Here's five things to ask your roofing contractor before you hire them.
Number one: Are you licensed and insured? This is the quickest way to vet your contractor.
Number two: Are you local or do you have a local office? This is so you can reach out to them in the future in case something happens.
Number three: Do you have your own crews or do you subcontract out all your work? This is important because if you need to figure out culpability in the future in case something happens, your contractor may have insurance, but your subcontractor may not, which would leave you high and dry.
Number four: This is another entrance one. Do you have full insurance for all your trucks and trailers that are on the job site, including coverage for any subcontractors? This is to ensure that if anything does happen, once again, you are covered.
Number five: How far out are you scheduling your jobs, and once you start, what is your timeline for completion? This helps ensure that proper expectations are set for both the homeowner and the contractor.
