with the arrow in your hand. And tonight you set the aim straight again in prayer.
Let me say a word to you before we pray because I know who is listening. Some of you have a child who is walking through something hard. Maybe they are far from God right now. Maybe they are making choices that break your heart. Maybe you have prayed so long that your prayers feel worn thin. My friend, do not stop. The scripture says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." That promise does not have an expiration date. And some of you have a marriage that is strained and you are not even sure your spouse wants what you want anymore. Pray anyway. Some of you are praying for grandchildren, for relatives, for a family line that has carried the same wounds for generations. Tonight on this wall, every one of them is covered. Not one name is too far for the reach of this prayer.
So let us begin. And we will go slowly, person by person, room by room.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I stand as the watchman over this household tonight. I thank you that you never slumber and never sleep. That you are already awake over every person under this roof. And that you have invited me to stand the watch with you. So I take my post now, Father, and I lift them up to you one by one.
First, Lord, I pray for my spouse, the one you joined to me, the one sleeping beside me or apart from me tonight. Father, I ask you to put your hedge around my husband, around my wife, on every side. Guard their body as they sleep. Let their rest be deep and their dreams be peaceful. The scripture says, "I will both lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, oh Lord, make me dwell in safety." Let that be true over my spouse tonight. Guard their mind from the heaviness that creeps in during the night. Guard their heart from offense, from discouragement, from the slow erosion of hope.
Lord, where my marriage is strong, I thank you and I ask you to make it stronger. And where my marriage is strained, where there has been distance, hard words, silence, disappointment, I bring it to you honestly tonight. I will not pretend on this wall. I ask you to do what only you can do. Soften what has gotten hard. Heal what has been wounded. The scripture says, "Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate." So I stand against everything trying to separate my marriage in the name of Jesus. I bind division. I bind bitterness. I bind the spirit of strife that loves to feed in the night. And I ask you, Father, to renew our covenant, to give us fresh love, fresh patience, fresh tenderness. Let us be for each other what you designed us to be.
And Lord, for the one I am married to, I pray your purpose over their life, not just their role in mine. Let them walk in everything you created them for. Bless the work of their hands. Lift the weight they have been carrying. Draw them closer to you than they have ever been. If they are far from you tonight, Lord, I ask you to pursue them with your loving kindness. and I refuse to give up praying until I see it. Cover my spouse, Father. They are sleeping and they do not know I am awake doing this. But you know, and you are faithful.
Now, Lord, I lift up my children. And I am going to call them by name before you, even if I only say the names in my heart. Father, for each child whose name I just spoke, I ask for your hedge of protection on every side. The scripture says, "For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways." So I ask you, send your angels to keep
My children in all their ways, in the ways I know about and in the ways I do not. At home and away from home, in the daylight and in the dark. Charge your angels over them tonight. Guard their bodies, Lord. Keep them from harm, from accident, from sickness, from every plan of the enemy against their health and their safety. The scripture says, "No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling." Let that word stand over my children tonight.
Guard their minds, Father. Guard their thoughts from fear, from anxiety, from the lies the world is whispering to them about who they are and what they are worth. Let them know deep down that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Guard their hearts, Lord. Keep their hearts tender toward you. Where the world is trying to harden them, keep them soft. Where the world is trying to confuse them, keep them clear.
Lord, I pray for the friendships my children are forming. Surround them with people who will pull them toward you and away from harm. Remove from their lives the influences that would lead them into a pit and do it gently, Father, but do it surely. The scripture says, "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed." So let my children walk with wise companions. Let them be the kind of friend that lifts others up and let them be surrounded by friends who do the same.
I pray for my children's future, Lord. For the calling you placed in them before they were ever born. The scripture says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." So I thank you that you have thoughts of peace toward each of my children. You have a future and a hope for them, a good future, a hopefilled future. I will not let the enemy write a different story over their lives. I declare that my children will fulfill the purpose of God in their generation. They will not be lost. They will not be wasted. They will not be a statistic. They are arrows in the hand of a mighty God. And they will hit the mark he aimed them at.
And Father, for the child who is struggling. You know which one? The one whose name I spoke with a heavier heart. The one who is far from you or far from peace or far from the path. Lord, I bring that child to you with everything in me tonight. I am not going to lecture them in my prayer. I am going to trust you with them. The scripture says, "All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children." So I hold you to that word. Teach, my child, where my voice can no longer reach, let your voice reach. Where my arms can no longer hold, let your arms hold. Send the right person, the right word, the right moment of awakening. Pursue them, Lord. The way the shepherd pursued the one sheep that wandered. And while you pursue them, give me the grace not to grow weary, let me keep standing this watch until I see the answer.
Now, Lord, I pray over the home itself, this house, this dwelling place. The scripture says, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain." So I do not want to be a watchman staying awake in vain tonight. I want you to keep this house. I dedicate this home to you again, Father. Every room, every doorway, every window, every threshold. Let this be a place where your presence dwells. Let peace rule within these walls. The scripture says, "The work of righteousness will be peace." and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. Let quietness and assurance fill this home. Where there has been tension in these rooms, let there be peace. Where there has been fear in these rooms, let there be faith. Where there have been hard words spoken in these rooms, let the echo of them be silenced. And let new words of life fill the space. I declare this home a place of refuge. I declare it a place where the weary find rest and the troubled find peace. I declare that as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. The enemy has no claim here. He has no legal ground here. Every door he tried to open in this home, I close in the name of Jesus. Every assignment against the peace of this household, I cancel in the name of Jesus. This house belongs to the Lord. And what belongs to the Lord is kept by the Lord.
And Father, I want to pray over the bloodline, the family line I came from and the family line that will come after me. Because the morning watch is not only for tonight, it is for generations. The scripture says, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children." I want to leave an inheritance of blessing, not just of money, but of covenant. So tonight, I deal with what has been passed down. Lord, every pattern that has repeated in my family for generations, every cycle of brokenness, every wound that got handed from parent to child to grandchild, I bring it to the cross tonight. The scripture says, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree." So I stand on that Christ has redeemed my family line from the curse. Whatever has tried to repeat itself through my bloodline, addiction, divorce, poverty, sickness, fear, abandonment, broken relationship with you, I declare that it stops with me. It stops on this wall. It stops in this watch. The cycle is broken in the name of Jesus. And it will not pass to my children or my children's children.
And in its place, Father, I release the generational blessing. The scripture says of the man who fears the Lord, "his descendants will be mighty on earth. The generation of the upright will be blessed." So I declare that blessing over my generations. I declare that my descendants will be mighty on the earth. I declare that the generation coming after me will be a generation of the upright and they will be blessed. What was meant to be a line of brokenness, I declare by the blood of Jesus will be a line of blessing. The curse stops. The blessing starts and it starts tonight on this watch through this prayer.
Father, I also lift up the extended family, the ones who are not under this roof but are written on my heart. My parents if they are still living and the memory and legacy of those who have gone, my brothers and sisters, the aunts, the uncles, the cousins, the relatives, some of whom I have not spoken to in too long. Lord, I cover them. I ask your hedge around each of them. I ask for salvation where it is needed, for healing where it is needed, for reconciliation where it is needed. Where there has been a rift in my family, Lord, I pray you would be the one to bridge it. The scripture says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity." Restore unity, Father, where the enemy has worked to divide. Let my family be knit back together by your hand.
And Lord, I pray for the one who is hardest to pray for. Every family has one. The relative who has caused pain. The one whose choices have cost everyone. The one I have been tempted to write off. Father, I will not write them off tonight. I prayed earlier that I would forgive and I meant it. So now I do more than forgive. I intercede. I ask you to reach that one. I ask you to soften that one. I ask you to do in their life what no human effort has been able to do. They are still part of this bloodline. And the blessing I am releasing tonight is for them too.
Now my friend, I want you to do something. I want you to pray in your own words for the one person in your family that the Lord is putting on your heart right now. I have prayed in general, but you know the specific. You know the name, the situation, the need that no script could name for you. So take a moment now on the wall and lift that one up to the Father in your own voice.
Father, I thank you for hearing that prayer, the one I just lifted up in my own words. You heard every syllable and you heard the things I could not even find words for. The scripture says, "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." So even what I could not say, the Spirit said for me, thank you, Lord.
