So, you want to be intimidating? Well, you're in luck because I'm making this entire video dedicated to exactly how you can pull that off without saying a word. And before I get the comments that are like, "What do you know about being intimidating? This girl thinks she's intimidating." I think I know a thing or two.
Since I was literally born, even as a child, I've been told by most people that I meet that I'm intimidating. Even before I even knew what the word meant, people were telling me that. And while it was all unintentional as a child, I've learned how to embrace it and use it for my good. And as someone who's actually just born with it, I might as well teach you guys how you can do the same. Because there is a lot of benefits to being seen as the intimidating one. If you want to walk into a room and make people feel a little bit nervous or uneasy without saying a word, that's intimidation. And if you don't know these rules of power or rules of intimidation, if you will, then you will suffer at the hands of people who do understand these things for the rest of your life.
Hello, my name is Chrissy Dasvich. If you're new here, welcome to my channel. If you recognize me, welcome back. Today, I'm going to be teaching you the science and the art of becoming intimidating. And the best part about it is becoming intimidating doesn't require using your mouth. You don't have to speak. And by the end of this video, you will understand why being intimidating isn't mean, but it's actually necessary.
I like to just get right into it. So, section one is why is intimidation good? When people are intimidated by you, they automatically respect you a little bit more. When they respect you, they behave better around you. When they fear you a little bit, they never want to risk losing you or ticking you off or doing something behind your back. It's not about being mean and thinking you're better than everyone and keeping your head up high and being cruel, okay? It's about setting a tone that protects you from being underestimated, used, or disrespected.
The psychology about respect and being intimidated and first perceptions of other people is human beings know exactly how they feel about you within the first 7 seconds that they meet you. Within 7 seconds, they've sized you up and they've decided how they're going to treat you and what they think about you. And most the time in these first 7 seconds, you might not even be talking and it will still happen that way. That impression can either make you prey or it can make you untouchable. Intimidation will close the door to a lot of manipulators and bad people out there before they even get the chance. Being intimidating is like an armor. It protects you from a lot of things.
Getting into section two, which is the psychology behind intimidation. Being still is scarier than having a lot of movement. And what does this mean? The loudest person in the room is usually always the weakest. Stillness makes people nervous. If you're more quiet, it makes people nervous. Especially if they wronged you and you're quiet, it makes them wonder what's you thinking? What does she want to do? Or even if they didn't do anything to you and you're just a quiet, reserved person in general, people are going to see that that they're studying and they don't know anything about you. So it leaves their mind and their imagination to run wild and most of the time that will end up working in your favor. Being still and quiet and composed makes a lot of people nervous and they will start to project their insecurities onto you. They'll start showing you and telling you about who they are without you having to say anything because they automatically are nervous from you.
Eye contact is absolutely a weapon. Most people break eye contact with you because they're subconsciously yielding. I love holding eye contact just a little bit too long because it makes people a little bit intimidated because a lot of people aren't confident enough to hold eye contact at all. So holding eye contact with someone is a huge sign that you're confident and confidence intimidates people. It intimidates people and you want to be seen as the most confident person in the world. Okay, that's kind of what being intimidating is is it's putting on this armor in this front. And the best ways to do it is to be stiller, hold eye contact, and the next one is being silent.
I talked about this so much. And if you aren't new here, then you aren't new to me talking about how much silence can really help you. When you don't rush to respond to people, they reveal themselves. Okay, silence makes a lot of people nervous. We all we all know this. You know that awkward silence when people feel like they're sitting in an awkward silence like at a group gathering or a dinner, someone's willing to compromise on their own boundaries with themselves and they end up spilling something about themselves at the cost of their own boundaries just to fill that awkward silence. For example, it's they're so nervous because it's so quiet. What's the first thing that they can think of? They say it out loud just to fill the silence and they end up saying something stupid that they regret saying later. And in general, rushing to fill silence because you're intimidated by it is a huge sign of weakness. If you know how to use it, people will reveal themselves. They will expose themselves. People will explain too much. They'll overshare things. They try too hard because most people are people pleasers. But not even me, okay? We are not people pleasers. We don't care. We don't care. I'm the type of person where if it's awkwardly silent, I will sit in the silence with you. We can play the staring game. I love the silence. It doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. Silence will do a lot of the work for you. If you truly want to be intimidating, it does a lot of the work.
Another thing is pace. Okay, intimidating people don't rush anything. We think we're important. We're confident. We're not in a rush to do anything or go anywhere because then we're appealing to somebody else's plan or somebody else's validation when we're being rushed. Okay? Confident, intimidating people don't rush. We take our time. When you move slowly and don't appear like you're rushed, even if you are, even if you have to be somewhere, do it gracefully. This makes the biggest difference. I'm not on your timeline. You wait for me. That's intimidating. Okay? That's confidence. That's screaming you must be important or you you know something. Okay.
And the last thing is face neutrality. A blank face makes people panic. I have the worst RBF. Okay. But I have the best poker face and I've been working on it for years and years and years. You cannot beat my poker face and you need to start training yours if you don't have it already. A blank face, just a blank face makes people panic. they can't read you. So, they start imagining the worst. Like I said earlier, when you're quiet, when you're slow, when you're not rushing to things and you're not speaking all the time, people will start to imagine things. They let their imagination run wild and that usually makes them eventually their imagination leads to fear like most of us, right? So, you have all these things. Start using them. It's really just about the small little mannerisms like this that make the difference between are you an intimidating person or are you not or are you a weak people pleaser? It's really these small little things that make the biggest difference, especially within those first 7 seconds of human being meets human being and the sizing up happens. All of these things are so important.