Now I want to seal this part of the watch with a covering over everyone I have named. The scripture says, "The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them." So I declare the angel of the Lord encamped round about my spouse, round about each of my children, round about my home, round about my bloodline, round about my extended family. They are encamped. They are surrounded. They are delivered. The scripture says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from me, says the Lord." So I take that heritage tonight for my whole household. No weapon formed against my family shall prosper. Not the weapon I can see and not the weapon I cannot see. Not the weapon aimed at their body, their mind, their faith, their future, or their relationships. No weapon formed against them shall prosper because that is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And we are his servants.
My friend, look at what you have just done. While your household sleeps completely unaware, you have built a wall of prayer around every one of them. You have called the angels to their posts. You have closed the doors the enemy was working on. You have broken cycles that have run for generations. You have released a blessing that will outlive you. They will wake up in a few hours and never know what happened on this wall tonight. But heaven knows. And one day the full weight of these night watches will be revealed and you will see that the morning watch was one of the most important things you ever did for the people you love.
My friend, I want to pray the great protection psalm over your household because there is no covering quite like the words God himself gave us in Psalm 91. So receive these words over your family tonight. "He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In him I will trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers. And under his wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler."
Father, I take that word and I lay it over my whole household tonight. I declare that my family dwells in the secret place of the most high. I declare that we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. You are our refuge. You are our fortress. And you have promised in that same psalm, "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day." So I declare over my home, there is no terror by night here because the Lord is our dwelling place. And the psalm goes on, "No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways." So I receive that promise. The angels of God have charge over this household to keep every person in all their ways.
Now Lord, I want to pray over the gates of this home. Not only the physical doors, but the gates of what comes in. The eyes of my family are gates. The ears of my family are gates. What they watch, what they listen to, what they let into their minds through the screens and the voices around them. These are gates into their souls. The scripture says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." So I ask you, Father, to help me guard these gates as the watchmen of this home. Let what enters the eyes and ears of my children be life and not poison. Where the world is pouring confusion and fear and filth through these gates, I stand at the gate tonight in prayer and I push it back in the name of Jesus. Give my family a holy discernment, Lord. Let my children develop a taste for what is pure and a discomfort with what is corrupt. The scripture says, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things." So I declare that the minds of my household will be filled with what is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. I declare that the gates of this home will be guarded gates, and what passes through them will build my family up and not tear them down.
And Father, I pray for the influences beyond these walls that reach into my home. The voices my children hear when they are not with me. The culture pressing in on them. The people whispering into my spouse's life. Lord, I cannot follow my loved ones everywhere. But you can. So I ask you to be the watchman where I cannot be. Silence the voices that would lead them astray. Amplify the voices that would lead them to you. The scripture says, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." So let my loved ones learn the sound of your voice above every other voice. Until your voice is the one they follow.
My friend, before we close this watch over the family, I want to take you back to a night in Egypt because it teaches us how protection works while a household sleeps on the night of the Passover. Every family was told to take the blood of a lamb and put it on the two sideposts and on the upper doorpost of their houses. And God said, "Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you." Think about what those families did. They could not stay awake fighting the destroyer all night. They could not stand at the door with weapons. What they could do was apply the blood and then trust the covering. And inside those homes, children slept while judgment passed over because the blood was on the door. That is what you are doing tonight, my friend. You are applying the blood not literally on the wood of your doorframe, but by faith over every person and every doorway of your home. The scripture says, "We have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." So the same blood that protected those households in Egypt covers your household tonight. And it is a better blood, a blood that speaketh better things. So pray it with me.
Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over this home tonight. I apply it by faith over every doorway, every window, every entry point, seen and unseen. I apply the blood of Jesus over my spouse, over each of my children, over every person sleeping under this roof. The scripture says, "When you see the blood, you will pass over." So I declare that every plan of the destroyer must pass over this house because the blood is on the door. Whatever has been assigned against my family in the night season, it cannot land here. The blood has spoken. The household is covered. The destroyer has no entry.
And Father, I pray over their sleep itself because the enemy loves to work in the place of rest. The scripture says, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet." So I declare sweet sleep over every person in this house. I declare their sleep to be deep, restorative, and free from torment. I bind every spirit of fear that would come through a nightmare. I bind every troubling dream, every assignment against their rest, every voice that would whisper anxiety into their minds while they sleep. And in its place, I ask you to give them rest. The kind of rest the scripture promises when it says, "For so he gives his beloved sleep." Let my loved ones receive that gift tonight. Let them wake up renewed, not weary. Let them wake up with hope, not heaviness.
Now, my friend, let me show you one more picture because it is the picture of what you are doing right now. After the Lord Jesus rose to heaven, there came a night when the Apostle Peter was thrown into prison, bound with chains, guarded by soldiers, set to be killed in the morning. And the scripture says something simple and powerful. "Peter was therefore kept in prison. But constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church." While Peter slept in chains, the believers were awake praying. They had gathered in a house in the dark hours and they would not stop. And that very night the angel of the Lord came. The chains fell off. The prison doors opened and Peter walked out free. He did not even know it was happening at first. The scripture says he thought he saw a vision. He was being delivered while he could barely understand it. Because somewhere else, people who loved him were on the wall.
My friend, do you see yourself in that story? Somewhere in your house tonight, someone you love is bound by something. A chain of fear, a chain of habit, a chain of discouragement, a prison of a situation they cannot get out of on their own. And they are asleep the way Peter was asleep. They do not know that you are awake. They do not know that prayer is being made without ceasing for them in the next room. But heaven knows. And the same angel that opened Peter's prison is dispatched by the same kind of prayer. So do not underestimate what is happening on this wall tonight. Chains are falling that your loved ones will not even understand until later.
Father, I pray that very thing now for the one in my house who is bound. I ask you to send your angel tonight. Let chains fall. Let prison doors open. Let the thing that has held my loved one captive be loosed in the name of Jesus. The scripture says, "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." So I declare freedom indeed over my household. Not partial freedom, not temporary freedom, freedom indeed. And like the church praying for Peter, I will not stop. I will pray without ceasing until I see the chains on the floor.
And Lord, I lift up the day that is coming for each member of my family. In a few hours, they will rise and step into a day I cannot walk through for them. So I walk through it now in advance in prayer. I pray over the conversations they will have. Let their words be seasoned with grace. I pray over the decisions they will face. Give them wisdom beyond their years. I pray over the pressures that will meet them at school, at work, in their relationships. Let them stand. I pray over the moments of temptation that will come. Make a way of escape as you promised and give them the strength to take it. The scripture says, "The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore." So I declare your preservation over every going out and every coming in of my loved ones tomorrow.
I pray over their hearts toward one another. Let there be peace between my children. Let there be honor between parent and child. Let there be no root of bitterness springing up in this family to trouble us. The scripture says, "And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." So I ask you, Father, make this a kind home. Make us tenderhearted with each other where there has been friction between the people I love. Send your peace through these rooms tonight, and let them wake up softer toward one another than they went to sleep.
And I pray that this household would be a household that knows you. Not just a household that is safe, but a household that is yours. The scripture says, "All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children." So I ask not only for protection, but for revelation. Reveal yourself to my spouse. Reveal yourself to my children. Let each one of them have their own encounter with you, their own walk with you, their own living faith that does not depend on mine. Let it be said of this family and the generations to come that we were a family that served the Lord.
Father, I commit my family into your hands. Now I have done my part as the watchman. I have stood the post. I have called the names. And now I rest in the truth that you are the keeper and the keeper of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. They are yours, Lord. Every one of them held in hands far stronger and far more loving than mine. I thank you that not one name I lifted tonight will fall through the cracks in the mighty name of Jesus. My household is covered. Amen.
My friend, the watch moves now from covering the people you love to charting the path they will walk. Because protection is not only about keeping harm away, it is also about keeping the steps true. A family can be perfectly safe and still be perfectly lost, wandering in circles, missing the doors God opened, walking into seasons God never assigned. So in this part of the watch, we are going to ask God to order the steps, yours, and the steps of everyone under your roof. Listen to this promise because it is one of the quiet anchors of the whole Bible. The scripture says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way." Slow down on that word ordered. It does not say the steps of a good man are suggested by the Lord. It does not say they are observed by the Lord. It says they are ordered. God arranges them. He sets them in sequence and then it adds something tender. He delights in his way. God is not a reluctant guide dragging you along. He delights in the way you are walking when you let him order it. That is the heart we are praying into tonight. And the verse right after it is just as precious. The scripture says, "Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." Did you hear that? Though he fall, not if he never stumbles. The man whose steps are ordered by God will still have hard days. He will still trip, but he shall not be utterly cast down because the same hand that orders the steps also catches the man. So as we pray for guidance tonight, we are not praying for a path with no difficulty. We are praying for a path where the hand of God is always underneath us.
Here is the part we have to be honest about. The reason we so often miss God's guidance is not that he is silent. It is that we are leaning. The scripture gives us the cure. And it is one of the most quoted passages in all of scripture and yet one of the least obeyed. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths." Look at the order of it. First trust with all your heart. Then lean not on your own understanding. Then in all your ways acknowledge him and only then comes the promise. He shall direct your paths. The direction is at the end not the beginning. Most of us want the directed path first and then we will decide whether to trust. But God reverses it. Trust first. Surrender your own understanding first. Acknowledge him in everything first and the directed path will come, my friend. Your own understanding is not evil. It is just limited. You can only see the part of the road that is lit. But God sees the whole journey at once. He sees the season you are walking toward before you are anywhere near it. So leaning not on your own understanding is not anti-intelligence. It is humility. It is saying, "Lord, I will use the mind you gave me, but I will not trust it above you." So tonight on this wall, we lay down our own understanding. We stop trying to figure everything out at 3:00 in the morning. And we ask the one who can see the whole road to direct the paths of our household. So let us pray.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I bring the steps of my household before you. I ask you to order our steps, Lord. Not just mine, the steps of my spouse, the steps of each of my children, the steps of everyone I am responsible for. I declare over this family that our steps are ordered by the Lord and that you delight in our way. I ask that tomorrow and in the season ahead you would arrange our steps so that we walk into what you prepared and away from what would harm us. Father, I confess that I have leaned on my own understanding. I have lain awake in these very hours trying to solve things with a mind that cannot see the whole picture. So tonight I lay my understanding down. I will trust in you with all my heart. I will not lean on my own understanding. I will acknowledge you in all my ways. And I receive your promise that you will direct my paths. Direct them, Lord. I would rather walk one step in your direction than a mile in mine.
Now, Father, I ask you for wisdom. The scripture says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." So I ask, I lack wisdom, and I am not ashamed to say it on this wall. I ask for wisdom for the decisions in front of me. The decision I have been turning over and over. The conversation I do not know how to have. The crossroad I am standing at where both roads look uncertain. Give me wisdom, Lord. You promise to give liberally and to give without scolding me for needing to ask. So I receive wisdom from you tonight. Freely given. And Father, give wisdom to every member of my household. Give my spouse wisdom in the weight they are carrying. Give my children wisdom beyond their years. The kind of wisdom that keeps a young person out of a pit they cannot yet see. The scripture says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." So plant the fear of the Lord deep in my family. That reverent, loving awe of you that becomes the root of every wise choice they will ever make.
Lord, I pray for the decisions that are coming this season. You know them, even the ones I do not see yet, the doors that will need to be walked through or walked past. The opportunities that will need a yes or a no. I ask that you make your will plain to me. The scripture says, "Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, 'This is the way. Walk in it, whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.'" So I ask for that voice behind me, Lord. When I am about to turn the wrong way, let me hear it. This is the way. Walk in it. Make your guidance unmistakable, Father. Not because I deserve clarity, but because you are a good shepherd who does not want his sheep wandering. And Father, give me discernment to know your voice from every other voice. The scripture says of the good shepherd, "And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger." So tune my ear, Lord. Let me know your voice. Let me know it so well that the voice of the stranger, the voice of fear, the voice of the crowd, the voice of my own anxious heart, all of them become easy to recognize and easy to refuse. I will not follow the stranger. I will follow you.
My friend, let me show you a man in scripture who learned guidance the hard way because his story will encourage you. There was a man named Jacob and for most of his life he tried to order his own steps. He schemed, he grasped, he manipulated his way toward the blessing he wanted and it left him running exhausted, alone, with a pillow of stone in the middle of nowhere. But it was there in the night that God met him. And Jacob said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." Then years later, on another night by the brook called Jabbok, Jacob wrestled with him until the breaking of day, and he would not let go until he was blessed. And the man who had spent his life ordering his own steps finally said, in essence, I will not move from this spot until you direct me. And he walked away from that night with a new name and a limp that reminded him for the rest of his life that he no longer walked in his own strength.
My friend, you are awake at the same hour Jacob wrestled until the breaking of day. And maybe like Jacob, you have spent a long time trying to arrange your own life, and it has left you tired. So tonight, do what he did. Refuse to let go until you are blessed and directed. Trade your own scheming for God's ordering. You may walk away from this watch with a holy limp, a permanent dependence on God, but that limp is not a wound. It is the mark of a person who finally stopped leaning on their own understanding.
Father, like Jacob at the brook, I will not let go until you bless and direct my household. I am done trying to scheme my way into the future. I am done forcing doors. I would rather wait on your timing than rush into my own plan. The scripture says, "Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say on the Lord." So I choose to wait, Lord, not passively, but with good courage, trusting that your timing for my family is better than my own.
Now Lord, I pray protection over every journey my household will take. Tomorrow there will be cars on roads. There will be travel. There will be coming and going. So I pray traveling mercies over every member of my family, over every vehicle, every road, every mile. The scripture says, "For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone." So I declare your angels charged over the travels of my family tomorrow. Keep them on the roads. Keep other vehicles from them. Keep them alert behind the wheel and protected as passengers. Let every journey begin and end in safety.
And Father, I pray the great traveler's psalm over my household. "I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." Lord, that is my confidence tonight. My help comes from you, the maker of heaven and earth. You will not let the foot of my loved ones be moved. You do not slumber. You do not sleep. You are awake over my family. Every moment I am not. The song goes on, "The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night." Father, I receive that you are the keeper of my household. You are the shade at our right hand. Nothing will strike my family by day and nothing will strike them by night.
And then the promise I want to plant over every door of this home. "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore." So I declare it, Lord. You shall preserve the going out and the coming in of everyone in this household. When my children walk out the door tomorrow, you go with them. When my spouse leaves for the day, you go with them. When they come home again at night, you bring them in. The going out and the coming in. From this time forth and even forevermore. I seal every doorway of this home with that promise tonight.
Lord, I also pray over the day's appointments, the meetings, the classes, the work, the errands, the unexpected things that are not on any calendar. The scripture says, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." So even where my family has made plans, I ask you to be the one who directs the steps within those plans. Set up the right encounters. Let my loved ones cross paths with the people you want them to meet. And keep them from the encounters that would do them harm. Order even the interruptions, Lord, because in your hands an interruption is often an appointment.
Father, I pray for the season ahead, not just tomorrow. You know the season my family is walking into. Maybe it is a season of change. Maybe it is a season of waiting. Maybe it is a season of building. Whatever it is, I ask you to give us understanding of the times. The scripture speaks of those who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do. Give my household that, Lord. Let us know not just what is happening, but what we ought to do in response. Let us not waste this season. Let us not misread it. Let us walk through it in step with you.
And Lord, where my family is at a true crossroad this season, a decision about a home, a job, a school, a relationship, a move, a calling, I ask for clear direction. The scripture says, "Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established." So I commit the works of my household to you tonight. I commit the big decisions. I commit the timing of them and I trust you to establish our thoughts, to settle our minds, to bring the peace that confirms the right path. The scripture also says, "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts." So let your peace be the umpire, Lord. Where there is peace, let us walk forward. Where there is no peace, let us wait. Rule our hearts with your peace, and we will follow it.
I pray also against confusion because confusion is one of the enemy's favorite tools against a family trying to find direction. The scripture says, "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace." So if it is confusion, it is not from God and I refuse it in the name of Jesus. I bind the spirit of confusion over my household. I bind double-mindedness. I bind the fog that makes simple things feel impossible. And I declare clarity over my family. I declare a sound mind. I declare that we will think clearly, decide soundly, and walk forward in peace.
And Father, I pray for protection that goes beyond the body. Protect the reputation of my household. Protect the name of my family from slander and false accusation. The scripture says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn." So every tongue rising against my family in judgment, I condemn it in the name of Jesus. Let the truth about my household stand. Protect the relationships of my family from the wedge the enemy tries to drive. Protect the faith of my family from the slow drift the world encourages. Guard us, Lord, on every side the way you guarded Job. A hedge around us. A hedge around our house. A hedge around all that we have.