Section three, how to build an intimidating aura. I love this one. Your clothes and your wardrobe need to be your armor. Okay? Every day when you get dressed, you need to think of it as your armor. Clothing that signals composure, sharpness, and refusal to blend in because you're not a people pleaser. You don't care about trends. You don't care about being fitting in at high school. Okay? You don't care about that. You are intimidating. You lead the way. People make time for you. You wear what you want. A really easy way to do this is to wear luxury items because a lot of people when they think that you are wealthy or have nice things are automatically intimidated by you because a lot of people don't and they assume that when you do have those things, oh, you must know what you're doing. Oh, you must have a really good job. Oh, you must know really important people. Whatever they want to think and it automatically makes them respect you a little bit and fear you just a tiny bit. And it's that little shred of fear, okay, that makes you intimidating. Not in a fear, not fear in a way of like they should be scared that you're going to hurt them or come after them or something like that. Just fear of you as a character. The more expensive you look, the more respect you will get and the more intimidating you become. That's the truth. But it's not always about labels and brand names. It's about looking ironed, nicely fit clothes, and polished in general.
Next thing for building this intimidating aura, vocal control. Low, steady, never rushed. If your voice shakes, you've lost the game before it's even started. Okay, you lost. You need to practice that. Practice speaking to yourself in the mirror. Practice your voice. How do you want to sound like? You know, we all have one life. You can literally be whoever you want. You can wake up tomorrow and be someone completely different than you were today. You choose who you are. Choose the voice that you want to put on. Choose the aura you want to emulate. What do you want people to think about you when you walk into a room? You get to pick that. You decide.
Control your presence. Sit tall. Have good posture. Lean back and take your space. Okay? Take your space. When you're in public, don't I used to do this a lot, you know, like, oh, no. Take your space. Put your arms out. sit comfortably, you know, in public. Hold your space. Don't look like you're apologizing for taking space and being there. That is number one how to like number one thing to do if you don't want to be intimidating at all. If you want people to look at you and know that you're insecure and not very confident, that's what you should do. You should look like you're sorry for taking up space and being there. No, I'm there sitting with my arms out. My head is tall, my chin is up. I'm not looking down. I'm getting eye contact. I'm moving slow and steady. Automatically, boom. People that have never met me before, seen me before, are going to feel intimidated. That's how it is.
And the last thing for this topic is boundaries as theater. When you say no without explaining, the room kind of gets quiet. You should not be overexlaining yourself. You don't have to explain why you don't want to do something, why you don't want to go somewhere. You just say no. And most people think that it's like genuine etiquette to sit there and be like, "No, I'm so sorry. Um, I really really can't go. I'm so so so sorry. I have this thing and this thing and I have to go do." That's doing too much. You're seeking the approval of the person you're talking to. You're not intimidating. That's not intimidating. That's people pleaser. When you say, "No, I can't make it. Sorry." That's intimidating. Oh, what does she have to do? Why is she so unapologetic about it? Oh, she's so confident. Whatever her plans are, big huge difference. Okay.
And last but not least, section four, which is the benefits of being intimidating. Obviously, you know them. That's why you want to be intimidating. That's why you clicked on this video. But to put it out there, just to confirm, people think twice before disrespecting you. You will experience a lot less of people walking all over you, stepping all over your boundaries, disrespecting your peace. Being intimidating will cut that down by probably less than half. Fake friends don't risk using you. If you're intimidating and people fear you just a little bit, just a little bit of fear, you will be shocked at how much better everyone around you treats you, including your own friends. Okay? When you're too nice to people and they don't for you at all, they think they can do whatever they want to and get away with it because you're so kind and forgiving, they don't fear you at all, they will go do whatever the hell they want, even when it's bad towards you and it benefits them. But if they have a little bit of fear of what you might do, they're going to think twice before doing that thing.
Same thing for relationships, lovers, your partner, they're going to be scared to lose you. They should be scared to lose you. Love is worthless without fear. Okay? They need to fear you just a little bit. They need to be scared of you. They need to be genuinely scared of you actually getting up and being able to walk away at any point that they're disrespecting you. Fear keeps people in check. Fear keeps things in order. Fear is what gives people a reason to respect you. Otherwise, why would they? Why would anybody respect anybody then? We're all human beings and most people are out here for themselves. If you don't teach people to fear you just a little bit by being intimidating, you are cooked. You're cooked. Okay? When you're intimidating, you stop begging people and fighting for crumbs of respect. People hand it to you just to survive in your presence. That's that is the benefit of being intimidating.
To wrap this up and summarize it, being intimidating without saying a word is like the ultimate form of power. It's not about being cruel or mean towards people or a nasty, vile human being. It's about being ungovernable. People aren't just going to walk in and walk all over you and take control of you and manipulate you and do whatever they want to get away with it. If you are truly ready to stop being predictable and easily and easy to control and easy to use and easy to disrespect and easy to walk all over, then you will take everything I said and actually try to implement it. and you will also subscribe to my YouTube channel because I post stuff like this all the time and your support means everything to me.