My friend, do you see what you are doing? You are walking tomorrow before tomorrow arrives. You are clearing the road in the dark so that when the sun comes up, your family steps onto a path that has already been prayed over. They will get up in a few hours and begin their day and they will never know that the road was made ready while they slept. But it was the watchman went ahead. The watchman ordered the morning before the morning came, my friend. There is a prayer the psalmist prayed that belongs in your mouth in this very hour. So let us pray it together. "Show me your ways, O Lord. Teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me. For you are the God of my salvation. On you I wait all the day."
Father, that is my cry tonight over my household. Show us your ways. Teach us your paths. Lead us in your truth. We are waiting on you, not just in this watch, but all the day. And the psalm gives a beautiful promise to those who wait that way. It says, "Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall he teach in the way he chooses? He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth." Look at that, my friend. The one who fears the Lord gets taught the way. He himself dwells in prosperity, and his descendants inherit the earth. So when you pray for guidance, you are not only setting your own course, you are blessing your seed.
Father, I receive that promise tonight. Because I fear you, because I reverence you. Teach my household the way we should choose. Let us dwell in prosperity, free from the torment of not knowing, free from the anxiety of the unknown future. And let our descendants be blessed. Let the children coming after us inherit a clear path because we sought you for direction in the night watches.
And Lord, I pray over the purpose of this family, not just the path of tomorrow, but the destiny of this household. The scripture says, "There are many plans in a man's heart. Nevertheless, the Lord's counsel that will stand." Father, let your counsel stand in my family. Where we have made plans that are smaller than your purpose, enlarge our vision. Where we have made plans that are outside your purpose, redirect us gently. We do not want our own plans to succeed if they are not your purpose. We want your purpose because your purpose is the only thing that will still be standing when everything else has passed away. I declare over my household that we will not miss our assignment. Every member of this family was created on purpose, for a purpose in this generation, for a reason. The scripture says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them prepared beforehand." That means the good works my family is meant to walk in were prepared before we ever arrived. They are waiting for us. So I ask you, Lord, lead each of us into the works you ordained for us. Do not let my spouse miss their assignment. Do not let my children miss theirs. Do not let me miss mine. Let this be a household that finishes its course and fulfills its purpose in this generation.
Lord, I also pray for guidance in the small daily things because guidance is not only for the mountaintop decisions. The scripture says, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." So direct the small steps of my family tomorrow. The route they take, the moment they leave, the thing they almost forgot, the conversation they were not expecting, the person they will pass. You are a God who is in the details, and I invite you into the details of my household's day. Nothing about my family is too small for your direction.
My friend, I want to put one more thing in your hands before we close this watch. And it is the surest source of guidance God ever gave us. The scripture says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Notice that it is a lamp to the feet, not a flood light over the whole valley. God rarely shows you the entire journey at once. He shows you enough light for the next step. And that is on purpose because a lamp at your feet keeps you walking close to the one holding it. So when you ask God for guidance and all you can see is the next step. Do not be discouraged. That is exactly how the lamp is designed to work. Take the step you can see and the next one will be lit when you get there.
Father, I thank you that your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. So I ask that you would make my household a family that walks by that lamp. Give us a hunger for your word. Let us not try to navigate this season by feelings, by opinions, by the noise of the culture, but by what you have said. The scripture says, "For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword." So let your word be alive in my home, cutting through confusion, exposing lies, and lighting the next step for every one of us. Where my family does not know what to do, lead us back to what you have already said.
And Lord, teach my household to be still enough to hear you. The scripture says, "Be still and know that I am God." So much of our missed guidance is simply missed because we never get quiet. Our days are full of noise and even our nights are full of worry. So I pray that you would build into my family the discipline of stillness. Teach my children to be still before you. Teach my spouse to find the quiet place with you. And teach me, Lord, even in this very watch, to stop talking long enough to listen. "Speak, Lord, for your servant hears." That is the posture I want for my whole household. Not just a family that talks to you, but a family that hears you.
Father, I pray now over the specific decisions facing the people I love. For my spouse where they stand at a crossroad in their work, their health, their calling, I ask you to direct their steps and confirm the way with peace. For my children, I pray over the doors in front of them, the schools, the friendships, the paths they are choosing for their lives. The scripture says, "Train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old, he will not depart from it." So I ask you to make plain to each of my children the way they should go, the way you designed for them, the way that fits the calling you placed in them before they were born. Let them not waste years wandering down roads that were never theirs. Order their steps early, Lord, and let them walk in their purpose.
And I pray over my own leadership of this household. Being the watchman means being the one who often has to decide which way the family turns. That is a weight, Lord, and I feel it in this hour. So I ask for wisdom to lead well. The scripture says, "And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men." So let me lead this family as unto you. Let me make decisions I will not have to apologize for later. Where I have led my family in a wrong direction in the past. I ask you to redeem it to straighten the path again to bring good even out of my missteps. The scripture says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose." So I trust you to work even my imperfect leadership together for the good of this household.
Lord, I pray for protection in the unseen places of guidance. The deceptions, the counterfeits, the wrong open doors. Not every open door is from God. The enemy can open a door too and make it look like an opportunity when it is really a trap. So I ask you for the discernment to tell the difference. The scripture says, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God." So give my family that discernment. Let us test the spirits. Let us test the doors. Let us not run through every opening just because it is open, but walk only through the doors you have ordained and close, Lord, with your own hand every door that looks good but would lead my family into harm. I would rather have a door
Shut by you than a door opened by the enemy. And Father, I pray for endurance in the waiting because sometimes guidance does not feel like a green light. Sometimes it feels like a long red light and the waiting is its own kind of test.
The scripture says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." So where my family is in a season of waiting on you, I ask that the waiting itself would renew us, not drain us. Let us mount up. Let us run and not be weary. Let us walk and not faint. And let us trust that your delays are not your denials. The right step at the wrong time is still the wrong step. So hold us, Lord, until the timing is yours.
I declare over my household tonight that we are a guided family. We are not a wandering family. We are not a confused family. We are not a family stumbling in the dark hoping to find the way. We are a family whose steps are ordered by the Lord. We have a lamp to our feet. We have a voice behind us saying, "This is the way." We have a shepherd who goes before us. And we have a father who has promised to direct our paths.
So I refuse fear about the future. I refuse anxiety about the decisions ahead. I refuse the panic that visits in these early hours. The God who has guided us this far is not going to abandon the journey now. The scripture says, "For this is God our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to death." Even to death. That means there is no season ahead, no decision ahead, no crossroad ahead where God stops being the guide. Wherever the road of my family goes, he goes with us as the guide. And that is enough. That is more than enough.
Father, I thank you that you are the one who goes before. The scripture says, "And the Lord, he is the one who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed." So I will not fear and I will not be dismayed. You go before my household into tomorrow and into this whole season. You are with us in it. You will not fail us. You will not forsake us. I commit every step of this family into your ordering hands. And I trust you to direct our paths. In the mighty name of Jesus, our steps are ordered, our going out and our coming in are preserved, and our season is in your hands. Amen.
My friend, of all the hours to pray about provision, the morning watch may be the most honest one. Because the worry about money does not usually visit you at noon when you are busy. It visits you here in the dark, in the quiet, when the bills are doing the math in your head and you cannot make it come out right. If that is part of why you are awake tonight, I want you to know you are in the right place at the right hour. Because the same God who is the keeper of your household is also the provider for your household. And tonight we are going to take the worry that woke you and turn it into a watch that moves heaven.
Let me anchor you in who God is before we ask him for anything. One of the oldest names of God in all of scripture is the name revealed on a mountain when a father and son climbed up with wood and fire but no offering. And the son asked the question, "Where is the lamb?" And the father said, "My son, God will provide for himself the lamb." And when God did provide, that place got a name. Jehovah Gyra, the Lord will provide. My friend, that is not a slogan. That is a name. It is who God is. He does not merely have provision to give. He is the provider. And a God who is the provider does not run dry.
Now hear the promise that the early believers leaned their whole lives on. The scripture says, "And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Look closely at every word of that. My God personal shall supply, not might, not could, shall all your need, not some, not the small ones only, all. And then the measure according to his riches in glory, not according to your bank account, not according to the economy, not according to what you can see in your situation tonight. According to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus, my friend, your provision is not tied to your circumstances. It is tied to his riches. And his riches in glory have no bottom.
I need to say something to settle your heart because the enemy lies to people about money more than almost anything else. He tells you that God is reluctant to provide for you. He tells you that you have to twist God's arm, that provision is a tug of war, but hear the words of Jesus himself. He said, "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. It is your father's good pleasure. He is not stingy. He is not reluctant. It pleases him to provide for his children. So tonight, we do not come to a tight-fisted God begging for scraps. We come to a father whose good pleasure it is to give.
But I want to teach you something that will change how you pray for provision. And it comes from the life of a man named Isaac. There was a famine in the land. A real one. the kind of famine that makes a reasonable man pack up and leave. And in fact, his father before him had left during a famine, but the scripture says God told Isaac to stay. And in the middle of that famine, Isaac did something that made no sense to the natural mind. The scripture says, "Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundfold, and the Lord blessed him." He sowed in a famine. When everyone else was only consuming, he planted. And in the same year, in the same famine, he reaped a hundfold. My friend, do you understand what that means for you? It means that lack is not the end of the story. It means that the famine season is not a sewing prohibited season. It means that even when your resources are low, you are not powerless because you can still be a sewer. Isaac did not wait for the famine to end before he obeyed. He swed in the famine and the harvest came in the famine. So whatever your situation looks like tonight, you are not stuck. You are a swer in the hand of God and God can give you a hundfold in the very same season the lack is happening.
So let us pray. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I come to you tonight as the watchman over the provision of my household. And I come to you by the name Jehovah Gyra, the Lord who provides. I thank you that you are not merely a God who has provision. You are the provider. And I thank you that it is your good pleasure to give to your children. So I am not begging tonight. I am asking a good father with confidence because you invited me to.
Lord, I bring the financial need of my household before you honestly. You already know the numbers. You know what is coming in and what is going out. You know the bill that is due, the gap that needs to be closed, the pressure that has been sitting on this family. I am not going to hide it or minimize it on this wall. I bring it all into the light before you. and I stand on your word that says, "My God shall supply all my need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus." So I declare it. My need is supplied not by my employer alone, not by my own striving alone, by your riches in glory. And your riches have no shortage.
Father, I repent of the fear I have let money produce in me. I repent of the nights I lay awake doing the math instead of doing business with you. I repent of treating my paycheck as my source instead of treating you as my source. Tonight I set that right. You are my source. The job is a stream but you are the river. The income is a channel but you are the spring and you are not limited to one channel. The scripture says, "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things may have an abundance for every good work." All grace, all sufficiency, all things. So I receive that tonight for my household.
Lord, I pray over the work of my hands and the work of every hand in this household. The scripture says, "And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands for us." Yes, establish the work of our hands. So I ask you, establish the work of our hands. Where my family labors, let the labor not be in vain. Where there has been effort without reward, turn it around. Let our work be fruitful. Let it be favored. Let it be recognized and establish it Lord twice over the way the psalmist asked twice because some things need to be settled and then settled again.
Father I pray over the jobs in this household over the place where my income comes from and over the places where my loved ones earn. Protect those jobs Lord where they are meant to remain and where a job is meant to change. where a door is meant to close so a better one can open. Give us the grace to not cling to what you are finishing. I pray for promotion that is from you. The scripture says, "For exaltation comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge. He puts down one and exalts another." So I am not looking to the east or the west for my increase. I am looking to you, the one who sets up and lifts up. Set my household up, Lord, in your timing and by your hand.
And Lord, I pray for favor, real favor, the kind that opens what effort alone cannot open. The scripture says, "For you, oh Lord, will bless the righteous. With favor you will surround him as with a shield, favor as a shield surrounding going before." So I ask you to surround my household with favor as with a shield. Favor with employers, favor with the people who make decisions over our lives, favor in rooms we will never be in where our names will be mentioned. Favor on applications, on interviews, on proposals, on opportunities. Let my family walk in the favor that makes a way where there was no way.
Father, now I want to deal with debt because debt is a weight that the enemy uses to keep a household bowed down. The scripture says, "The rich rules over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender." Lord, I do not want my family to live as servants to lenders. I want my household free. So tonight I bring every debt before you. The balances that feel like they will never move. The interest that grows while we sleep. The obligations that have followed this family for years. I ask you, Father, for a strategy and for a supernatural acceleration. Show us the wisdom to manage what we have and send the increase that closes the gap faster than the math allows.
The scripture tells of a time when the people were in such debt that the year of release was declared and every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it. Lord, I am asking for releases over my household. I am asking for debts to be cancelled, lowered, forgiven, restructured, and paid off ahead of schedule. I declare that my family is coming out of bondage to the lender. The scripture says, "Oweow no one anything except to love one another." So I set that as the goal and I ask you to bring my household into that freedom. Let us be lenders and not borrowers. Let us be a household that has enough and overflow so that we can be a blessing instead of always being in need.
And father, I pray over open doors because provision is not only about money in hand. It is about access. It is about opportunity. The scripture records the words of the Lord to the church at Philadelphia. "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it. For you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name." Lord, I love that this open door was given to a church with only a little strength. They were not the strong ones. They were the faithful ones, and to the faithful with a little strength. You said, "I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it." So I ask you tonight, Father, set before my household an open door that no one can shut. An open door for income, an open door for the right work. An open door for the idea, the business, the assignment, the breakthrough that has been waiting on the other side of a wall my family could not get past. And let it be a door no one can shut. Not a door propped open by my own effort that someone else could close. A door you open that stays open because what God opens, no one can shut.
And Lord, give us the courage to walk through it. Sometimes the door is open and the family is too afraid to walk. So remove the fear. The scripture says, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape that you may be able to bear it." You are a God who makes a way. So make the way plain and make us bold enough to walk it.
Father, I also want to pray about sewing the way Isaac swed in the famine because I do not want my household to only be a household that receives. I want us to be a household that gives. The scripture says, "Give and it will be given to you. Good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." So I ask you to make my family generous even in lack. Give us the faith of Isaac to sew in the famine. And as we sow, Lord, bring the hundfold you promised, not so we can hoard it, but so we can keep sowing and keep blessing. The scripture also says, "He who sws sparingly will also reap sparingly. And he who sws bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity. For God loves a cheerful giver." So I pray for a cheerful, faithfilled heart over my household when it comes to giving. Let us not be a fearful, tight-fisted family. Let us be a sewing family, a giving family. a family that has discovered that the way out of lack is not to grip tighter, but to open the hand and trust the God of the harvest.
And Lord, I pray that you would rebuke the devourer for our sakes. The scripture says, "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field, says the Lord of Hosts." So I ask you, rebuke the devourer over my household. The unexpected expense that eats the breakthrough, the repair, the emergency, the leak that drains the provision before it can do its work. I bind the devourer in the name of Jesus. And I ask you to be the one who rebukes him for our sakes so that the fruit of our labor is not destroyed and the harvest is not cast before its time.
Father, I pray over the future provision of my children. Not just our needs today, but the inheritance we leave. The scripture says, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children." So I declare that my household will be a household that leaves an inheritance. We will break the cycle of lack that may have followed this family. We will build something that outlasts us. We will be the generation that decided on a wall at 3:00 in the morning that poverty would not pass down any further through this bloodline.
And Lord, even in the praying for provision, I do not want my heart to be set on the provision instead of the provider. The scripture says, "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life." And Jesus said, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." So I set the order right tonight. I seek you first, Father. I seek your kingdom first. I seek your righteousness first. And I trust your promise that all these things, the provision, the supply, the open doors will be added. I will not let the gift become bigger in my heart than the giver.
Father, there is one promise about provision where you did something you rarely do. You invited your people to test you. The scripture says, "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in my house and try me now in this, says the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it." Lord, you said try me. So tonight I take you at your word. I ask you to open the windows of heaven over my household, not a crack, the windows opened wide, and pour out a blessing so full that there is not room enough to receive it. Let my household be a household that honors you with its first and its best. And let us live under open windows because of it.
And Lord, I have to deal with something deeper than the bank balance tonight. I have to deal with the mindset because the enemy does not only attack the provision. He attacks the way a household thinks about provision. He plants a spirit of lack, a poverty mindset, a way of seeing the world that always expects the shortage, always braces for the loss, always assumes there will not be enough. That mindset can keep a family poor even when provision is right in front of them. So tonight, I renounce it in the name of Jesus. I renounce the spirit of lack over my household. I renounce the poverty mindset. I renounce the fearddriven thinking that has shaped how this family handles money. And I ask you, Father, to renew our minds. The scripture says, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." So renew the mind of my household when it comes to provision. Teach us to think like children of a king who owns the cattle upon a thousand hills. Teach us to expect your goodness instead of bracing for the worst. The scripture says, "I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." So let us believe to see your goodness, Lord, here now in the land of the living. Not just Sunday in heaven.
Father, I also break in the name of Jesus every generational pattern of lack that has followed my bloodline. If poverty has been a repeating story in my family line, I declare tonight that the story is being rewritten. I am a child of God, an heir of God, and joint heir with Christ. The scripture says, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor that you through his poverty might become rich." He became poor so that my household could be rich in every way that matters. So I refuse to wear a poverty that Jesus already carried to the cross. The cycle is broken. The inheritance is changed. Abundance, not lack, is the new pattern of this family line.
My friend, let me show you one more picture of provision and it is a small one which is exactly the point. There was a day when a great crowd had followed Jesus to a remote place and evening was coming and there was no food. The disciples did the math the way you do the math in the night and the math said it was impossible. But there was a boy in the crowd. And the scripture says, "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are they among so many?" Five loaves and two fish, a child's lunch. And the question hanging in the air was, "What are they among so many?" But Jesus took the little that was offered, and he gave thanks, and he broke it, and he distributed it. And the scripture says they all ate and were filled. And afterward they took up 12 baskets full of the fragments that remained.
Do you see it, my friend? The miracle did not begin with abundance. It began with a small thing placed in the hands of Jesus. The boy did not have enough, but he had something, and he gave the something, and the something became more than enough with leftovers. So do not despise the little you have tonight. Do not look at your five loaves and two fish and say, "What is this among so many?" Put it in his hands. The God who multiplied a child's lunch into a feast for thousands can multiply whatever your household places in his hands tonight.
Father, I bring my five loaves and two fish to you. I bring the little that is in my hand. I bring my small income, my limited resources, my not enough. And I do what that boy did. I place it in the hands of Jesus. I ask you to take it, to give thanks over it, to break it, and to multiply it until my household has eaten and been filled, and there are fragments left over. The scripture says with you, "A little becomes much." So multiply the little, Lord. Multiply the paycheck, multiply the savings, multiply the effort, multiply the seed, and let there be leftovers in my house so that lack turns to enough and enough turns to overflow.
And Lord, I thank you that you are a God of leftovers. The 12 baskets that remained were not an accident. You provide not just to the edge of the need but past it so that there is something to carry into tomorrow. So I ask not only for my need to be met but for margin for a little extra for the cushion that lets a household breathe. Bring my family out of the place of just barely and into the place of more than enough in the name of Jesus.
Father, I pray now over the specific work of tomorrow and the season of work ahead. For my own labor, give me strength to do it well and favor as I do it. For my spouse's labor, let it be established and rewarded. For my children, as they study and work and prepare for their futures, let their effort bear fruit. The scripture says, "Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings. He will not stand before unknown men." So I declare my household a diligent household. And I ask you to bring our diligence before kings, before the people of influence who can open the next door.
And Lord, I pray over the ideas, the businesses, the ventures, the dreams that are in my household, the thing my family has been afraid to start. The skill that has been sitting unused, the idea that keeps coming back, father, breathe on it. The scripture says, "And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant." You give the power to get wealth. So I ask for that power, that ability, that anointing on the work of my household, not for greed, but so that your covenant would be established through my family.
Father, I also pray over the management of what you provide. Because provision without wisdom leaks away, so give my household wisdom to steward well. The scripture says, "There is desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it." Make us wise dwellers, Lord. Teach us to save, to plan, to give, to spend with discernment. Let nothing you provide be wasted. And where my family has been foolish with provision in the past, forgive us, teach us, and let this be the season we learn to steward like the wise.
And Lord, while I pray boldly for increase, I also pray for contentment because the two must walk together. The scripture says, "Now godliness with contentment is great gain." And the apostle wrote, "I have learned in whatever state I am to be content." So even as I ask you for more, I thank you for what is already in my hand. I will not despise the day of small things. I will not let the waiting for increase steal the gratitude for what I already have. Make my household a thankful household, content in you and yet still believing you for the breakthrough.
I want to declare some things over the provision of my household and I want you to declare them with me my friend. We declare that the Lord is our shepherd and we shall not want. We declare that we shall not beg for the scripture says I have been young and now am old. Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his descendants begging bread. We declare that the blessing of the Lord makes one rich and he adds no sorrow with it. We declare that we serve a God who daily loads us with benefits. We declare that our barns will be filled with plenty because we honor the Lord with our possessions. We declare open doors no man can shut, closed doors no man can open, supply that runs ahead of the need, and a household that is blessed to be a blessing.
My friend, I want you to hear something before we close this part of the watch. Provision is not just survival. Provision is so that you can fulfill purpose. God does not bless a household so it can simply exist. He blesses a household so it can be a blessing. The scripture says of Abraham, "I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing." Blessed to be a blessing. So when you pray for provision, you are not being selfish. You are asking God to resource an assignment. You are asking him to fund a calling. You are asking him to supply a household that he intends to use.
Father, I receive your provision tonight by faith, not by sight. The scripture says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." So even though my eyes have not yet seen the full answer, I have the substance of it by faith right now. I thank you for it as though it is already done. I declare my household supplied. I declare my household favored. I declare the doors opening that no man can shut. I declare the debt-breaking and the devourer rebuked. I declare a sewing family reaping a hundfold. And I declare that Jehovah Gyra, the Lord who provides, is the God of this house. In the mighty name of Jesus, our provision is settled. Amen.
My friend, we come now to one of the most powerful movements of the morning watch. Because there are some things that do not bow to a polite daytime hurried prayer. There are strongholds that have stood for years. There are sicknesses that have settled in. There are assignments against your family that the enemy thought no one would ever notice because he carries them out in the dark while everyone sleeps. But you are awake. And the watchman who is awake in the night is the watchman who catches what was meant to go unseen.
Let me settle something first because everything in this part of the watch depends on it. You are not praying tonight as a beggar hoping the enemy might be kind. You are praying as one who has been given authority. The Lord Jesus said to his followers, "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Authority to trample over all the power of the enemy. Not some of it, all of it. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. My friend, that is not a verse for spiritual giants. That is a verse for every believer who will take Jesus at his word. Tonight, you stand on that and hear how the apostle described the watchman's weapons.
The scripture says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God, for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." Look at the language, the pulling down of strongholds, casting down, bringing into captivity. These are not gentle passive words. These are demolition words. The weapons God has given you are not the weapons of the flesh. And that is exactly why they work. You are not going to outar argue the enemy or out muscle him. You are going to use weapons that are mighty through God. And those weapons pull down what has stood for years.
What is a stronghold? A stronghold is anything that has built itself into a fortified position in a life. It can be a pattern of sin. It can be a way of thinking. It can be a fear that has become a fortress. It can be a sickness that has dug in. It can be an oppression over a household that everyone has just learned to live with. The reason the apostle calls it a stronghold is that it holds on strongly. It does not leave because you are tired of it. It leaves because it is pulled down by weapons that are mighty through God. And tonight, my friend, on this wall, we are bringing those weapons to bear.
But before we pull anything down, let me remind you of the ground you stand on. The reason you have authority is not your strength. It is the cross. The scripture says of Jesus, "Having disarmed principalities and powers, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." He already disarmed them. He already triumphed. So, you are not fighting for victory tonight. You are enforcing a victory that was already won 2,000 years ago. The enemy is not an equal opponent. He is a defeated one. And the watchman's job is simply to stand on the finished work of Christ and refuse to let a defeated enemy act like he still has rights he lost at the cross.
So let us pray and let us pray with the authority that belongs to a child of God. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I come to this part of the watch standing on the finished work of the cross. I thank you that Jesus already disarmed principalities and powers already triumph over them openly. So I do not come tonight to win a battle. I come to enforce a victory that is already won. And I take up the weapons that are not carnal but mighty through you to the pulling down of strongholds over my household.
First Lord, I submit myself fully to you because the order matters. The scripture says, "Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. I do not skip the submitting and jump to the resisting." So I submit every part of me, every area of my life, every corner of my household, I submitted to you, Lord. And now from that place of submission, I resist the devil. And I stand on your promise that when I resist him, he will flee. Not negotiate, not linger. Flee.
Father, I take the whole armor of God tonight, the way the scripture instructs. Put upon me, Lord, the whole armor of God that I may be able to stand against the ws of the devil. I have my waist girded with truth. I have put on the breastplate of righteousness. I have shaw my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, I take the shield of faith with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. I take the helmet of salvation guarding my mind. And I take the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. I am not standing this watch unarmed. I am clothed headtofoot in the armor of God and so is my household.
Now Lord, I want to deal with the strongholds and I name them because the scripture says we are to cast down every high thing that exaltth itself against the knowledge of God. So I name the high things tonight. Every stronghold of fear over my household, I pull it down in the name of Jesus. Fear has built a fortress in this family long enough. The scripture says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." So fear has no legal right here, and I evict it. I pull down the stronghold of fear.
Every stronghold of anxiety and torment that visits my household in the night, I pull it down in the name of Jesus. Every stronghold of depression and heaviness that has tried to settle over a member of my family, I pull it down. The scripture promises the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. So I exchange them tonight. I take the spirit of heaviness off my household and I put on the garment of praise.
I pull down the stronghold of addiction. every chain of dependence on a substance, a habit, a behavior that has bound someone I love. The scripture says, "Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." So I declare my household free and not entangled.
Every stronghold of shame that whispers to my loved ones that they are too far gone, I pull it down in the name of Jesus. Every stronghold of generational sin that has tried to repeat itself through my bloodline, I pull it down. Every stronghold of strife and division that has tried to tear at the relationships in my home, I pull it down. Every stronghold of confusion, of double-mindedness, of spiritual fog, I pull it down. I am using weapons that are mighty through God. And these strongholds cannot stand against the weapons of God.
And father, I cancel every assignment of the enemy against my household. The scripture says that the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. So I stand against every assignment to steal from my family. Every assignment to kill, every assignment to destroy. I cancel the assignment against my marriage. I cancel the assignment against my children. I cancel the assignment against my health, my finances, my peace, my purpose. The scripture says, "For there is no sorcery against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel." So I declare it. There is no sorcery that can stand against my household and no divination that can prosper against my family because we belong to the Lord.
Every word curse spoken over my family. Whether by others or carelessly by ourselves, I break it in the name of Jesus. The scripture says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." So I cancel the power of every death word ever spoken over this household and I replace it with life. Every negative pronouncement, every prophecy of failure, every label of cursed or hopeless or finished, I overrule it tonight with the word of God, which says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn." So I condemn every tongue that has risen against my family in judgment. The verdict of heaven over my household is blessing, not cursing.
My friend, let me show you a moment in scripture that proves how God fights for a household in the night. When the people of Israel were under threat, surrounded by an army that came in the night, there was a king named Assa who did something simple and powerful. The scripture says that Assa cried out to the Lord his God and said, "Lord, it is nothing for you to help, whether with many or with those who have no power. Help us, oh Lord our God, for we rest on you and in your name we go against this multitude, oh Lord, you are our God. Do not let man prevail against you." And the scripture says, "So the Lord struck the enemies before Assa." Assa did not have the bigger army. He had the bigger god. And he said something I want you to hold on to. It is nothing with you, Lord, to help. Whether the odds are good or impossible, it is nothing with you to help.
Father, like Asa, I rest on you tonight. It is nothing for you to help my household. Whether the thing we face is small or whether it is a multitude, we have no power of our own against what comes in the night. But in your name, we go against it. Do not let the enemy prevail against you, Lord, by prevailing against the family that belongs to you. Strike the assignment before us the way you struck the enemies before Asa.
We rest on you now. My friend, we turn the watch toward healing because warfare and healing belong together. Often the thing that needs to be pulled down is a sickness and often the thing that needs to be healed is a wound, the warfare exposed. So we move from pulling down to restoring, from casting out to making whole. Hear what the scripture says about the healing Jesus purchased.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him. And by his stripes we are healed." By his stripes we are healed. That healing is not a maybe. It was purchased. It was paid for on the same cross that paid for sin. So when we pray for healing tonight, we are not asking God to do something he is reluctant to do. We are asking him to release what Jesus already bought.
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I pray healing over the body of every person in my household. You know the diagnosis. You know the symptom that will not leave. You know the pain that someone I love wakes up with and goes to sleep with. You know the report that the doctors gave, the report that has been hanging over this family. And I bring it to you the God who heals all our diseases. The scripture says, "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases." So I do not forget that benefit tonight. Healing is one of your benefits, and I lay claim to it for my household.
I speak to the body of my loved one right now in the name of Jesus. I speak to the sickness and I command it to bow to the name that is above every name. The scripture says that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. So every knee in the body bows. The disease bows. The pain bows. The infection bows. The disorder bows. I declare that what Jesus purchased with his stripes is released over my household. By his stripes we are healed. Not we will be. We are.
And father I pray for the healing that no scan can see. The healing of the soul. Because some of the people I love are not sick in their body. They are wounded in their inner being. There is grief that has not lifted. There is a memory that still cuts. There is a trauma that still wakes them. There is a heart that has quietly broken and has been carrying the pieces for a long time. Lord, the scripture says he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. So I ask you to do that very work tonight. Heal the broken heart in my household. Bind up the wounds that no one else can see. Go to the place the hurt began and bring your healing presence there. The scripture says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit." So for every broken heart under this roof, I declare that the Lord is near, not far, not slow, nigh, close, present. And I ask you, Lord, to give the peace that passes all understanding to every troubled mind in my home. The scripture says, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you." So I pray perfect peace over the anxious minds in my household. I pray rest over the racing thoughts. I pray quietness over the inner being of every person I love.
Father, I pray now for the deeper deliverance, for the chains that the body and the mind cannot break on their own. The scripture says, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." And Jesus said, "Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." So I ask you Lord for freedom indeed over my household. Not managed bondage, not bondage we have learned to live with. Freedom indeed for every member of my family who is bound by something they cannot name by an oppression that follows them by a weight that lifts for a season and then returns. I ask you to set them free indeed.
In the name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over every member of my household tonight. The scripture says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony." So I overcome by the blood. I cover my spouse with the blood of Jesus. I cover each of my children with the blood of Jesus. I cover my home, my bloodline, my mind, my body with the blood of Jesus. The blood that speaks better things. The blood that cleanses. The blood that protects. The blood that the enemy cannot cross. Where the blood is applied. The destroyer has no entry.
And Father, I pray specifically over the mind. Because the mind is the battlefield where so much of this war is fought. The enemy works in imaginations, in thoughts, in the things that loop in the night. The scripture says we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. So tonight I take captive the thoughts in my household. Every thought of fear, I take it captive. Every thought of hopelessness, I take it captive. Every lie that has been playing on repeat in the mind of someone I love, I take it captive and I make it bow to the obedience of Christ. The scripture says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." So I declare a sound mind over every person in this house, a mind at peace, a mind set free, a mind renewed.
I pray, Lord, that you would silence the accusing voice. The scripture calls the enemy the accuser of our brethren who accused them before our God day and night. Day and night he accuses. And many of the people I love wake in the night to the sound of accusation, telling them they are not enough. They are too far gone. They have failed beyond repair. So I silence that voice in the name of Jesus. The scripture says, "Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns?" So I declare over my household that there is no charge that can stand against us because God himself has justified us and the one who could condemn us chose instead to die for us.
Father, I pray healing over the wounds that came from people because some of the deepest sickness in a family is relational. There are members of my household carrying the wound of a betrayal. The wound of an absent parent. The wound of a harsh word that landed years ago and never left. Lord, you are the God who heals that too. The scripture says he sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. So send your word into those wounded places. Heal the wound of rejection. Heal the wound of abandonment. Heal the wound of words. Where a person hurt my loved one and never came back to make it right. You come, Lord. You make it right in their heart, even if it is never made right on earth. And I pray for the healing of memory. There are things in the past of the people I love that still have power over their present. A memory that visits in the night. A scene that replays. A day they wish they could forget. Lord, I cannot erase their memories. But you can heal them. The scripture says, "Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead." So I ask you to take the sting out of what is behind. Let the memory lose its grip. Let the past stop dictating the present. Let my loved ones be able to look back without bleeding and look forward with hope.
Father, I pray restoration over everything the enemy has stolen from my household. The scripture says, "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the years, Lord, not just the
things, the years, the seasons that were lost to sickness, the time that was eaten by addiction, the relationships that were damaged, the opportunities that slipped away during the hard years. I ask you to be the God of restoration over my family. Restore the years the swarming locust has eaten. Give back in your mercy what the enemy meant to take forever. The scripture says he restores my soul. So restore the souls of my household, Lord, all the way down to the places that have been depleted for too long.
My friend, let me teach you something about persistence, because some of what you are warring over tonight will not break on the first prayer, and the enemy will use that to discourage you. Jesus told of a man who went to his friend at midnight, in the very hours you are awake right now, and knocked and asked for bread. And at first, the friend inside said, "No, the door is shut. The children are in bed." But Jesus said, "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will rise and give him as many as he needs." Persistence, that is the word for refusing to quit. And then Jesus said, "So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be open to you."
Now hear me carefully, because the parable is not saying God is reluctant like that sleeping neighbor. It is saying the opposite. If even a reluctant neighbor will answer persistence, how much more will a loving father answer the persistent cry of his own child? So the lesson is not to wear God down. The lesson is to not quit. If the stronghold did not break tonight, you knock again tomorrow night. If the healing has not fully come, you keep asking. The watchman who keeps knocking is the watchman who eventually hears the door open.
Father, give my household the spirit of persistence. Give us the kind of faith that knocks and keeps knocking, that asks and keeps asking, that seeks and keeps seeking. We will not be the family that gives up one prayer before the breakthrough. The scripture says men always ought to pray and not lose heart. So we will not lose heart. We will keep coming to this wall night after night until what we are believing for is fully in our hands. And Lord, I keep praying for the healing because I will not knock once and walk away. I pray again over the bodies in my household that carry sickness. I declare life over them.
The scripture says, "But if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you." So I declare that the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in the mortal bodies of my family, giving them life, reviving them, restoring them. Let resurrection life flow into every weary place, every failing system, every place the doctors said would not improve.
I pray over the treatments and the hands of the physicians. Guide them, Lord. Let the right diagnosis be found. Let the right treatment be given. Let nothing be missed. And add to it the touch that only you can give. The touch that goes beyond what medicine can reach. Where medicine has reached its limit, Lord, I ask you to begin exactly where it ends. Vision play zenzu and sudtor the shoe of doples and sudarations estued the shrewd arenoid.
And I pray over the caregivers in my household, the ones who carry the weight of someone else's sickness. They are tired, Lord, in a way that sleep does not fix. So I pray strength for them. The scripture says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength." So renew the strength of the caregivers in my family. Let them not grow weary in doing good. Hold them up even as they hold others up.
My friend, I want to remind you of something about the hour you are in. Remember the disciples in the storm. It was in the fourth watch of the night, the very hour you are in, that Jesus came walking on the water toward them. The night had done its worst. They had rowed and rowed and gotten nowhere. And then in the fourth watch, he came. So if you are in a long fight tonight, if the strongholds feel like they have stood too long, if the sickness has lingered, if the deliverance has been slow and coming, hold on. The fourth watch is the breaking point. The fourth watch is when he comes walking. You are not praying in a hopeless hour. You are praying in the very hour that the scripture marks as the hour of his arrival.
Father, I thank you that you are a fourth watch God. You come when the night has done its worst. So I will not grow weary in this part of the watch. I will keep standing. I will keep declaring. I will keep pulling down what needs to come down and calling forth what needs to be healed, because I know that in the fourth watch, you come walking. Come walking toward my household tonight, Lord. Come walking across whatever storm we are in. And let your first words to my family be the same words you spoke to those frightened men: "Be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid."
Now, my friend, I want you to do something. I want you to name the one thing. Every household has one. The one stronghold, the one sickness, the one assignment, the one chain that you most need broken tonight. I have prayed in general, but you know the specific. So, take a moment now on the wall and bring that one thing to the Father in your own words. Use the authority He gave you. Speak to it. Pull it down. Call for the healing. Do it now.
Father, I thank you for hearing that. The thing I just named in my own words. You heard it, and heaven moved when I said it. The scripture says, "Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." So even beyond what I had words for, you are able to do exceedingly abundantly above it. I trust you with the one thing. I have done my part as the watchman. I have pulled it down. Now I trust you to finish what I have started in prayer.
I want to declare some things over my household before we close this part of the watch. And my friend, declare them with me. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper. We declare that with the stripes of Jesus, we are healed. We declare that the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world. We declare that we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. We declare that every stronghold is pulled down, every assignment is canceled, every chain is broken, and every wound is being healed by the hand of God. We declare that the gates of Hades shall not prevail against this household. We declare that we overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony. And we declare that what God has set free is free indeed.
My friend, the night is beginning to thin now. Somewhere out beyond your window, the dark is loosening its hold, and the first gray of morning is not far off. You have stood the watch. You came clean. You were consecrated. You covered your family. You ordered the steps of the day. You stood for provision. You pulled down strongholds and called for healing. And now we seal it. The watchman does not just walk off the wall when the sun comes up. He seals the watch. He gives thanks. And he is sent. So let us seal it.
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I thank you for this watch. Thank you for waking me. Thank you that what felt at first like sleeplessness was really an invitation. Thank you for every word prayed, every name lifted, every promise stood upon. The scripture says, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." So I give thanks now, not for what I can see yet, but because I trust the one I have been talking to all night. The prayers are not lost. The scripture says, "They rise before you like incense. Every one of them is kept." I seal this watch over my household. I declare that what was prayed here will stand. The cleansing stands. The covering over my spouse and my children stands. The hedge around this home stands. The ordered steps stand. The open doors stand. The healing stands. The strongholds stay down. The assignments stay canceled. I am not undoing in worry tomorrow what I built in faith tonight. It is sealed in the name of Jesus.
And now, my friend, receive the blessing. This is the oldest blessing in the scriptures. The words God himself gave to be spoken over his people. Receive it over yourself and over everyone still sleeping in your home. "The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Receive that, my friend. The Lord bless you. The Lord keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you, which means he has not turned away from you. He has turned toward you, looking on you with favor. The Lord be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Let that blessing rest on your head like a hand. Let it rest on your spouse. Let it rest on each of your children. Let it fill every room of your home as the morning comes.
Now you are sent. The watch is ending, but the covering is not. The scripture says, "The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore." So when the sun comes up and your household begins to stir, you do not step into the day alone, and they do not either. You step into a day that has already been prayed over. You go as one who has been with God in the watch, and it will show. And do not be surprised, my friend, if you carry something out of this hour that the day cannot take from you. A steadiness, a quiet confidence, a peace that does not match your circumstances. That is the fruit of the watch. The scripture says, "And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Carry that peace into the morning.
So go now in the strength of this watch. Go and rest a little if there is time, or go straight into the day if there is not. But either way, go covered. The watchman has stood. The household is sealed. The God who never slumbers is awake over every person you love. And he will be awake over them long after you have stopped praying.
Father, I commit this household into your hands. As the morning comes, keep what I have committed to you. The scripture says, "You are able to keep what I have committed to you until that day." So keep it, Lord. Every name, every need, every prayer. We give you all the honor and all the praise. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Thank you for hearing the watchmen tonight. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
And my friend, before you go, hear this. What you did tonight was not small and it was not wasted. Even if nothing in your house looks different yet when the sun comes up, the watchman rarely sees the danger he turned away because it never arrived. He only knows the morning came and his household is safe. So do not measure this watch by how you feel. Measure it by the faithfulness of the God you prayed to. The scripture says, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. For he who promised is faithful." He is faithful. He heard. He is already at work in the rooms around you. And he will keep working long after you have laid this down. And if the Lord wakes you again tomorrow in these same hours, do not groan. Rise. The wall is still there, and so is the one who stands it with you. The scripture says his compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. New every morning. So every morning watches a fresh supply of mercy waiting for the watchmen who will get up and receive it. Yes, the watch is complete, my friend. To God be all the glory, honor, and praise. The morning has come. You stood guard and your household is covered. Now go in peace and let the God who never sleeps carry what you have carried all night in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Matthew 11:28-30, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. When thou walst through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
The scripture says in Psalms 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 10:27-29, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust. His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day, nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and 10,000 at thy right hand. But it shall not come nigh thee, because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most high, thy habitation. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling, for he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion, and Adder, the young lion, and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet, because he hath set his love upon me. Therefore will I deliver him. I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.
